What are the general safety instructions for using the BEKO DRX 837WI dryer?

Please adhere to the following safety instructions:

• The BEKO DRX 837WI can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use.

• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• Adjustable feet should not be removed. The gap between the dryer and the floor should not be reduced with materials such as carpet, wood, and tape, as this can cause problems.

• Always have installation and repairing procedures carried out by an Authorized Service. The manufacturer is not liable for damages from procedures carried out by unauthorized persons.

• Never wash the BEKO DRX 837WI by spraying or pouring water onto it due to the risk of electric shock.

What are the electrical safety guidelines for the BEKO DRX 837WI dryer?

• Connect the BEKO DRX 837WI to a grounded outlet protected by a fuse at the value specified on the type label. The grounding installation must be performed by a qualified electrician.

• The voltage and allowed fuse protection are stated on the type label plate. This voltage must be equal to your mains voltage.

• Do not use extension cords, multi-plugs, or adaptors to connect the dryer to the power supply.

• The power cable plug must be easily accessible after installation.

• If the mains cable is damaged, it must be changed by an Authorized Service.

• If the dryer is faulty, it must not be operated until repaired by an authorized service agent.

• Unplug the dryer when it is not in use and during installation, maintenance, cleaning, and repair work.

• Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Never unplug by pulling on the cable; always pull out by grabbing the plug.

• The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by a utility.

What types of laundry items should not be dried in the BEKO DRX 837WI due to fire hazard?

The following items must not be dried in the BEKO DRX 837WI due to a fire hazard:

• Unwashed laundry items.

• Items soiled with oil, acetone, alcohol, fuel oil, kerosene, stain removers, turpentine, paraffin, petrol, or wax removers. These must be washed in hot water with plenty of detergent before being dried.

• Garments or pillows bolstered with rubber foam (latex foam), shower bonnets, water-resistant textiles, materials with rubber reinforcement, and rubber foam pads.

• Clothing cleaned with industrial chemicals.

• Underwear that contains metal reinforcements should not be dried in the dryer, as they can come loose and damage the appliance.

Also, ensure items such as lighters, matches, coins, metal parts, needles, etc., are removed from laundry before drying to prevent damage to the drum.

Can the BEKO DRX 837WI dryer be installed on top of a washing machine?

Yes, but a special fixing device must be used between the two machines, installed by an authorized service agent. A washing machine cannot be placed on top of the dryer. The total weight of both appliances with a full load is approximately 180 kg, so they must be placed on a solid floor with sufficient load-carrying capacity.

Please refer to the following table for compatible washing machine depths:

Dryer Depth Washing Machine Depth
62 cm 60 cm 54 cm < 50 cm
54 cm Can be installed Cannot be installed
60 cm Can be installed Cannot be installed

How do I connect the BEKO DRX 837WI dryer directly to a water drain?

You can directly drain accumulated water through the water drain hose instead of periodically emptying the water tank. Follow these steps:

1. Pull the hose at the back of the dryer by hand to disconnect it from where it is connected. Do not use any tools.

2. Connect one end of the drain hose supplied with the dryer to the connection point from where you removed the product’s hose.

3. Connect the other end of the drain hose directly to the wastewater drain or to the washbasin.

Note: The water drain hose should be attached at a maximum height of 80 cm. Ensure the hose is not stepped on or folded between the drain and the machine.

What are some tips for energy saving with the BEKO DRX 837WI dryer?

• Spin your laundry at the highest possible speed when washing. This shortens the drying time and reduces energy consumption.

• Sort laundry depending on type and thickness. Dry the same type of laundry together. For example, thin kitchen towels dry earlier than thick bathroom towels.

• Follow the instructions in the user manual for program selection.

• Do not open the loading door during drying unless necessary. If you must open it, do not keep it open for a long time.

• Do not add wet laundry while the dryer is in operation.

• Clean the lint filter periodically.

• For models with a condenser unit, clean the condenser once a month or after every 30 operations.

• During the drying process, ensure the room where the dryer is operating is well-ventilated.

The child lock must be deactivated to start a new program or to interfere with the current one. The child lock warning indicator on the screen turns on when it is activated.

Can I add or remove clothes from the BEKO DRX 837WI after a program has started?

Yes, you can add or remove clothes during the stand-by phase. Here’s how:

1. Press the Start/Stand-by button to put the dryer in Stand-by state. The drying operation will stop.

2. Open the loading door, then add or remove laundry.

3. Close the door.

4. Press the Start/Stand-by button to resume the program.

Note: Adding laundry after the drying operation has started may cause dried laundry inside the machine to mix with wet laundry, leaving the entire load damp at the end. Continuously interrupting the drying operation increases program duration and energy consumption.

How do I clean the lint filter on the BEKO DRX 837WI?

After each drying cycle, clean the fibre filter and the inner surface of the loading door.

1. Open the loading door.

2. Hold the first part (inner filter) of the two-part fibre filter and remove it by pulling it upwards.

3. Remove the second part (outer filter) by pulling it upwards.

4. Collect the hair, fibres, and cotton balls from both filters with your hand or a soft cloth. You can also clean them under water running in the reverse direction of fibre accumulation or with a soft brush.

5. Dry the filter before placing it back.

6. Insert the fibre filters on one another and place them back in their place.

How do I drain the water tank and clean the evaporator on the BEKO DRX 837WI?

Draining the Water Tank:

Drain the water tank after each drying cycle. Condensed water is not drinkable.

1. Remove the water tank in the drawer or container carefully.

2. Drain the water in the tank.

3. If there is lint accumulation in the funnel of the water tank, clean it under running water.

4. Place the water tank back into its seat.

Cleaning the Evaporator:

Clean the evaporator when the evaporator icon is flashing or every 6 months.

1. Open the toe board by pressing on it.

2. To open the air routing door, move the release latch.

3. Clean the fibres on the evaporator fins with a damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a brush, moving upwards and downwards. Wear protective gloves as the fins can be sharp.

4. After cleaning, place the air router door back in its place, move the latches to close it, and close the toe board.

Why does the drying operation take too long on my BEKO DRX 837WI?

There are several possible reasons for a long drying cycle:

• The fibre filter pores may be clogged. Wash the filters with warm water and dry them.

• The evaporator front side may be clogged. Clean the front side of the evaporator.

• Ventilation grills in front of the machine may be blocked. Remove any objects blocking the grills.

• The room may have inadequate ventilation. Open a door or windows to prevent the room temperature from rising too high.

• A lime layer may have accumulated on the humidity sensor. Clean the humidity sensor.

• The dryer might be overloaded. Do not load the machine excessively.

• The laundry might not have been wrung adequately in the washing machine. Perform a higher speed wringing on your washing machine.

What should I do if my clothes come out damp after drying in the BEKO DRX 837WI?

If your clothes are still damp, check the following:

• A program not suitable for the laundry type may have been used. Check the maintenance labels on the clothes and select a suitable program, or use time programs as an extra.

• The fibre filter pores may be clogged. Wash the filters with warm water and dry.

• The evaporator front side may be clogged. Clean the front side of the evaporator.

• The dryer might have been loaded with an excessive amount of laundry. Do not overload the dryer.

• The laundry might not have been wrung sufficiently. Perform a higher speed wringing on your washing machine.

Why won’t my BEKO DRX 837WI dryer turn on or start a program?

If the dryer does not start, check these points:

• The power plug might be unplugged. Make sure the power cord is plugged in.

• The loading door might be open. Ensure the loading door is properly closed.

• A program might not be set or the Start/Pause/Cancel button might not have been pressed. Check that the program is set and is not in the Pause position.

• The child lock may be activated. Turn off the child lock.

What do the warning symbols on the BEKO DRX 837WI display mean?

Water tank warning symbol is on/flashing: The water tank may be full. Empty the water tank. If connected to a direct drain, check that the discharge hose has not collapsed.

Anti-crease icon is lit: The Anti-Crease mode, which prevents laundry from wrinkling, may be activated. Turn the dryer off and remove the laundry.

Fibre filter cleaning icon is lit: The fibre filter may be unclean. Wash the filters with warm water and dry. Also, ensure the filters are inserted correctly.

Evaporator warning icon is flashing: The evaporator front side may be clogged with fibres. Clean the front side of the evaporator. Also, check that the fibre filters are inserted.
