To ensure safe operation of your BOSCH MAFS24, please follow these instructions:

• Read the instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.

• This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities if they are supervised or have been instructed on safe use.

• Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are at least 8 years old and supervised.

• Keep children under the age of 8 away from the appliance and power cable.

• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains after each use, when unsupervised, before cleaning, and in the event of an error.

• Never operate a damaged appliance or one with a cracked or fractured surface.

• If the appliance or power cord is damaged, immediately unplug the power cord or switch off the fuse in the fuse box.

• Do not pull on the power cord to unplug the appliance. Always unplug at the mains.

• Repairs should only be carried out by trained specialist staff using genuine spare parts.

• Never immerse the appliance or power cord in water or clean it in the dishwasher.

• Never expose the appliance to intense heat or humidity.

• Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.

• Keep the power cord away from hot appliance parts, heat sources, and sharp points or edges.

• Never kink, crush, or modify the power cord.

• Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on.

• If dark smoke comes out of the appliance, disconnect it from the mains immediately. Do not take the basket out until the smoke has decreased.

Only use the BOSCH MAFS24 air fryer for its intended purpose:

• With genuine parts.

• For warming, cooking, baking, and frying with hot air.

• For normal processing quantities and times for domestic use.

• In private households and in enclosed spaces at room temperature.

• Up to an altitude of max. 2000 m above sea level.

Proper setup is crucial for the safe use of your BOSCH MAFS24:

• Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, flat, and heat-resistant work surface.

• Always maintain a safety distance of at least 10 cm to walls and other objects to avoid a build-up of heat.

• Never place the appliance on or near hot surfaces or flammable materials (e.g., curtains, tablecloths).

• Never cover the appliance or set other objects down on it.

• Do not store or deposit objects in the basket or the cooking compartment.

• Connect the appliance to a power supply with alternating current only via a properly installed socket with earthing, in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.

• Never equip the appliance with an external switching device, e.g., a timer or remote control.

The BOSCH MAFS24 becomes hot during operation. Follow these precautions:

• Never touch the hot surfaces.

• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or transporting it.

• Never reach into the hot cooking compartment.

• Never touch the hot grill rack or skewers with bare hands. Use suitable tools like potholders or cooking utensils.

• Be careful when taking out the basket, as hot air and steam may escape.

• Do not lean over the appliance.

• Always keep your hands and face away from the air outlets.

To prevent damage to your BOSCH MAFS24, please observe the following:

• Do not use sharp, pointed, or metal cooking utensils. Only use utensils made of wood or heat-resistant plastic.

• Place the skewers in the basket carefully to avoid scratching or damaging it.

• Never stand the hot basket on heat-sensitive surfaces. Use a heat-resistant base underneath, such as a heat mat.

• Never fill water or other liquids into the basket.

• Never use the grill rack or skewers in the microwave.

• To prevent the development of acrylamide, do not cook food until it is too dark and remove any burnt residues.

• Never heat fresh potatoes to over 180 °C.

Before the first use, prepare your BOSCH MAFS24 by following these steps:

1. Remove all packaging material.

2. Remove any stickers or film.

3. With a window open, allow the appliance to heat up without food for 30 minutes at the highest temperature setting, and then let it cool down. Note: Slight smoke or odor emission during initial use is normal.

4. Clean all parts that will come into contact with food.

Follow these steps to begin cooking with your BOSCH MAFS24:

1. Take the basket out, place the grid in the basket, and press it down. The spacers on the grid must be facing down. Never fill food beyond the upper edge of the basket.

2. Add the food to the basket and push the basket fully into the appliance.

3. Insert the mains plug. A signal tone will sound, and the control panel will become active. The display will show the preset temperature and cooking time for manual cooking.

4. To use a preset programme, press the required symbol on the control panel (e.g., French fries). The programme symbol will flash, and the display will show the preset temperature and cooking time for that programme.

5. To return to manual cooking mode, press the flashing programme symbol again.

6. Adjust the temperature or cooking time using the “+” or “-” buttons.

7. Press the Start/Pause button to begin cooking. The display will alternately show the selected temperature and the remaining cooking time.

To ensure an even cooking result, certain foods should be turned halfway through the cooking time.

1. Take the basket out of the appliance halfway through the cooking time. Cooking will pause, and the display will show “OPEN” as long as the basket is removed.

2. Shake the food in the basket. For large or delicate items, use cooking utensils made of wood or heat-resistant plastic to turn them.

3. Push the basket fully back into the appliance. Cooking will continue automatically.

1. When cooking has ended, “End” will flash on the display, an acoustic signal will sound, and all symbols on the control panel will light up.

2. Take the basket with the cooked food out of the appliance.

3. For food that has not given off any excess fat (e.g., french fries), you can shake it out of the basket or remove it with a cooking utensil.

4. For food that has given off excess fat (e.g., marbled meat), take it out of the basket with a cooking utensil. To prevent fat from running onto the cooked food, do not tip the basket. Dispose of the hot excess fat carefully or let it cool down in the basket.

The grilling set allows you to grill food on the rack or cook skewers.

To cook food on the grill rack:

1. Place the grid in the basket.

2. Place the grill rack in the basket.

3. Place the food on the grill rack.

4. Push the basket fully into the appliance and start cooking.

To cook skewers:

1. Place the grid in the basket.

2. Place the grill rack in the basket.

3. Place the prepared skewers into the designated recesses on the grill rack.

4. Push the basket fully into the appliance and start cooking.

The BOSCH MAFS24 offers 9 preset programmes. The values are recommendations and may vary based on the food’s origin, size, shape, and brand.

• If the size of the food differs from the table, shorten or lengthen the cooking time.

• If the food is not cooked after the selected time, extend the cooking time or increase the temperature.

• To ensure an even result, shake or turn the food in the basket halfway through the cooking time.

• If the food is not as crispy as desired, apply a little oil before cooking (e.g., with a brush or oil spray) and allow excess to drip away.

Clean all parts immediately after use so that residues do not dry. Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol or spirits, sharp objects, or abrasive cloths.

1. Clean the main unit with a damp cloth and dry. Use a damp microfibre cloth for the display.

2. If necessary, clean the cooking compartment with hot water and a soft cloth or sponge.

3. Remove remnants of food on the heating element with a soft brush.

4. Remove any excess fat and oil from the basket.

5. For stubborn fat residues, add hot water and a few drops of washing-up liquid to the basket to pre-clean it and let it act.

6. Clean the basket and the grid with detergent solution and a soft cloth or sponge, or put them in the dishwasher.

If the appliance is not working, it may have no power supply. Check whether your appliance is supplied with power.

The BOSCH MAFS24 saves the cooking process for a certain period. If the power supply is interrupted, unplug the mains plug. Once power is restored, plug it back in. The aborted cooking process will resume. You can then allow it to run until the end, press the pause button to change settings, or cancel the process. Note: If the power supply was interrupted for a prolonged period, the cooking process will not resume automatically.

This indicates that the basket has not been properly inserted into the appliance. Push the basket fully into the appliance. The basket should not protrude from the housing.

There may be food or objects in the cooking compartment. Remove any food or objects from the compartment. Be aware that items in the cooking compartment become hot during cooking; use heat-resistant utensils and proceed with care.

An error code indicates that the electronics have detected a fault. Try the following steps:

1. Pull out the mains plug.

2. Re-insert the mains plug into the socket.

Dripping fat and residues of fat in the basket or cooking compartment produce white smoke during heating. This does not affect the cooking result or the appliance. To prevent this, clean the basket, grid, and cooking compartment thoroughly after each use to remove all residues of fat.
