Please adhere to the following safety warnings when using your BUSH BFSLSAE9W dishwasher:

• Check the packaging before installation and the outer surface of the machine once the packaging has been removed. Do not operate the machine if it appears damaged.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use.

• Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance.

• Remove packaging and keep it out of reach of children.

• Keep children away from detergents and rinse aids.

• There may be some residue left in the machine after washing. Keep children away from the machine when it is open.

• Choose a suitable and safe place to install your machine.

• Only use original spare parts.

• Unplug the machine before installation.

• Your machine must only be installed by an authorized service agent.

• Check that the indoor electrical fuse system is connected in line with safety regulations.

• All electrical connections must match the values on the plate.

• Ensure the machine does not stand on the electrical supply cable.

• Never use an extension cord or a multiple socket connection.

• The plug should be accessible after the machine is installed.

• After installation, run your machine unloaded for the first time.

• The machine must not be plugged in during positioning.

• Always use the coated plug supplied with your machine.

• If the electrical cable is damaged, it should only be replaced by a qualified electrician.

• This machine is for domestic use only. Commercial use will void the guarantee.

• Do not stand, sit, or place loads on the open door of the dishwasher.

• Only use detergents and rinse aids produced specifically for dishwashers.

• Do not drink water from the machine.

• Due to the danger of explosion, do not place any chemical dissolving agents into the machine’s washing section.

• Check the heat resistance of plastic items before washing them.

• Only put items in the machine which are suitable for dishwashing and do not overfill the baskets.

• Do not open the door while the machine is in operation; hot water may spill out.

• The machine door should not be left open as it may cause accidents.

• Place knives and other sharp objects in the cutlery basket in a blade-down position.

• In case of a malfunction, repair should only be performed by an authorized service company.

• Before repair work, the machine should be disconnected from the mains. Switch off the water tap.

• To avoid an electric shock, do not unplug the machine with wet hands.

• Pull the plug to disconnect the machine from the mains; never pull on the cord.

13. Mini Active Drying Unit – This system provides better drying performance for your dishes.

• When positioning the machine, place it in an area where dishes can be easily loaded and unloaded. Do not place it where the ambient temperature falls below 0°C.

• Place the machine close to a water tap and drain. Connections should not be altered once the machine is in position.

• Do not hold the machine by its door or panel.

• Leave adequate distance around the machine for ease of movement when cleaning.

• Ensure the water inlet and outlet hoses are not squeezed or trapped and that the machine does not stand on the electrical cable.

• Adjust the feet so the machine is level and balanced. The machine should be placed on flat ground, otherwise it will be unstable and the door will not close properly.

It is recommended to fit a filter to your water inlet supply to prevent damage from contamination like sand or rust.

Water Inlet Hose:

1. Use the new water inlet hose supplied with your machine; do not use an old hose.

2. Run water through the new hose before connecting it.

3. Connect the hose directly to the water inlet tap. The pressure from the tap should be a minimum of 0.03 MPa and a maximum of 1 MPa. If the pressure exceeds 1 MPa, a pressure relief valve must be fitted.

4. After making the connections, turn the tap on fully and check for water leaks. Always turn off the water inlet tap after a wash program has finished.

Water Drain Hose:

Connect the water drain hose directly to a water drain hole or to the sink outlet spigot. This connection should be a minimum of 50 cm and a maximum of 110 cm from the floor plane. Note that items will not wash properly if a drain hose longer than 4 meters is used.

Power On/Off: Press the On/Off button (4) to switch the machine on. The On/Off lights will be on as long as the machine is on.

Program Selection: Press the program button (5) to set the suitable program.

Start/Pause: Press the Start/Pause button (6) to start the program. The Washing light will turn on, and the program duration will be displayed.

Program Progress: You can follow the program flow with the Washing, Rinsing, Drying, and End lights (7) on the control panel.

Delay Timer: Press the delay button (2) before the program starts to delay the start time for 1 to 19 hours. To change the delay time, press Start/Pause, then the Delay button to set a new time, then Start/Pause again to activate it. To cancel, press the Delay button until the delay time is 0h.

Options Button (3):

• Press once to activate the half load option. This shortens program duration to reduce power and water consumption.

• Press a second time to activate the tablet function if you are using combined detergents.

Extra Functions Button (1):

• Hygiene Function (8): Makes the washing process more hygienic by changing the washing temperature and duration.

• Extra Rinsing (8): Adds extra washing-rinsing steps to make your dishes cleaner and shinier.

• Extra Drying (8): Extends the drying duration of the selected program. Hygiene and Drying functions cannot be selected at the same time.

Refill Indicators (9):

• The Salt refill indicator will turn on if salt is missing. Fill the salt compartment.

• The Rinse aid refill indicator will turn on if rinse aid is missing. Fill the rinse aid compartment.

1. Press the Start/Pause button.

2. Once the program has stopped, use the program selection button to select the desired new program.

3. Press the Start/Pause button to start the newly selected program.

The new program will continue from where the previous program left off.

If you would like to cancel a program while washing is continuing:

1. Press and hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds.

2. The End light will flash during the canceling process. The machine will drain the water inside for about 30 seconds.

3. After the End light has become on, press the On/Off button to switch off the machine.

4. Unplug the appliance and turn off the water tap.

Note:

• Program duration may change according to the amount of dishes, water temperature, ambient temperature, and selected additional functions.

• Values for programs other than Eco are indicative only.

• The Eco program is the most efficient for normally soiled tableware in terms of combined energy and water consumption.

• Only use powder detergent for short programs. Short programs do not include drying.

1. Make sure the electricity and supply water specifications match the values in the installation instructions.

2. Remove all packaging material from inside the machine.

3. Set the water softener level.

4. Fill the rinse aid compartment.

5. Fill the salt compartment.

Only use special dishwasher salt. To add softener salt:

1. Open the salt compartment cap by turning it counter-clockwise.

2. For the first use, fill the compartment with 1 kg of salt and water until it is almost overflowing. Using a funnel will make filling easier.

3. Replace the cap and close it.

4. For subsequent refills, add salt (approx. 1 kg) until the compartment is full. You only need to add water on the very first use.

If softener salt has overflowed and you do not start the machine immediately, run a short washing program to protect your machine against corrosion.

To find out the hardness level of your tap water, contact your water company or use a test strip (if available).

Using a Test Strip:

1. Run water through the tap for 1 minute.

2. Keep the strip in the water for 1 second.

3. Shake the strip.

4. Wait for 1 minute.

5. Set the hardness level of your machine according to the test strip result.

The factory hardness level setting is “3”.

Setting the Salt Level:

1. With the machine off, press and hold the program button.

2. While holding the program button, press the On/Off button to turn the machine on. Continue to hold the program button for at least 3 seconds.

3. “SL” will be shown for 2 seconds to indicate “Hardness set”.

4. Release the program button. The last setting level is displayed.

5. Press the program button to set the desired level (1-6). After level 6, it returns to level 1.

6. Turn the machine off with the On/Off button to store the selected level in memory.

Filling the Detergent:

1. Push the latch to open the dispenser.

2. Pour in the detergent according to the program table.

3. Close the lid and press it until it locks in place.

4. The dispenser should be refilled just before the start of each program. If dishes are heavily soiled, place additional detergent in the pre-wash detergent chamber.

Filling the Rinse Aid and Setting the Level:

1. Open the rinse aid compartment cap.

2. Fill the compartment with rinse aid to the MAX level and then close the cap. Be careful not to overfill and wipe up any spills.

To change the rinse aid level:

1. With the machine off, press and hold the program button.

2. Turn on the machine using the On/Off button.

3. Continue holding the program button until “rA” disappears from the display.

4. The machine will display the last setting.

5. Set the level (1-5) by pushing the program button.

6. Switch off the machine to save the setting. The factory setting is “4”.

If dishes are not drying properly or are spotted, increase the level. If blue stains form, decrease the level.

For best results, follow these loading guidelines:

• Loading the dishwasher to capacity contributes to energy and water savings.

• Manual pre-rinsing is not recommended as it increases water and energy consumption.

• Remove any coarse residue on dishes before placing them in the machine.

• Upper Basket: Place cups, glasses, stemware, small plates, bowls, etc. in the upper basket. Do not lean long glasses against one another. When placing long stem glasses and goblets, lean them against the basket edge or rack, not against other items.

• Place all containers such as cups, glasses, and pots with the opening facing downwards.

• Lower Basket: Place all large items (pots, pans, lids, plates, bowls, etc.) and very dirty items in the lower rack.

• Dishes and cutlery should not be placed above each other.

• Take care not to obstruct the rotation of the spray arms.

• Make sure that after loading, the detergent dispenser can open freely.

• To avoid injuries, place long-handle and sharp-pointed knives with their sharp points facing down or horizontally on the baskets.

1. Turn the Rail Stop Clips, at the ends of the rails, to the sides to open them.

2. Pull out and remove the basket.

3. Change the position of the wheels to the desired height.

4. Reinstall the basket to the rail, making sure to close the Rail Stop Clips.

When the upper basket is in the higher position, large items such as pans can be placed on the lower basket.

Cleaning your dishwasher is important to maintain its service life.

• Oil and limescale may build up over time. If this occurs, fill the detergent compartment but do not load any dishes. Select a program that runs at a high temperature and run the dishwasher empty. If this is not sufficient, use a cleaning agent designed for dishwashers.

• To extend the life of your dishwasher, clean the appliance regularly each month.

• Wipe the door seals regularly with a damp cloth to remove any accumulated residue.

Clean the filters and spray arms at least once a week. The filter system consists of a Micro Filter, a Coarse Filter, and a Metal Filter.

1. To remove the filter combination, turn it counter-clockwise and lift it upwards.

2. Pull the coarse filter out of the micro filter.

3. Pull and remove the metal filter.

4. Rinse all three filters with lots of water until they are free of residue.

5. Reassemble the filters. Replace the filter insert, and rotate it clockwise to lock it in place.

Never use your dishwasher without a filter. Incorrect fitting of the filter will reduce washing effectiveness.

Make sure that the spray holes are not clogged and that no food waste is stuck to the spray arms. If there is any clogging, remove the spray arms and clean them under water.

• To remove the upper spray arm: Undo the nut holding it in position by turning it clockwise and pulling it downwards. Make sure the nut is properly tightened when refitting.

• The lower spray arm can be pulled upwards to be removed.

Large food residues or foreign objects not captured by the filters may block the waste water pump. The rinsing water will then be above the filter. Be careful of broken glass or pointed implements.

1. First, always disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

2. Take out the baskets.

3. Remove the filters.

4. Scoop out water, using a sponge if required.

5. Check the area and remove any foreign objects.

6. Install filters.

7. Re-insert baskets.

If the program does not start, check the following:

• Is it plugged in? Plug your dishwasher in.

• Is it switched on? Switch your dishwasher on by pressing the On/Off button.

• Is the fuse blown? Check your indoor fuses.

• Is the water inlet tap closed? Turn on the water inlet tap.

• Is the door open? Close the dishwasher door.

• Are the water inlet hose and machine filters clogged? Check them and make sure they are not clogged.

If water remains inside the machine, check these possible causes:

• Water drain hose is clogged or twisted: Check the drain hose, then either clean or untwist it.

• The filters are clogged: Clean the filters.

• The program is not finished yet: Wait until the program is finished.

If the machine stops during washing, it could be due to:

• Power failure: Check mains power.

• Water inlet failure: Check the water tap.

If food waste remains on dishes, please check the following:

• Dishes placed incorrectly: Place dishes as instructed in the loading section to ensure sprayed water reaches all items.

• Dishes leaning against each other: Do not overload baskets.

• Not enough detergent used: Use the correct amount of detergent as instructed in the program table.

• Wrong wash program selected: Use the information in the program table to select the most appropriate program.

• Spray arms clogged with food waste: Clean the holes in the spray arms with thin objects.

• Filters or water drain pump clogged or filter misplaced: Check that the drain hose and filters are correctly fitted and clean.

Whitish stains on dishes can be caused by:

• Not enough detergent used: Use the correct amount of detergent, as instructed in the program table.

• Rinse aid dosage and/or water softener setting is too low: Increase the rinse aid and/or water softener level.

• High water hardness level: Increase the water softener level and add salt.

• Salt compartment cap not closed properly: Check that the salt compartment cap is closed properly.

If your dishes do not dry, consider these points:

• Drying option is not selected: Select a program with a drying option.

• Rinse aid dosage is set too low: Increase the rinse aid dosage setting.

• Stainless-steel quality of the dishes is insufficient: Use only dishwasher-proof sets.

Rust stains on dishes may be caused by:

• High level of salt in wash water: Adjust the water hardness level using the water hardness table.

• Salt compartment cap not closed properly: Check that the salt compartment cap is closed properly.

• Too much salt spilled in the dishwasher while filling it: Use a funnel while filling the salt compartment to avoid spillage.

• A poor mains grounding: Consult a qualified electrician immediately.

This can happen if detergent was added when the detergent compartment was wet. Make sure the detergent compartment is dry before use.
