Note: The camera does not record sounds when it’s in the waterproof case.

To capture videos and photos with your Brave 4 Elite, you must first complete the formatting process. This camera comes with a built-in 64GB memory storage, so you do not need to purchase a memory card separately.

Heads up: Usually it takes one minute to copy a file of 1 GB. When the memory is full, it will take about one hour to offload all files.

To format the memory, tap the Settings icon to enter the camera settings page, locate the Format option, then tap Confirm to complete the process.

How to remove the waterproof case from the packing box:

a. Take out the silicon rubber protector.

b. Give the mount buckle a hard pull.

c. Pull backward to disassemble the camera.

d. Rotate mount 1 counterclockwise with your hands or the spanner.

e. Detach the waterproof case from the mount buckle.

How to remove the camera from the waterproof case:

a. Pull up the buckle as indicated by the arrows.

b. Open the back door of the waterproof case.

c. Remove the camera from the waterproof case.

How to install the camera into the waterproof case:

a. Put the camera in the waterproof case as indicated by the arrow.

b. Compress the back door.

c. Fasten the buckle.

d. Press down the back door to ensure tightness.

The camera’s battery is non-removable. To charge the action camera, connect it to the included magnetic USB cable. Please ensure the action camera is turned off before charging.

Warm Tips:

1. The camera will be fully charged in four hours. Do not keep it charging beyond that. When fully charged, the camera can capture 4K30FPS videos for up to 120 minutes and last up to 180 minutes in 1080P30fps video recording.

2. To prevent a short circuit, it is important to ensure that the magnetic port is kept away from any metal conductors while using the magnetic charging cable.

Heads up: The exact battery life may depend on the usage environment. As the temperature drops, the battery life will become shorter, typically decreasing by 20% for every 10-degree drop in temperature.

To turn on the camera, simply press and hold the Power button. Once turned on, the working indicator light will remain steady, and the camera screen will present the preview interface. When you first power on the camera, you have the option to select your desired language and set the time and date. To power off the camera, either press and hold the Power button or swipe down to access the quick menu and tap the power icon. The working indicator light will extinguish, indicating that the camera is now turned off.

There are two ways to turn on the Wifi. You can press the Power button or swipe up to enter the mode menu and tap the Wifi icon to turn on Wifi. When Wifi is turned on, the indicator on the top of the screen will be flashing blue. It will go out when Wifi is turned off and stay solid when connected. To turn off Wifi, press the Power button again or tap the ‘X’ icon on the Wifi screen.

To choose a desired shooting mode, you can press and hold the Shutter button, or tap the mode icon to enter the mode menu.

To press the Shutter button:

When you turn on the camera, press and hold the Shutter button to access the mode menu. From there, select the desired shooting mode. Pressing the Shutter button will confirm the current shooting mode and take you to its respective settings page. Alternatively, use the Mode button to switch between different shooting modes, such as Photo, Video, and Playback settings.

To use the touchscreen:

When the camera is on, tap the bottom of the screen or swipe up to access the mode menu. From there, select either Video or Photo mode. Next, choose the specific shooting mode you want. To exit the mode menu, tap the “X” icon. To switch between Video and Photo modes, simply swipe left or right on the screen.

The AKASO BRAVE 4 ELITE offers several photo modes:

Single Photo Mode: Press the Shutter button to capture a single photo at the specified resolution.

Burst Photo Mode: Press the Shutter button to continuously take multiple photos at a specific rate. This is suitable for capturing fast-moving scenes.

Time-lapse Photo Mode: Press the Shutter button to take a series of photos at a set interval. This is suitable for capturing the movement of clouds, stars, and sunsets.

Long Exposure Mode: Press the Shutter button for the camera to continuously capture photos at specific intervals until the set exposure time ends. This is suitable for dark, light, and water scenes.

Self-Timer Mode: This mode allows you to set a delay before the camera takes a photo, which is useful for taking a photo of yourself or a group without physically pressing the Shutter button.

The AKASO BRAVE 4 ELITE offers several video modes. To start or stop recording, press the Shutter button.

Normal Video Mode: The camera records multiple videos in the set video resolution. You can press and hold the Up or Down button or tap the Zoom icon to adjust the zoom level up to 4X.

Loop Record Mode: The camera records videos of a specific length. When the memory is full, old files will be overwritten by new ones. This mode is suitable for long journeys.

Time-lapse Video Mode: The camera records 30fps videos from frames captured at specific intervals. A video that lasts several hours can be played back in minutes or seconds. Time-lapse videos are captured without audio.

Slow Motion Mode: The camera records videos that can be played back in slow motion. For example, a 1-minute recording at 2.7K 2X will result in a 2-minute slow-motion video in 2.7K resolution. This is useful for scenes with fast movements.

Fast Motion Mode: The camera records videos that can be played back at a faster speed than normal. For example, a 1-minute recording at 2.7K 2X will result in a 30-second video in 2.7K resolution.

You can adjust the following Photo Settings:

1. Resolution: 20MP/16MP/14MP/10MP/8MP/5MP/2MP (Default: 20MP). Higher resolution offers greater clarity but results in larger file sizes.

2. Output Format: JPEG/JPEG+DNG (Default: JPEG).

3. ISO: Auto/100/200/400/600/800/1600/3200 (Default: Auto). Determines sensitivity to light. Higher ISO is for brighter images in low light but with more noise.

4. EV (Exposure Value): -2.0/-1.0/0/+1.0/+2.0 (Default: 0). Sets the brightness of the image.

5. Burst Photo: Off/3 shots/7 shots/15 shots/30 shots (Default: Off). Sets the number of photos taken in Burst Photo mode. This setting only appears in Burst mode.

6. Timelapse Interval: 3 Sec/5 Sec/10 Sec/30 Sec/1 Min (Default: 3Sec). Sets the frequency of photos in Time Lapse Photo mode. This setting only appears in Time-lapse Photo mode.

7. Timelapse Duration: Unlimited/5 Min/10 Min/15 Min/20 Min/30 Min/60 Min (Default: Unlimited). Sets the duration of the timelapse photo session. This setting only appears in Time-lapse Photo mode.

8. Self-Timer: 2s/10s (Default: 2s). Sets the delay before a photo is taken. This setting only appears in Self-Timer mode.

9. Long Exposure: Off/1 Second/2 Seconds/5 Seconds/8 Seconds/30 Seconds/60 Seconds (Default: Off). Sets the exposure time in Long Exposure mode. This setting only appears in Long Exposure mode.

10. Metering: Center/Multi/Spot (Default: Multi). Determines how the camera measures light to set exposure.

11. Sharpness: High/Middle/Low (Default: Middle). Adjusts the sharpness of objects in your photo.

12. Date Stamp: Off/Date/Date&Time (Default: Date&Time). Sets the date stamp format.

13. Fill Light: Off/On/Auto (Default: Off). Enables the camera to capture clearer images in low light conditions.

You can adjust the following Video Settings:

1. Video Resolution: 4K60 FPS/4K 30FPS/2.7K 60FPS/2.7K 30FPS/1080P 120FPS/1080P 60FPS/1080P 30FPS/720P 240FPS /720P 120FPS/720P 60FPS (Default: 4K60FPS). Higher resolution offers greater clarity but results in larger file sizes. 30FPS is not available in Slow Motion mode.

2. Voice Record: Off/On (Default: On). Mute or unmute your videos.

3. Image Stabilization: Off/On (Default: Off). Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) 2.0 corrects lens distortion for smooth videos. The shooting angle will be narrowed. It won’t work with Distortion Correction and is disabled for 1080P/120FPS, 720P/240FPS, 720P/120FPS.

4. Loop Record: 1 Min/2 Min/3 Min (Default: 1 Min). Sets the length of each video file in Loop Record mode. This setting only appears in Loop Record mode.

5. Timelapse Interval: 1 Sec/3 Sec/5 Sec/10 Sec/30 Sec/1 Min (Default: 1 Sec). Specifies the frequency at which video frames are captured. This setting only appears in Time-lapse Video mode.

6. Timelapse Duration: Unlimited/5 Min/10 Min/15 Min/20 Min/30Min/60Min (Default: Unlimited). Specifies the duration of your timelapse video. This setting only appears in Time-lapse mode.

7. Fast Motion Movie: Off/2X/4X/6X/10X/15X (Default: Off). Choose the speed for fast motion videos. This setting only appears in Fast Motion and Loop Record modes.

8. Wind Noise Reduction: Off/On (Default: Off). Lowers wind noise for better video quality. This setting only appears in Normal Video mode.

9. Auto Low Light: Off/On (Default: Off). Optimizes for low light performance, ideal for dark scenes and resolutions above 60 FPS. Cannot be enabled at the same time as Image Stabilization.

10. EV (Exposure Value): -2.0/-1.0/0/+1.0/+2.0 (Default: 0). Sets the brightness of the video.

11. Sharpness: High/Middle/Low (Default: Middle). Adjusts the sharpness of objects in your video.

12. Fill Light: High/Middle/Low (Default: Middle). Captures clear videos in dark light.

13. Date Stamp: Off/Date/Date&Time (Default: Date&Time). Sets the camera’s date stamp format.

You can adjust the following System Settings:

1. Power Frequency: 50Hz/60Hz (Default: 60Hz). Set to match the AC frequency of your region (e.g., 60Hz for northeastern areas, 50Hz for others).

2. Sounds: Shutter: On/Off, Boot-up: On/Off, Beep: On/Off (Default: On for all). Turn camera sounds on or off.

3. Volume: 0/1/2/3 (Default: 2). Adjusts the camera’s volume.

4. Voice Control: Off/On/Instruction (Default: Off). Control the camera with voice commands (Video start, Stop Video, Take photo, etc.). Works best in quiet scenes within 50 meters.

5. White Balance: Auto/Daylight/Shade/Tungsten Light/White Fluorescent (Default: Auto). Adjusts for accurate color in different lighting conditions. Does not work with Effect and Diving Mode.

6. Effect: Normal/BW/Natural/Negative/Warm/Brightness Contrast (Default: Natural). Choose a visual effect for your shot. Does not work with White Balance and Diving Mode.

7. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Off/On (Default: Off). Retains more detail in dark and bright areas of an image, ideal for high-contrast scenes.

8. Distortions Calibration: Off/On (Default: Off). Corrects the fisheye effect in wide-angle shots. Does not work with Image Stabilization.

9. Angle: Wide/Medium/Narrow (Default: Wide). Choose a field of view. Does not work with the zoom function.

10. Diving Mode: Off/On (Default: Off). Compensates for the absence of red light in underwater scenes. Does not work with Effect and White Balance needs to be set to Normal.

11. Face Detection: Off/On (Default: Off). The camera recognizes faces in the scene. Not available on the front screen and works within 1 meter of the subject.

12. Date&Time: Default setting is YY/MM/DD. Set the camera’s date and time.

13. Upside Down: Off/On (Default: Off). Flips the user interface upside-down.

14. Screen Saver: Off/1 Min/3 Min/5 Min (Default: 1 Min). Turns the display off after a period of inactivity.

15. Auto Power Off: Off/1 Min/3 Min/5 Min (Default: 3 Min). Powers the camera off after a period of inactivity.

16. Language: Set the camera’s language.

17. Format: Yes/No. Formats the internal memory.

18. System: Provides options for Factory Reset, System Info (Brand, Model, Version), and Memory Info (Capacity, Free Space).

First, download and install the AKASO GO app. Then follow these instructions:

1. Turn on the camera, press the Power button or tap the Wifi icon to turn on Wifi. The camera will enter Wifi mode and display the Wifi SSID and password (PWD: 1234567890).

2. On your phone, go to Wifi settings, find the camera’s Wifi SSID in the list, and connect to it using the password 1234567890.

3. Your phone may give a “No Internet Connection” or “Weak Security” notice. You can ignore this and continue.

4. Open the AKASO GO app, tap “Device”, then tap the “+” icon in the upper right corner to add “Brave 4 Elite”.

5. Tick “The above operation has been confirmed”, and tap “Live Preview”. Your camera will now be connected to the AKASO GO app.

Press the Mode button or tap the Playback icon in the bottom left corner to enter the playback interface.

To play back files: Tap the video or photo you want to play back. The video or photo will play.

To delete files: To delete a file, tap the Delete icon, select the file you wish to delete, and then tap the Delete icon again. The screen will display three options: “Delete File”, “Delete All Files”, and “Cancel”. Tap “Delete File” and then confirm your choice by tapping “Yes” when the screen prompts you with “Yes/No” to complete the deletion process.

To exit: Tap the Return icon to exit the playback menu.

Offloading Your Content to a Computer:

To offload video or photo files to a computer, connect the camera to your computer’s USB port using the included magnetic USB cable, and choose the MSDC mode when the camera turns on. After successfully transferring files, you will be able to play back files on your computer, or delete the chosen files with the file explorer.

Tip: To ensure stable data transmission, properly connect the magnetic USB cable and avoid moving the camera during data transmission. To prevent a short circuit, keep the magnetic port away from metal conductors.

Downloading Your Content to a Smartphone:

1. Open the AKASO GO app and connect it to your camera.

2. Tap the Album icon to see all the videos and photos.

3. Tap the Select icon in the upper right corner to choose the photo or video you want to download, then tap the Download icon. The file will be downloaded to your phone’s photo album.

Heads up: If you cannot download videos or photos to your iPhone, enter your phone’s Settings page → Privacy → Photos, find “AKASO GO” and select “All photos”.

Once the camera is switched on, it will instantly connect with the remote. The remote has a Photo Button, a Video Button, and a Micro USB Port for charging. The remote is splashproof, but not waterproof.

Video Recording:

1. To record a video, make sure the camera is in Video mode.

2. To start recording: Press the gray Video button. The camera beeps and the camera status light flashes while recording.

3. To stop recording: Press the gray Video button again. The camera beeps and the camera status light stops flashing.

Taking a Photo:

1. To capture a photo, verify the camera is in Photo mode.

2. To take a photo: Press the gray Photo button. The camera will emit a camera shutter sound and start taking photos.

Charging the Remote:

There is a built-in battery in the remote. To charge the remote, plug it in with a USB cable.

Please follow these guidelines to get the best performance from your camera:

1. For best audio performance, shake the camera or blow on the mic to remove debris from the microphone holes.

2. To clean the lens, wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not insert foreign objects around the lens.

3. Don’t touch the lens with fingers.

4. Keep the camera away from drops and bumps, which may cause damage to the parts inside.

5. Keep the camera away from high temperature and strong sunshine to avoid being damaged.

If the battery reaches 0% while recording, the camera will save the file and power off. To maximize battery life, follow these guidelines when possible:

1. Turn off the Wifi connection.

2. Capture videos at lower frame rates and resolutions.

3. Use the Screen Saver setting.

WARNING: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, microwave, incinerate or paint the camera. Do not insert foreign objects into the camera. Do not use the camera if it has been damaged. For example, if cracked, punctured or harmed by water. Disassembling or puncturing the camera can cause an explosion or fire.

1. Check if the camera charges normally. Plug in the camera with the magnetic USB cable to see if it displays the word AKASO and enters the mode menu interface with the red indicator staying solid.

2. If the camera does not display the word AKASO, please do a hard reset by pressing the R button on the camera.
