What are the electrical plug and cord requirements for the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

Notes on the Plug:

The EGGKITPO EGEF-10L is equipped with a grounded 3-prong NEMA 5-15 plug. It must be connected to a properly grounded NEMA 5-15R receptacle. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Dual units require two 5-15R receptacles.

Notes on the Cord:

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce hazards from entanglement or tripping. If an extension cord must be used, its marked electrical rating must be at least as great as the fryer’s rating. The cord should be arranged so it does not drape over a counter or tabletop where it could be pulled by children or tripped over.

If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, the fryer may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit.

How do I assemble the basket for the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

Please follow these steps for basket assembly:

1. Take two wingscrews and push them through the hole of the metal sheet on the basket.

2. Take the handle, line up the wingscrews with the holes on the handle, and tighten them. Note that the handle should be locked inside the basket.

3. Tighten the nuts on the wingscrews. Make sure the nuts and wingscrews are tight and the assembly is finished.

4. Ensure the basket handle is securely locked in the right place before use.

What are the operating instructions for the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

1. Before use, ensure the electricity supply conforms to the rating markings on the fryer and check that the power cord is not damaged.

2. Always ensure the element cover is in place within the oil tank. It sits on top of the heating element to protect it.

3. Add oil to the tank. The oil level MUST be between the ‘L’ (low) and ‘H’ (high) marks for safe operation.

4. Ensure the fryer is plugged into the socket and the power is switched on. The green power indicator light will turn on.

5. Rotate the temperature control knob clockwise to the desired setting. The yellow thermostat indicator will light up, showing that the oil is heating.

6. When the oil reaches the selected temperature, the yellow thermostat indicator will go out. The light will cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains the oil temperature.

7. For cooking, lower the basket containing food into the hot oil. When the food is cooked, the basket can be lifted to a draining position by placing the hook on the basket into the rods on the tank.

WARNING: Ensure the lid/cover is not wet or covered in condensation when placed on the fryer. Overly wet food or water in hot oil can cause surge boiling and severe burns.

What steps should I take after I finish frying with the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

1. When frying is completed, turn the temperature control anti-clockwise to the ‘MIN’ position and turn the power switch off.

2. Unplug the fryer from the mains power when not in use.

3. The oil must be removed from the fryer and stored elsewhere. This procedure MUST only be carried out when the oil is COMPLETELY COOL. Take caution, as oil can stay hot for 6-7 hours. Ensure the fryer is unplugged from the mains.

4. To remove the oil on the EGEF-10L (a model with a detachable oil tank), wait for the oil to cool down, then remove the heating element cover, control box, and element. Finally, pour the old oil out of the pot.

5. It is suggested to clean the oil tank and heating element after the oil has been removed.

How do I clean and maintain the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

IMPORTANT: Always unplug the fryer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Oil can stay hot for 6-7 hours.

1. Make sure your Deep Fryer is unplugged and the filled oil pan has cooled completely.

2. Remove the night cover.

3. Remove the frying basket from the oil pan.

4. Gently pull up to remove the control panel/heater assembly. Use caution as oil may splash. Wipe the control panel/heater assembly with a damp cloth and dry completely. Do not immerse the control panel/heater assembly in water, as this could permanently damage it.

5. Grasp the oil pan handles and slide it up and out of the Deep Fryer body.

6. Carefully strain the oil from the oil pan into a suitable container.

7. Oil Pan Cleaning: Soak in hot, soapy water. Use a stiff nylon brush to remove stubborn residue. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning products.

8. Fryer Body Cleaning: Wash the deep fryer body in hot, soapy water by hand. Dry all parts thoroughly.

9. Frying Basket Cleaning: The frying baskets should be hand washed before first use and seasoned in oil before going into the dishwasher for the first time. After seasoning, the basket can be placed in the dishwasher. Dry parts thoroughly after cleaning.

10. IMPORTANT: Make sure the heating element cover and oil pan are completely dry after washing and before use.

What are some helpful hints for frying with the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

• Never over-fill the frying basket; maximum capacity is 2/3 full.

• Fry smaller batches for best results, allowing oil to circulate freely.

• Pre-cooked foods generally require higher temperatures and less cooking time.

• Cut or sort food into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking.

• Dry damp foods and remove ice crystals before placing them in oil to avoid spatter foam.

• When breading, use fine, uniform crumbs and shake off any excess to keep the oil clean.

• Do not add salt or spices to food while it is frying or draining over the oil to prevent contamination.

• Space coated foods so they do not touch while cooking.

• When frying doughs or foods in a liquid batter, place them into the basket first before lowering it into the hot oil.

• Never add water or any other liquid to the oil.

• Never use hard fats (melt them first), butter, or margarine to fry foods.

• Never mix different types of oils together.

• Change the oil if it absorbs a “fishy” taste or odor from seafood to avoid transferring it to other foods.

How should I drain and recycle the oil from the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

WARNING! Allow the Deep Fryer to cool fully before draining and recycling the oil.

1. Frying oil should be filtered and recycled regularly, though not necessarily after every use.

2. Following the cleaning instructions, remove the frying basket and heating element cover.

3. Using a large funnel, filter the cooled oil through a fine sieve into a wide-neck, airtight, covered container.

4. This process can be repeated after 3 or 4 frying sessions without the oil deteriorating.

5. If oil is mainly used for potatoes and is filtered after every use, it may be used up to 8 times.

6. Since oil absorbs flavors, it’s a good idea to label containers with the type of food cooked in it (e.g., chicken, fish, desserts).

NOTE: DO NOT pour used oil down any drain. Discard used oil into a lidded container and dispose of it properly.

How do I reset the temperature safety switch on my EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

The EGGKITPO EGEF-10L is equipped with a safety switch that cuts off power if the oil temperature reaches 465°F (240°C). This switch requires a manual reset. Possible causes for activation include dirty oil, low oil level, or the element not being properly submerged.

To reset the switch, follow these 4 steps:

1. Wait until the oil has cooled to 300°F (148°C) or below.

2. Remove the switch cover (usually on the back panel) by unscrewing it counterclockwise.

3. Use a pen or similar narrow tool to press the reset button down. The button should stay in the down or “set” position.

4. Place the switch cover back on and secure it by screwing it clockwise.

How does the micro-switch safety feature work on the EGGKITPO EGEF-10L?

The EGGKITPO EGEF-10L is equipped with a micro-switch that deactivates the entire unit for operator safety. The switch ensures power is only supplied to the heating element when the fryer head is in the correct position.

1. When the fryer head is in the correct down position, a pad on the head presses the micro-switch in, allowing the heating element to receive power and heat the oil.

2. When the fryer head is lifted up or removed from the unit, the micro-switch moves to the “OFF” position, immediately cutting power to the heating element. This prevents the heating tube from being burned out and protects the user.

Always place the fryer head firmly in the right place and ensure the micro-switch (located on the bottom of the fryer head) is in contact with the main body for the unit to operate.
