General Use:

• Do not use the TV set immediately after unpacking. Wait until it warms up to room temperature.

• To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or damage, do not expose the TV to dust, rain, or moisture. Never expose it to dripping or splashing, and do not place objects filled with liquids on or near the TV.

• To prevent the spread of fire, keep candles or other open flames away from this product at all times.

• In case of an electrostatic discharge (ESD), the TV may display incorrect functions. If this happens, switch the TV off and then back on. It will work normally.

• This TV set is for domestic use only and should be used in moderate climates.

Placement and Installation:

• Never place the television on an unstable location. A television may fall, causing serious personal injury or death.

• Always use cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer.

• Do not place the television in a confined space. Do not obstruct the ventilation openings at the rear.

• When installing on a wall, ensure the TV is at least 5cm from the wall for ventilation.

• Always ensure ventilation openings are not covered with items like newspapers, tablecloths, or curtains.

• Place the television on a flat, level surface, avoiding areas subject to strong vibration.

• Ensure the TV is not placed on top of the power cable, as its weight may damage the cable.

Connections and Devices:

• Do not connect any external devices (like DVD players or game consoles) while the TV is switched on. Disconnect both the TV and the device from the mains before connecting them.

• To avoid interference, do not place mobile phones, speakers, or any other devices that may cause magnetic or radio interference near the television. If interference is apparent, move the device away from the TV.

Power and Safety:

• This appliance is fitted with a fused 3-pin mains plug. If the fuse needs replacement, ensure the replacement is of the same amperage and approved with the BSI mark.

• To disconnect the set from the mains, remove the mains plug from the socket. Ensure the plug is always easily accessible.

Hearing Safety:

• Excessive noise when using earphones and headphones can cause loss of hearing.

To clean your BLAUPUNKT 32-138M-GB-11B4-EGQPX-UK, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth dipped in a soap and water solution or a weak detergent solution. Never use alcohol, paint thinner, or benzene to clean the unit. If water or other liquid enters the television through the display panel surface, a malfunction may occur.

“Screen burn,” also known as a “shadow image,” is a permanent deterioration of the LCD/LED panel caused by the extended use of fixed image program material. This “shadow image” can appear in the background during normal viewing and is not repairable under warranty.

To limit this effect on your BLAUPUNKT 32-138M-GB-11B4-EGQPX-UK, follow these steps:

1. Reduce the brightness/contrast setting to a minimum suitable viewing level.

2. Do not display a fixed image for extended periods.

3. Turn the power off when not in use.

Examples of images that are more likely to cause screen burn include:

• TV channel logos, especially bright and stationary ones like those on shopping channels.

• Time displays.

• Teletext (do not view a stationary page for a long period).

• TV/DVD menus.

• Pause mode (do not leave the TV in pause mode for long periods).

It is recommended to save your box and packaging in the event of warranty/service repair or support.

To attach the stand feet to your BLAUPUNKT 32-138M-GB-11B4-EGQPX-UK, you will need a cross-head screwdriver and the 4 screws provided.

1. Place the TV set on a flat and clean surface with the panel facing downwards to avoid damage.

2. Fix the stand feet to the underside of the TV. When installed correctly, the longest part of the feet will be at the front of the TV, and the shortest part will be at the back, with the feet pointing away from each other.

3. Secure the stand feet to the underside of the TV set using the 4 screws provided.

You can secure your BLAUPUNKT 32-138M-GB-11B4-EGQPX-UK using anti-tip straps or by wall mounting it.

Using Anti-Tip Straps:

1. Using one or both of the top wall-mounting holes and the screws already supplied in them, fasten one end of the fastening cord/s to the TV.

2. Secure the other end of the fastening cord/s to your wall. You will need screws/fixings suitable for your wall type, which are available separately from most DIY stores.

Wall Mounting:

Before drilling any holes, ensure you are not drilling where there could be any electrical wires, water, or gas pipes.

1. Remove the four screws that are supplied in the wall mounting holes on the rear of the TV.

2. The wall mount can now be easily attached to the mounting holes on the rear of the TV.

For VESA wall mounting information, please refer to the Technical Specification section.

Important: Only use the screws already provided in the wall mounting holes. Using other, longer screws could cause irreparable damage to internal parts. When using a wall bracket, ensure the screws in the back of the TV set are not over-tightened.

The TV control stick is located on the back of the TV in the left bottom corner. Its functions vary depending on the TV’s state:

When the TV is in standby mode:

• Press the center of the control stick once to power on the TV set.

When watching TV:

• RIGHT/LEFT: Adjust volume up/down.

• UP/DOWN: Change channel up/down.

• Press the center of the control stick once: Displays the Menu.

• Press and hold the center of the control stick: Puts the TV in Standby Power Off mode.

When in a menu:

• RIGHT/LEFT/UP/DOWN: Navigate the cursor in on-screen menus.

• Press the center of the control stick once: OK/Confirm the selected item.

• Press and hold the center of the control stick: Go back to the previous menu.

You can switch between input sources using either the remote control or the TV control stick.

Using the remote control:

1. Press the [SOURCE] button. The source menu will appear.

2. Use the ◄ or ► buttons to select the input you require.

3. Press [OK].

Using the TV control stick:

1. Press the center of the control stick once to enter the TV menu.

2. Press the control stick left/right to navigate to the SOURCE menu.

3. Press the center of the control stick to enter the SOURCE menu.

4. Press the control stick left/right to scroll through and select the desired input/source.

5. Press the center of the control stick to select the chosen input/source option.

You can connect your BLAUPUNKT 32-138M-GB-11B4-EGQPX-UK to your home network either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable.

Wireless Connection:

1. Press MENU on the remote control.

2. Scroll to and select ‘Settings’, then enter the ‘Network’ menu.

3. In the ‘Network’ menu, scroll down and select ‘Wi-Fi Config’.

4. Within ‘Wi-Fi config’ options, highlight and select ‘Wi-Fi Auto Search’.

5. The TV will automatically search for available networks.

6. Select your preferred network from the list and enter the network password.

7. The TV will then establish a connection.

Ethernet/LAN Cable Connection:

1. Plug your Ethernet cable into the RJ45 (Ethernet) socket located at the rear of the television.

2. Press MENU on the remote control.

3. Scroll to and select ‘Settings’, then enter the ‘Network’ menu.

4. In ‘Network Configuration’, select ‘Cable’.

5. The TV will automatically configure itself.

6. Exit the menu by pressing [EXIT].

To access and navigate the TV menus:

1. Press the [MENU] button on the remote control.

2. Use the arrow buttons (▲/▼/◄/►) to scroll through the main menu categories (Picture, Sound, Channel, etc.).

3. To enter a menu, highlight it and press [OK].

4. Within a menu, use the arrow buttons to highlight an option you wish to change.

5. Use the ◄ and ► buttons to change the setting for the highlighted option.

6. Press [OK] to confirm any settings if required.

7. To exit a menu at any time, press the [EXIT] button.

The Picture Menu allows you to adjust the visual settings of your TV. The main options are:

• Picture Mode: Choose from presets like Dynamic (for fast-moving pictures), Standard, Movie (lighter in color, less bright), Personal (manually alter all settings), and Economy (power-saving mode).

• Personal Mode Adjustments:

– Contrast: Adjust the balance between black and white.

– Brightness: Increase or decrease the brightness of the picture.

– Colour: Increase or decrease the color saturation.

– Sharpness: Increase or decrease the sharpness of the picture.

• Colour Temperature: Choose from Normal (default), Warm (increases red), or Cold (increases blue).

• Aspect Ratio: Adjust how the picture fits the screen. Options include Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Full Screen, and Zoom.

• Noise Reduction: Switch noise reduction ON or OFF (presets: low, middle, high, Off).

• Active Contrast: Automatically optimizes the backlight and contrast. (presets: low, middle, high, Off).

The Sound Menu allows you to customize the audio output. The main options are:

• Sound Mode: Choose from presets like Standard (default), Music (emphasizes music over voices), Movie (live and full sound), Sports (emphasizes sound for sports), and Personal (your custom settings).

• EQ (Equaliser): Adjust the audio level of separate frequencies (only available in Personal mode).

• Balance: Switch the sound between the left and right speakers.

• Auto Volume Level (AVL): When ‘on’, the volume attempts to stay at a constant level, reducing fluctuations between programs and adverts.

• DTS TruSurround: Creates an immersive surround sound experience from the two TV speakers.

• Digital Output: Configure the digital optical audio output (Off, Auto, PCM).

• Audio Description: Switch Audio Description ON or OFF for visually impaired users.

• AD Volume: Adjust the volume of the Audio Description.

• Audio Track: Change the audio track/language.

• Audio Delay/SPDIF Delay: Adjust settings to sync picture and audio for internal or external speakers.

You can manage and tune channels via the ‘Channel’ menu, which is found inside the ‘Settings’ menu.

• Auto Tuning: This allows you to automatically retune the television for all digital channels, digital radio stations, and analogue devices.

• Analogue Manual Tuning: Allows you to manually tune your analogue signal.

• Freeview/Saorview Manual Tuning: Allows you to manually tune your digital signal.

• Freeview SMART Retune: Scans for new Freeview channels and adds them to your channel list without removing existing channels or affecting your favourites list.

• Channel Edit: Allows you to delete, move, skip, and select favourite channels.

To receive Freeview/Saorview channels, particularly HD channels, you will need a Digital TV aerial and be in a good coverage area. Any Freeview HD channels found during tuning will be placed in channel positions above 100 (e.g., 101 for BBC1 HD).

The USB record facility is available in Freeview/Soarview mode when a compatible high-speed USB memory stick or hard drive is connected. A USB stick with a read speed of 20 Mb/s and a write speed of 6 Mb/s is recommended.

Pause Live TV (Time Shift):

1. Press the play/pause (►/❚❚) button on the remote. The live content will pause and start recording.

2. To resume watching, press the play/pause button again.

3. You can use the fast forward (►►) and rewind (◄◄) buttons to navigate within the recorded content.

Note: The Time Shift memory is wiped when you switch the TV to standby or change the channel.

One Button Record:

• While watching a program you want to record, press the red [RECORD] button on the remote control.

Playback Recorded Files:

1. Ensure the TV is in the Freeview/Saorview source mode.

2. Press the [REC LIST] button on the remote control.

3. The list of recorded files will appear. Select a file and press [OK] to start playback.

Note: This television has one TV tuner, so it can only record the channel you are watching, or record one channel while the television is in standby mode. Recording is only available in Digital/Freeview TV mode.

1. Insert your USB memory stick into one of the USB ports on the TV.

2. Access the Media menu. The content will be divided into Photo, Music, Movie, and All.

3. Navigate through the menus using the scroll (▲/▼/◄/►) buttons on the remote control.

4. Select the USB drive. If your drive has only one partition, you will only see one item.

5. Navigate to the file you wish to play/view and press the [OK] button.

6. While viewing your media, you can control playback using the remote control’s media buttons (play, pause, stop, etc.) or by pressing the [INFO] button to access the on-screen playback menu.

Option 1: Connecting in the same room

Connect your Sky box to the TV using either a SCART or HDMI cable.

• If using SCART, select ‘Input source’ on the TV as SCART.

• If using HDMI, select the ‘Input source’ on the TV as HDMI, matching the port number you used on the back of the TV.

To use your Sky remote (Revision 9 or later) to operate the TV’s basic functions, you need to program it with the 4-digit code 2134.

Option 2: Connecting to a Sky box in a different room

1. Connect an RF/COAX cable from the RF or RF2 output on the Sky box to the Aerial/RF input on the second TV.

2. On the second TV, select the ‘Analogue’ input source.

3. Select a channel to store the Sky box signal on (e.g., channel 6).

4. On the TV remote, press Menu and navigate to Manual Tuning or Analogue Manual tuning.

5. Manually tune in the channel. The Sky box frequency is usually between 800Mhz and 850Mhz. Once found, press ‘OK’ to store it.

If you are not receiving all channels or the channels are breaking up, check the following:

1. Confirm you are in an area that can receive Freeview/Saorview.

2. Ensure you are using an aerial capable of receiving a good digital signal. In most cases, an outdoor digital hi-gain/wideband aerial is necessary. A portable or indoor aerial is typically not sufficient for a good enough digital signal.

3. In areas with excellent digital coverage, a loft-type aerial might work, but it is highly likely you will also need to connect a booster between the back of the TV and the TV aerial wall socket.

If the TV does not save channels when powered off, the channel database has likely become corrupt. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Remove the RF/Aerial cable from the rear of the TV and turn the TV back on again.

3. Using the remote control, press Menu followed by 8-8-8-8 to enter the initial setup/first time installation menu.

4. Press OK and let the TV run the full tuning process (it will find no channels).

5. Once completed, turn off the TV, reconnect the RF/Aerial cable, and then turn the TV back on again.

6. Repeat steps 3 and 4. The TV should now tune and store the channels correctly.

There is a master password of 4711. You can use this master password to gain access to the TV menu and reset the normal password.

Ensure that the USB Memory Key is formatted to the FAT32 file system. If you wish to use a portable hard drive larger than 32GB, it must also be formatted to FAT32 to operate with this TV. Windows XP/Vista computers are only capable of formatting up to 32GB, so you may need a separate software programme/utility to format larger hard drives.
