To avoid damage to the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 and other components, follow these instructions:

Unbox the speakers carefully to avoid physical damage.

Use appropriate gauge wires. A minimum of 16 gauge wire is required for runs up to 25 feet.

Ensure wire polarity is connected correctly. Most speaker cables are coded for ease of use. The positive (red) connection on the amplifier terminal must be connected to the positive (red) terminal on your speakers. Follow the same instructions for the negative side.

Strip off approximately 1/2 inch of the insulation from the ends of the speaker cable, twist the bare strands, and insert them into the binding post.

Ensure your equipment is turned off before connecting the speakers.

Check to ensure the positive and negative wires are not touching each other once they are connected to the speaker terminals.

To achieve maximum performance and optimal sound quality from your ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 speakers, place them approximately one to two feet away from boundaries such as walls and especially corners.

Close proximity to a side or rear wall will enhance bass performance (output), but being too close, particularly to a corner, may result in bass that is unnatural.

If a corner location is unavoidable, try to position the loudspeaker so that the distance to the rear wall is not equal to the distance to the side wall.

For the best results and most realistic stereo image, place the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 speakers so that an equilateral triangle is created between the speakers and your favorite listening position. This setup creates optimum imaging performance.

If you find that the left and right speakers are too far apart, angle (toe in) them towards the listening position to gain a more focused central image.

When using the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 for a 5.1-channel surround setup, avoid placing the surround speakers forward of your listening position.

The surround speakers should be spread apart wider than the front speakers.

Elevate the speakers to the same height or slightly higher than the front speakers for the most enveloping sound field.

You may need to experiment with the positioning by pointing the rear surround speakers towards the listening area, typically at an angle of up to 20 degrees.

If using a center channel speaker with your ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 system, it should be positioned above or below your television and aligned with the center of the screen.

Try to keep the center channel close to the same height as your front speakers for a more even sound stage. It might be necessary to tilt the center speaker up (if too low) or down (if too high) to aim it towards the listening area.

Optimal results are obtained by setting the receiver or processor center channel size to small. If available, set the crossover frequency to 80Hz.

The only maintenance required for your speakers is occasional dusting. Use only a soft, smooth cloth or a dust brush.

Never apply any abrasive cleaners, solvent-based cleaners, alcohol, benzene, furniture polish, or harsh detergents.

You can clean the speaker grilles using the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner.

Because some chemical agents used in modern furniture coatings can degrade or soften the rubber feet, it is advised to place an anti-slip mat underneath the loudspeaker.

Install the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DB63 on a level surface only.

When choosing a location, do not place the speakers in areas that are: in direct sunlight, very humid, prone to vibrations, or exceptionally hot or cold.

Do not place the speakers near CRT televisions, as they are not magnetically shielded and may cause color issues. Similarly, do not place them near magnetic cards (such as credit cards or commuter cards) as they may cause the cards to fail.

Do not install the speaker in a closed rack or a closed cupboard.

Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not install the speaker near transformers because electromagnetic stray fields can cause hum noise on woofers.

Do not put burning candles on or near the speaker.

ELAC speakers may be equipped with spikes or anti-slip feet for leveling. These are explicitly provided for leveling the speaker on uneven floors. Unscrew the spikes or anti-slip feet by 2 to 3 turns of thread to adjust.

The speaker should always be in perfect vertical alignment. The stability of the speaker must not be compromised, as the speaker may tip over.

Stability on carpeted surfaces can be increased by using spikes. However, mounting spikes must be carried out carefully due to their sharp ends which may cause injuries.

Continuous high volume may cause severe damage to your hearing. Please listen responsibly.

Extreme overload of the device due to very high volume may cause individual components to blow. You should never leave loudspeakers unattended under extreme overload conditions.
