The AKASO BRAVE 5 has three main buttons with the following functions:

Power button:

• Short press to turn on the camera.

• Long press to turn off the camera.

• In playback mode, short press to choose the next file.

• When connected to a TV via the micro HDMI port, short press to choose the next option.

OK button:

• In video mode, short press to start or stop video recording.

• In picture mode, short press to take a picture.

• In playback mode, short press to start or pause playback.

• In video mode, long press to enter or exit WiFi mode.

• When connected to a TV via the micro HDMI port, short press to start or pause playback on the TV.

Mode button:

• Short press to switch among Video, Picture, and Playback Modes.

To record or take pictures with your AKASO BRAVE 5, a Micro SD card is required. Please follow these specifications:

• Card Type: MicroSD, Micro SDHC, or Micro SDXC

• Class: Class 10 and Above

• Capacity: 8GB to 64GB

It is important to format the SD card on the camera before its first use. Regularly formatting the SD card will help maintain it in good working condition. Always back up your files before formatting.

Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. You can charge the battery in two ways:

Using a Power Charger:

1. Connect the camera to a power charger using the USB cable. The red light will illuminate, and the camera will turn on automatically. You can turn the camera off if you do not need to use it while it’s charging.

2. The red light will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Make sure the camera is off when charging (turn the camera off, and the blue indicator will also turn off).

Using a PC:

1. Connect the camera to a PC via the USB cable. The camera will turn on automatically.

2. Turn off the camera, and the blue indicator will turn off to continue charging.

Power ON: Short press the power button. The camera screen will show a welcoming picture, the blue working indicator will light up, and the camera will enter standby mode.

Power OFF: When the camera is on, long press the power button to turn off the camera.

The AKASO BRAVE 5 has four main modes: Video, Photo, Playback, and Settings. After powering on the camera, you can access these modes by sliding your finger on the screen from top to bottom. This will reveal the mode selection menu.

To enter the settings menu:

1. First, select the mode you wish to adjust (e.g., Video or Photo).

2. Touch the setting icon located on the left bottom corner of the screen.

There are specific setting menus for each mode as well as a general system settings menu. The available options will differ depending on the mode you are in.

The following system settings can be adjusted on the AKASO BRAVE 5:

• WiFi: On / Off

• Touch Panel Function: On / Off

• Time Setup: Set the date and time

• Auto Power Off: Off / 1min / 2min / 3min / 5min / 10min

• Frequency: 50Hz / 60Hz

• Language: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese / German / French / Spanish / Russian / Italian / Portuguese / Japanese

• Format: OK / NO (Formats the SD card)

• Return Menu setting to defaults: OK / NO

• Screen Save: Off / 1min / 3min / 5min / 10min

• Version: Displays the firmware version

Video Mode is the default mode when the camera powers on. To switch to Video Mode from another mode, select it from the slide-down menu or press the Mode Button repeatedly.

Normal Recording:

1. In the video settings menu, set “Loop Recording” to OFF.

2. Press the OK button or touch the Recording Icon on the screen to start recording.

3. Press the OK button again or touch the Recording Icon to stop recording. The camera will record until the SD card is full.

Loop Recording:

1. In the video settings menu, set “Loop Recording” to 3, 5, or 10 minutes.

2. Press the OK button or touch the Recording Icon to start. The blue indicator will flash.

3. The camera records in continuous segments of the chosen length. When the SD card is full, the camera will automatically overwrite the oldest video file to continue recording.

4. Press the OK button again or touch the Recording Icon to stop.

In Video Mode, you can adjust the following settings:

• Resolution: 4K 24fps / 2K 30fps / 1080P 60fps / 1080P 30fps / 720P 120fps / 720P 60fps / 720P 30fps

• Loop Recording: OFF / 3 minutes / 5 minutes / 10 minutes

• HDR: Off / On

• EV value: +2.0 / +1.7 / +1.3 / +1.0 / +0.7 / +0.3 / +0.0 / -0.3 / -0.7 / -1.0 / -1.3 / -1.7 / -2.0

• Motion Detection: Off / On

• Record Audio: Off / On

• Date Stamp: Off / On

• Time Lapse record: Off / 1sec / 5sec / 10sec / 30sec / 1min / 5min / 10min / 30min / 1Hour / 2Hour / 3Hour

• Image Rotation: Off / On

Using Photo Mode:

To switch to Photo Mode, choose the photo icon from the slide-down menu or press the Mode Button repeatedly. Aim the camera at your subject and press the OK button or touch the Shooting icon on the screen. The camera will automatically save the picture.

Capture Function:

While you are recording a video, you can short press the power button to capture a still picture without interrupting the video recording.

In Photo Mode, you can adjust the following settings:

• Self Timer: Off / 2S Timer / 5S Timer / 10S Timer

• Image Size: 20M / 16M / 12M / 10M / 8M / 5M / 3M

• Burst: Single / Burst 3 / Burst 5

• Quality: Fine / Normal / Economy

• Sharpness: Strong / Normal / Soft

• White Balance: Auto / Daylight / Cloudy / Tungsten / Fluorescent

• Anti-Shaking: Off / On

• Quick Review: Off / 2 sec / 5 sec

• Date Stamp: Off / Date / Date&Time

• ISO: Auto / 100 / 200 / 400 / 800 / 1600

• Exposure: +2.0 / +1.7 / +1.3 / +1.0 / +0.7 / +0.3 / +0.0 / -0.3 / -0.7 / -1.0 / -1.3 / -1.7 / -2.0

• HDR: Off / On

• Metering: Average / Center-Weighted / Spot

• Scene: Auto / Portrait / Landscape

1. Press the Mode button or touch the mode icon and choose the playback icon to switch to Playback mode.

2. Double-click any location on the screen to enter the Playback Menu.

3. In the Sudoku Preview, slide around to choose the video or picture you want to view.

4. Press the OK button to start or pause the playback.

1. Download the app “Miocam” from the Google Play or Apple Store to your mobile device and install it.

2. Long press the OK button on the camera or touch the WiFi icon on the screen to enable the WiFi function. The WiFi icon will be displayed.

3. On your smartphone, find “AKASO” in the list of available WiFi networks and connect to it. The default password is 12345678.

4. Open the “Miocam” app. You can now control your camera with your phone.

5. To turn off the WiFi function, long press the OK Button or touch the WiFi icon on the screen.

Note:

• Ensure a micro SD card is inserted in the camera before turning on WiFi.

• The WiFi function can only be turned on when the camera is in video mode, or by going to system settings.

• The “Power Saving Mode” on your mobile device should be set to “Off” for best performance.

• To switch camera modes (except system settings), you must turn off the WiFi first.

Connect the AKASO BRAVE 5 to an HDMI-compatible TV using an HDMI cable (with a micro HDMI connector for the camera). All camera operations can then be displayed on the high-definition TV screen.

Connect the camera to a PC, and it will turn on automatically. The screen will display two options: “Mass storage” and “PC camera”. Touch the one you need.

• Mass storage: The camera will be recognized as a removable disk (MSDC), allowing you to access and check files.

• PC camera: The camera will function as a PC webcam (PC CAM).

Note: If you are charging the camera by connecting it to a PC, please turn the camera off after the connection is established.

• When the camera is idle, keep it in a dry, shady place.

• Turn off the touch screen function when using the camera underwater, as underwater pressure may cause abnormal operation.

• If the lens needs to be cleaned, first blow away any dust on the surface, then use a cloth or paper suitable for optical devices to clean it. Detergent may be used if necessary.

• Do not use organic solvent to clean the camera.

• Do not touch the lens with your fingers.

• Do not put the camera in a moist or dusty place.

• Keep the camera away from drops and bumps, as this can cause damage to internal parts.

• Keep the camera away from long periods of high temperature and strong sunshine to avoid damage.

• It is normal for the camera to get hot after being used for a long time.

1. Unlock the battery cover.

2. Press the battery cover, then push the battery cover forward.

3. Take out the battery.

This may happen for two reasons: your computer’s video software does not support .mov files, or your computer’s hardware does not support 4K display resolution.

There are a few potential causes for distorted or poor-quality footage:

1. Camera Housing Condensation: Try putting the camera in direct sunlight for an hour or two to clear any condensation inside the housing.

2. Faulty Camera Lens: The lens may have scratches or cracks causing distortion. Inspect the lens carefully for any physical damage.

3. Faulty Camera Sensor: If your photos and videos are corrupted or consistently distorted, the camera’s sensor may be faulty.

1. First, test the memory card in another device. If it still doesn’t work, the memory card itself is likely faulty. If it does work in another device, make sure it is a minimum of a Class 10 SD card, which is required for the AKASO BRAVE 5.

2. If the memory card is proven to be functional and meets the requirements, the memory card slot on the camera might be faulty.
