When switched on, your phone can interfere with vehicle electronic systems like ABS or airbags; ensure it is not placed on the dashboard or in an airbag deployment area.

CONDITIONS OF USE:

Switch the phone off before boarding an aircraft. Switch it off in health care facilities, except in designated areas. Switch it off when near gas or flammable liquids. When the phone is on, it should be kept at least 15 cm away from medical devices like pacemakers or insulin pumps. Hold it against the ear on the opposite side of the device.

To avoid hearing impairment, pick up the call before holding the phone to your ear. Do not let children use the phone without supervision. Handle your phone with care and keep it in a clean, dust-free place. The recommended operating temperature is -10°C to +55°C. Do not open, dismantle, or attempt to repair the phone yourself. Do not drop, throw, or bend it. Do not use it if the screen is damaged or cracked. Do not paint it. Use only recommended batteries, chargers, and accessories.

For your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, observe the following battery precautions:

For non-unibody devices:

Do not attempt to open the battery due to the risk of toxic fumes and burns.

Do not puncture, disassemble, or cause a short-circuit.

Do not burn or dispose of a used battery in household rubbish or store it at temperatures above 60°C.

Batteries must be disposed of in accordance with locally applicable environmental regulations. Only use the battery for its intended purpose.

For unibody devices:

Do not attempt to open the back cover, eject, replace, or open the battery.

Do not puncture the back cover.

The keys and connectors on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X have the following functions:

Keys:

Overview key: Touch to switch between individual app activities and documents.

Home key: From any application or screen, touch to return to the Home screen. Long press to turn on Google Now.

Back key: Touch to go back to the previous screen, or close a dialog box, options menu, or the notification panel.

Power key:

Press to lock or light up the screen.

Press and hold to show the popup menu to select from Restart, Power off, and Aeroplane mode.

Press and hold for at least 10 seconds to force a reboot.

Press and hold with the Volume up key under power off mode to enter recovery mode.

Press and hold with the Volume down key to make a screenshot.

Volume Keys:

During a call, it adjusts the earpiece or headset volume.

In Music/Video/Streaming mode, it adjusts the media volume.

In general mode, it adjusts the ringtone volume.

Mutes the ringtone of an incoming call.

Connectors:

Headset connector: Port for connecting headphones.

USB connector: Port for charging and data transfer.

Inserting or removing the SIM/microSD card:

Your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X requires a micro-SIM card to make phone calls. Power off your phone before inserting or removing the SIM or microSD card. Do not attempt to insert other SIM types like mini or nano cards, as this may damage your phone.

Charging the battery:

You are advised to fully charge the battery. The charging status is indicated by a percentage on the screen while the phone is powered off. To reduce power consumption, disconnect your charger when the battery is fully charged and switch off Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth when not needed.

Power on your phone:

Hold down the Power key until the phone powers on. Unlock your phone with a swipe, PIN, password, or pattern if you have set a screen lock.

Power off your phone:

Hold down the Power key until the Phone options appear, then select Power off.

You can use the following gestures on the touchscreen of your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X:

Touch: To open an application, touch it with your finger.

Long press: To enter available options for an item, long press it. For example, long pressing a contact will show an options list.

Drag: Place your finger on the screen to drag an object to another location.

Slide/Swipe: Slide the screen to scroll up and down applications, images, and web pages. You can also slide the screen horizontally.

Flick: Similar to swiping, but flicking moves the screen content quicker.

Pinch/Spread: Place two fingers on the screen and draw them apart or together to scale an element on the screen.

Rotate: Automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by turning the phone sideways for a better screen view.

The Status bar at the top of the screen on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X shows phone status on the right and notification information on the left.

Notification panel:

Drag the status bar down to view notifications. From this panel, you can open items and reminders. Touch a notification and slide it sideways to delete it. Touch the clear icon to remove all event-based notifications.

Quick settings panel:

Drag the Notification panel downwards a second time to open the Quick settings panel. Here, you can touch icons to enable or disable functions or change modes. A long press on an icon will show its settings. You can also touch the settings gear icon to open the full Settings menu.

To protect your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X and your privacy, you can set a screen lock.

To create a screen unlock pattern, PIN, or password:

Go to Settings > Security > Screen lock. Choose Pattern, PIN, or Password and follow the onscreen instructions to set it up.

To lock the phone screen:

Press the Power key once to lock the screen.

To unlock the phone screen:

Press the Power key once to light up the screen. Slide to draw your unlock pattern or enter your PIN/password to unlock it. If you have chosen “Swipe” as the screen lock, swipe the lock icon upward to unlock.

You can personalize the Home screen of your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X in several ways:

Add an app or widget: Long press a folder, application, or widget to activate Move mode, then drag it to your preferred Home screen.

Reposition an app or widget: Long press the item to activate Move mode, then drag it to the desired position and release. You can move items on the Home screen and in the Favourite tray.

Remove an app or widget: Long press the item to activate Move mode, drag it to the “Remove” icon at the top of the screen, and release when it turns red.

Create folders: Drag an application or shortcut on top of another one to create a folder. To rename a folder, open it and touch the folder’s title bar.

Wallpaper customization: Long press an empty area on the Home screen and touch WALLPAPERS, or go to Settings > Display > Wallpaper to change your wallpaper.

You can adjust the volume on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X in two ways:

Using the volume key:

Press the Volume key (up or down) to adjust the volume. To activate vibrate mode, press the Volume down key until the phone vibrates. Press the Volume down key once more to activate the “Don’t disturb” mode.

Using the settings menu:

From the Home screen, open the applications list, then go to Settings > Sound & notification. Here you can set the volume for media, alarm, calls, and notifications.

You can edit text you have entered on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X as follows:

Long press the text you want to edit.

Drag the tabs that appear to change the highlighted selection.

Options for SELECT ALL, CUT, COPY, and SHARE will appear.

To insert new text, touch where you want to type. A cursor will blink. If you have cut or copied text, a PASTE icon will appear, allowing you to paste the previously copied text.

To make a call on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X:

1. Go to the Home screen and touch the Phone icon.

2. Enter the number you want to call using the dial pad, or select a contact from the Call log or Contacts tabs.

3. Touch the call icon to place the call.

To make an international call, long press ‘0’ to enter “+”, then enter the international country prefix followed by the full phone number and touch the call icon.

For an emergency call, if your phone has network coverage, dial the emergency number and touch the call icon. This works even without a SIM card.

When you receive a call on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, you have three options:

Swipe the call icon to the right to answer the call.

Swipe the call icon to the left to reject the call.

Swipe the message icon upwards to reject the call by sending a preset message.

You can set up a conference call on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X with the following steps:

1. Place a call to the first participant of the conference call.

2. During the call, touch the “Add call” icon.

3. Enter the phone number of the next person you want to add, or select them from your Call log or Contacts, and place the call.

4. Once the second call is connected, touch the “Merge calls” icon to start the conference call.

5. To end the conference call and disconnect all callers, touch the end call icon.

You can manage contacts on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X using the Contacts application:

Add a contact: In the contact list, touch the “+” icon to create a new contact. Fill in the information and touch the save icon.

Delete a contact: Long press the contact you want to delete until its photo is selected, then touch the trash icon and select Delete.

Edit a contact: Touch a contact to open its details, then touch the edit icon. After making changes, touch the save icon.

Import/Export contacts: From the Contacts screen, touch the menu icon and select Import/Export. You can import or export contacts between your accounts, SIM card, and phone storage.

Share a contact: Touch a contact to open its details, touch the menu icon and select Share. You can then send the contact’s vCard via Bluetooth, Gmail, etc.

To send a message from your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, open the Messaging app from the Home screen.

Sending a text message (SMS):

1. Touch the new message icon (+).

2. Enter the recipient’s name or mobile number, or touch the add recipient icon to select from your contacts.

3. Touch the content bar to type your message.

4. When finished, touch the send icon.

Sending a multimedia message (MMS):

An SMS is automatically converted to an MMS when you attach media files or add a subject/email address.

1. Follow the steps for sending an SMS.

2. Touch the attachment icon to attach a picture, video, audio, contact, etc.

3. To add a subject, touch the menu icon and select “Add subject”.

4. When finished, touch the send icon.

To take a picture:

Open the Camera app. Position the object or landscape in the viewfinder and touch the shutter icon to take a picture. You can also long press the shutter icon to take burst shots.

To shoot a video:

In the Camera app, touch the video icon to start recording. Touch the stop icon to stop recording. The video will be saved automatically.

Shooting Modes:

Swipe on the navigation menu to switch between different shooting modes on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, such as:

QR code: Open QR code scanning.

PANO (Panorama): Touch the shutter button and move the phone steadily to capture a panoramic photo.

Face beauty: Touch to enable face beauty while shooting.

HDR (High-Dynamic Range): Touch HDR to turn on this function, which captures a greater range of shadow and brightness.

You can connect your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X to the Internet using either mobile data or Wi-Fi.

Using Mobile Data (GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G):

When you first turn on your phone with a SIM card, mobile network service is usually configured automatically. If not, you can turn on mobile data in Settings > Data usage.

Using Wi-Fi:

1. Open the Quick settings panel and touch the Settings icon, then touch Wi-Fi.

2. Touch the switch to turn Wi-Fi on.

3. Detailed information of detected Wi-Fi networks will be displayed.

4. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connect. If the network is secured, you will need to enter a password.

1. Use the USB cable that came with your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer.

2. You will receive a notification like “Connected as a media device” or “USB for charging”.

3. Touch the notification to open a dialog, then choose the way you want to transfer files (e.g., MTP – Media Transfer Protocol). Before using MTP, ensure that the driver (Windows Media Player 11 or higher) is installed on your computer.

You can share your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X’s mobile data connection with other devices via USB tethering, a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, or Bluetooth tethering.

Via USB Tethering:

1. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable.

2. Go to Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.

3. Touch the switch next to “USB tethering” to activate it.

As a Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot:

1. Go to Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot > Wi-Fi hotspot.

2. Touch the switch to activate the hotspot.

3. You can also touch “Set up Wi-Fi hotspot” to change the network name (SSID) and set a password.

Via Bluetooth Tethering:

1. Go to Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot.

2. Turn on the switch next to “Bluetooth tethering” to activate this function.

A factory data reset will erase all of your personal data from the internal phone storage of your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, including your Google account, other accounts, system and application settings, and any downloaded applications. It does not erase system software updates or files on your microSD card.

From the Settings Menu:

Go to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

Using Hardware Keys (if unable to power on):

Press the Volume up key and the Power key at the same time until the screen lights up to enter recovery mode, where you can select the factory reset option.

Important: All user phone data will be lost permanently. It is strongly advised to back up your phone data before performing a reset. After a reset, you may be required to enter the Google account credentials that were previously used on the device.

If your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X can’t be switched on, charge it for at least 20 minutes to ensure minimum battery power, then try to switch it on again. If the phone is stuck in a loop during power on, press and hold the Power key to reset it. If neither method works, reset the phone using the Power key and Volume up key together to enter recovery mode, or use a software upgrade tool.

If your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X has not responded for several minutes, restart it by pressing and holding the Power key. If it still doesn’t work, use the Factory data reset option or a software upgrade tool.

If your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X turns off by itself, check that your screen is locked when not in use to prevent the Power key from being accidentally pressed. Also, check the battery charge level. If the problem persists, perform a Factory data reset or use a software upgrade tool.

If your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X is not charging correctly, perform the following checks:

Make sure you are using an original ALCATEL battery and the charger from the box.

Make sure your battery is inserted properly and that the battery contact is clean.

Ensure the battery is not completely discharged. If it is, it may take around 20 minutes for the charger indicator to appear on the screen.

Confirm that charging is being carried out under normal conditions (0°C to +40°C).

When abroad, check that the voltage input is compatible.

If your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X cannot connect to a network, try the following:

Try connecting in a different location.

Verify network coverage with your operator.

Check with your operator that your SIM card is valid.

Try selecting the available network(s) manually.

Try connecting at a later time if the network is overloaded.

If you are unable to make outgoing calls on your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, check the following:

Ensure you have dialled a valid number and have touched the Call button.

For international calls, check the country and area codes.

Make sure your phone is connected to a network that is not overloaded or unavailable.

Check your subscription status with your operator (credit, SIM card validity, etc.).

Make sure you have not barred outgoing calls.

Make sure your phone is not in Aeroplane mode.

To improve the battery life of your ALCATEL PIXI 4 5010X, follow these tips:

Make sure you follow the complete charge time (minimum 2.5 hours).

After a partial charge, wait at least 20 minutes after removing the charger for an exact battery level indication.

Adjust the screen brightness as appropriate.

Extend the email auto-check interval for as long as possible.

Update news and weather information on manual demand or increase their auto-check interval.

Exit background-running applications if they are not being used.

Deactivate Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or GPS when not in use.
