Before using the TROTEC BN35F, it is important to read and understand all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

Maintenance and Condition:

Step 2. Do not remove any safety signs, stickers, or labels. Ensure they remain legible.

Step 3. To prevent damage, do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, extreme humidity, or moisture.

Step 4. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents to clean the device.

Please follow these safety guidelines when handling batteries for your TROTEC BN35F thermostat:

Step 1. Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechargeable.

Step 2. Do not use different types of batteries or a mix of new and used batteries together.

Step 3. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment according to the correct polarity (+/-).

Step 4. Remove discharged batteries from the device promptly.

Step 5. Remove the batteries if you will not be using the device for a long period of time.

Step 6. Never short-circuit the supply terminal in the battery compartment.

Step 7. Do not swallow batteries. If a battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns. Seek medical attention immediately if you think batteries might have been swallowed or otherwise entered the body.

Step 8. Keep new and used batteries, as well as an open battery compartment, away from children.

Step 1. Apply Warning Label:

The device is supplied with a warning sign. Before the first start-up, paste the corresponding warning sign in your local language over the one present at the rear of the device.

Step 2. Insert Batteries into the Thermostat:

Step 1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the circular thermostat unit.

Step 2. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring you match the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals with the markings inside the compartment.

Step 3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Step 3. Plug in the Receiver:

Step 1. The device comes in two parts. Separate the plug-in receiver from the backplate of the thermostat unit.

Step 2. Plug the receiver unit directly into a suitable wall socket.

To pair the wireless thermostat with its receiver, follow these steps:

Step 1. Ensure the receiver is plugged into a wall socket and the thermostat has batteries installed.

Step 2. On the thermostat display, the “CONNECT” indicator will be flashing.

Step 3. Press and hold the “OK” button (Button B) on the thermostat for 3 seconds.

Step 4. The “CONNECT” indicator on the display will stop flashing and remain solid, confirming that the thermostat and receiver are successfully paired.

After inserting batteries, you need to set the time, date, and other preferences:

Step 1. Press and hold the settings button (cogwheel icon, Button A) for 3 seconds to enter the settings menu.

Step 2. Set Time Format: “24hr” or “12hr” will flash. Use the +/- buttons (Button C) to select your preferred format and press “OK” (Button B) to confirm.

Step 3. Set Day of the Week: The day indicator (e.g., MON) will flash. Use the +/- buttons to select the current day and press “OK” to confirm.

Step 4. Set the Hour: The hour digits will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the correct hour and press “OK” to confirm.

Step 5. Set the Minutes: The minute digits will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the correct minutes and press “OK” to confirm.

Step 6. Set Daylight Saving Time (DST): “DST OFF” or “DST ON” will be displayed. Use the +/- buttons to select the correct setting and press “OK” to confirm.

Step 7. Set Temperature Unit: “°C” or “°F” will flash. Use the +/- buttons to select Celsius or Fahrenheit and press “OK” to confirm and exit the settings menu.

The TROTEC BN35F allows you to set timed schedules for your connected appliance. To program the timer:

Step 1. Press the timer button (clock icon, top button) once to enter timer mode. The display will initially show “TIMER OFF”.

Step 2. Press and hold the “M” button (Button A) for 3 seconds to enter the timer programming mode.

Step 3. Set the “ON” Time: The screen will show “ON 1” and the time will flash (e.g., 12:00). Use the +/- buttons (Button C) to set the desired start time for your first program. Press “OK” (Button B) to confirm.

Step 4. Set the Days for the “ON” Time: The days of the week will flash. Use the +/- buttons to cycle through day combinations (e.g., individual days, MON-FRI, SAT-SUN, MON-SUN). Press “OK” to confirm the days for this “ON” time.

Step 5. Set the “OFF” Time: The screen will show “OFF 1” and the time will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired stop time for your first program. Press “OK” to confirm.

Step 6. Set the Days for the “OFF” Time: Select the days for the “OFF” time in the same way as the “ON” time and press “OK”.

Step 7. You can continue to set additional ON/OFF programs by repeating the steps above. After finishing, the device will return to the main timer screen. Press the timer button to toggle the timer function ON or OFF.

The TROTEC BN35F has two main heating modes: “FULL” (constant heating to a target temperature) and “Prd” (programmed heating schedule).

Step 1. Press the mode button (flame/snowflake icon, right button) to enter mode selection. The display will initially show “MODE OFF”.

Step 2. Press and hold the “M” button (Button A) for 3 seconds to enter mode programming.

Step 3. Use the +/- buttons (Button C) to select either “FULL” or “Prd”. Press “OK” (Button B) to confirm your choice.

If you selected “FULL” mode:

Step 1. The target temperature on the display will flash.

Step 2. Use the +/- buttons to set your desired constant temperature.

Step 3. Press “OK” to confirm and activate the mode.

If you selected “Prd” (Period) mode:

Step 1. Set Start Time: The “S.T” (Start Time) will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the time you want the heating period to begin. Press “OK”.

Step 2. Set Target Temperature: The “TARGET” temperature will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired temperature for this heating period. Press “OK”.

Step 3. Set End Time: The “E.T” (End Time) will flash. Use the +/- buttons to set the time you want the heating period to end. Press “OK”.

Step 4. You can program multiple periods. Once finished, the device will follow the set schedule. The display will show the current temperature, target temperature, and the next ON or OFF time (e.g., “15:15 ON” or “17:30 OFF”).

You can manually override the current program or schedule.

Manual Temperature Override:

Step 1. Press the power button (left button) on the thermostat. The heating icon (flame) will appear.

Step 2. The target temperature on the display will flash. Use the +/- buttons (Button C) to set your desired manual temperature.

Step 3. The device will now work to maintain this temperature until you press the power button again to turn the manual override off.

Manual Control of the Plug-in Receiver:

You can also turn the connected appliance on or off directly from the receiver unit.

Step 1. Press the button located on the side of the plug-in receiver unit.

Step 2. This will toggle the power to the connected appliance ON or OFF, overriding the thermostat’s current command.

Device Disposal:

The icon with the crossed-out waste bin on the equipment indicates that it must not be disposed of with household waste at the end of its life. You will find collection points for free return of waste electrical and electronic equipment in your vicinity. Battery Disposal:

Batteries and accumulators must not be treated as domestic waste. They must be disposed of professionally in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC. Please dispose of batteries and accumulators according to the relevant legal requirements.
