To set up the hardware for your CANON E3600, please follow these steps:

1. Removing Packing Materials:

Step 1. Remove the orange tape on the right side of the printer and open the cover.

Step 2. Remove the orange tape on the left side of the printer.

Step 3. Close the cover.

2. Turning on the Printer:

Step 1. Connect the power cord to the back of the printer and to a power outlet.

Step 2. Press the ON button.

Follow these steps to correctly install the FINE cartridges in your CANON E3600:

Step 1. Open the printer cover. Do not touch the FINE cartridge holder until it stops moving.

Step 2. Lower the ink cartridge lock lever on the left-hand side (for the Color cartridge).

Step 3. Remove the Color FINE cartridge from its package and carefully remove the protective tape. Do not touch the ink on the tape or the electrical contacts on the cartridge.

Step 4. Insert the Color FINE cartridge into the FINE cartridge holder on the left.

Step 5. Raise the ink cartridge lock lever to secure the cartridge in place.

Step 6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to install the Black FINE cartridge on the right-hand side.

Step 7. Close the cover.

To load paper into the CANON E3600, follow this procedure:

Step 1. Open the paper support.

Step 2. Slide the paper guide to the left.

Step 3. Load several sheets of paper against the right edge with the print side facing up. Align the paper guide to match the width of the paper.

Step 4. Press the Paper Select button, choose the correct paper size, and then press the OK button.

Step 5. Extend the paper output tray, and then open the output tray extension.

If an error code appears on the screen of your CANON E3600, check the screen and follow the corresponding instructions below:

• If a ‘C’ appears: This indicates you need to install the FINE cartridges. Please refer to the instructions for installing the FINE cartridges.

• If ‘E09’ appears: This means there is remaining protective material. Please check the printer and remove any remaining packing materials, such as orange tape.

• If ‘E04’ appears: This signifies that the FINE cartridges are not installed correctly. Remove the cartridges and reinstall them according to the instructions.

For all other error cases, refer to the Online Manual.

To connect your CANON E3600 using the provided CD-ROM, follow these steps:

Step 1. Insert the CD-ROM into your computer. Double-click EasySetup.exe on the screen that appears.

Step 2. If the printer selection screen appears, select E3640. If the installation screen appears, click Next.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

If nothing appears after inserting the CD, start Explorer, navigate to the CD-ROM drive, and then run EasySetup.exe.

If you experience issues such as crooked lines, inconsistent colors, or other unsatisfactory print results with your CANON E3600, you should perform a Print Head Alignment.

Common issues that may require Print Head Alignment:

• Lines Are Misaligned: Straight lines appear crooked or jagged.

• Uneven or Streaked Colors: Colors are not consistent across the page or appear with streaks.
