When in DSC mode, if you do not move the gearshift lever forward or rearward to shift, the transmission will be in sport mode and will still shift automatically.
The transmission will only allow shifting into gears appropriate for the vehicle speed and engine rpm. The transmission will not automatically shift to the next higher gear if the rpm is too high.
How does the Traction Control System work on my CADILLAC CTS 2006, and when should I turn it off?
The Traction Control System activates every time you start your vehicle. When one or more of the drive wheels begin to spin from traction loss, the Traction Control System will apply braking to the spinning wheel(s) and may reduce engine power until traction is regained.
If your vehicle becomes stuck, and rocking the vehicle is required, the system should be turned off.
Press the button located in the glove box to turn the system off or back on.
