Before beginning installation of your VERONA VMFSIE365 range, it is important to read the installation instructions completely and carefully. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Do not remove permanently affixed labels, warnings, or plates from the product, as this may void the warranty.

• Observe all local and national codes and ordinances.

• Ensure that the product is properly grounded.

• The installer should leave these instructions with the consumer, who should retain them for the local inspector’s use and for future reference.

• Some models are supplied with a protective film on steel and aluminum parts. This film must be removed before installing or using the appliance.

To verify the anti-tip bracket on your VERONA VMFSIE365 range is correctly installed and engaged to prevent a tip-over hazard, follow these steps:

1. Slide the range forward.

2. Look for the anti-tip bracket securely attached to the floor or wall.

3. Look for the adjustable bracket assembly securely attached to the back of the range.

4. Slide the range back so the bolt head on the adjustable bracket assembly is positioned under the anti-tip bracket.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious burns to children and adults.

The following tools are recommended for the installation of the VERONA VMFSIE365 range (tools are not supplied with the appliance):

• Screwdriver

• Hammer

• Pencil

• Tape measure

• Suitable protective gloves

• Adjustable wrench

• Adjustable pliers

• Drill

Please observe the following general information for your VERONA VMFSIE365 range:

• This appliance shall not be used for space heating.

• All openings in the wall behind the appliance and in the floor under it must be sealed.

• Keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors.

• Do not obstruct the flow of ventilation air.

• Disconnect the electrical supply to the appliance before servicing.

• When removing the appliance for cleaning or service, first disconnect the AC power supply, then carefully remove the range by pulling it outward. CAUTION: The range is heavy; use care in handling.

• Misuse of the oven door (e.g., stepping, sitting, or leaning on it) can result in potential hazards and/or injuries.

• When installing or removing the range, a rolling lift jack should be used. Do not push against any edges of the range to slide it. Pushing or pulling a range increases the possibility of bending the leg spindles or internal coupling connectors.

For personal safety, the VERONA VMFSIE365 range must be properly grounded. Electrical installation should be performed by a licensed electrician.

• The range must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes. In the absence of local codes, it must comply with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 70-latest edition.

• IN CANADA: The appliance is equipped with a four-prong grounding plug (NEMA 14-50P) for protection against shock hazard and should be plugged directly into a properly grounded socket. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the fourth (ground) prong from the power plug.

The VERONA VMFSIE365 range may be installed directly adjacent to existing 36″ (914 mm) high base cabinets.

Range Dimensions:

• Width: 35 7/8″ (911 mm) for a 36″ (914 mm) cabinetry opening.

• Depth: 25 1/4″ (641 mm).

• Height (without backguard): MIN 35 3/8″ (898 mm) – MAX 37 1/4″ (946 mm).

• Backguard height: 3″ (76 mm).

• Island trim height: level with cooking hob.

Clearance Requirements:

• The range CANNOT be installed directly adjacent to sidewalls, tall cabinets, tall appliances, or other side vertical surfaces above 36″ (914 mm) high. There must be a minimum of 2″ (50 mm) side clearance from the range to such combustible surfaces TO THE LEFT and TO THE RIGHT above the 36″ (914 mm) high countertop.

• The maximum upper cabinet depth recommended is 13″ (330 mm).

• Side wall cabinets above the range must be a minimum of 18″ (457 mm) above the countertop.

To eliminate the risk of burns or fire by reaching over heated surface units, cabinet storage space located above the surface units should be avoided. If cabinet storage is to be provided, the risk can be reduced by installing a rangehood that projects horizontally a minimum of 5″ (127 mm) beyond the bottom of the cabinets.

The minimum clearance requirements are as follows:

• For a combustible/unprotected overhead cabinet centered above the cooktop, a minimum clearance of 30″ (762 mm) is required.

• For a non-combustible/protected overhead cabinet centered above the cooktop, a minimum clearance of 24″ (610 mm) is required. A cabinet is considered protected if the bottom is covered by not less than 1/4″ thick flame retardant millboard covered with not less than No. 28 MSG sheet steel, 0.015″ (0.4 mm) thick stainless steel, 0.024″ (0.6 mm) thick aluminum, or 0.020″ (0.5 mm) thick copper.

• For a ventilation hood centered above the cooking surface, a minimum clearance of 24″ (610 mm) is required. Refer to local/national codes for specific ventilation requirements.

The grounded outlet for the VERONA VMFSIE365 should be located in the area specified for electrical connection. The dimensions are as follows:

(*): Depending on feet regulation.

Ref A is the distance from the side of the range to the start of the electrical area. Ref B is the width of the electrical area. Ref C is the height from the floor to the bottom of the electrical area.

It is mandatory to install and use the VERONA VMFSIE365 with either the island trim or the optional 3″ backguard correctly in place.

• The island trim is already fitted to the appliance.

• The 3″ backguard can be purchased as a separate kit.

• If replacing the island trim with the 3″ backguard, you must assemble it by using the same screws/spacers that were used for fixing the island trim.

The following table outlines the required clearances for a standard or island installation of the VERONA VMFSIE365 range.

(*) Maximum height of cabinetry immediately adjacent to the range (from floor to countertop). Depending on the height of the feet adjustment, the cooking surface must sit flush or above countertop level.

(**) Refer to the section on minimum clearance from the cooking surface to an overhead cabinet or ventilation hood for details.

Fitting the Adjustable Feet:

The adjustable feet must be fitted to the base of the range before use.

1. Rest the rear of the cooker on a piece of the polystyrene packaging to expose the base for fitting the feet. ATTENTION: Pay special attention not to damage the range during this operation.

2. Fit the 4 legs by screwing them tight into the support base.

Levelling the Cooker:

The VERONA VMFSIE365 may be levelled by screwing the lower ends of the feet IN or OUT. The feet allow for an adjustment of + 1″ 31/32 (+ 50 mm).

Please follow these warnings when moving your VERONA VMFSIE365 range:

• WARNING: When raising the cooker to an upright position, always ensure two people carry out this maneuver to prevent damage to the adjustable feet.

• WARNING: Be careful not to lift the cooker by the door handle when raising it to the upright position.

• WARNING: When moving the cooker to its final position, DO NOT DRAG it. You must lift the feet clear of the floor to move it.

You must install both parts of the anti-tip bracket (the adjustable bracket and the stability bracket) and ensure they are properly fitted together to prevent the range from tipping.

To fit the anti-tip bracket:

1. Thread the bolt through the adjustable bracket and fix it in place using the two supplied nuts. Ensure the nuts are well tightened.

2. Fix the adjustable bracket to the back of the range (centered on the lower edge) using the two supplied screws and washers.

3. Fix the stability bracket in place. It can be fixed to the floor OR the rear wall using the supplied screws. Use the proper screws according to the type of material on the floor and/or wall. If using plastic sleeve anchors, drill 5/16″ (8mm) diameter holes and insert the anchors before attaching the bracket.

4. Slide the range into place, ensuring the bolt on the adjustable bracket slots under the stability bracket.

5. Adjust the length of the bolt as necessary. Ensure the two nuts are well tightened after any adjustments.

IMPORTANT! Before drilling holes or inserting screws into the floor or wall, check that you will not damage any wiring or pipes.

The VERONA VMFSIE365 must be properly installed and grounded by a qualified technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No.70 (latest edition) and local electrical code requirements.

• The range must be connected to the proper electrical voltage and frequency as specified on the rating plate.

• The range can be connected directly to the fused disconnect or circuit breaker box through flexible, armoured or non-metallic sheathed, copper cable with a grounding wire.

• Use only a 3-conductor or 4-conductor CSA/UL listed range cord rated at 50 amps with 250 V minimum and provided with ring terminals.

Voltage and Power Consumption:

*The NEC calculated load is less than the total connected load listed on the rating label.

WARNING!! For installations within the United States, it is highly recommended to use a 4-wire power cord. Using the 3-wire installation may result in insufficient power to your range, and will result in poor heating performance resulting in very long cooking times.

For a permanent 4-wire hard wiring installation (US only), follow these steps:

1. Ensure the power is off. Locate the terminal block on the rear of the unit and remove the access cover.

2. Ensure the strain relief bracket is oriented so the 1 1/8″ (29mm) smaller opening is facing down.

3. Mount an approved conduit connector and strain relief (not provided) into the 1 1/8″ (29mm) hole.

4. Loosen the L1, L2, and neutral (N) screws on the terminal block.

5. Secure the neutral (white) power lead to the center terminal (N) and tighten the screw.

6. Secure the L1 and the L2 power leads to the terminals immediately to the left (L1) and right (L2) of the neutral terminal. Tighten the screws.

7. Secure the Ground lead (PE) to the green screw located to the right of the terminal block using the supplied cupped washer. The end of the grounding conductor must be retained by the cupped washer.

8. Check all connections are securely tightened.

9. Reinstall the Terminal Block cover.

For a permanent 3-wire hard wiring installation (US only), follow these steps. Note: A 4-wire installation is highly recommended.

1. Ensure the power is off. Locate the terminal block on the rear of the unit and remove the access cover.

2. Ensure the strain relief bracket is oriented so the 1 1/8″ (29mm) smaller opening is facing down.

3. Mount an approved conduit connector and strain relief (not provided) into the 1 1/8″ (29mm) hole.

4. Loosen the L1, L2, and neutral (N) screws on the terminal block.

5. Secure the supplied Ground lead strap to the grounding screw (green screw) to the right of the terminal block.

6. Secure the Neutral power lead together with the free end of the Ground lead strap to the center terminal (N). Tighten the screw.

7. Secure the L1 and the L2 power leads to the terminals immediately to the left (L1) and right (L2) of the neutral terminal. Tighten the screws.

8. Check all connections are securely tightened.

9. Reinstall the Terminal Block cover.

If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrician determine that the ground path and wire gauge are in accordance with local codes. For VERONA VMFSIE365 ranges supplied with a power cord, please follow these guidelines:

• Be sure that the electrical connection and wire size are adequate and conform with CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 – latest edition, and all local codes and ordinances.

• Do not ground to a gas pipe.

• Check with a qualified electrical installer if you are not sure the range is properly grounded.

• Do not have a fuse in the neutral or ground circuit.

• When a 4-wire, two phase 240-208/120-volt, 60Hz, AC-only electrical supply is available, a 50 amp maximum circuit protection is required, fused on both sides of the line.

• This range is equipped with a Certified Power Cord intended to be plugged into a standard NEMA 14-50R wall receptacle. Be sure the wall receptacle is within reach of the range’s final location.

• Do not use an extension cord.

• IMPORTANT! The fourth (ground) prong should not, under ANY circumstances, be cut or removed.
