Before installation and operation, please follow these important safety instructions:

• This appliance is not intended for use by children unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure they can use the appliance safely.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure that they never play with the appliance.

• Cleaning and care should not be performed by children unless they are supervised by an adult or responsible person.

• Immediately unplug the product if you encounter a failure during use.

• If the product malfunctions, it must not be operated until repaired by an authorized service provider.

• Installation and service should be performed by a qualified installer. The appliance should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.

• Do not eat ice cubes, ice cream, or other frozen foods immediately after you take them out of a freezer, as this may cause frostbite in your mouth.

• Do not touch frozen food with wet hands, as they may stick to your hand.

• Do not put bottled or canned liquid beverages in a freezer, as they may burst.

• Please observe all local, state, and national codes and ordinances. Ensure the appliance is properly grounded and the plug is always accessible.

• Never wash the appliance by spreading or pouring water onto it, as you run the risk of electric shock.

• Never touch the plug with wet hands.

• To disconnect the appliance from power, firmly grip the plug and pull it from the electrical outlet. Never pull by the cord.

• Do not plug in the appliance if the wall outlet is loose.

• Never connect your ZLINE RBCFV-24 to energy-saving devices; such systems are harmful to your product.

• Unplug the product during installation, care, cleaning, and repairing procedures.

• Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by a qualified electrician or an authorized service provider.

• Never use steam or steam cleaners to clean or defrost the appliance. Steam may infiltrate the electrical system, increasing risk of a short circuit or electric shock.

• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

• Never use parts of your appliance, such as the door, shelves, or drawers, as a means of support or a step.

• Do not damage the sealed system where the refrigerant circulates. If punctured, escaping refrigerant may cause skin irritations and eye injuries.

• Do not cover or block the ventilation holes.

• Do not use gaseous sprays near the product due to the risk of fire or explosion.

• Do not store flammable items, products with flammable gases (e.g., sprays), or explosive materials in the appliance.

• Do not place containers filled with liquid on top of the appliance.

• Do not store items that need precise temperature adjustment (e.g., vaccines, heat-sensitive medication) in the freezer.

• Do not overload the appliance. Objects may fall when the door is opened, causing injury or damage.

• If the product has a door handle, do not pull on it when relocating the product.

• Be careful not to jam your hand or any other body part in the moving parts of the appliance.

• Do not put your hand or any other foreign materials into the ice maker while it is operating.

To ensure children’s safety before disposing of your old freezer:

• Ensure that children are not inside.

• Leave the shelves inside the unit to prevent children from easily getting inside.

• Remove the doors.

• If there is a lock on the door, keep the key out of the reach of children.

The ZLINE RBCFV-24 uses flammable refrigerant (R600a). Please observe the following warnings:

• **Risk of Fire or Explosion:** This product uses flammable refrigerant.

• Do not use mechanical devices to defrost the freezer.

• Do not use chemicals for cleaning.

• Do not pierce the refrigerant pipe. If the pipe is pierced, it must be repaired only by licensed service personnel.

• Pay attention not to damage the cooling system or piping during use and transportation.

• If the product is damaged and you see a gas leak, keep away from the gas and potential fire sources. Ventilate the room where the product is placed.

• Never use an appliance with a damaged cooling system.

• The operating pressure for the cold water inlet is between 25–80 psi (1.7–5.5 bar).

• If the water pressure exceeds 80 psi (5.5 bar), you must install a pressure limiting valve to your mains system.

• If your water main pressure is lower than 25 psi (1.7 bar), you can use an auxiliary pump to compensate for the low pressure.

• If you are unsure about your water pressure, consult a professional plumber.

• Do not connect the product to a hot water inlet.

• The water temperature operating range must be a minimum of 0.6 °C (33 °F) and a maximum of 38 °C (100 °F).

• Do not leave the freezer door open for a long time.

• Do not put hot food or liquids in your appliance.

• Do not overload the appliance, as this hinders air circulation and decreases cooling capacity.

• Install the product away from direct sunlight and at least 12″ (305 mm) away from heat sources like microwaves and ovens, and at least 2″ (51 mm) away from electrical ovens.

• Store food and liquids inside closed containers.

• You can remove shelves and drawers to fill the unit with the maximum amount of food.

• Thawing frozen foods in a refrigerator (if you have one) saves energy and preserves food quality.

• The temperature of the room where the freezer is located should be at least 61 °F (16 °C) for optimal energy efficiency.

• Ensure the inside of your freezer is cleaned thoroughly.

• Before using the product, ensure all preparations have been made according to the installation manual.

• Clean the interior of the freezer as recommended in the “Maintenance and Cleaning” section. Make sure the interior is dry before plugging it in.

• Plug the appliance into a grounded socket. The interior will illuminate when the door is opened.

• Plug the unit in for a minimum of 6 hours without placing any food in it. Do not open the door unless necessary.

• You will hear a noise when the compressor starts up. This is normal. Liquids and gases in the cooling system may also create noise even when the compressor is not running.

• The front edges of the freezer may feel warm. This is normal and designed to avoid condensation.

The ZLINE RBCFV-24 freezer includes the following components:

• **Adjustable shelves (3):** Made of heat-treated safety glass.

• **Stationary shelf (1):** Stationed on top of the ice maker drawer; also heat-treated safety glass.

• **Ice maker (1):** Located inside one removable soft-close ice drawer and includes one hygienic ice scoop.

• **Soft-close drawers (1 small, 2 big):** Feature soft-close technology to ensure all drawers close properly.

• **Door bins (3):** Adjustable and removable door bins.

• **Other Components:** Shelving, Soft-close small drawer, Soft-close big drawer.

The control panel on your ZLINE RBCFV-24 has several functions:

1. **On/Off Button:** Press to switch the appliance on (it will start in 5 seconds). Press and hold for 1.5 seconds to switch it off.

2. **Temperature Button:** Press to adjust the freezer’s temperature from 7 °F to -11 °F (-14 °C to -24 °C). The setting takes effect after the LED lights flash for 5 seconds.

3. **Super Freeze Function:** If you continue pressing the temperature button after reaching -11 °F (-24 °C), the Super Freeze function will be enabled, indicated by a snow symbol. This feature is for periods of high freezer use or full grocery loads. The freezer will return to its previous setting after the cycle is complete.

4. **Temp. Display:** Shows the set temperature. Fahrenheit, Celsius, or Super Freeze icons will illuminate here.

5. **Lock:** The lock icon illuminates when the panel is locked. To lock or unlock, press and hold the MENU button for 3 seconds. The panel locks automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity.

6. **MENU Button:** Press repeatedly to cycle through various modes. Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock/unlock the panel.

7. **SELECT Button:** After choosing a mode with the MENU button, press SELECT to confirm and enable the function.

• **Holiday Mode:**

1. Press the MENU button until the holiday symbol illuminates.

2. Press the SELECT button to enable it. The freezer temperature is automatically set to 0 °F (-18 °C).

3. **Before leaving:** Turn the ice maker OFF (the ice symbol will not be illuminated) and shut off the water supply.

4. **On return:** Turn the ice maker ON. Discard the first full bin of ice to clear debris from water lines.

• **Eco Mode:**

1. Press the MENU button until the Eco Mode symbol illuminates.

2. Press the SELECT button to enable it. The freezer temperature is automatically set to 5 °F (-15 °C).

• **Sabbath Mode:**

1. Press the MENU button until the Sabbath Mode symbol illuminates.

2. Press the SELECT button to enable it. All lights, buzzers, and display panels will be turned off.

• **Ice Maker (if applicable):**

1. Press the MENU button until the ice making symbol illuminates.

2. Press the SELECT button to enable the function. The ice maker will operate automatically.

3. After connecting to a water source or replacing the water filter, fill and discard two full containers of ice to ensure debris is cleared from water lines.

• **Water Filter (if applicable):**

1. The Water Filter symbol flashes and beeps when the filter needs replacement (default is 130 days).

2. After replacing the filter, reset the symbol by pressing SELECT for 5 seconds while the control panel is locked.

• **Temperature Unit (°C/°F):**

1. Press the MENU button until the Celsius and Fahrenheit selection symbol illuminates.

2. Press the SELECT button to confirm the change.

• **Showroom Mode:**

1. Press the MENU button until the Showroom symbol illuminates, then press SELECT.

2. This mode is for display purposes only. It turns off cooling and all other functions except interior lighting. Do not store any food in the appliance while in this mode.

The water filter symbol will flash and beep to advise you to replace the filter.

1. All units are shipped with a water filter already installed for immediate use.

2. To remove the old filter, turn it 90° counter-clockwise from its housing and pull it out.

3. Insert the new water filter with the knobs at the front in a horizontal position as far as it will go.

4. Turn the new filter 90° clockwise until it snaps into place.

5. Re-secure the filter cover by pushing it up until it locks with the button.

After replacement, reset the filter indicator by pressing SELECT for 5 seconds while the control panel is locked.

After replacing the water filter in your freezer:

• The ice maker may not immediately produce ice, and initial ice may be irregularly shaped.

• Discard the first bin of ice to allow air to purge from the system and ensure any potential debris is cleared from the water lines.

• A newly installed filter cartridge may cause water to spurt into the ice maker body, leading to ice droplets around the area. Initial ice production might appear discolored. This is normal during the initial system flush, and the ice color will return to normal after the first bin of ice production.

If you use a reverse osmosis or other household filtration system and do not need the internal water filter, you should install the provided water filter bypass plug to ensure proper water delivery to your ice maker.

1. Remove the water filter as outlined in the replacement instructions (turn counter-clockwise and pull out).

2. Insert the bypass plug into the housing.

3. Rotate the plug clockwise until it is snug.

4. Re-secure the filter cover.

• Wrap foods or place them in a covered, airtight container before putting them in the freezer to prevent drying.

• Cool hot foods and beverages to at least room temperature before placing them in the freezer.

• Freeze only fresh, high-quality foods.

• Use packaging materials that are tear-proof, resistant to cold, humidity, odor, oils, and acids, and are also airtight.

• Use thawed frozen foods immediately; they should never be refrozen.

• Do not freeze overly large quantities of food at once. Food quality is best preserved when it is frozen through to the core as quickly as possible.

• For purchased frozen foods, store them according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure you put packages in the freezer quickly, check “Use By” or “Best Before” dates, and confirm the package is labeled and dated.

The recommended operating temperature for the freezer zone is 0 °F (-18 °C).

• **SUPER FREEZE MODE:** -11 °F (-24 °C). Use this function when you wish to quickly freeze your food in a short time. Your freezer will return to its previous mode when the process is over.

Glass Shelves:

• **To remove:** Fully open the door. Hold the front of the shelf, then gently lift it up and slide it out. Glass shelves must be unloaded before removing.

• **To reinsert:** Hold the shelf at an angle (front higher than the back) and insert the top hook into the top shelf notch. Then, lower the front slightly to lock it into place.

• **NOTE:** Wait for glass shelves to reach room temperature before immersing them in water for cleaning to avoid cracking.

Drawers:

• **To remove:**

1. Pull the drawer out until it stops.

2. Ensure the main freezer door is fully open.

3. Slightly unclip the front section of the drawer and take it out completely.

• **To install:**

1. Pull the sliding rails out completely.

2. Carefully place the gaps at the bottom rear corners of the drawer onto the small extension pieces on the rails.

3. Push the drawer down until you feel the front section clip onto the rails.

• **General Cleaning:**

1. Turn off and unplug the product before cleaning.

2. The best cleaning solution is one teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in a half liter of water. Soak a cloth in the solution, wring it thoroughly, and wipe the interior. Dry thoroughly afterward.

3. Never use gasoline, benzene, sharp abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaners, or wax polish.

4. Make sure no water contacts the light fixtures or control panel.

5. Regularly check that the door gaskets are clean.

6. Never use chloric cleaning agents on outer surfaces or chrome-coated parts.

• **Plastic Surfaces:** Do not put liquid oils or oil-cooked meals in unsealed containers, as they can damage plastic. If oil is spilled on plastic surfaces, clean and rinse with warm water immediately.

• **Stainless Steel Outer Surfaces:**

1. Use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaning agent with a lint-free, soft cloth.

2. For polishing, wipe the surface softly with a damp microfiber cloth and use dry wash-leather, always following the strands of the stainless steel.

• Keep the freezer clean. Clean it with the recommended baking soda solution every 15 days to remove food residuals and stains.

• Keep your foods in closed containers. Microorganisms from uncovered containers can cause unpleasant odors.

• Never keep expired or spoiled foods in your freezer.

If you see an error code, first try resetting the unit by disconnecting it from power and reconnecting it after a few minutes.
