Follow these steps for proper installation of your TOSHIBA GR-RT835WE-PGY:

1. Choose a suitable location:

• Install the refrigerator on a strong, level floor.

• Avoid humid or wet places, like near a kitchen sink, to prevent corrosion or electrical leakage.

• Keep the refrigerator away from direct sunlight, gas ranges, or other heat-emitting objects to ensure efficient cooling.

2. Level the refrigerator:

• Turn the adjustable leg on the right side to stabilize the refrigerator horizontally.

5. Initial Use:

• When you first open the door, a smell of plastics may be present. This is normal and not a malfunction.

When moving and transporting your TOSHIBA GR-RT835WE-PGY, follow these steps:

1. First, remove all food from the refrigerator.

2. Place a large piece of cloth under the refrigerator.

3. Lean the refrigerator backwards to remove water from the drain pan.

4. When carrying, hold the refrigerator by the front lower side and rear upper side. Never hold it by the door or the handle.

Follow these steps to make ice using the automatic ice maker:

1. Open the water supply cap on the water tank by following the arrow direction.

2. Fill the tank with potable water up to the “WATER LEVEL” line, then close the cap.

3. Carefully hold the tank and push the water-filled tank inside until it stops. Be careful not to tilt or shake the tank to avoid spilling water.

Ice Making Capacity:

• Generally, the ice maker produces 10 ice cubes within 2 hours with an outside temperature of 30°C and the door closed.

• Ice making time can be longer if the door is opened frequently, a large amount of food is stored, the outside temperature is high, or if the refrigerator is being used for the first time.

Important Notes:

• It is recommended to use chlorinated water. If using other types of water, ensure it is pure.

• To prevent dampness and molds, wash the tank with clean water every time before use.

• For first-time use, or when not in use for a week or more, throw away the first batch of ice (about 30 cubes) as they may be smelly or contaminated.

• Do not fill the tank with anything other than water, such as hot water (above 60°C) or fruit juice.

1. Fill the ice tray with water up to the water level line. If the water exceeds the line, the ice will freeze over and become hard to remove.

2. To remove the ice, twist the ice tray as shown in the manual’s diagram to release the cubes into the ice box.

Ice Making Capacity:

• Generally, the ice maker produces 32 ice cubes within 2 hours with an outside temperature of 30°C and the door closed.

• Ice making time can be longer if the door is opened frequently, a large amount of food is stored, the outside temperature is high, or if the refrigerator is being used for the first time.

Use your hand to touch the buttons to operate the control panel.

Energy Saving Mode:

• To start, press the “Fridge” button. The energy saving icon will appear on the display.

• To cancel, press the “Fridge” button again. The icon will disappear.

• Note: In this mode, the freezer compartment temperature will rise by approximately 1-2 degrees. Disable this function if beverages are not cool enough or ice making takes too long.

Quick Freezing Mode:

• To start, press the “Freezer” button. The quick freezing icon will appear.

• To disable, press the “Freezer” button again. The icon will disappear.

• Note: In this mode, the freezer compartment will operate continuously at a low temperature for 150 minutes before returning to normal operation. You can deactivate it sooner if desired.

Temperature Controls (Freezer Compartment):

• The temperature is set automatically, but you can adjust it.

• Press the “Fridge” button to decrease the freezing level (make it warmer).

• Press the “Freezer” button to increase the freezing level (make it colder).

• The display has 6 levels. Position “3” is the standard setting at about -19 to -20°C. Position “1” is the warmest, and position “6” is the coldest.

Temperature Controls (Refrigerator Compartment):

• This is also adjusted via the panel, with position “3” being the standard setting at about 5-6°C. Position “1” is the warmest and position “6” is the coldest.

This control panel allows for more precise temperature and mode settings.

Temperature Setting of Refrigerating Chamber:

• The temperature range is 2°C to 8°C.

• Press the “TEMP SELECT” button (B) to choose the refrigerating chamber.

• Press the up temperature button (A) to increase the temperature by 1 degree per press.

• Press the down temperature button (C) to decrease the temperature by 1 degree per press.

Temperature Setting of Freezing Chamber:

• The temperature range is -16°C to -24°C.

• Press the “TEMP SELECT” button (B) to choose the freezing chamber.

• Press the up temperature button (A) to increase the temperature by 1 degree per press.

• Press the down temperature button (C) to decrease the temperature by 1 degree per press.

Mode Setting:

• Quick Cooling: After adjusting the refrigeration temperature down to 2 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter quick cooling mode. The quick cooling icon will light up. Press the button again to exit.

• Quick Freeze: After adjusting the freezing temperature down to -24 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter the quick freezing mode. The quick freezing icon will light up. Press the button again to exit.

Locking / Unlocking:

• In the non-locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds to enter the locking state; a buzzer will sound.

• In the locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds to enter the non-locking state; a buzzer will sound.

• The panel will lock automatically after 30 seconds of no button operation.

• The ice is smelly: This can happen if water has been in the tank for a long time, the tank is dirty, or if smelly food is stored in the freezer. Clean the tank and use fresh water.

• The ice melts or sticks together: This may occur if the freezer door is opened too long or frequently, if there was a power failure, or if the ice has been stored for a long time.

• The ice has white particles in it: If you use water with high mineral content (e.g., mineral water), calcium crystals can form white stains in the ice. This does not deteriorate your health.

• The ice maker is noisy: A noise is normal when ice cubes drop into the ice box. The noise will be louder when there are few cubes in the box. If the water tank is empty, the pump will operate with noise. Ensure the pump is installed correctly.

• Ice is not being made or there are few cubes: Check if there is water in the tank. If the refrigerator just started, it can take 5-6 hours or more to make ice. Ensure the tank is in the proper position, the door is closed completely, and no food is stored in the ice box itself.

• There is water in the tank installation area: Check if the water was filled over the “WATER LEVEL” line. Ensure all parts of the tank are installed correctly and the cover is closed properly.

If a warning appears on the display, it indicates a corresponding fault. Though the refrigerator may still have a freezing function, you should contact a maintenance specialist. The fault codes are as follows:

If the refrigerator is not cold at all:

• Check if the refrigerator is plugged into the socket properly.

• Check if the fuse for your house’s electricity supply has blown or if the circuit breaker has shut off.

If the refrigerator is not cold enough:

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MIN”?

• Is the refrigerator placed in direct sunlight or near a stove or heater?

• Is the door closed properly?

• Is the door being opened and closed too frequently or for long periods?

• Has anything hot been placed in the refrigerator?

• Is the refrigerator overloaded?

• Is there sufficient air circulation around the refrigerator?

• Has the electricity supply been shut off?

If food is freezing in the refrigerator compartment, check the following:

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MAX”?

• Is the surrounding ambient temperature lower than 5°C?

• Did you place food with high moisture content at the rear of the compartment? This area can cause freezing.

Check these possible causes for noise:

• Is the floor firm and level?

• Are there any trays or dishes around the refrigerator that could be vibrating?

• Is the refrigerator installed unstably or is it touching a wall?

Please note that it is normal for the refrigerator surface to get warm or for the compressor to make noise when the power is first turned on or when the ambient temperature is high. It will run normally once it enters a stable state.

Moisture on the outside:

• Sometimes, moisture may form on the outside of the refrigerator, particularly when humidity is high, such as during the rainy season. This is similar to moisture forming on a glass of cold water and does not indicate a malfunction. If there is moisture on the outside, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

Moisture or flake inside:

• Is the door frequently opened and closed or left open for a long time?

• Is there food with high moisture stored uncovered in the refrigerator?

• If there is moisture and flake inside the refrigerator, wipe it off with a dry cloth.
