Before you begin assembling your COSTWAY EP24705, please follow these steps:

1. Please read all instructions carefully.

2. Retain instructions for future reference.

3. Separate and count all parts and hardware.

4. Read through each step carefully and follow the proper order.

5. It is recommended that, where possible, all items are assembled near the area in which they will be placed in use, to avoid moving the product unnecessarily once assembled.

6. Always place the product on a flat, steady, and stable surface.

7. Keep all small parts and packaging materials for this product away from babies and children as they potentially pose a serious choking hazard.

Please read and follow these safety instructions carefully:

1. This appliance is hot when operated and can cause severe burns if touched.

2. Do not operate the appliance before reading and understanding operating instructions. Failure to do so could cause fire or injury.

3. Keep combustible materials (furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains) at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front and away from the sides and rear.

4. To avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

5. To disconnect power, turn controls to off, then remove the plug from the outlet. Allow the appliance to cool before servicing.

6. Do not install damaged, incomplete, or substitute components.

7. Supervise young children carefully when they are in the same room as the appliance.

8. Keep media bed kits away from children and infants to prevent accidental swallowing.

9. The remote control contains small batteries; keep it away from children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

10. Do not install a battery backward, charge, put it in a fire, or mix with other battery types, as it may explode or leak.

11. Ensure adequate safety measures are in place to protect infants/toddlers from touching hot surfaces.

12. Keep control compartments, circulating blower, and its passageway clean. The appliance should be inspected at least annually by a qualified service person.

13. Do not modify this appliance under any circumstances.

14. If any part has been in contact with water, call a qualified service technician to inspect and replace any part of the control system.

15. Do not operate with the glass door removed, cracked, or broken. Glass replacement should be done by a licensed or qualified service person.

16. Do not strike or slam the appliance glass door.

17. Keep packaging material out of reach of children and dispose of it safely.

18. Servicing should only be done while the appliance is disconnected from the power supply.

19. Always unplug the appliance when not in use.

20. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or after it has malfunctioned or been damaged. Return it to an authorized service facility.

21. Do not use this appliance outdoors.

22. Never place the appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

23. Do not run the cord under carpeting. Arrange the cord away from cluttered areas where it will not be tripped over.

24. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.

25. Do not insert foreign objects into any ventilation or exhaust opening.

26. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust. Do not use on soft surfaces where openings may become blocked.

27. Always plug appliances directly into a wall outlet. Never use an extension cord or relocatable power tap (power strip).

NOTE: Please leave enough space to place the power cord on the right side of the fireplace.

A. Before plugging your appliance into an outlet, verify that the house circuit breakers for that outlet are on.

B. The appliance may emit a slight, harmless odor when first used. This is normal and is caused by the initial heating of internal elements and will not occur again.

C. If your appliance does not emit heat, consult the operation section of the manual.

D. Use with an ETL or UL certified surge protector.

RISK OF FIRE! The power cord must not be pinched against a sharp edge. Secure the cord to avoid tripping or snagging. Do not run the cord under carpeting. Arrange the cord away from cluttered areas. To prevent a possible fire, do not block the air intake or exhaust in any manner.

Carefully remove the appliance from the box. Before installing, test to make sure the appliance operates properly by plugging the power supply cord into a conveniently located 120 Volt grounded outlet.

This appliance is for use on 120 Volts. The cord has a three-blade grounding type plug. It must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. An adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available. To disconnect the appliance, turn controls to off, then remove the plug from the outlet.

Step 1. Removing the Glass Frame

– Remove the fixed screw in the lower-left corner (do not discard it).

– Lift the glass frame 1-2cm vertically. Then the entire glass frame can be removed from the front.

– Take the glass frame 10-20cm away from the appliance. Press the button on the data cable connector and pull it out to separate the glass panel. Maximum distance is 50cm; do not pull the cable directly.

Step 2. Removing the Mounting Bracket

– Unscrew the two screws (one on each end) with a Phillips screwdriver (do not discard them), then remove the pre-attached mounting bracket.

Step 3. Choosing a Wall Location

– Find a safe location. Minimum clearance from the ceiling and mantel must be at least 8 inches (200mm); minimum clearance from the front must be at least 3 feet (900 mm). Choose a location near an outlet so an extension cord is not required. Do NOT position the unit directly below a power outlet.

Step 4. Drilling the Holes and Attaching the Mounting Bracket

– Use a level to align the bracket and mark the holes with a pencil.

– Drill the required number of 7/25 in. (7mm) holes in the wall.

– Insert the wall anchors (Part B) into the holes using a hammer.

– Attach the mounting bracket to the wall by fastening the Anchor Screws (Part A) into the wall anchors (Part B).

Step 5. Hanging the Fireplace on the Bracket

– Hang the slotting behind the appliance on the hooks at the left and right sides of the bracket. Please hold the appliance to avoid dropping it before the installation is finished.

Step 6. Locking the Fireplace on the Bracket

– Lock the bracket at both ends with the M5X12 screws removed in Step 2 to ensure a solid combination of the fireplace and bracket.

Step 7. Placing the Decorations

– Carefully place crystal or other decoration into the bottom tray on the front of the appliance as illustrated. NOTE: Media bed kits may have sharp edges; wear safety glasses and gloves when handling.

Step 8. Hanging the Glass Frame

– Connect the data cable connector before hanging the glass frame on the appliance.

– Gently push on the glass panel by aligning the 4 hooks until it snaps into position (sinks down 1-2 cm).

– Secure the glass panel with the screw removed in Step 1.

Step 9. Refasten the Glass Frame

– Thread the M4X12 screw (Part C) into the threaded holes on the glass panel. Check the alignment of the glass panel and securely tighten the screws.

Step 1 & 2. Removing the Glass Frame and Mounting Bracket

– Please follow the same steps 1 and 2 from the Wall Hanging Installation.

Step 3. Settling the Holes of Screw

– An appropriate cavity (1-2cm bigger for each side) needs to be prepared according to the size of the appliance.

– Put the fireplace in place, mark the holes which need to be drilled with a pencil. Then take it out of the cavity again.

Step 4. Drilling & Installing the Wall Anchors

– Drill the holes 7/25 in. (7mm) on the prepared marks.

– Insert the wall anchors (Part B) into the holes using a hammer.

Step 5. Placing the Pads and Fixing the Fireplace

– Pass screws (Part A) through the holes from the front of the fireplace with a screwdriver. Install carefully and do not let the screws fall into the fireplace.

– Put the Fireplace into the prepared cavity.

– Fasten the fireplace firmly into the wall by the screws for each side.

Step 6. Placing the Decorations

– Carefully place crystal or other decoration into the bottom tray on the front of the appliance as illustrated. NOTE: Media bed kits may have sharp edges; wear safety glasses and gloves when handling.

Step 7. Hanging the Glass Frame

– Connect the data cable connector before hanging the glass frame on the appliance.

– Gently push on the glass panel by aligning the 4 hooks until it snaps into position (sinks down 1-2 cm).

– Secure the glass panel with the screw removed in Step 1.

Step 8. Refasten the Glass Frame

– Thread the M4X12 screw into the threaded holes on the glass panel. Check the alignment of the glass panel and securely tighten the screws.

WARNING: It’s better to reserve a space between the frame and wall to enable better air circulation during working if available.

Once the appliance has been plugged into a grounded electrical outlet, it is ready to operate. The main power switch is located on the upper right of the fireplace. Press the indicator to turn on the appliance; press the other side to turn it off. Make sure the Main Power Switch is turned on before operating with the control panel or remote.

The main power switch must be turned ON before using the remote control. Before using the remote, move the battery’s transparent insulating piece away.

NOTICE: To improve operation, aim the remote control at the front of the fireplace. Do not press the buttons too quickly. Give the unit time to respond to each command.

The remote control uses one CR 2025 battery. To replace it, locate the battery holder on the rear view of the remote and slide it out to access the battery. The battery must be recycled or disposed of properly.

The mounting bracket is pre-attached. To remove it, unscrew the two screws at both sides of the fireplace using a Phillips screwdriver, then remove the bracket.

1. Make sure the main Power Switch on the top of the appliance is turned on before operation.

2. Make sure you have reconnected the data cable which may have been pulled out when you removed the glass frame.

1. Ensure the air outlet is not covered.

2. Unplug the plug, wait for 10 minutes, and try to turn it on again.

This is normal. The fans blow cool air while the appliance gradually heats up. The fans also blow after the appliance turns off to cool the unit and prevent overheating.

This may be due to the appliance being in sleep mode. Long-press the “DIMMER” button for 6 seconds. In sleep mode, all lights are off, but the heating function remains on. To exit sleep mode, long-press the “DIMMER” button for 6 seconds again, and the appliance will return to normal mode.

1. Check if the flame element is not attached to the motor.

2. The rotation motor may be defective.

3. The Flame Adjusting knob might be at a low setting. Turn the knob to the maximum setting.

4. There may be loose wiring. Check all wiring for loose connections and contact a qualified electrician if necessary.

1. The flame element may not be seated properly.

2. The motor may be defective.

1. Check if the heater power switch is off. Turn the heater power switch to the “ON” position.

2. The heater system may be overheated. This can happen if the heater is covered or the air inlet/outlet is blocked. Remove any blockage, turn off the power switch, and unplug it. Wait 10 minutes, then turn the heater on again.

3. There could be loose wiring. Check all wiring for loose connections and contact a qualified electrician if needed.

4. The air inlet or outlet is blocked completely. Leave adequate space around the unit and remove any blockage.

1. The heater system may have overheated, causing the Temperature Limit thermostat to cut off. Turn off the power switch and unplug it. Wait 10 minutes, then turn the heater on again.

2. The fan motor may be defective.

3. The fan blower may be badly balanced.

4. Ensure both the “POWER” and the “HEAT” switches are turned on.

1. There could be loose wiring. Contact a qualified electrician to check.

2. The heating element may be bad.

3. There may be a build-up of dirt on the fans. Clean all fans.

4. The heater fan may be defective.

1. The battery may not be properly installed. Make sure the battery is installed correctly and the transparent insulating piece has been removed.

2. You may not be pointing the remote at the correct position. Aim the remote control at the receiver on the fireplace.

3. There may be an obstacle between the remote and the receiver. Remove any objects that may be blocking the signal.

4. You may be pressing the remote control buttons too quickly. Give the unit time to respond to your commands.

The heater may emit a slight, harmless odor when first used. This is a normal condition caused by the initial heating of the internal parts and will not occur again.

NOTE: For most functional problems, you can unplug the plug, wait for 10 minutes and plug it in again. This will reset the machine to its initial status.

First, disconnect power and allow the heater to cool completely.

The fireplace should not be operated with an accumulation of dust or dirt on or in the unit, as this can cause a buildup of heat and subsequent damage. For this reason, the heater must be inspected regularly, at least at yearly intervals.

The partially reflective glass may collect dust particles during shipping and installation. These can be removed by dusting lightly with a clean, dry cloth.

To remove fingerprints or other marks, the glass can be cleaned with a damp cloth. It should then be completely dried with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots. To prevent scratching, do not use abrasive cleaners.
