How do I install the TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN cooktop into a countertop?
To install your TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN cooktop, follow these steps:
Step 1. Cut a rectangle hole in the countertop with the dimensions of 22″ x 14 1/4″.
Step 2. Ensure the cut-out is placed at least 2 1/2″ from any side of the countertop.
Step 3. For a flush mounting installation, use a router tool to round the corners of the hole with an outside radius of .4″.
Step 4. Feed the power wire through the hole to the location of the power receptacle underneath the cabinet.
Step 5. The cooktop comes with a pre-installed foam gasket. Peel off the adhesive protector on the bottom of the gasket.
Step 6. Set the induction cooker into the cut-out. Gently press down on the cooktop to secure the adhesive gasket to the countertop.
Step 7. For RV use, it is recommended to apply butyl tape instead of the supplied foam tape for adequate adhesion and to allow for removal if the unit needs to be serviced.
What are the air circulation clearance requirements for the TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN?
For proper air circulation and to prevent overheating of your TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN, you must allow at least 3 inches of clearance from the bottom of the induction cooker to any shelving or storage below it. The underside of the countertop should not be closed off from the cabinetry underneath to ensure better air flow. Be sure not to block either the air intake or exhaust vents on the bottom of the unit.
What are the important safety precautions when using the TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN?
When using the TRUE INDUCTION TI-2BN, it is essential to heed all safety precautions:
• When the unit is on, do not touch outside the control panel as the surface may contain residual heat.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord plugs or the cooker in water or other liquids.
• Close supervision is strongly suggested when using the appliance around children.
• Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or if it has been damaged in any manner.
• Do not cook on a broken or damaged cooktop, as spillovers may penetrate the surface and create a risk of electric shock.
• Do not use accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not let the power cord dangle over the edge of a table or counter. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces.
• Do not place the cooktop on or near a hot gas burner, electric burner, or heated oven.
• Allow for sufficient space around the cooking area for optimal fan ventilation.
• Items with a magnetic field such as radios, televisions, credit cards, and cassette tapes can affect the unit.
• The power cord’s electrical rating should be at least as great as the appliance’s rating. Arrange the cord so it will not drape over the countertop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over.
• Do not use with empty pans or pots.
• Do not place metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, lids, cans, or aluminum foil on the cooktop.
• The appliance has a polarized plug. If it does not fit fully, reverse the plug. Do not attempt to modify the plug.
• The unit’s surface will remain hot for a short period after use.
• Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool before performing any maintenance or repairs.
• Clean the cooktop with caution. Do not clean while the unit is still hot, as some cleaners produce steam or fumes if applied to a heated surface.
• Do not use the cooktop for any purpose other than directed by the manufacturer.
