1. Rinse the probe with deionized or distilled water before use. If it is dehydrated, soak it for 30 minutes in tap water.

2. Switch on the meter. The MEAS and ATC indicators will appear.

3. Dip the probe into the sample, ensuring the tip is completely immersed. Stir the sample gently to create a homogenous sample and tap the probe gently to remove air bubbles.

4. Allow time for the reading to stabilize. When stable, the READY annunciator appears. Note the reading.

5. Press the HOLD key to freeze the reading for delayed observation. Press HOLD again to release the value.

6. To toggle between % Saturation and mg/l (ppm) modes, press the MODE key.

Using the READY indicator: If activated in the SETUP menu, the READY annunciator lights up when the reading is stable.

Using the AUTO HOLD feature: If activated in the SETUP menu, the meter will automatically “HOLD” the reading when it is stable for more than 5 seconds. The “HOLD” indicator appears. Press HOLD/ENTER to release the reading.

The EUTECH INSTRUMENTS DO 110 can store up to 100 sets of data.

1. During any measurement function (MEAS), press the MI/▲ key to input the current reading into memory.

Memory recall is in “Last In First Out” order. To recall readings:

NOTE: Readings are retained even if the unit is turned off. To erase all readings, use the Memory Clear function in the SETUP menu.

1. From the measurement mode, press the PRINT key.

2. The “dAt/CUr” screen appears. Press HOLD/ENTER.

3. The “Sec 5” screen appears (default is 5 seconds). Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to set the desired time interval.

You can print all stored data from the meter’s memory.

2. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ key to select the “dAt – StO” option and press HOLD/ENTER.

3. At the “SEC – 0” option, you can use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ key to select a time interval (in seconds) between each printed data set. This helps prevent printer/computer buffer overflow.

4. Press HOLD/ENTER. The “Prn” display will flash until all data is printed.

5. To stop the printing process at any time, press the PRINT key. This will exit to measurement mode.

NOTE: All stored memory will remain in the meter after printing.

To print data from a specific memory location:

1. From measurement mode, press the MR/▼ key. The “MEM” indicator appears, showing the last memory input location.

2. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ key to select a specific memory location, then press HOLD/ENTER to view the stored data.

3. When ready to print this data point, press the PRINT key.

4. The screen flashes “Prn/CUr” for about 0.5 seconds and then returns to the stored data display for that memory location.

5. Press HOLD/ENTER again to move to the next stored data location and repeat the process if desired.

The advanced setup mode lets you customize meter parameters. To access it:

1. Press the SETUP key to enter Setup mode.

2. Use the MI/▲ and MR/▼ keys to scroll through the main program groups (P1.0, P2.0, etc.).

3. Press the HOLD/ENTER key to enter a selected program group and view its sub-parameters.

You can select between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) in setup program P1.2.

3. Press HOLD/ENTER again. The upper display shows “ATC”.

4. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to select between “YES” (activates ATC) and “NO” (activates MTC).

5. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm your selection.

This option is available in setup program P1.4 when the meter is in mg/L (ppm) measurement mode.

1. From the mg/L (ppm) measurement mode, press SETUP.

2. Navigate to P1.0 (COF) and press HOLD/ENTER four times to enter the P1.4 mode selection menu (“dO”).

This is a “view only” mode that recalls previous calibration data.

The Electrode Data menu (P3.0 ELE) provides diagnostic information about the probe’s performance. This is a “view only” menu.

3. Press HOLD/ENTER repeatedly to cycle through the available data points. The data shown depends on whether you entered the setup menu from % Saturation mode or mg/L (ppm) mode.

In % Saturation mode, you can view:

– EL.2: % Saturation Offset

– EL.3: 100% Saturation mV value

In mg/L (or ppm) mode, you can view:

The Auto-Off feature automatically powers off the instrument 20 minutes after the last key press to conserve battery power. It is activated by default.

1. From measurement mode, press the SETUP key.

2. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to scroll to parameter P4.0 (AtO).

3. Press the HOLD/ENTER key.

4. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to select “YES” (to enable Auto-Off) or “NO” (to disable Auto-Off).

5. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm your selection and return to the P4.0 menu.

This function resets only the calibration values for % Saturation and mg/L (or ppm) back to factory defaults.

1. From measurement mode, press the SETUP key.

2. Scroll to parameter P5.0 (rSt) and press HOLD/ENTER. You are now in the Calibration Reset menu (P5.1 CAL).

3. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to toggle between “NO” (retains current settings) and “YES” (erases calibration settings).

4. Press the HOLD/ENTER key to confirm your selection.

– If you select “NO”, the meter proceeds to the User Reset program (P5.2).

– If you select “YES”, all LCD segments will light up for one second, calibration values are erased, and the meter returns to measurement mode.

A user reset clears all data, including calibration, memory, and customized setup functions, returning the meter to factory default settings.

1. From measurement mode, press the SETUP key.

2. Scroll to parameter P5.0 (rSt).

3. Press HOLD/ENTER twice to skip the Calibration Reset and go to the User Reset menu (P5.2 USr).

4. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to select “YES” (resets to factory default) or “NO” (retains current settings).

5. Press ENTER to confirm.

– If you select “NO”, the meter retains settings and goes back to program P5.0.

– If you select “YES”, all LCD segments will light up for one second, all data is reset, and the meter returns to measurement mode.

Use this parameter to clear all 100 memory locations. NOTE: This action will wipe out all memory permanently.

1. From measurement mode, press the SETUP key.

2. Scroll to parameter P6.0 (CLr) and press HOLD/ENTER.

3. Use the MI/▲ or MR/▼ keys to toggle between “NO” (retains memory) and “YES” (clears all memory).

4. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm your selection and return to the subgroup menu.

The barometric pressure must be set for accurate DO measurements and calibration. This is done in setup program P7.0.

1. From the mg/L or ppm measurement mode, press SETUP.

2. Scroll to parameter P7.0 (dPr) and press HOLD/ENTER.

3. The meter enters the barometric pressure unit selection menu. Use the MI/▲ and MR/▼ keys to toggle between mmHg (“HG”) and kilo Pascal (“PA”). Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm.

4. The display now shows the pressure value. Use the MI/▲ and MR/▼ keys to set the current barometric pressure.

5. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm the setting. The meter will then move to the Salinity setting display.

6. Press CAL/MEAS to return to measurement mode.

Salinity compensation is required for accurate DO measurement in saline solutions. This setting is available in the mg/L (ppm) Set Up mode only.

1. Follow steps 1-5 for setting the Barometric Pressure to arrive at the Salinity setting menu (“SAL”).

2. Use the MI/▲ and MR/▼ keys to enter the salinity of your solution in ppt (parts per thousand).

3. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm the value. The meter will return to the subgroup menu “dPr”.

4. Press CAL/MEAS to return to the measurement mode.

This feature allows you to offset the meter’s value to match a reference meter. This is done in setup program P8.0 from the % Saturation measurement mode.

1. Dip the DO electrode in the sample solution and allow the reading to stabilize.

2. Check the reading of a reference DO meter in the same sample.

3. Press the SETUP key to enter the % Saturation Set Up menu.

4. Scroll to parameter P8.0 (OFS) and press HOLD/ENTER. The display will show the last offset adjusted value.

5. Use the MI/▲ and MR/▼ keys to enter the new value to match your reference meter. You can adjust within a +/- 10.0% offset.

6. Press HOLD/ENTER to confirm the offset adjustment. The display returns to the subgroup menu.

7. Press CAL/MEAS to exit to the measurement mode.

Note: When a new user calibration is performed, the offset will be reset to zero.

Proper care will ensure maximum probe life and accurate readings.

– Deposits on the membrane surface act as a barrier to oxygen diffusion and must be cleaned off regularly.

– After use, rinse the probe in clean water and wipe it with a soft cloth or paper to prevent hardening of deposits.

– If growth develops on the probe, use a disinfecting chemical to clean it.

– NOTE: Although the membrane is strong, wipe it gently during cleaning. If the membrane is damaged or torn, the probe will no longer function and the membrane cap must be replaced.

– There are no special probe storage requirements.

Replacement is required when you cannot calibrate the probe or if the membrane is damaged (e.g., punctures, wrinkles).

1. Unscrew the old membrane cap housing.

2. Hold the probe under hot running water and use a stiff plastic brush to gently brush away the white oxide on the cylindrical anode. Do not use metal cleaning material.

3. If the cathode has deposits, remove them with a light scouring powder. Do not polish the cathode.

4. Take the new membrane cap housing and fill it with electrolyte solution. Inspect the bottom for leaks. If it leaks, use a different new cap.

5. If the assembly is leak-free, fill the membrane cap housing with electrolyte to the brim.

6. Tap the side of the housing gently to remove any air bubbles sticking to the membrane.

7. Screw the cap onto the probe. Excess electrolyte will drain out.

8. Replace the probe guard.

9. Calibrate the probe after the % saturation readings have stabilized.
