Chord NameSymbolCasio Chord StepsFingered Steps
Major(M)13
Minorm23
Seventh734
Minor Seventhm744
Major SeventhM74

Troubleshooting: Why won’t Auto Rhythm or Synchro Start function properly right after turning power ON?

System initialization takes about 5 seconds after power is turned ON. Wait 5 seconds before beginning operations.

Troubleshooting: Why does the power remain ON even after the switch is turned OFF?

This can happen if the power was turned OFF while the unit was in sampling standby state (which lasts up to 15 seconds after pressing SAMPLING or SAMPLING LONG). The power will turn OFF as soon as a sampling signal is received (from mic or line in) or after the 15-second standby period expires if no signal is received.

Troubleshooting: Why does the bass timbre sound continuously when programming a bass pattern?

More than 2 keys were likely played simultaneously during programming. Bass patterns must be input one note at a time. Delete the bass pattern and begin programming again correctly.

Troubleshooting: Why doesn’t the Auto Power OFF function operate?

The Auto Power OFF function does not operate when the unit is in Chord Pattern programming mode with the rhythm stopped. Press the CHORD PATTERN KEY to exit this mode.

Troubleshooting: Why doesn’t the Chord volume control work, or why can Tone be altered via the UPPER TONE Keys during sampling?

This can occur if the Sample Channel was not specified before performing Sampling input, especially if Key Split or Auto Accompaniment functions were active. Turn off Key Split or Auto Accompaniment functions before entering sampling mode. Always specify the Sample Channel with the SAMPLE CHANNEL KEY before sampling.

Troubleshooting: Why do all functions return to the initialized state (like just after power ON)?

This might happen if you attempted to play a 4-note polyphonic chord using a sample sound. Sample sounds allow up to three notes polyphony (including notes played via Sampling Pads). Avoid playing more than three sample notes simultaneously.

Troubleshooting: Why does the Rhythm pattern stop suddenly during Rhythm Pattern programming, while the Tempo Indicator remains lit?

The number of notes input in the pattern memory may have exceeded capacity (approx. 1000 notes total across patterns). Erase a section of some part in memory or memorize the entire section again. The MEMORY OVER display (Tempo Indicator lights) will disappear.

Troubleshooting: Why might data in memory become altered or erased?

This can happen under two conditions:

1. When batteries have become dead (memory is not protected if batteries die).

2. When operations are not performed correctly as described in the owner’s manual.

Remedy: Replace all batteries if they are dead. Refer to the owner’s manual for correct operating procedures.

Troubleshooting: Why does a sample sound play continuously when played on the keyboard during Rhythm Pattern programming?

The “SAMPLE” Percussion Key (on the keyboard) was likely pressed while playing the sample sound on the keyboard during programming. Exit from the Pattern programming mode. Be sure to press the “SAMPLE” Percussion Key *before* inputting sample sounds in Rhythm Pattern programming.

Troubleshooting: Why does the bass and chord sound continuously, or not sound at all, after the Pattern Program Key is pressed?

The RHYTHM PATTERN, BASS PATTERN, or CHORD PATTERN key was likely pressed during an Auto-Rhythm fill-in. Stop the RHYTHM track and exit from the programming mode. When programming patterns, only press the Pattern Keys (Rhythm, Bass, Chord) after stopping the rhythm.

How should I care for my SK-100 keyboard?

• Location: Avoid using the unit in direct sunlight, extreme temperatures or humidity, or sandy/dusty places for extended periods.

• Power Supply: Use only the rated voltage. To prevent noise and degraded sound quality, avoid using the same AC outlet as other household appliances.

• Handling: Do not drop the unit; strong shocks cause malfunctions. Sliders and keys require a light touch; excessive force may cause damage.

• Cleaning: Clean the keyboard with a soft cloth dampened with detergent. Never use paint thinner, benzene, or other solvents.

• Malfunction: If the keyboard doesn’t function properly, check connections and power (are batteries dead?). If problems persist, contact the original retailer or local Casio dealer. Do not attempt repairs yourself.

• Manual: Store the operation manual in a safe place for future reference.
