The X-SENSE SBS50 smart thermometer hygrometer features a clear display for viewing temperature, humidity, and comfort levels directly on the screen. It can also be accessed via an app. It sends alarm notifications through the app when connected to the base station. It is ideal for homes, greenhouses, and other environments.

Before connecting devices, ensure your smartphone supports iOS 11 and higher, or Android 8.0 and higher. Make sure the Bluetooth on your phone is turned on and you are using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, as the device is incompatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. For faster configuration, keep your mobile phone and the device as close to the router as possible.

Step 1. Connect the base station to a power source with the power adapter.

Step 2. In the app, select Base Station (SBS50) in the product list and scan the QR code on the bottom of the base station.

Step 3. Enter a name for the base station and select or create a home and room for it. You will also need to select your country or region.

Step 4. Press and hold the Pair button on the base station for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes yellow rapidly.

Step 5. Tap Operation Confirmed and then Next. The app will search for nearby Bluetooth devices.

Step 6. Enter the correct Wi-Fi and password, then tap Next. You will hear a voice prompt: connecting to Wi-Fi.

Step 7. Once successfully connected, you will hear: Wi-Fi connected. The LED indicator will stay solid blue and the base station will appear in your device list.

Note: Ensure the base station has been successfully added to the app before adding other devices.

Step 1. Tap the plus symbol in the app, select Thermo-hygrometers from the product list, then choose STH0A. Tap Next.

Step 2. Enter a name for the device and select the room in which it is installed.

Step 3. Remove the back cover, take out the battery insulating film, and ensure the battery polarities are correctly aligned.

Step 4. Quickly press the Pair/Unit Switch Button twice on the device until the signal icon on the screen flashes rapidly.

Step 5. Tap Next to add the device. You will hear: Ready to add the device.

Step 6. After successful connection, you will hear: Device added. The device will appear in the device list.

1. Place On a Flat Surface: This method is suitable for most situations.

2. Use the Stand: This is suitable for lower installation positions.

3. Hanging: This method is suitable for wall-mounted installations.

Set the Alarm: You can define the temperature and humidity range in the app. If levels exceed this range, an app push notification is sent immediately, and the base station will sound an alarm. You can disable the base station’s sound alarm in the app settings.

Comfort Levels: There are two options: Human Body’s Comfort Levels (Default) and Customize Comfort Levels. When customizing, the screen will display Comfortable (smiling face) when levels are within your set range, and Not Comfortable (neutral face) when they are outside the range.

Unit Switch: You can switch temperature units in the app between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C). If you change the unit on the physical device using the Unit Switch button while it is connected to the app, the app will update automatically.

Export Data: Data can be exported in CSV format. You can create a scheduled export (daily, weekly, or monthly) or manually export up to six months (180 days) of data at a time. Only temperature and humidity data can be exported; dew point and VPD data are not supported.

Battery Replacement:

Step 1. Pry open the battery cover from the notch at the top of the device using your thumb or a slot-type screwdriver.

Step 2. Install two AA batteries, ensuring polarities are matched correctly.

Step 3. Close the back cover by gently pressing it back into place until it clicks.

Maintenance:

1. The device is rated for environments ranging from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C) and 0 to 99% RH.

2. Always handle with care and do not attempt to disassemble.

3. Do not immerse the device in water.

Base station failed to connect to the network: Verify the Wi-Fi name and password. Ensure the phone’s Bluetooth is on. Make sure the base station is in pairing mode (LED flashing yellow).

Thermometer hygrometer cannot connect to base station: Quickly press the Pair button on the device twice to enter pairing mode. Reduce obstacles between the device and the base station. The maximum allowable distance in an open environment is 1700 ft (500 m).

App shows device is offline: Check if the device’s batteries are drained. Ensure the router and mobile phone connections are normal. Metal surfaces can interfere with wireless signals; avoid placing devices directly on metal.

Low battery warning: Replace the batteries if the app indicates low battery or the device screen shows only one bar of battery.

Fridge or Freezer: Use in these environments will shorten battery life and may affect connectivity. The recommended ambient temperature for prolonged operation is 14-140°F (-10-60°C).

High Humidity: The device is not waterproof. It is not recommended for long-term use in high-humidity environments (above 80% RH water condensing). In extreme conditions like greenhouses, condensation may cause malfunctions. If issues occur, remove batteries, dry the device exterior and battery compartment, and place it in a well-ventilated dry environment for at least 24 hours.

1. Testing in extreme environments like a refrigerator may cause malfunctions as the device is not designed for such conditions.

2. Placement and nearby objects can affect readings. Ensure conditions are consistent when comparing devices.

3. This device is designed for long-term, stable monitoring and has a lifespan of over 5 years. It prioritize accuracy over instantaneous response, meaning it may take several minutes to several hours to stabilize after a significant environmental change.

Calibration: The device is calibrated by precision instruments and usually does not require recalibration. To adjust, go to Device Settings and use the Calibration setting.

Identification: To distinguish between multiple devices, you can write the name exactly as it shows in the app on the back of the device. Alternatively, use the Device Test feature in the app settings; the screen of the device being tested will flash slowly three times.

Keep new or old used batteries out of reach of children.

If a battery leaks, do not allow liquid to contact skin or eyes. If contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice immediately.

Never charge a battery unless it is a rechargeable battery.

Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.

Do not mix different brands or capacities of batteries.

Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
