To avoid damage to the speakers and other components during the setup of the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63, follow these precautions:

Unbox the speakers carefully to avoid physical damage.

Use appropriate gauge wires, with a minimum of 16 gauge wire for runs up to 25 feet.

Ensure your equipment is turned off before connecting the speakers.

Check to ensure positive and negative wires are not touching each other once they are connected to the speaker terminals.

Correct wire polarity is essential for the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63. Most cables are coded for ease of use. Ensure the positive (red) connection on the amplifier terminal is connected to the positive (red) terminal on your speakers. Follow the same instruction for the negative side.

Step 1. Strip off approximately 1/2 inch of the insulation from the ends of the speaker cable.

Step 2. Twist the bare strands.

Step 3. Insert the strands into the binding post.

The ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63 center channel is designed to produce dialog sounds and should be positioned following these guidelines:

Position the speaker above or below your television.

Align the speaker with the center of the television.

As much as possible, try to keep the speaker close to the same level (height) as your front speakers to ensure a more even sound stage.

If the speaker is placed too low or too high, it may be necessary to tilt the center speaker up or down to aim it towards the listening area.

For optimal results with the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63, set the receiver/processor center channel size to small. If your equipment provides a choice, set the crossover frequency to 80Hz.

To achieve maximum performance and optimal sound quality, place the speakers approximately one to two feet away from boundaries such as walls and especially corners. While close proximity to a side or rear wall can enhance bass output, being too close (particularly to a corner) may result in unnatural bass. If a corner location is unavoidable, try to position the loudspeaker so that the distance to the rear wall is not equal to the distance to the side wall.

The ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63 should only require occasional dusting. Never apply any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner or any harsh detergent. You can clean the grilles using the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner.

When choosing a location for the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63, do not place it in the following environments:

In direct sunlight.

In very humid areas.

Locations prone to vibrations.

Exceptionally hot or cold environments.

Near CRT Televisions, as the speakers are not magnetically shielded and may cause color issues with a CRT-based TV.

Close to magnetic cards, such as credit cards or commuter cards, as the lack of magnetic shielding may cause them to fail.

In a closed rack or in a closed cupboard.

Extreme overload of the ELAC DEBUT 3.0 DC63 due to very high volume may cause individual components to blow. Because of the possible danger, you should never leave loudspeakers unattended under extreme overload conditions. Continuous high volume may also cause severe damage to your hearing; please listen responsibly.

Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not put burning candles on or near the speaker.
