Testing and resetting can be performed in two ways:
1. By pressing the T/R button on the front of the unit.
2. For remote testing and resetting, by short-circuiting the T/R and C terminals.
How does the GEYA GRLE8-01 function in manual and auto reset modes?
The reset mode is selected based on the connection of the Y1-C terminals.
Manual Reset Mode:
To operate in manual reset mode, disconnect the Y1-C terminals. When the leakage current (IΔ) exceeds the set trip level, the relay trips after the set time delay (Δt). The trip output (terminals 11-14) remains active until the T/R button is pressed or the T/R-C terminals are shorted.
Auto Reset Mode:
To operate in auto reset mode, short circuit the Y1 and C terminals. When the leakage current (IΔ) exceeds the set trip level, the relay trips after the set time delay (Δt). The trip output (terminals 11-14) will automatically deactivate once the leakage current drops below the reset level.
Important Notes:
1. If the leakage current exceeds 5 times the set value, the relay trips instantaneously, irrespective of the set trip time delay.
2. When the leakage current setting (IΔn) is set to 30mA, the trip time delay (Δt) is forced to be 0 (instantaneous trip).
How do I wire the GEYA GRLE8-01 with an MCCB with a UV (undervoltage) trip coil?
To wire the GEYA GRLE8-01 with an MCCB (Q2) that has a UV trip coil (MN):
1. Connect the power supply (N, L1, L2, L3) through a main breaker (Q1).
2. Pass the phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) and the neutral conductor (N) through the Zero-Current Transformer (ZCT).
3. Connect the ZCT to the S1 and S2 terminals of the GRLE8-01 relay.
4. Provide the control supply voltage (Un) to terminals A1 and A2 of the relay.
5. Wire the trip circuit: Connect one side of the power supply to the common trip terminal (11) of the relay. Connect the normally closed terminal (12) of the relay to the UV trip coil (MN) of the MCCB (Q2). Connect the other side of the UV trip coil to the other side of the power supply. This way, when the relay trips, it opens the circuit to the UV coil, causing the MCCB to trip.
6. Connect the load after the MCCB (Q2).
7. For remote reset/test, connect terminals Y1, T/R, and C as required for the selected reset mode.
How do I wire the GEYA GRLE8-01 with an MCCB with a shunt trip coil?
To wire the GEYA GRLE8-01 with an MCCB (Q2) that has a shunt trip coil (MX):
1. Connect the power supply (N, L1, L2, L3) through a main breaker (Q1).
2. Pass the phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) and the neutral conductor (N) through the Zero-Current Transformer (ZCT).
3. Connect the ZCT to the S1 and S2 terminals of the GRLE8-01 relay.

5. Wire the trip circuit: Connect one side of the power supply to the common trip terminal (11) of the relay.
