Please observe the following safety warnings when using your ARCTIC WIND AP12018:

1. The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

2. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

3. The plug must be accessible after the appliance is installed.

4. The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.

5. The appliance cannot be installed in a laundry room.

6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.

7. Please wait three minutes before restarting after the power has been interrupted.

8. The appliance should be connected to a supply with a system impedance of Zsys=0.468 or less, in compliance with EN 61000-3-11:2000.

9. The minimum clearance from the appliance to any combustible surface is 1 meter.

The ARCTIC WIND AP12018 and other air conditioning patterns are recommended when the ambient temperature is between 18°C (65°F) and 35°C (95°F). For temperatures below 18°C (65°F) or above 35°C (95°F), other air conditioning patterns are recommended, regardless of the connection mode.

The control panel allows you to manage all functions of your ARCTIC WIND AP12018. The layout may vary slightly by model.

1. REMOTE CONTROLLER SIGNAL RECEIVER: Receives signals from the remote control.

2. DIGITAL DISPLAY:
– In FAN mode, it shows the room temperature.
– In COOL or DRY mode, it shows the set temperature.
– When setting the timer, it displays the set time. After 5 seconds, it reverts to showing the temperature.
– If the room temperature sensor fails, it will display a temperature of 25°C (77°F).

3. TEMP (+/-) button:
– In normal operation, press to adjust the set temperature between 17°C (63°F) and 31°C (88°F).
– When the timer is being set (digital display flashing), press these buttons to set the timer between 1-12 hours.

4. UNIT INDICATION button: Lights will illuminate to indicate the selected operation mode (COOL, DRY, FAN), fan speed (HIGH, MED, LOW), or if the water tank is full (WATER FULL).

5. TIMER button:
– If the unit is running, press to enter timed Switch-OFF mode.
– If the unit is off (standby mode), press to enter timed Switch-ON mode.
– Press the button again to cancel the timer operation. Use with the TEMP (+/-) buttons to set the time.

6. FAN SPEED button: Press to cycle through fan speeds: HIGH, MED, LOW.

7. POWER button: Press to turn the air conditioner ON or OFF. The power indicator will light when ON.

8. MODE button: Press to cycle through the operation modes: COOL -> DRY -> FAN -> HEAT (heating mode for cooling and heating models only).

Before you insert the plug, please make sure the air conditioner is turned off. Follow these guidelines:

• The AC socket must be firm and reliable.

• Do not connect the portable air conditioner to a multiple socket outlet which is also being used for other electrical appliances.

• Do not use a damaged or improper AC socket.

• When unplugging the unit, hold the power plug securely and pull it out carefully.

• Do not use an extension cord.

To set the present time (Example: 10:30 AM):

1. Continually press the HOUR button for about 2 seconds. The time indicator will start flickering.

2. Press the HOUR button to set the hour. (Set to 10).

3. Press the MIN button to set the minutes. (Set to 30).

4. Press the ON/OFF button to confirm the set time. The unit will also automatically exit the time setting state after 15 seconds of inactivity.

NOTE: The timer function is based on the present time, so it’s important to set the present time correctly.

When using the remote, point it at the air conditioner and press the desired button. The air conditioner will make a “dee-” sound to acknowledge the signal.

For proper operation, please observe the following points:

• Do not place the remote near high-temperature sources like an electric heating cushion or a radiator.

• Do not place the remote where it is directly exposed to sunlight or strong lights.

• Avoid dropping the controller.

• Do not place objects between the air conditioner and the remote controller.

• Do not splash water or other liquids on the controller.

• Do not put heavy objects on the controller.

• If the remote controller is not functioning, replace the batteries and try again.

If the air conditioner does not make an acknowledgment sound when a signal is transmitted, the batteries are likely exhausted and need replacement.

1. Remove the battery case cover by sliding it open in the direction of the arrow.

2. Take out the used batteries.

3. Replace with new batteries, paying attention to the “+” and “-” polarity markings.

4. Close the back cover.

The air conditioner evaporates most condensed water. However, if the internal water tank becomes full, the “FULL” lamp will illuminate, and the unit will stop running. Follow these steps to drain the water:

1. Unplug the air conditioner.

2. Disconnect the exhaust hose from the back of the unit.

3. Carefully move the conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors.

4. Remove the base stopper from the base water outlet to drain the water. There is approximately 1.5L of water in the tank.

5. Once the tank is drained, securely reinstall the base stopper.

6. Place the air conditioner back in its desired location, reconnect the exhaust hose, and plug in the unit. It should now operate normally.

In high humidity environments, you can use the continuous drainage function to avoid having to manually empty the tank. Note that this method may reduce the efficiency of the machine.

1. Pull out the partition plate stopper.

2. Connect a suitable hose (not provided) to the partition plate joint.

3. Lead the other end of the hose to a floor drain or a suitable area for draining the condensate.

When using this function, the hose must be placed horizontally and below the drainage hole. Avoid folding the hose or placing it on an uneven surface to ensure proper gravity-fed drainage.

If the air filter is blocked with dust, air flow will be reduced. Clean the filter once every two weeks. Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning.

1. Directly grasp the hook on the bottom of the air filter and pull to remove it in the direction of the arrow.

2. Wash the air filter by immersing it gently into warm water (about 40°C or 104°F) with a neutral detergent.

3. Rinse the detergent from the filter and dry it thoroughly in a shaded place.

4. Install the air filter back into its original place.

Cleaning the Unit Surface:
Clean the surface of the unit with a damp cloth, then dry using a duster or similar. Do not use chemical solvents like benzene or alcohol glazer, as they can scratch or damage the surface.

Prior to the Operating Season:
1. Check to see if the air inlets and outlets of the unit are blocked.
2. Check that the partition plate stopper and the base stopper are installed accurately.
3. Make sure the air filter is properly in place before operating the machine.

After the Operational Season (Storage):
1. Turn off the air conditioner and disconnect the power source.
2. Perform proper maintenance on the air filter and other parts.
3. Open the partition plate stopper and the base stopper to drain out any remaining water.
4. Operate the unit in FAN mode for half an hour to ensure the partition plate and the base are completely dry.
5. Use a plastic sheet to cover the unit to prevent dust or filth from entering.

Occasion:
• Do not use the unit in a very narrow room with obstacles.
• Do not use the unit where sunlight is shining directly onto it to avoid surface color changing.
• Do not use the unit in or near water to avoid leakage of electricity.
• Do not use near gas appliances, fires, or in the vicinity of flammable liquids.

Others:
• Keep the unit one meter away from TV sets or radios to avoid electromagnetic interference.
• Do not use with the air outlet close to walls or cover the outlet to avoid overheating.

Serious Caution:
• Do not toggle over or incline the unit. If it does toggle, please unplug it at once and seek advice from your reseller.
• Do not spray with insecticide or other chemicals as the plastic case may be deformed.

Before seeking repair or service, please check the following table:

In case of a major malfunction, pull the plug out immediately and call for service. Contact a professional if you experience any of the following:

• The fuse and switch often break.

• The power cord superheats or the sleeve of the cord is broken.

• Something abnormal occurs.

Selection of Installation Location:
Put the mobile air conditioner in a flat location where the air outlets cannot be covered up. Place the unit no less than 50cm (19.7 inches) away from a wall or other obstacle.

Installation of the Air Exhaust Hose:
1. First, take out the air exhaust hose.
2. Pull out the hot air outlet from the back of the unit.
3. Revolve the air exhaust adapter onto the end of the air exhaust hose. Turn it in the direction of the arrow for at least six rounds.
4. Revolve the air exhaust hose (with adapter attached) into the air conditioner in the same manner.

To uninstall, simply reverse the process by revolving the hose off the unit and then revolving the adapter off the hose.

The window kit is designed to fit most standard “vertical” and “horizontal” window applications. You may need to improvise for certain window types.

1. Adjust the window slider kit to fit the width or height of your window. The kit has a minimum length of 27-1/2″ (70cm) and a maximum length of 48″ (122cm).

2. Use one screw to fix the installation boards (Board I and Board II) together at the desired length.

3. Place the assembled kit into the window opening and close the window securely against it.

4. Install the air exhaust adapter (attached to the hose) to the opening in the window kit.

The air exhaust hose has a length of 20cm-160cm. To achieve maximum energy efficiency, it is suggested that the hose should be as short as possible. Pay attention to the following points:

1. Try to avoid bends in the hose.

2. Avoid bends near the exhaust air outlet on the unit. The bending point should be at least 50cm (20 inches) away from the unit’s exhaust air outlet.

3. Keep the entire exhaust hose as smooth as possible, avoiding any abrupt, steep-angled bends.

The unit has an interchangeable air outlet and exhaust air outlet function, which allows cooling air to be blown to the outdoor or other desired place. To use this function:

1. Remove the standard (cold) air outlet from the front of the unit.

2. Remove the exhaust air outlet (where the hose connects) from the back of the unit.

3. Interchange their locations: install the exhaust air outlet on the front of the unit and the standard air outlet on the back.

4. Connect the exhaust hose to the front of the unit and direct it to the desired location (e.g., outdoors).
