You should disconnect the BOSCH MUMS6 from the power supply when:

• not using the appliance.

• the appliance is unattended.

• assembling the appliance.

• taking the appliance apart.

• cleaning the appliance.

• approaching rotating parts.

• changing tools.

• confronted with a fault.

Please observe the following safety instructions for your BOSCH MUMS6:

Risk of electric shock:

• Never operate a damaged appliance or one with a cracked or fractured surface.

• Never pull on the power cord to unplug. Always unplug at the mains.

• If the appliance or power cord is damaged, unplug it immediately or switch off the fuse.

• Do not reach into the bowl when lowering the swivel arm.

• Keep packaging material and small parts away from children.

• Clean surfaces that come in contact with food before each use.

To prevent material damage to your BOSCH MUMS6, follow these guidelines:

• Never use different drives at the same time.

• Never operate the appliance longer than necessary.

• Do not operate the appliance at no-load.

• Never use genuine parts and accessories for other appliances.

• Do not exceed maximum processing quantities.

• Before use, check the bowl for foreign objects and remove them.

• Do not place the appliance on moving or vibrating surfaces.

Unpacking:

1. Take the appliance and all other parts out of the packaging.

2. Remove any packaging material, stickers, or film.

3. After unpacking, check all parts for any damage in transit and completeness of the delivery.

Setting up:

1. Place the appliance on a stable, level, clean, and flat work surface.

2. Adjust the power cable to the required length. To shorten, push it into the cord storage. To lengthen, pull it out.

3. Do not insert the mains plug yet.

The rotary switch on the BOSCH MUMS6 is used to start and stop processing and select the speed.

The illuminated ring on the rotary switch indicates the operating status of your BOSCH MUMS6.

The touch display functions as both a display and a control element. You can use the touch buttons and the main menu to access settings, functions, and programmes.

To show the main menu and to leave the current display, press < until one of the menu items is displayed.

The swivel arm of the BOSCH MUMS6 can be moved to different positions for various tasks by pressing the release button.

Note: The swivel arm features the EasyArm Lift function, which supports the upward movement of the swivel arm.

To ensure ingredients are mixed perfectly, you can correct the distance between the bowl and the beating whisk on your BOSCH MUMS6. Ensure the mains plug is not inserted and the swivel arm is open.

1. With the whisk and bowl inserted, hold the bottom of the beating whisk with one hand and release the lock nut clockwise using a spanner wrench.

2. To change the setting, turn the tool in the desired direction:

The optimum setting is a distance of approx. 2.5 mm from the bowl.

3. Press the release button and push the swivel arm down until it engages.

4. Check the setting.

5. Press the release button and raise the swivel arm until it engages.

6. Hold the bottom of the beating whisk and tighten the lock nut anticlockwise using a spanner wrench.

Preparing the appliance:

1. Insert mains plug.

2. Press the release button and raise the swivel arm until it engages.

3. Place the bowl in the main unit, using the recesses as a guide.

4. Turn the bowl anticlockwise until it engages.

5. Fit the lid onto the main drive until it engages. The filling shaft must face the front.

6. Press the tool into the main drive until it engages. The protective cap must cover the main drive completely.

7. Add the ingredients to the bowl.

8. Press the release button and push the swivel arm down until it engages.

Processing ingredients with tools:

1. Insert mains plug.

2. Set the rotary switch to the required speed. The display shows the speed set and the processing time.

3. If wished, add further ingredients through the filling shaft. For larger quantities, switch off the appliance and open the swivel arm.

4. Process the ingredients until you achieve the required result.

5. Set the rotary switch to O and wait for the appliance to stop.

1. Unplug the mains plug.

2. Press the release button and raise the swivel arm until it engages.

3. If the swivel arm is difficult to open due to dough on the tool, open it slightly and use a spatula to push the dough off. Then, open the swivel arm fully, remove remaining dough, and then remove the tool.

4. Press the ejector button to release and remove the tool. Only press this button when the swivel arm is open.

5. Take the cover off the main drive.

6. Turn the bowl clockwise and remove.

To use accessories on drive 2 or 3 of your BOSCH MUMS6, you must first remove the protective cover. Always close unused drives with their covers.

Using Drive 2:

1. Lift the cover of drive 2 by the side opening and remove.

2. After use, fit the cover of drive 2 and press down firmly.

Using Drive 3:

1. Turn the cover of drive 3 anticlockwise and remove.

2. After use, fit the cover of drive 3 and secure by turning clockwise.

You can configure the basic settings for your BOSCH MUMS6 to meet your needs.

1. In the main menu, use < or > to select “Setting” and confirm with OK.

2. Use ∧ or ∨ to select the required setting and confirm with OK.

3. Use ∧ or ∨ to select further options or change settings and confirm with OK.

4. To leave an option or setting and go back a level, press <.

You can use the timer to set a required processing time on your BOSCH MUMS6.

1. In the main menu, use < or > to select “Timer” and confirm with OK.

2. Use ∧ or ∨ to set the minutes and confirm with OK.

3. Use ∧ or ∨ to set the seconds and confirm with OK. The display will show “Select setting”.

4. Set the rotary switch to the required speed. The display shows the selected speed and remaining processing time.

5. Once the time has elapsed, the appliance stops processing and the display shows “Set level O”. Set the rotary switch to O.

Your BOSCH MUMS6 is equipped with built-in scales. For accurate measurements, ensure the appliance’s feet are standing properly on a non-vibrating work surface, with no objects underneath the unit.

1. In the main menu, use < or > to select “Scale” and confirm with OK. The scales will calibrate and the display will show “0”.

2. If wished, use ∨ to select another unit and confirm with OK.

3. Add the ingredients to the bowl or a fitted accessory. The display shows the filling quantity.

4. To set the scales back to “0” (tare) and weigh further ingredients separately, press Ø and wait for calibration.

Tip: When the swivel arm is in a horizontal position, containers can be placed on the weighing area and weighed.

For optimal results with the automatic programmes on your BOSCH MUMS6, please note the following:

• The beating whisk must be correctly adjusted.

• Do not add more food once a programme has started.

• Do not re-process ingredients that have already been processed with an automatic programme.

• Only use fresh eggs. The programme is not suitable for alternatives like aquafaba.

• For beaten egg white, the tool and bowl must be clean and free of grease.

• Only process cream that has been cooled to approx. 6 °C and has a fat content of 30-36%.

• Do not add sugar or flavourings until the automatic programme for cream or egg white has ended.

• Dough programmes require a sufficient quantity of liquid ingredients.

• The “Yeast dough and sourdough” programme interrupts kneading for approx. 15 minutes to allow the dough to prove.

• For “Cake mixture” and “Shortcrust pastry” programmes, use butter or margarine at room temperature, cut into 2 cm cubes.

To keep your BOSCH MUMS6 working efficiently, clean it regularly. Clean all parts immediately after use so that residues do not dry on.

Cleaning Products:

• Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol or spirits.

• Do not use sharp, pointed, or metal objects.

• Do not use abrasive cloths or cleaning agents.

• Only clean the control panel and display with a damp microfibre cloth.

Tip: If plastic parts become discoloured (e.g., from carrots), remove the discolouration with a soft cloth and a few drops of cooking oil.

Cleaning Overview:

If your BOSCH MUMS6 is not working, check the following:

• The mains plug of the power cord is not plugged in.
Connect the appliance to the power supply.

• The circuit breaker in the fuse box has tripped.
Check the circuit breaker in the fuse box.

• There has been a power cut.
Check whether the lighting in your room or other appliances are working.

If your BOSCH MUMS6 does not start processing, the rotary switch may be set incorrectly. Set the rotary switch to O before starting to process.

If the swivel arm cannot be opened or closed because the tool is jammed in the bowl, the drive is not in the parked position.

1. Set the rotary switch to O.

2. If the swivel arm doesn’t close, remove the tool.

3. Close the swivel arm until it is correctly engaged in the work position.

4. Set the rotary switch briefly to 1 and then back to O. The drive will run for a short time until the parked position is reached.

If the beating whisk touches the bowl or ingredients are not mixed properly, the distance to the bowl is not set correctly. You need to correct the fine adjustment of the beating whisk.

An error code like “E102” on the display indicates that the electronics have detected a fault.

1. Set the rotary switch to O and pull out the mains plug.

2. Re-insert the mains plug in the socket.

3. If the fault persists, call Customer Service.

The “INSERT BOWL” message appears if the bowl is not inserted or not engaged correctly. Insert the bowl and turn it anticlockwise as far as possible.

This message appears if the swivel arm is not engaged properly or has become detached.

1. Set the rotary switch to O.

2. Move the swivel arm until it engages correctly.

This message can have different causes.

1. Set the rotary switch to O.

2. If the fault persists, call Customer Service.

This message indicates that the drive is not in the parked position.

1. Set the rotary switch to O.

2. When the swivel arm is open, remove the tool and close the swivel arm.

3. Set the rotary switch briefly to 1 and then back to O. The drive will remain on for a short time until the parked position is reached.

This message appears if there is no protective drive cover or accessory fitted to drive 3.

1. Place the protective drive cover on drive 3 and secure it by turning clockwise.

2. Or, fit an accessory to drive 3 and check that it is positioned correctly.

This message indicates the touch display is soiled or has been accidentally activated.

1. Clean the display with a damp microfibre cloth.

2. Make sure that no objects touch the display accidentally.

This message means the motor has overheated.

1. Set the rotary switch to O.

2. If you are processing a large quantity of ingredients, reduce the quantity to prevent overheating.

3. If a tool or accessory is blocked, remove the blockage.

4. Allow the appliance to cool down to deactivate the overload protection device.

This message indicates that the calibration of the scales has failed.

1. Set up the appliance on a flat, clean work surface free of vibrations.

2. Check there are no objects under the appliance.

3. Press Ø to start calibration again, taking care not to touch the appliance during calibration.

These messages indicate that the quantity of ingredients is outside the measuring range of the scales.

• “MAX. WEIGHT REACHED”: The quantity of ingredients is above the measuring range. Observe the maximum weight of 5000 g or 11.00 lb and reduce the total weight to be weighed.

• “MIN. WEIGHT REACHED”: The quantity of ingredients is below the measuring range. Observe the minimum weight of 5 g or 0.01 lb and increase the total weight to be weighed. If the issue persists, ensure the appliance is set up correctly on a flat, clean work surface free of vibrations, with no objects underneath it.
