Warnings:

• Television sets with 40″ screens or more must be lifted and carried by at least 2 people.

• This television does not contain any parts that are serviceable by the user. In case of a fault, contact the manufacturer or authorised service department. Exposing the internal parts inside the TV may endanger your life.

• To prevent the spread of fire, keep candles or other open flames away from this product at all times.

• Do not use the TV set immediately after unpacking. Wait until the TV warms up to room temperature before using it.

• To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or damage, do not expose the TV to dust, rain, or moisture. Never expose it to dripping or splashing, and do not place objects filled with liquids on or near it.

• Do not place the television in a confined space and ensure ventilation openings at the rear are not obstructed. When installing on a wall, ensure the TV is at least 5cm from the wall for ventilation.

• Dispose of the television and any components, including batteries, in an environmentally friendly manner.

• In case of electrostatic discharge (ESD), the TV may display incorrect functions. If this happens, switch the TV off and then back on. It will work normally.

Safety:

• This appliance is fitted with a fused 3-pin mains plug. If the fuse needs replacement, use one of the same amperage approved with the BSI mark.

• Always place the television on a flat, level surface, avoiding areas subject to strong vibration.

• Ensure the television is not placed on top of the power cable.

• Never place mobile phones, speakers, or any other device which may cause magnetic or radio interference near the television. If interference is apparent, move the device away from the television.

• To disconnect the set from the mains, remove the mains plug from the socket. Ensure the mains plug is always easily accessible.

WARNING: Excessive noise when using earphones and headphones can cause loss of hearing.

Never place a television set in an unstable location. A television set may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided by taking these simple precautions:

• Use cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer of the television set.

• Only use furniture that can safely support the television set.

• Ensure the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.

• Do not place the television set on tall furniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the television set to a suitable support.

• Do not place the television set on cloth or other materials that may be located between the television set and supporting furniture.

• Please educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television set or its controls.

To clean your TV, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth dipped in a soap and water solution or a weak detergent solution. Never use alcohol, paint thinner, or benzene to clean this unit. Before using a chemically treated cloth, read the instructions that came with the cloth carefully.

CAUTION: If water or other liquid enters the television through the display panel surface, a malfunction may occur.

The extended use of fixed image program material can cause a permanent “shadow image” or “screen burn” on the LCD/LED panel. This can be limited by observing the following steps:

1. Reduce the brightness/contrast setting to a minimum suitable viewing level.

2. Do not display a fixed image for extended periods of time. Examples include TV channel logos, time displays, Teletext, TV/DVD menus, and leaving the TV in pause mode for long periods.

3. Turn the power off when not in use.

Important: Once ‘shadow image/screen burn’ occurs, it will never disappear and is not repairable under warranty.

You will need a cross head screwdriver to complete the installation.

1. Place the TV set on a flat and clean surface with the panel facing downwards to avoid damage.

2. Fix the stand feet to the underside of the TV. When installed correctly, the longer part of the feet will be at the front of the TV and the shorter part at the back, with the feet pointing away from each other.

3. Secure the stand feet to the underside of the TV set using the 4 screws provided.

For maximum security, anti-tip straps (available separately) should be fitted. Straps are designed to be attached to the rear of the TV and then tethered to the wall or the furniture the TV is stood on.

A) Using one or both of the top wall-mounting holes and screws (the screws are already supplied in the wall mounting holes), fasten one end of the fastening cord/s to the TV.

B) Secure the other end of the fastening cord/s to your wall. You will need screws/fixings suitable for your wall type, available separately from most DIY stores.

Note: Please ensure that children do not climb on the TV set.

IMPORTANT: Before drilling any holes in the wall, ensure you are not drilling where there could be any electrical wires, water, or gas pipes.

1. Remove the four screws that are supplied in the wall mounting holes on the rear of the TV.

2. The wall mount can now be easily attached to the mounting holes on the rear of the TV.

For VESA wall mounting information, the VESA pattern is 200 x 300 (mm). For optimum viewing, if wall mounting the TV higher than eye level, the TV should be tilted downwards so that the TV’s screen is ‘face on’.

Important: If wall mounting this TV, only use the screws already provided in the wall mounting holes. Using other screws which are longer could cause irreparable damage to internal parts. When using a wall bracket, please ensure the screws in the back of the TV set are not over-tightened.

• ON/OFF: Switch the TV on when in standby or vice versa.

• MUTE: Mute the sound or vice versa.

• NUMBER BUTTONS (0-9): Select a TV channel directly.

• TV GUIDE: Opens the 7 day TV guide (digital TV mode).

• RETURN (curved arrow): To return to the previous channel viewed.

• VOL (+/-): To increase/decrease the sound level.

• PICTURE: Scrolls through picture mode options.

• SOUND: Scrolls through sound mode options.

• SOURCE: To display the input/source menu.

• CH (+/-): To increase or decrease the channel being watched.

• MENU: To display OSD menu.

• EXIT: To exit all menus.

• DIRECTIONAL ARROWS / OK: Allows you to navigate on-screen menus and adjust settings.

• BACK: To go back a previous step.

• FAV: To display favourites menu.

• INFO: Press once for now/next channel information. Press twice for information about the current programme.

• TEXT: To enter/exit Text.

• SUBTITLE: To switch the dialogue at the bottom of the screen (on/off).

• TV: To switch to Digital Channels.

• YOUTUBE: Access the YouTube App.

• NETFLIX: Access the Netflix App.

• SMART: Access the Blaupunkt Smart Portal.

• RECORD (Red circle): Access the USB record function.

• REC LIST: Opens the list of what has been previously recorded.

• PLAYBACK CONTROLS (Rewind, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Stop, Previous, Next): Controls media playback.

The TV control stick is located on the back of the TV in the left bottom corner. It can be used to control many of the TV functions.

While TV is in standby mode:

• Press the centre of the control stick once – Power on the TV set.

While watching TV:

• RIGHT/LEFT – volume up/volume down

• UP/DOWN – changes channel up/down

• Press the centre of the control stick once – Displays Menu

• Press and hold the centre of the control stick – Standby Power Off

While in menu:

• RIGHT/LEFT/UP/DOWN – navigation of cursor in on-screen menus

• Press the centre of the control stick once – OK/Confirm selected item

• Press and hold the centre of the control stick – Back to previous menu

Using the remote control:

1. Press [SOURCE] – The source menu will appear.

2. Press the left or right arrow buttons to select the input you require.

3. Press [OK].

Using the TV control stick:

1. Press the centre of the control stick once to enter the TV menu.

2. Press the control stick left/right to navigate to the SOURCE menu.

3. Press the centre of the control stick to enter the SOURCE menu.

4. Press the control stick left/right to scroll through and select the input/source you require.

5. Press the centre of the control stick to select the chosen input/source option.

• Composite AV/Video device: Connect the device using the Mini AV In port. Set the TV Source to Composite/AV.

• SCART device: Connect the device using the SCART input. Set the TV source to SCART.

• HDMI device: Use an HDMI cable to connect your device to one of the HDMI ports (HDMI 1, 2, or 3). Set the TV Source to the corresponding HDMI port.

• Component/YPbPr device: Connect the RED, GREEN, and BLUE video connectors via the Mini YPbPr input and the RED & WHITE audio connectors via the Mini AV in. Set the TV Source to Component/YPbPr.

• VGA/PC: Connect your computer using a VGA cable to the VGA/PC IN port and a 3.5mm audio cable to the VGA/PC(audio in) port. Set the TV Source to VGA/PC.

• External Audio (Amplifier, Sound Bar): You have two options: 1) Connect via the 3.5mm Earphone output, which will disable the TV speakers. 2) Connect via the Digital Optical Audio Output for digital sound.

• Ethernet/Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the Ethernet port on the TV for Freeview HD services and smart functions.

1. Press the [TV GUIDE] button on the remote control. The 7 Day TV Guide will appear.

2. Navigate through the menu using the arrow buttons.

You can perform the following actions:

• View the next day by pressing BLUE.

• View a previous day by pressing YELLOW.

• Set a reminder by pressing GREEN.

• Record a programme by pressing RED (requires a connected USB device).

• View further information about a programme by pressing INFO.

3. Press [EXIT] to exit the 7 day TV Guide.

1. Press [OK] on the remote control and the channel list menu will appear.

2. Scroll through the channel list using the UP/DOWN arrow buttons, then press [OK] to view the currently highlighted channel.

3. Scroll through different types of channels (e.g., Freeview/ALL/Digital TV/Radio/Data/HD) by using the LEFT/RIGHT arrow buttons.

4. Press [EXIT] to exit the channel list.

Wireless Connection:

1. Press Menu on the remote control.

2. Navigate to ‘Settings’ then enter the ‘Network’ menu.

3. In the ‘Network’ menu, scroll down and select ‘Wi-fi Config’.

4. Within ‘Wi-Fi config’ options, highlight and select ‘Wi-Fi Auto Search’.

5. The TV will automatically search for networks.

6. Select your preferred network and enter the network password.

7. The TV will then establish a connection.

Ethernet/LAN cable Connection:

1. Plug your Ethernet cable into the RJ45 (Ethernet) socket on the rear of the television.

2. Press Menu on the remote control.

3. Navigate to ‘Settings’ then enter the ‘Network’ menu.

4. In ‘Network Configuration’, select ‘Cable’.

5. The set will automatically configure itself.

Press the [MENU] button, navigate to the PICTURE menu, and press [OK]. You can adjust the following settings:

• Picture Mode: Choose from presets like Dynamic (for fast-moving pictures), Standard, Movie (lighter colour, less bright), Personal (manual settings), and Economy (power saving mode).

• In Personal Mode, you can adjust:

– Contrast: Switch the balance between black and white.

– Brightness: Increase or decrease the brightness of the picture.

– Colour: Increases the colour from black and white.

– Sharpness: Increase or decrease the sharpness of the picture.

– Colour Temperature: Choose from Normal, Warm (increases red), or Cold (increases blue).

• Aspect Ratio: Choose from Auto, 4:3, 16:9, Full Screen, Zoom1, and Zoom 2 to best fit the broadcast.

• Noise Reduction: Reduce picture noise. Choose from low, middle, high, and Off.

• Active Contrast: Automatically optimises the backlight and contrast. Choose from low, middle, high, and Off.

Press the [MENU] button, navigate to the SOUND menu, and press [OK]. You can adjust the following settings:

• Sound Mode: Choose from presets: Standard, Music (emphasises music), Movie (live and full sound), Sports (emphasises sound for sports), or Personal (your custom settings).

• EQ: Adjust the audio level of separate frequencies via the band equaliser (only in Personal mode).

• Balance: Switch the sound between the left and right speakers.

• Auto Volume Level (AVL): When ‘on’, the volume will attempt to stay at a constant level.

• DTS TruSurround: Choose Off or TruSurround to create an immersive surround sound experience.

• Digital Output: For the optical output. Choose from Off, Auto, or PCM (for stereo hi-fi connection).

• Audio Description: Switch Audio Description ON or OFF for visually impaired users.

• AD Volume: Adjust the volume level of the Audio Description.

• Audio Track: Change the audio track/language.

• Audio Delay / SPDIF Delay: Adjust settings to sync picture and audio for TV speakers or external speakers.

This menu is part of the ‘Settings’ menu. Press [MENU], scroll to ‘Settings’, press [OK], then navigate to the CHANNEL menu.

• Auto Tuning: Retunes the television for all digital channels, radio stations, and analogue devices.

• Analogue Manual Tuning: Manually tune your analogue signal.

• Freeview/Saorview Manual Tuning: Manually tune your digital signal.

• Freeview SMART Retune: Scans for new Freeview channels and adds them to your list without removing existing channels.

• Channel Edit: Allows you to delete, move, skip, and select favourite channels.

• Signal Information: View signal frequency, quality, and strength.

• CI Information: For use with a CAM and “smartcard” for pay-per-view services.

• Schedule List: Lists your programme reminders.

• Software Update (OAD): Switch on/off over-air-download software updates.

This menu is part of the ‘Settings’ menu. The default password is 0000.

• System Lock: Lock or unlock the menu. Requires a 4-digit password.

• Set Password: Change the password.

• Channel Lock: Lock certain channels manually.

• Parental Guidance: Set a rating to block content based on age information.

• Key Lock: Lock the buttons on the side of the TV set.

• Source Lock: Lock the source menu.

• Hotel Mode: Additional settings for hospitality environments.

Press the [SMART] button on your remote to access the Blaupunkt Smart Portal. This portal provides access to a variety of apps and multimedia via the internet. Featured apps like Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and YouTube have dedicated buttons on the remote for quick access.

The “More Apps” menu provides access to other smart features, including:

• BBC iPlayer: Catch up on your favourite BBC TV programmes.

• BBC News: Access up-to-the-minute news reports.

• BBC Sport: Get the latest sports news, live action, and scores.

• Weather: Keep track of the weather with the AccuWeather app.

• Web Browser: Access websites via the internet.

• Miracast (screen mirroring): Mirror content from a compatible device like a tablet or smartphone onto the TV screen.

1. Insert your USB memory stick into a USB port on the TV.

2. The Media menu should appear. If not, press [SOURCE] and select USB. The content will be divided into Photo, Music, Movie, and All.

3. Navigate through the menus using the arrow buttons on the remote control.

4. To confirm the item you wish to play/view, press the [OK] button.

5. While viewing your media, you can control playback using the remote control buttons (Play, Pause, etc.) or by pressing [INFO] to access the on-screen playback menu.

Note: USB extension cables are not recommended as they can cause a reduction in picture/audio quality and stoppages during playback.

This function is available in Freeview/Saorview mode and requires a compatible high-speed USB memory stick or USB hard drive.

Pause Live TV (Time Shift):

• Press the play/pause button on the remote. The live TV will pause, and the content will be recorded. Press play/pause again to resume watching.

• You can use the fast forward and rewind buttons to navigate within the recorded buffer.

• Tip: When you switch the TV to standby or change the channel, the Time Shift memory is wiped.

One Button Record:

• To record the current programme you are watching, press the red RECORD button on the remote control.

Playback files from Record list:

• Ensure the TV is in Freeview/Saorview source mode.

• Press the [REC LIST] button on the remote control.

• The recorded list will appear. Select a file and press OK to start playback.

Note: This television has one TV tuner, so it can only record the channel you are watching or record one channel while the television is in standby mode. USB recording is only available in Digital/Freeview TV mode.

Option 1: Connecting in the same room

Connect your Sky Box to the TV using an HDMI or SCART cable. Select the corresponding input source on the TV (e.g., HDMI 1 or SCART).

Using a Sky remote to operate the TV:

If you wish to use your Sky remote (Revision 9 or later) to operate the basic functions of your TV, you need to program a 4-digit code into it. The code required for this television is 2134.

1. Check you are in an area that can receive Freeview/Saorview.

2. Check you are using an aerial that is able to receive a good digital signal. In most cases, you will need an outdoor digital high-gain/wideband aerial. In areas with excellent digital coverage, a loft type aerial might work, but you will likely need a booster between the TV and the aerial wall socket. It is generally not possible to receive a good enough digital signal with a portable/indoor type aerial.

If the TV does not save channels when you power it off, the channel database has likely become corrupt. Follow these steps to resolve it:

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Remove the RF/Aerial cable from the rear of the TV and then turn the TV back on again.

3. Using the remote control, press Menu followed by 8-8-8-8 to enter the initial setup/first time installation menu.

4. Press OK and let the TV run the full tuning process without the aerial connected.

5. Once completed, turn off the TV, reconnect the RF/Aerial cable, then turn the TV back on again.

6. Repeat steps 3 & 4 with the aerial connected.

There is a master password of 4711. You can use this to gain access to the TV menu and reset your normal password.

Ensure the USB Memory Key is formatted to the FAT32 file system. For portable hard drives larger than 32GB, they must also be formatted to FAT32 to operate on this TV. Windows XP/Vista computers are only capable of formatting up to 32GB, so you may need a separate software utility to format larger hard drives.

Freeview HD channels found during tuning will be placed in channel positions above 100. For example, 101 (BBC1 HD), 102 (BBC2 HD), etc.

The YouTube app requires the TV to be set with the correct date and time. Please see the ‘Time Menu’ for further instructions. Also, ensure your network is not blocking access to YouTube and that the speed of your internet connection is fast enough for viewing YouTube content.
