General Use:

• This device is for domestic use only. Do not use it for any other purposes.

• Never leave the product connected to the power source without supervision.

• Be careful when working, concentrate on your work, and use common sense. Do not use the tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.

• The appliance must not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.

• Additional precautions should be taken when using this device in the presence of children or pets. Do not allow children to play with the device.

• Before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the power tool, move the switch to the off position to disconnect it from the power supply.

Environment and Placement:

• Keep your workplace tidy and well lit. Disorder and insufficient lighting can lead to accidents.

• Do not use power tools in explosive atmospheres, i.e., in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.

• Do not place the device near sources of heat, flame, an electric heating element, or a hot oven.

• Never expose the product to atmospheric conditions such as direct sunlight or rain. Never use the product in humid conditions (like a bathroom or camping house).

• Ensure that the vents are free from debris. The device may only be used in a dry, well-lit environment.

Power and Cords:

• When unplugging the power cord from an electrical outlet, hold it by the plug only and remove the plug carefully. Never pull the cable, as it may cause damage to the plug or power cord, leading to an electrocution hazard.

• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a counter or touch any hot surface.

• A residual current protection device (RCD) with a rated current not exceeding 30 mA must be used as protection against shock from the supply voltage.

The BLAUPUNKT HT5010 garden tool is intended for home use for trimming and cutting hedges and decorative shrubs in gardens. Do not use the trimmer for cutting branches with a thickness of more than 20 mm.

Before using the BLAUPUNKT HT5010, perform the following checks:

1. The cutting elements should always be free of dirt. Clean the blades after each use.

2. Ensure clean blades interoperate correctly to reduce the risk of jamming.

3. Keep the cutting element away from your body and the power cord when cutting.

4. Do not remove jammed material while the blades are operating. Always unplug the device from the socket before removing jammed material to prevent accidental start-up.

5. Check the technical condition of the cutting blade before each use. Chipped, bent, or otherwise damaged blades are dangerous and should be replaced.

6. Before starting work, make sure there are no foreign objects in the hedge, such as wires or fence elements, which could damage the cutting blades.

Hand guard check: First, check that the hand guard is correctly and firmly installed before starting work to ensure it cannot accidentally slide off.

Turning on: Press the power switch (3) of the front handle and the power switch (1) of the rear handle simultaneously.

Turning off: Release either of the power switches (3) or (1). The blade brake will stop the teeth.

Hedge Trimming Technique:

• Select branches with a diameter greater than 20 mm and cut them with secateurs before starting work with the trimmer.

• It is recommended to start trimming the hedge from the sides.

• First, move the trimmer from the top to the bottom to remove the main shoots.

• Then, correct the lines by moving the trimmer upwards.

• After trimming the sides of the hedge, you can start trimming its top.

When operating the BLAUPUNKT HT5010, you should wear the following personal protective equipment:

• Wear safety glasses according to EN166.

• Use protective masks in accordance with EN149.

• Use other types of proper personal protective equipment, depending on the type of work involved.

• The operator should wear proper footwear with non-slip soles and long trousers to protect the legs. Do not work barefoot or in flip-flops/sandals.

• Do not work in loose clothing and do not wear jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your BLAUPUNKT HT5010.

• After each use, clean the cutting blades to keep them free of dirt.

• Do not use solid grease for lubricating the bar.

• In addition to cleaning, the cutting blade also requires light lubrication after each use. Use maintenance oil, thin general-purpose lubricating oil, or special spray cleaning and lubricating agents.

• Keep grip surfaces dry, clean, and free of oil and grease.
