The X-SENSE STH0A uses icons to display comfort levels based on temperature and humidity. The following table details the default and customizable settings:

Before starting, ensure your smartphone supports iOS 11 and higher or Android 8.0 and higher, and you are using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with Bluetooth turned on.

Step 1. Connect the base station to a power source with the power adapter.

Step 2. In the app, select Base Station (SBS50) in the product list to see the Scan QR Code page.

Step 3. Scan the QR code on the bottom of the base station.

Step 4. Enter a name for the base station, select a home and room, and select your country or region.

Step 5. Press and hold the Pair button of the base station for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes yellow rapidly.

Step 6. Tap Operation Confirmed and then Next. The page will show Searching for Nearby Bluetooth Devices.

Step 7. Enter the correct Wi-Fi and password then tap Next to add the device.

Step 8. After successfully connected, the LED indicator will stay solid blue and the device will appear in your device list.

Note: Ensure the base station has been successfully added to the app before adding the thermometer hygrometer.

Step 1. Tap the plus icon in the app, select Thermo-hygrometers from the product list, then choose STH0A and tap Next.

Step 2. Enter a name for the device and select the room where it is installed.

Step 3. Remove the back cover of the device, take out the battery insulating film, and ensure battery polarities are correctly aligned.

Step 4. Follow the prompts by quickly pressing the Pair/Unit Switch Button twice on the device until the signal icon on the screen flashes rapidly.

Step 5. Tap Next to add the device. You will hear a voice prompt indicating the device is ready to be added.

Step 6. Once connected, you will hear a confirmation and the device will appear in your device list.

The X-SENSE STH0A can be placed using three different methods:

Place On a Flat Surface: This is suitable for most general situations.

Use the Stand: This is suitable for lower installation positions.

Hanging: This is suitable for wall-mounted installations using the hanging slot.

You can set the temperature and humidity range in the app. When levels exceed this range, an app push notification is sent immediately and the base station will sound an alarm unless silenced.

Step 1. Go to Device Settings in the app.

Step 2. Under the Temperature Alarm and Relative Humidity Alarm settings, use the slider or make a selection from the dropdown list to set the range you want to track.

Data can be exported in CSV format after entering your email address and confirming the date and time range.

Step 1. Tap the thermometer hygrometer in the app.

Step 2. Drag to the bottom of the screen and tap the Export Data button.

Step 3. You can export data for up to six months (180 days) at a time. For the past year, create two separate exports.

Step 4. You can also toggle Scheduled Export to choose from daily, weekly, and monthly automated reports.

Note: Only temperature and humidity data can be exported; dew point and VPD data are not supported.

Note: Humidity accuracy data is measured at a constant temperature of 77°F (25°C). Accuracy may be affected when temperature changes.

Step 1. Pry open the battery cover from the notch at the top of the device using your thumb or a slot-type screwdriver.

Step 2. Install new batteries, ensuring the polarities are matched correctly.

Step 3. Close the back cover by gently pressing it back into place until it clicks.

Maintenance Note: Always handle the device with care and do not attempt to disassemble. Do not immerse the device in water.

If the base station failed to connect to the network:

Cause: Incorrect Wi-Fi name or password. Solution: Re-enter the correct credentials.

Cause: Smartphone Bluetooth is off. Solution: Turn on the phone Bluetooth.

Cause: Base station not in pairing mode. Solution: Press and hold the Pair button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes yellow.

If the thermometer hygrometer cannot connect to the base station:

Cause: Device not in pairing mode. Solution: Quickly press the Pair button twice on the thermometer hygrometer.

Cause: Obstacles or distance. Solution: Reduce obstacles like metal doors or thick walls. Ensure the distance is within 170 ft (50 m).

Cause: Metal surfaces. Solution: Avoid placing the device on metal surfaces as they interfere with wireless signals.

Using the device in a refrigerator or freezer will shorten the battery life and may affect the wireless connection due to low-temperature environments. The recommended ambient temperature for prolonged operation is 14 to 140°F (-10 to 60°C). Additionally, testing in these environments may cause the device to malfunction as it is not designed for such extreme conditions.

The device is calibrated by precision instruments at the factory and usually does not require recalibration. However, if you wish to calibrate it:

Step 1. Open the app and go to Device Settings.

Step 2. Select the Calibration setting to adjust the temperature and humidity values.

There are several reasons for potential delays in readings:

Reason 1: Differences in the surrounding environment, placement, and nearby objects can significantly affect readings. Ensure conditions are consistent when comparing devices.

Reason 2: Stabilization time. The device may need several minutes to several hours to stabilize and provide an accurate reading after a significant environmental change.

Reason 3: Design for long-term monitoring. This device is designed for stable, long-term monitoring to ensure accuracy over a 5-year lifespan. This may result in slower responses compared to products designed for faster responses with potentially less stability.

The device is not recommended for long-term use in extreme humidity environments with condensation (such as a greenhouse), as it is not waterproof. If you notice issues:

Step 1. Remove the batteries.

Step 2. Dry both the outside of the device and the battery compartment.

Step 3. Place the device in a well-ventilated, dry environment for at least 24 hours with the battery compartment left open.

Step 4. Reinstall new batteries. If the device still does not function, it may need to be replaced.
