Please read the instructions fully before operating your BUSH CYBL20-9. It is for household and indoor use only.

• This appliance must be used for its intended purpose only and operated as instructed in the user manual.

• Use only the voltage specified on the rating plate of the heater.

• WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or other flammable materials at least 1 m away from the air outlet.

• Only use this heater on a horizontal and stable surface.

• Do not place the heater immediately below a socket outlet.

• Do not use this appliance with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system, or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.

• To avoid the risk of overloading your plug socket, the use of an extension lead with this heater is not recommended.

• Important: this heater is intended for floor use only. Do not mount on ceilings or walls.

• Do not use this heater in the immediate surrounding of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended.

• WARNING: Do not use this heater in small rooms, when they are occupied by people unable to leave the room alone, unless constant supervision is provided.

• Check the appliance before each use for signs of wear or damage. If damaged, discontinue use immediately and do not use until the appliance has been inspected and approved for use by a qualified service person.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by the person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• Children less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

• Always switch off the heater before removing the plug from the power socket.

• Do not remove the plug from the power socket by pulling on the cord, always grip the plug to remove.

• Always unplug the appliance when not in use, when moving the appliance or before cleaning.

• Do not immerse the appliance or its cord in water or any other liquids.

• Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance as this may cause the insulation to weaken and split.

• Do not run the power cord under carpets, rugs etc.

• Do not cover or restrict the airflow to the inlet or exhaust grilles; restricted airflow can cause the appliance to overheat and become a fire risk.

• Do not insert or allow any foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the appliance.

• Do not use this heater if it has been dropped.

• Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the heater.

• Do not use the heater on deep pile carpets or long hair type rugs. Keep combustible materials such as drapes and other soft furnishings away from the heater.

• This radiator is filled with a precise quantity of special oil. Repairs requiring opening of the oil container are only to be made by the manufacturer or his service agent who should be contacted if there is an oil leak. Never attempt to repair yourself. Repairs to electrical appliances should only be performed by a qualified electrician.

• When disposing of the radiator, follow the regulations concerning the disposal of oil.

Before using your new heater, the feet and castors (supplied) must be fitted. The front foot must be fitted on the control panel end, and the rear foot must be fitted between the end two fins for stability.

1. Invert the heater and grip firmly. You may need help to do this.

2. Place the front foot on the control panel end and secure in place using two butterfly nuts.

3. Position the ‘U’ shaped bolt around the joint between the rear two fins, with the threads protruding from the bottom of the heater. Place the foot and secure in place using the remaining two wing nuts.

Note: Do not use the heater without the feet fitted.

The following fittings are supplied:

• Foot x2

• U shaped bolt x1

• Winged nut x2 (Note: The diagram on page 4 shows two butterfly/winged nuts for the front foot and two for the rear foot, likely meaning 4 are supplied in total, although the text labels “Winged nut x2”).

The heat settings for the 2kW 9 Fin Radiator (model CYBL20-9) are:

I: Low 800W

II: Medium 1200W

III: High 2000W

Make sure you have read and fully understood the safety instructions before operating the heater.

• Choose a safe, horizontal, stable surface to place your heater and position the power cord so not to create a trip hazard.

• Make sure the On/Off control is switched to Off ‘O’.

• Plug the power cord into a suitable power socket.

Once the heater is plugged into a suitable plug socket:

• Turn the thermostat control clockwise to the maximum setting.

• Turn the Power on/heat setting control to the desired setting: Low, medium, or high.

NOTE: It will take 5-10 minutes for the appliance to fully heat up. This radiator is oil filled and will cool down slowly after the power is shut off. Allow the radiator heater to cool prior to any movement; the built-in handles should be used for easy movement.

Setting the temperature is easy to do:

• Select the heat setting (Low, Medium, or High), then rotate the thermostat control to the maximum position.

• Once the desired room temperature has been reached, turn the thermostat control anticlockwise until it clicks off and the light switches off.

• Then, turn the control clockwise slowly until it clicks back on. The thermostat will now maintain the set temperature.

• The heater will turn on and off automatically, maintaining the room temperature that you have set.

• You may need to adjust the thermostat control to fine-tune the ideal room temperature.

The heater is fitted with a safety switch which cuts the heater off if it falls over. This switch is located under the base. The heater needs to be placed on a firm and level surface in order to operate. Standing the unit on a long pile carpet may not activate the switch.

Your heater is fitted with an overheat safety cut-out device that switches off the heater in the event of overheating. Should the heater stop working, turn the heater off and inspect for blockage of the air inlet or outlet. Wait at least 5 minutes for the protection system to reset before attempting to restart the heater. If the heater fails to operate or the safety device switches the heater off again, return the heater to your nearest service center for examination or repair.

The heater requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble-free operation:

• Always turn off and unplug the heater from the mains supply before cleaning.

• Make sure the appliance has cooled down completely before cleaning.

• Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the heater to remove dust and dirt.

• Ensure the heater is dry before plugging back into the mains supply.

• Do not immerse the cord, plug or the appliance in any liquid or allow moisture to come into contact with the electrical parts.

Power Cord Storage:

When the appliance is not in use, wrap the power cord around the storage hook to keep your appliance tidy and easy to store away. The power cord must be fully unwrapped when plugged into the plug socket or in use.

Heater Storage:

• Do not store the appliance while it is still hot.

• When not in use, clean the heater before storing away in the original or similar sized box.

• Store the heater in a safe, clean, and dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following UK electrical code:

• BLUE = NEUTRAL

• BROWN = LIVE

• GREEN + YELLOW = EARTH

If you are fitting a rewireable plug:

• The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N.

• The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L.

• The GREEN & YELLOW wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter E or the earth symbol.

Rewireable plugs should only be replaced by a suitably competent person. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

If your appliance is fitted with a “non-rewireable” plug and you need to change the fuse, the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the appliance must not be used.

Based on the information requirement for electric local space heaters, the BUSH CYBL20-9 has the following control features:

• Type of heat input: Manual heat charge control, with integrated thermostat.

• Type of heat output/room temperature control: With mechanic thermostat room temperature control.

• It does not feature electronic controls, timers, presence detection, or other advanced control options.
