The DOORKING 1603-222 kit is designed for the 1600 model barrier gate operators and is recommended for the 1603 auto spike system. The traffic signal is synchronized with the gate operator’s up/down cycle. The red LED light remains on and only changes to the green LED when the operator’s arm is fully raised.

The DOORKING 1603-222 kit includes the following components:

Kit Items:

• 12 VDC Transformer

• 6 Ft Cable

• Traffic Light Assembly

Support Post Hardware:

• 3/4″ Conduit Nipple and Conduit Nut

• 2″ Conduit Nut (3)

• U-Bolt Clamp with lockwashers and nuts (2 sets)

• 5/8″ Cover Bracket bolt and lockwasher (2 sets)

• 2″ Threaded Elbow

Before beginning the installation, you must shut off the AC power to the operator. Additionally, you need to turn off the DC power switch on certain models.

Follow these steps to assemble the support post:

1. Use two 2″ conduit nuts to secure the traffic light assembly to the support post.

2. Route the wire through the support post.

3. Use one 2″ conduit nut to secure the 2″ elbow to the bottom of the support post.

To mount the support post assembly to the operator, follow these instructions:

1. Use the existing circuit board bracket bolts to mount the support post bracket onto the operator housing.

2. Drill a 7/8″ hole centered where the elbow from the support post touches the operator housing. This is approximately 18 inches down from the top of the operator.

3. Secure the 3/4″ conduit nipple in the drilled hole using the conduit nut.

4. Route the wire from the support post through the conduit nipple into the operator housing.

5. Attach the support post to the support post bracket using the two U-Bolt Clamps.

Follow these wiring instructions to connect the traffic light:

1. Connect the wires from the traffic light assembly to the traffic light terminal block.

2. Connect the Red wire from the traffic light terminal to the “NC” (Normally Closed) terminal on the operator’s circuit board.

3. Connect the Green wire from the traffic light terminal to the “NO” (Normally Open) terminal on the operator’s circuit board.

4. Connect the White wire from the traffic light terminal to the White (-) wire from the 12 VDC transformer.

Important: Keep all wires clear of any moving parts inside the operator housing.
