The EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2 is equipped with two key safety features for operator protection:

1. Micro-switch: This feature deactivates the entire unit when the fryer head is removed. Always ensure the fryer head is placed firmly in the right place so the micro-switch (located on the bottom of the fryer head) is in contact with the main body.

2. Thermal Cut-off Device: This built-in device will automatically shut off the fryer to prevent overheating. If this occurs, it requires a manual reset. Please refer to the troubleshooting section for “Temperature safety reset switch”.

What type of electrical plug and receptacle is required for the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

All EGGKITPO deep fryers, including the EGEF-101V-2, are equipped with a grounded 3-prong NEMA 5-15 plug. This appliance must be connected to a properly grounded outlet only.

The EGEF-101V-2 is a dual unit and requires two 5-15R receptacles, one for each plug, on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances to avoid overloading.

If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

What should I know about the power cord for the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of entanglement or tripping. If an extension cord is used, its marked electrical rating must be at least as great as the fryer’s rating. How do I operate the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2 deep fryer?

1. Before using, ensure the electricity supply conforms to the fryer’s rating markings and check for any power cord damage.

2. Always ensure the element cover is in place within the oil tank. It protects the heating element.

3. Add oil to the tank. DO NOT exceed the ‘H’ (High) mark, and ensure the oil level is above the ‘L’ (Low) mark for safe usage.

4. Ensure the fryer is plugged in and the power is switched on. The green power indicator will light up.

5. Rotate the temperature control clockwise to the desired setting. The yellow thermostat indicator will light up, showing the oil is heating.

6. When the oil reaches the set temperature, the yellow thermostat indicator will go out. It will cycle on and off to maintain the temperature.

7. For cooking, ensure the basket handle is securely locked in place. Lower the basket with food into the hot oil. When cooked, lift the basket to a draining position using the hook on the basket and the rods on the tank.

8. If the fryer overheats, a safety facility will cut power. It can be reset by allowing the unit to cool and then pushing the reset button on the back of the fryer.

9. When frying is finished, turn the temperature control to the ‘MIN’ position and turn the power switch off.

10. Unplug the fryer from the mains power when not in use.

11. The oil must be removed only when it is COMPLETELY COOL. Oil can stay hot for 6-7 hours. Hot oil can cause severe burns.

How do I use the timer function on my EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

If you don’t want to use the timer function, keep the “TIMER” switch in the “OFF” position.

To use the timer function, follow these steps:

• Rotate the temperature control knob to the desired temperature.

• Turn on the “TIMER” switch.

• Rotate the timer dial to the desired time. When the time is up, a “DING” sound will be heard, and the fryer will cut off power automatically. The basket can then be taken out of the oil and hung on the drainage rod on the fryer head.

How should I remove used oil from my EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

This procedure must only be carried out when the oil is COMPLETELY COOL. Hot oil is capable of causing severe burns.

The EGEF-101V-2 has detachable oil tanks. Follow step 12a:

How do I clean and maintain my EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

IMPORTANT: Always unplug the fryer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Oil can stay hot for 6-7 hours.

1. Make sure your Deep Fryer is unplugged and the filled oil pan has cooled completely.

2. Remove the night cover.

3. Remove the frying basket from the oil pan.

4. Gently pull up to remove the control panel/heater assembly. Use caution as oil may splash. Wipe the control panel/heater assembly with a damp cloth and dry completely. CAUTION: Do not immerse the control panel/heater assembly in water, as this could permanently damage it.

5. Grasp the oil pan handles. They slide up and out to allow removal from the fryer body.

6. Carefully strain the oil from the oil pan into a suitable container.

7. Oil Pan Cleaning: Soak in hot, soapy water. Use a stiff nylon brush to remove stubborn residue. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning products.

8. Frying Basket Seasoning: Before first use, baskets should be hand washed and seasoned. To season, place the clean, dry, empty basket in the oil and set the temperature to 390°F. When reached, remove the basket and let it cool. Repeat the procedure. After seasoning, the basket can be placed in a dishwasher.

9. Wash the deep fryer body in hot, soapy water by hand. Dry all parts thoroughly.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the heating element cover and oil pan are completely dry after washing and before use.

What are some helpful hints for frying with the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

• Never over-fill the frying basket with food. Maximum basket capacity is 2/3 full.

• Fry more batches of smaller amounts of food for best results.

• Pre-cooked foods generally require higher temperatures and less cooking time.

• Cut or sort food into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking.

• Dry damp foods and ensure they are free from ice crystals before placing them in oil to avoid spatter foam.

• When using breading, coat the food evenly. Fine, uniform crumbs stick better.

• To prevent oil contamination, do not add salt or spices to food during frying or while it’s draining above the oil.

• Space coated foods so they do not touch while cooking.

• For doughs or battered foods, place them in the basket first, then lower the basket into the hot oil.

• WARNING! Never add water or any other liquid to the oil.

• Never over-fill or under-fill the oil pan. Ensure the oil level is between the MIN and MAX marks.

• Never use hard fats (melt first), mix different oils, or use butter or margarine for frying.

• If frying fish or seafood, the oil may absorb a “fishy” taste. Change the oil to prevent transferring this taste to other foods.

How do I drain and recycle the cooking oil from the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

WARNING! Allow the Deep Fryer to cool fully before draining and recycling the oil.

1. Frying oil should be filtered and recycled regularly, though not necessarily after every use.

2. Following the cleaning procedures, remove the frying basket and heating element cover.

3. Using a large funnel, filter the cooled oil through a fine sieve into a wide-neck, airtight, covered container. Alternatively, a piece of clean cotton material in the frying basket can be used to filter the oil.

4. This process can be repeated after 3 or 4 frying sessions.

5. If oil is mainly used for frying potatoes and is filtered after every use, it may be used up to 8 times.

6. Label containers with the type of food cooked in the oil (e.g., sweet desserts, vegetables, fish) as oil absorbs flavors.

NOTE: DO NOT pour used oil down any drain. Dispose of it properly in a lidded container.

How do I reset the temperature safety switch on my EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

The EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2 is equipped with a manual reset safety switch that cuts off power if the oil temperature reaches 465°F (240°C). This can be caused by dirty oil, low oil level, or an improperly submerged element.

To reset the switch, follow these 4 steps:

1. Wait until the oil has cooled to 300°F (148°C) or below.

2. The reset switch and cover are located on the back panel of the unit. Remove the switch cover by unscrewing it counterclockwise.

3. Use a pen or similar narrow tool to press the reset button down. The button should stay in the down (set) position.

4. Place the switch cover back on and secure it by screwing it clockwise.

How does the micro switch safety feature work on the EGGKITPO EGEF-101V-2?

The micro switch is a safety feature that controls power to the heating element based on the position of the fryer head.

1. When the head is in the correct or down position, the micro switch is pushed in, and the heating element will be supplied with power.

2. When the head is in the up position or removed from the unit, the switch goes to the “OFF” position, which cuts power to the heating element, preventing it from being burned out and protecting the user.
