How do I perform the first-time setup on my ASKO dishwasher?

When the dishwasher is switched on for the first time, the display shows: “Welcome to your new ASKO dishwasher. This is a first time setup.” It is important to choose the right settings to ensure good dishwashing results. 1. Open the door. Press On/Off (power symbol). 2. Select settings using the < or > buttons. 3. Confirm the selected setting with the Menu/Confirm button (symbol with three horizontal lines). The basic settings to configure are:
  • Language: Select the language to be shown on the display.
  • Rinse aid (0/1/2/3/4/5, Pre-selected: 4): Using rinse aid improves drying results and achieves better dishwashing results with glassware and dishes. Adjust the dispenser between 0 (Off) and 5 (High dose).
  • TAB (On/Off, Pre-selected: Off): Activate this setting when using an all-in-one detergent that contains rinse aid. This setting reduces the rinse aid dose from the separate compartment.
  • Auto dose (0 ml – 40 ml, Pre-selected: 0 ml (Off)): Activate this setting if you want to use automatic doses of detergent gel. The exact dose depends on the program and, for the Auto program, how dirty the dishes are.
To change these settings later, see the chapter “Settings”.

How do I top up the rinse aid?

Top up the rinse aid compartment if you have selected a Rinse aid setting from 1 to 5. The “Top up rinse aid” symbol (*) will appear on the display when it needs refilling. 1. Open the rinse aid compartment lid by lifting it up. 2. Carefully top up the rinse aid to the marked level MAX. 3. Wipe up any splashes of rinse aid around the compartment. 4. Close the lid firmly by pressing it down until it clicks. Note: For water with a hardness greater than 10–12 °dH, consider using rinse aid with citric acid (acid rinse aid).

How do I top up the automatic dose compartment with detergent gel?

Fill the automatic dose compartment with dishwasher detergent gel if you have activated the Auto dose setting. The “Top up auto dose” symbol will appear on the display when it needs refilling. 1. Open the lid of the automatic dose compartment (marked GEL ONLY) by lifting the release tab. 2. Carefully add dishwasher detergent gel up to the level marked MAX. 3. Clean up any excess dishwasher detergent gel outside the compartment. 4. Close the lid firmly. NOTE!
  • Use only dishwasher detergent gel in the automatic dose compartment. Do not use powder or washing up liquid.
  • Some thick dishwasher detergent gels are not suitable for the automatic dose compartment. Add very thick gel to the manual detergent compartment instead.
  • Detergent gel is milder than powder/all-in-one detergents. For tough stains like lipstick or tea/coffee, you might need to add powder or all-in-one detergent with bleach to the manual compartment (even when Auto dose is active). See “Add detergent”.
Dishwasher detergent gel is dispensed during the main wash for all programs except Self-cleaning. A small amount is also dosed during the pre-wash in Auto, Flexi, Intensive, and Time programs (2:00, 2:30).

How can I achieve greener dishwashing?

  • Save energy and water: Residential dishwashers generally use less energy and water than hand washing.
  • Do not rinse under running water: Simply scrape off large food particles before loading. Rinsing increases energy and water consumption.
  • Choose a green detergent: Check the environmental declaration on the packaging. Using too much detergent and rinse aid can be less effective and impact the environment.
  • Run a fully loaded dishwasher: Wait until the dishwasher is full to save energy and water. Use the Rinse and hold program or Anti-odour program for dirty dishes waiting for a full load.
  • Run programs at a lower temperature: Select a program with a low temperature if dishes are only slightly dirty.
  • Select dishwashing program – Eco: This program is designed for normally soiled loads and uses minimal energy and water by washing at a low temperature for a long time.
  • Select program mode – Green: Use the Green program mode (available with Heavy program) to save energy and water.
  • Select option – Automatic door opening: Using this option improves drying results by automatically opening the door at the end of the program. Wait for the program to finish and dishes to cool before unloading.

What should I consider when loading fragile dishes?

Some cookware is not dishwasher safe due to materials not withstanding high heat or being damaged by detergent. Exercise caution with:
  • Handmade items
  • Fragile decoration
  • Crystal/glassware
  • Silver, copper, tin, aluminium
  • Wood and plastic
Look for the “Dishwasher safe” marking.
  • Fragile decoration: Porcelain with decoration on top of the glazing (items feel rough) should not be washed in a dishwasher.
  • Crystal/Glass: Use the gentle Crystal glass program. Use a small amount of detergent and ensure items don’t touch. Rinse aid improves washing and drying results.
  • Hand-painted glassware, antique, and very fragile items: Should not be washed in a dishwasher.
  • Silver: Silver and stainless steel items should not touch, as silver can become discoloured. Separate items made from different metals.
  • Aluminium: Can lose its shine. Good quality aluminium pans can be washed, though some shine may be lost.
  • Cutlery with glued handles: Some glues are not dishwasher safe, and handles may loosen.

How does loading affect dishwashing results?

Load dishes carefully for the best washing and drying results with the lowest energy and water consumption.
  • All dirty surfaces should face inwards and downwards.
  • Dishes should not be placed in or on each other.
  • Angle dishes with hollows (like cups) so rinse water runs off. This is crucial for plastic items.
  • Place small items that could fall through the basket in the top cutlery tray.
NOTE! Check that the spray arms can rotate freely after loading.

How do I load and adjust the top cutlery tray?

The top cutlery tray holds cutlery, ladles, whisks, serving cutlery, and similar items. Avoid placing tall objects that could block the top spray arm. Raising the top cutlery tray: 1. Pull out the top cutlery tray. 2. Pull the two locking handles on either side forward to raise the tray. Lowering the top cutlery tray: 1. Ensure the upper basket is in the lowest position. 2. Pull out the top cutlery tray. 3. Slide the two locking handles on either side downwards and backwards to lower the tray.

How should I load the upper basket?

Place glasses, cups, bowls, side plates, and saucers in the upper basket. Ensure all dirty surfaces face inwards and downwards. Place wine glasses on the wine glass shelf. Knives can be placed in the knife stand on the right. Extra supports for wine glasses may be included and can be fitted. The adjustable plate supports can be pushed together to suit the dishes.

How do I raise or lower the upper basket?

Raising the upper basket: 1. Pull out the upper basket. 2. Grab the sides of the upper basket with both hands and lift it up. Lowering the upper basket: 1. Pull out the upper basket. 2. Hold the sides of the upper basket with both hands and push the two locking handles (located on the outer sides of the runners) inwards to lower the upper basket.

How should I load the lower basket?

Place plates, side plates, serving dishes, pots, and cutlery (in the cutlery basket) in the lower basket. A cutlery holder can be fitted for maximum loading capacity (found inside the enclosed plastic bag). Adjustable plate supports: These can be adjusted to suit the dishes. Release them by pushing inwards before repositioning. They can also be folded down to load pots and bowls. At the back right, plate supports can be pushed together for more space (e.g., for stoneware or a deep pan).

How do I use the adaptable power zones in the lower basket?

The two adaptable power zones (located in the lower basket) can be adjusted for targeted cleaning or turned off. They are pre-selected to Off at the factory.
  • For Vases and Bottles: Open the zone to this position.
  • For Pots and Pans: Open the zone fully to this position.
  • Off: Turn the power zones off (position marked OFF) if you want greater spray pressure across the rest of the lower spray arm.
Leave the power zones open for increased water flow where needed (e.g., heavily soiled pots or tall items).

How do I adjust the lower basket for washing large plates?

To wash plates with a diameter of 25-39 cm, you can adjust the lower basket by moving the adjustable plate supports and their fixtures further apart to increase the distance between the tine rows.

How should I load the cutlery basket?

Place cutlery with handles facing down (except for knives) and spread them out as much as possible. Ensure spoons do not stack inside each other. The cutlery basket is best placed in the middle at the front of the lower basket for optimal performance from the dedicated spray nozzle. WARNING! Knives and other utensils with sharp points must be loaded horizontally in the dishwasher’s special cutlery baskets (like the top tray or knife stand) or with their points down in the cutlery basket to prevent injury and damage. The cutlery basket has a fold-down section in the middle for small items or small shafts (e.g., electric whisk attachments).

How do I add detergent manually?

You can add detergent manually even if Auto dose is active (e.g., for bleach or if the auto dose compartment is empty). The manual detergent compartment must be dry when adding detergent. Follow instructions on the detergent packaging. 1. Press the catch to open the lid of the main wash detergent compartment. 2. Add the recommended amount of detergent. 3. If using powder or liquid detergent, add a small amount to the prewash detergent compartment as well, especially for heavily soiled dishes. 4. Close the lid firmly. It should click shut. NOTE!
  • Use only dishwasher detergent. Washing up liquid creates foam and prevents the dishwasher from working effectively.
  • Do not add detergent to the manual compartment if you are solely relying on automatic detergent dosing, as too much detergent can lead to less effective washing and environmental impact.

Should I use all-in-one detergents (Tablets/TABs)?

Many types of all-in-one detergents are available. Read the product directions carefully.
  • Activate the TAB setting in the dishwasher’s settings menu when using an all-in-one detergent that contains rinse aid. This optimizes the cycle for the tablet and reduces the dose from the separate rinse aid dispenser.
  • Dishwasher tablets are not recommended for short programs (less than 75 minutes). Use powder or liquid dishwasher detergent instead for short cycles.
NOTE! Optimum washing and drying results are achieved by using normal dishwasher detergent (powder or liquid) together with separately dispensed rinse aid. Contact the detergent manufacturer if you have questions about their detergent.

How do I turn the dishwasher On/Off?

Open the door and press the On/Off button (power symbol). Also, ensure the water tap connected to the dishwasher is turned on. To turn off, press the On/Off button again or wait for it to switch off automatically after the program ends.

How do I select a wash program?

With the dishwasher on, press the < or > buttons until the desired program is shown on the display. Select a program appropriate for the type of dishes and how dirty they are.

What are the different wash programs available?

  • Eco: Saves water and energy for normally soiled loads (plates, serving dishes, cups, glasses). Washes at low temperature for a long time. See “Greener dishwashing”.
  • Heavy: For heavily soiled loads (plates, serving dishes, cups, glasses).
  • Auto: Measures dish soil level and adjusts water consumption and temperature accordingly. Needs ~5 runs after installation for full adaptation. Adjusts detergent dose if Auto dose is active.
  • Flexi: Effective for slightly dried leftovers. Not for burnt food (e.g., oven dishes).
  • Intensive: High temperature program for dissolving grease on very dirty dishes (pans, casserole dishes, oven dishes). Can add plates/other dishes if not full.
  • Quick pro: Fast, effective program for slightly dried leftovers. Not for burnt food. Automatic door opening option is important for best drying. Program time is 39 mins when combined with Speed mode.
  • Preheated (30 min + 20 min): A quick program with a 30 min preheating phase (water heated, status light red) followed by a 20 min wash phase. Load dishes during preheating. Start wash phase within 180 mins of preheating completion (status light blue, display indicates ready). Not for dried leftovers. Scrape food off first. Start preheat: Press Start/Stop (▷). Start wash: Press Start/Stop (▷).
  • Crystal glass: Gentle, low-temperature program for fragile crystal/glass. Use small amount of detergent, ensure items don’t touch. Can also wash lightly soiled porcelain without dried leftovers.
  • Time program: Adapts wash to a specified time (0:15-2:30). Select time using the clock button based on soil level (0:15-0:45 slightly dirty, 1:00-1:30 normally dirty, 2:00-2:30 very dirty).
  • Hygiene: Meets strict hygiene demands.
  • Plastic: For dishwasher-safe plastic items. Has an extra long drying cycle. Can also wash porcelain and glasses.
  • Rinse and hold: Rinses dishes while waiting for a full load.
  • Self-cleaning: Hygienic cleaning of the tub, spray arms, and pipes. Run with no dishes, using normal detergent or citric acid in the manual compartment (Auto dose doesn’t dispense). Special dishwasher cleaners also available.
  • Lower half: Washes plates and cutlery in the lower basket only. Slightly dirty dishes can be placed in upper basket.
  • Upper half: Washes cups and glasses in the upper basket only. Slightly dirty dishes can be placed in lower basket.
  • Anti-odour (72h): Prevents bad odours from dirty dishes by activating the fan at regular intervals for 72 hours. Requires ‘Odour control’ activated in Settings.

How do I select a program mode?

Press the Program Mode button (three horizontal lines) to scroll through available modes for the selected program. The symbol is dimly lit for available modes and glows brighter when activated. Available modes vary by program.
  • ►► Speed: Shortens program time, uses more energy.
  • 🌿 Green: Uses less energy and water.
  • ☾ Night: Lowers noise level, extends program time.
  • ♨ Intensive: Higher temperature dissolves grease better on very dirty dishes, uses more energy/water, extends program time.
  • ✨ UV cleanse: Sanitises final rinse water with UV light and heat to kill microorganisms, uses more energy, extends program time.

How do I select program options?

Available options (Automatic door opening 🚪, Delayed start 🕒) are dimly lit. Press the button for the desired option to activate it; it will glow brighter. Available options vary by program.
  • 🚪 Automatic door opening: The door opens automatically at the end of the program, shortening drying time and improving results. Wait until the dishwasher indicates the program has ended and dishes have cooled before unloading. Drying time varies (5-90 mins) depending on model, program, and final rinse temperature. This option is pre-selected for some programs.

NOTE! For best drying results, do not close the door before the drying phase has finished and the machine has automatically switched off.

WARNING! Do not block or force the door closed when it opens automatically, as this may damage the lock mechanism. Wait at least 5 minutes before closing the door after it has opened automatically.

  • 🕒 Delayed start: Start the dishwasher 1-24 hours later.

    1. Press the Delayed start button (🕒) once to activate. Press repeatedly or hold to set the desired number of delay hours (1-24).
    2. Press Start/Stop (▷) and close the door. The timer counts down, and the dishwasher starts after the delay.

To cancel Delayed start: Open the door, press and hold Start/Stop (▷) for three seconds.

How do I Start/Stop the dishwasher?

Press the Start/Stop button (▷) until the display shows “Program started, close door”. Close the door properly; otherwise, the dishwasher will not start. If the dishwasher hasn’t started within 2 minutes of the last button press, it switches off. To stop the dishwasher, open the door. To restart, close the door.

How do I stop or change a program mid-cycle?

1. Open the door to pause the program. 2. Press and hold the Start/Stop button (▷) for three seconds. The previous program is cancelled. 3. If the detergent dispenser lid has opened, add more detergent. 4. Select a new program using the < or > buttons. 5. Press the Start/Stop button (▷) and close the door.

What does the Status Light indicate?

The status light at the bottom of the dishwasher shows the program status:
  • Blue: Program started, you can still load more dishes.
  • Red: Do not load more dishes (risk of poorer washing results). A flashing red light when the door is closed indicates an error has occurred (see Troubleshooting). If flashing when the door is open, it indicates a program is in progress.
  • Green: Program finished. The light stays on for 15 minutes.
  • Flashing Blue/Green: Remote start is activated.

Can I load more dishes after starting a program?

Yes, if the status light is blue. 1. Open the door carefully. The dishwasher stops automatically. 2. Add the dishes. 3. Close the door. The dishwasher will continue the program after a short pause. Do not add more dishes if the status light is red. If the program was started remotely, interrupting it by opening the door will allow it to continue once closed, but you cannot remote start it again for that cycle. You can monitor and remote stop via the Connect Life app.

What happens if there is a power failure during a program?

If power fails during a wash or rinse phase, the program will continue from where it stopped when power is restored. If power fails during the drying phase, the program will be interrupted. If the program was started remotely and hasn’t ended, it will continue once power is restored. You can monitor and remote stop via the Connect Life app, but you cannot remote start it again for that cycle. Opening the door for more than 2 minutes during drying will also interrupt the program.

How do I know when the program has finished?

The end of the program is indicated by:
  • One short signal from the buzzer (this can be adjusted in Settings).
  • The status light turning green (stays green for 15 minutes).
  • The display showing “Program done” after the door is opened.
The dishwasher switches off automatically after the program ends. Remember to turn off the water tap after each use.

How can I achieve the best drying results?

  • Fully load the dishwasher.
  • Angle dishes with hollows (like cups) so water runs off, especially important for plastic items.
  • Ensure the rinse aid compartment is topped up, or increase the rinse aid dose setting.
  • Activate the Automatic door opening option.
  • Allow the dishes to cool inside the dishwasher before unloading.

How should I unload the dishwasher?

Hot porcelain is more fragile. Leave the dishes to cool in the dishwasher before unloading them. Unload the lower basket first to avoid any water drops from the upper basket falling onto the dishes in the lower basket.

1. Start by measuring the height from the floor to the bottom edge of the worktop. 2. Measure the height from the floor to the top edge of the dishwasher. 3. Lean the dishwasher forwards slightly and adjust the rear foot using the screw at the front of the dishwasher. Turn clockwise to lower or anticlockwise to raise. 4. Adjust the front feet by turning them clockwise to raise and anticlockwise to lower the dishwasher. 5. Check that there is an air gap of at least 3 mm between the underside of the worktop and the top edge of the dishwasher. 6. Slide the dishwasher into place. Pull the supply and drainage hoses and the power cord carefully when sliding. Check that hoses have no kinks or sharp bends and are not damaged. Check that the machine is installed so the door opens freely. 7. Make any final adjustments to the feet and tighten the lock nuts on the front feet.

What are the requirements for the drainage connection?

* The dishwasher is suitable for installing in a raised recess for ergonomic height, meaning the hose can run lower than the dishwasher bottom (e.g., directly to a floor drain). * The hose can connect to a nipple on the sink unit’s water trap. The nipple must have an internal diameter of at least 14 mm. * The hose may be extended by a maximum of 2.5 m (total length must not exceed 4.5 m). Any joints and connecting pipes must have an internal diameter of at least 14 mm. Ideally, replace with a new hose without joints. * No part of the drainage hose may be more than 950 mm above the bottom of the dishwasher. * Attach the drainage hose with a hose clamp. Ensure the drainage hose has no kinks.

What are the requirements for the connection to the water supply?

* Use only the inlet hose supplied with the dishwasher. Do not re-use old or other spare hoses. * The supply pipe must be fitted with a water tap (stopcock) that is easily accessible. * After installation, turn on the water tap, allow pressure to settle, and check that all connections are watertight. * NOTE: Only cold water connection is suitable for this appliance. * Water pressure must be between 0.03 and 1.0 MPa. * If water pressure is higher than 1.0 MPa, a pressure limiting valve must be fitted. * NOTE: Connecting via certain types of pressure limiting valves may restrict water supply and cause a “Water inlet fault” error.

What are the requirements for the electrical connection?

* Information (voltage, etc.) is on the compliance plate and must match the electricity supply. * The dishwasher must be connected to an earthed wall socket. * The electric wall socket must be placed outside the installation area to be easily accessible after installing the dishwasher. * Do not use an extension cord.

How do I screw the dishwasher into place?

Use the provided screws (typically 2 or 4) to fasten the dishwasher to the adjacent cabinetry through the holes on the sides of the dishwasher frame. After fastening the machine, check that the front feet still touch the floor.

How do I install the sound insulation and kick panel?

* **Sound Insulation (only certain models):** Fit the sound insulation piece(s) (1-2 pieces, depending on plinth depth) under the front base of the dishwasher. You might need to trim it depending on depth. * **Kick Panel:** The dishwasher is supplied with a kick panel.
