• Headset jack: Connect an optional headset.

To install a SIM card and an optional microSD card into your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7, follow these steps:

1. Insert the removal tool into the hole on the SIM card/Memory card tray, and then push until the tray pops out.

2. Place the SIM card on the tray. Make sure that the card’s gold contacts face down into the device and that the card is positioned as shown in the diagram.

3. Place the memory card on the tray with the gold contacts facing down.

4. Slide the SIM card/Memory card tray back into the slot.

Important: To prevent water and dust from entering the device, remove any dust on the O-Ring and ensure that the SIM card tray is closed tightly.

Caution: If the SIM card is not inserted correctly, the device cannot detect it. Reorient the card and place it back into the slot if the SIM card is not detected.

• Whenever your device gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.

• Do not expose the device to salt water or ionized water, or to water over 5.0 feet deep for more than 30 minutes. If your device is exposed to fresh water, dry it thoroughly. If exposed to any other liquid, rinse the device with fresh water immediately and dry it thoroughly.

• Do not expose the device to water at high pressure, such as ocean waves or a waterfall.

• If the device is dropped or receives an impact, the water and dust resistant features may be damaged.

• The touchscreen and other features may not work properly if the device is used in water or in other liquids.

Your device is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery. To charge it using the included USB charger:

1. Insert the USB cable into the USB charger/Accessory port on the device.

2. Connect the USB cable to the charging head, and then plug the charging head into a standard outlet.

3. Unplug the charging head from the outlet and remove the USB cable from the device when charging is complete.

Note: It is recommended to fully charge the battery before first use. For the fastest charging, use the Adaptive Fast Charging charger that came with your device. This device is also compatible with separately sold wireless charging devices approved by Samsung.

Caution: Use only charging devices and batteries approved by Samsung to avoid invalidating your warranty and causing damage.

To turn the device on:

• Press and hold the Power key until the device turns on.

To turn the device off:

1. Press and hold the Power key until the Device options menu is displayed.

2. Tap Power off, and confirm if prompted.

If your device stops responding to taps or finger gestures and you are unable to turn it off normally, you can perform a forced restart.

• Press and hold the Power key and the Volume down key at the same time for more than seven seconds.

You can use Smart Switch™ to transfer contacts, photos, and other content from your old device quickly and easily using the included USB cable and On-the-Go (OTG) connector.

1. Select Smart Switch during the initial setup of your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7.

OR

From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Backup and reset > Open Smart Switch.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions and select the content you wish to transfer.

Note: Transferring content via a USB cable may increase battery consumption, so ensure your battery is fully charged. The USB option on the other device must be set to Media device (MTP).

To lock the device:

By default, the device locks automatically when the screen times out. To lock it manually, simply press the Power key.

To unlock the device:

The default screen lock is Swipe. To unlock, press the Power key or Home key, and then drag your finger across the screen. To choose a more secure screen lock, see the “Set a Screen Lock” section in your device settings.

Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security feature that is automatically enabled when you sign into a Google Account on your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7. It prevents others from using your device if it is reset to factory settings without your permission.

Enable Factory Reset Protection:

Adding a Google Account to your device automatically turns on FRP.

Disable Factory Reset Protection:

To disable FRP, you must remove all Google Accounts from the device before a factory reset. This is important if you are selling or servicing your device.

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Personal.

2. Tap Accounts > Google.

3. If you have more than one Google Account, tap the one you want to remove.

4. Tap More > Remove account.

You can customize the multiple Home screens on your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7. To access the Home screen manager, pinch the screen from a Home screen or touch and hold an empty space.

Once in the manager, you can perform these actions:

• Add a screen: Swipe to the end of the screens, and then tap Add.

• Remove a screen: Touch and hold a screen, and then drag it to Remove.

• Set a screen as the main Home screen: Tap the Main Home screen icon at the top of a screen. This screen is displayed when you press the Home key.

• Change the order of screens: Touch and hold a screen, and then drag it to a new position.

• Flipboard Briefing: Swipe to the left of the screens to find the Flipboard Briefing screen. To enable or disable this feature, tap On/Off at the top of the screen.

Add a Shortcut to a Home Screen:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps.

2. Touch and hold an app shortcut, drag it to a Home screen, and then release it.

Remove a Shortcut:

1. Touch and hold an app shortcut to release it.

2. Drag the app shortcut to Remove and release it. (Note: This only removes the shortcut, not the app itself).

Create a Folder:

1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app shortcut and drag it on top of another app shortcut until a highlighted box appears.

2. Release the app shortcut to create the folder. You can then name the folder, change its color, and add more applications.

3. Tap anywhere outside of the folder to close it.

Remove a Folder:

1. Touch and hold the folder until it detaches.

2. Drag the folder to Remove and release it.

Multi Window allows you to use two supported applications together on a split screen. Here’s how to use it:

Activate Multi Window:

1. From any screen, touch and hold the Recent key.

2. Tap two apps that support Multi Window to open them in split screen view. If you are already using a supported app, you can tap another app to add it in split screen view.

You can also launch recently used apps directly into Multi Window view:

1. Tap the Recent key. Recently used apps that support Multi Window will have a Multi Window icon in their title bar.

2. Tap the Multi Window icon in the title bar to launch that app in split screen view.

3. Tap another app icon to add it to the split screen view.

Window Controls:

Select an app window, and then tap the window controls icon in the middle of the window border to access these options:

You can enter text using the Samsung Keyboard or by speaking with Google Voice Typing.

Using the Samsung Keyboard:

Enter text using the QWERTY keyboard. You can touch and hold the Options key (to the left of the space bar) for the following:

• Voice input: Enter text using Google voice™ typing.

• Clipboard: Access the clipboard.

• Insert emoticon: Insert an emoticon at the cursor position.

• Keyboard settings: Access keyboard settings.

Using Google Voice Typing:

1. Tap the Voice input icon on the Samsung keyboard.

2. Speak your text.

Emergency mode conserves your device’s battery power in an emergency by changing the screen to grayscale, restricting app usage, and turning off Mobile data and other connectivity features when the screen is off.

Activate Emergency Mode:

1. Press and hold the Power key to display the Device options window.

2. Tap Emergency mode.

3. Read and agree to the Terms and conditions on first use, then tap Turn on.

Use Emergency Mode:

The following apps and features are available on the Emergency mode Home screen:

• Flashlight: Use the device’s flash as a steady light.

• Emergency alarm: Sound an audible siren.

• Share my location: Send your location to emergency contacts.

• Phone: Launch the call screen.

• Internet: Launch the Web browser.

• Add (+): Add other available apps like Maps.

• Emergency call: Dial the emergency number (e.g., 911).

• More: Access options to turn off Emergency mode, remove apps, manage contacts, and configure settings.

Turn Off Emergency Mode:

• From the Emergency mode Home screen, tap More > Turn off Emergency mode.

Make a Call:

1. From a Home screen, tap the Phone icon.

2. Enter a number on the keypad and tap the Dial icon.

Answer a Call:

• At the incoming call screen, drag the Answer icon to the right to answer.

• Drag the Reject icon to the left to reject the call and send it to voicemail.

Options During a Call:

• Add call: Place your current call on hold to dial a second call.

• Extra volume: Quickly increase the incoming audio volume.

• Bluetooth: Switch the audio to a connected Bluetooth headset.

• Speaker: Use the speakerphone.

• Mute: Mute your microphone.

• Keypad: Show the dialer keypad.

Call Waiting:

If you receive a call while on another, you can drag the Answer icon in any direction to answer the new call. You will then have options to put the first caller on hold, merge the calls, or end the first call.

Create a Speed Dial:

1. From a Home screen, tap Phone.

2. Tap More > Speed dial.

3. Tap an unassigned number (2 through 100, as 1 is for voicemail).

4. Tap a contact to assign to that number.

Use Speed Dial to Make a Call:

1. From the Phone app, go to the keypad.

2. Touch and hold the Speed dial number. If the number is more than one digit, enter the first digits and then hold the last digit.

Remove a Speed Dial Assignment:

1. Go to the Speed dial screen (Phone > More > Speed dial).

2. Find the contact to remove and tap the Remove (—) icon.

Set Up Your Voicemail:

1. From the Home screen, tap Phone > Voicemail (or touch and hold the 1 key).

2. Follow the tutorial to create a password and record a greeting and your name.

Access Your Voicemail:

• From a Home screen, tap Phone > Voicemail.

• You may be prompted to enter your password.

• Follow the voice prompts from the voicemail center.

Visual Voicemail:

Visual Voicemail allows you to review and manage your messages directly from a list on your phone.

1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Voicemail.

2. Follow the prompts to get started.

You can uninstall apps you have downloaded, and disable preloaded apps that cannot be uninstalled.

To uninstall or disable an app:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps.

2. Tap Edit. Apps that can be uninstalled or disabled will display an Uninstall/Disable icon on their shortcut.

3. Tap the Uninstall/Disable icon and follow the prompts.

To enable apps after disabling them:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Device > Applications > Application manager.

2. Tap All apps > Disabled, and then tap the app you want to enable.

3. Tap Enable. The app will be displayed again in the Apps list.

Take Pictures:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Camera.

2. Aim the camera at the subject. You can pinch to zoom, or tap the screen to focus on a specific area and adjust brightness.

3. Tap the Take a picture icon. You can also press a Volume key to take a picture.

Shooting Modes:

Tap Mode to access different shooting modes. Some modes are only available for the front or rear camera.

• Rear Camera Modes: Auto, Pro (manual adjustments), Selective focus, Panorama, Slow motion, Food, Hyperlapse.

• Front Camera Modes: Selfie, Wide selfie.

• Modes for Both Cameras: Video collage, Live broadcast, Virtual shot.

Camera Settings:

From the camera screen, you can access quick settings like Effects, HDR, Timer, and Flash. Tap the Settings icon for more options:

• Video size and Picture size: Select a resolution.

• Video stabilization: Activate anti-shake to keep focus steady.

• Grid lines: Display grid lines for better composition.

• Location tags: Attach a GPS location tag to the picture.

• Quick launch: Open the camera by pressing the Home key twice quickly.

You can create and manage alarms using the Clock app.

Create an Alarm:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Clock.

2. Tap the Alarm tab, then tap Add.

3. Set the following items to configure your alarm:

• Time: Set a time for the alarm.

• Repeat: Choose which days the alarm should repeat, if desired.

• Alarm type: Choose whether the alarm uses sound, vibration, or both.

• Alarm tone: Choose a sound to play for the alarm.

• Snooze: Configure snooze interval and repeat values.

• Alarm name: Enter a name for the alarm.

4. Tap Save to save the alarm.

Delete an Alarm:

1. In the Clock app, find the alarm you want to delete in the alarm list.

2. Touch and hold the alarm, then tap Delete.

You can store and manage your contacts with the Contacts app.

Add a Contact:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Contacts.

2. Tap the Create contact icon (+).

3. Choose a storage location (Device, SIM, or a synced account).

4. Enter contact information such as name, phone number, and email address. Tap Add to enter additional fields.

5. Tap Save.

Edit a Contact:

1. Open the Contacts app and tap the contact you wish to edit.

2. Tap Edit, make your changes, and then tap Save.

Delete a Contact:

1. In the Contacts app, touch and hold a contact to select it. You can tap other contacts to select multiple.

2. Tap Delete, and then confirm when prompted.

Share a Contact:

1. Open the Contacts app and tap a contact to view its details.

2. Tap More > Share contact.

3. Choose a sharing method and follow the prompts.

Samsung Pay is a secure and simple way to pay with your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7.

To set up Samsung Pay:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Samsung Pay.

2. Tap Install and follow the prompts to sign into your Samsung account (or create one) and add your credit or debit cards.

To use Samsung Pay:

1. From any screen (including the lock screen or when the screen is off), swipe up from the Home key area.

2. Your payment cards will be displayed. Select a card to pay with.

3. Authorize the payment by scanning your finger on the Home key or by entering your Samsung Pay PIN.

4. Hold your phone over the store’s card reader to complete the transaction.

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Connections.

2. Tap Wi-Fi, and then tap the switch to turn Wi-Fi on.

3. Your device will automatically scan for available networks and display them.

4. Tap the network you want to connect to.

5. If the network is secured, enter the password and tap Connect. If it’s an open network, you will be connected automatically.

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Connections.

2. Tap Bluetooth, and then tap the switch to turn Bluetooth on. Make sure the target device is in discoverable mode.

3. Your phone will scan for nearby Bluetooth devices and display them in a list.

4. Tap the name of the target device from the list.

5. Your device will automatically try to pair. If prompted, confirm the pairing request on both devices or enter the passcode supplied with the target device.

You can share your device’s internet connection with other devices by turning on Mobile Hotspot.

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Connections.

2. Tap Mobile hotspot and tethering > Mobile hotspot.

3. Tap the switch to turn Mobile hotspot on. The network name and password will be displayed.

4. On the other device, turn on Wi-Fi, scan for networks, select your CRICKET SAMSUNG GALAXY S7’s hotspot name, and enter the password to connect.

Note: You must have a tethering plan on your service account to use this feature. Mobile hotspot consumes battery power and uses data service.

You can configure your display’s brightness, timeout, and other settings.

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Device.

2. Tap Display.

3. From here you can adjust various settings:

• Brightness: Adjust the screen brightness manually or set it to Auto.

• Storage: Check used and available memory and delete unnecessary files.

• RAM: Check available RAM and close background apps to speed up your device.

• Device security: Scan your device for malware.

Quick Optimization:

For a quick performance boost, tap Clean all on the main Smart Manager screen. This will identify apps using excessive battery, delete unnecessary files, and close background apps.

You can use your fingerprint to unlock your device and for other security features.

Register a Fingerprint:

1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Personal.

2. Tap Lock screen and security > Fingerprints.

3. Tap Add fingerprint and follow the prompts to register a fingerprint. You must first set up a backup pattern, PIN, or password.

4. You can register up to three fingerprints.

Once registered, you can use your fingerprint for:

• Fingerprint unlock: Unlock your device screen.

• Web sign-in: Access online accounts.

• Verify Samsung account: Verify your identity when logging in to your Samsung account.

• Use with Samsung Pay: Authorize secure payments.

You can send a quick alert to your primary contacts in an emergency situation.

Set Up SOS Messages:

2. Tap Privacy and safety > Send SOS messages.

2. From here you can access several options:

• Samsung Account Backup: Tap Back up my data to back up your phone log, messages and more to your Samsung account. Tap Restore to restore this data.

• Google Account Backup: Tap Back up my data to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers. Automatic restore will restore these settings when you reinstall an app.

• Factory data reset: This action permanently erases ALL data from the device, including account settings, system data, and your files. Data on an external SD card is not affected. To perform the reset, tap Factory data reset > Reset device and follow the prompts.

Warning: If Factory Reset Protection is on, you will need to enter your Google Account credentials after a reset to use the device.
