Please follow these tips for the correct and safe use of your TOSHIBA AF-74CS1TRMY(H) Air Fryer:

• Exclusive use for 220-240V AC. DO NOT use in electrical outlets other than 220-240V AC.

• This appliance is for domestic use only and not for commercial use.

• Please read the instruction manual carefully for correct and safe use.

• Always keep this instruction manual in a readily accessible and safe place after reading it.

• Be sure to read the “Safety Precautions” to use the product in a proper and safe manner.

You should stop using the appliance immediately in the event of an abnormality or malfunction. Unplug the appliance and consult the retailer from whom you purchased it. Examples of abnormalities and faults include:

• The power cord end and the power cord become hot.

• The power cord is damaged or intermittent power failure occurs when touching the power cord.

• The body is distorted or becomes hot.

• Smoke or a burnt smell is coming from the body.

• The body is broken, loose, or makes a strange noise.

• No air is coming out of the air vent while cooking.

• Use a power socket of 220-240V AC and a rated current of 10A or more separately. Using a socket with other electrical appliances may cause it to become abnormal and lead to fire.

• If an extension cable is required, please use a separate power outlet rated at 10A or more.

• DO NOT use the product if the power plug and power cord are broken or if the power socket is loose.

• Any dust or water stains on the power cord plug should be cleaned promptly.

• Always use the special power cord. If it is damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer, its service department, or a professional.

• Do not forcibly bend the power cord, place it near high temperatures, tie it up, or carry heavy objects on it.

• DO NOT unplug the power supply with wet hands. Ensure your hands are dry.

• Make sure the mains plug is fully inserted when in use. Always unplug the power cord when the product is not in use or when you are away from home.

• Be careful not to trip over or snag the power cord during use.

• Make sure to use an earthed power socket to prevent electric shock from fault or leakage.

• Wipe dust off the power plugs regularly with a dry cloth.

• Hold the mains plug while disconnecting it from the socket; do not pull the power cord.

• This appliance is not intended for use by infants, young children, persons with physical, perceptual or intellectual incapacity, or those who lack experience and knowledge. Keep it out of their reach.

• Any use of the product for purposes other than those stated in the manual is prohibited.

• Do not dismantle, repair, or alter the appliance. Repairs should be done by a professional maintenance outlet.

• Never clean the body, power plug, or power cord with water. Never expose the body to water or pour water on or into it.

• Do not insert foreign objects like pins or iron wire into the air vent at the bottom.

• The exterior surface becomes hot during use. Do not touch hot parts or place your hands or face near the air outlet. Use the handle. If you must hold the barrel when hot, protect yourself from burns.

• This appliance is for indoor use only. Leave at least 30cm of space around it and ensure no combustible objects are nearby.

• Do not move or shake the product during operation.

• Before starting, check that the baking tray/barrel is in place correctly.

• Do not cover the air vent with cloths during operation.

• Use of non-special or deformed barrels is prohibited.

• Never touch hot parts while in use or just after cooking, including the air outlet, fryer barrel, bottom heating plate, and protective mesh.

• Do not put items such as paper, plastic, or other flammable items into the appliance for baking.

• Do not leave children to operate the appliance alone.

• Use on an induction hob is prohibited.

• Stacking objects on top of the appliance is prohibited.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended for long periods during use.

• Always use the product on a smooth, heat-resistant surface.

• DO NOT place it in direct sunlight or where it can be splashed with oil.

• Clean the body and surrounding area of food residues after each use, once the product has cooled down.

• DO NOT knock or drop the barrel onto hard objects.

• Never touch movable parts to prevent pinching.

• DO NOT leave too much food to cook, as it may affect cooking results.

• DO NOT cook with a large amount of cooking oil to avoid grease smoke or fire.

• DO NOT leave the barrel on a gas hob, induction hob, or in a microwave oven.

• DO NOT damage the fluoropolymer coating on the surface of the appliance.

• DO NOT use the barrel as a storage unit.

• The product should work at an altitude range of 0 – 2,000m.

• The surface becomes very hot during operation.

• For first use, let the appliance dry burn at 200°C for 10 minutes. A small amount of white smoke or odor is normal during this process.

1. Rinse the barrel and baking tray with water prior to use.

2. Dry with a clean soft cloth after washing.

When powered on, the buzzer beeps and the air fryer enters standby mode, showing “—-“.

• **Enter Menu Selection:** Click any key or adjust the knob in standby mode. The selected menu will blink.

• **Select a Menu:** Turn the knob to select other menus.

• **Adjust Temperature:** Click the TEMP key. The digital tube flashes the temperature. Adjust it by turning the knob (- for left, + for right). It confirms automatically after 5 seconds of no operation.

• **Adjust Time:** Click the TIME key. The digital tube flashes the time. Adjust it by turning the knob (- for left, + for right). It confirms automatically after 5 seconds of no operation.

• **Start/Pause:** Short press the Start/Pause button (▷00) to start or pause cooking.

• **Cancel:** Press and hold the CANCEL key (X) or the Start/Pause button (▷00) during cooking to cancel. The buzzer will beep and return to the menu selection.

1. Plug in the power supply to enter standby mode.

2. Press any key or adjust the knob for menu selection. The default “Air Fry” function will flash. Turn the knob right to select: Air Fry → Roast → Preheat → Bake → Defrost → Dehydrate → Memory → French Fries → Chicken Wings → Chicken Legs → Fish → Shrimp. Turn left to reverse the selection.

3. After putting the ingredients into the frying barrel, press the START key or the adjusting knob to enter cooking mode. The “Cooking” status LED will light up, and the display will alternate between time and temperature.

4. For certain menus (Memory, French Fries, Chicken Wings, Chicken Legs, Fish, Shrimp, Air Fry, Roast, Reheat, Defrost), the buzzer will beep 5 times halfway through the set time. The “Turn Over” status LED will be ON, and the display will show “turn Food”. If you remove the barrel within 10 seconds, the display shows “OPEN”. Turn the ingredients over, push the barrel back, and cooking will resume. If the barrel is not removed, cooking continues automatically.

5. When cooking is finished, the buzzer beeps 5 times, the digital tube shows “End”, and the fan continues to cool the air fryer for some time.

1. Never use non-heat resistant items like plastic to hold food in the air fryer.

2. Never serve food in glass or ceramic containers for cooking.

3. Adjust the cooking time to your taste. Do not leave for long periods to avoid scorching. Pull out the barrel if necessary to check the food.

4. For better results, it is recommended to preheat the oven for 3-5 minutes before use.

5. The external surface and air outlet will be very hot during and after cooking. Do not touch or move the air fryer to avoid burns.

6. Ensure the barrel is pushed in correctly to trigger the micro switch for safe operation.

7. The silicone on the baking tray and barrel is heat-resistant and food-grade. It protects the coating from scratches. Do not remove it.

1. Place the appliance steadily on a flat table, with the power cord long enough to reach a socket. Keep a distance of 30 cm or more around the appliance and away from flammable objects.

2. Put the ingredients into the barrel and push it into the main unit. The bucket must be fitted into place. Do not stack ingredients too high.

3. When “End” is displayed, press the top of the appliance with one hand and pull the barrel out by its handle with the other. Place the barrel on a heat-insulating pad. Remove food using auxiliary tools like chopsticks. Be careful not to touch hot parts like the barrel.

Ingredients: 5 eggs, 90g sugar, appropriate amount of lemon juice, 30ml vegetable oil, 150g low gluten flour, 2g baking powder.

Method:

1. Separate egg whites and yolks. Mix the egg yolks with vegetable oil and set aside. Mix the low gluten flour and baking powder.

2. Mix the egg whites, sugar, and lemon juice. Beat with a whisk until the mixture is not runny and forms sharp corners. Add the egg yolk and vegetable oil mixture and mix well. Finally, add the flour mixture and mix until there is no dry powder.

3. Pour the mixture into paper cups, place them flat in a baking tray or the frying barrel, and push it into the main unit.

4. Select the “Bake” function and press the adjusting knob or button to start. The default setting is 170°C for 13 minutes.

Caution: For maintenance, unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely to prevent burns.

Please note: Odors may arise if the appliance is used before washing, so keep it clean.

Never use the following items, as they may cause distortion, corrosion, discoloration, cracks, or scratches:

• Dishwashing dryers and tableware dryers

• Detergents other than neutral kitchen detergents

• Gasoline, thinner, alcohol, stain remover, and bleach

• Items that can cause scratches such as steel wool, blades, etc.

Washing Instructions:

• Wash the barrel and baking tray after each use with a sponge and a neutral kitchen detergent.

• DO NOT immerse the body in water. Use a damp, wrung-out towel to wipe the body.

• Clear food residues and foreign objects from the baking tray and barrel to avoid damage to the coating.

• DO NOT use a cloth that is too wet to clean the air fryer, as water entering the electronic parts can cause short circuits, fire, or electric shock.

• Check the appliance regularly and clean it promptly if there is any oil, dirt, etc.

• DO NOT place the fryer barrel on a gas hob, an induction hob, or in a microwave oven.

• DO NOT bump or drop the fryer barrel onto hard objects.

• DO NOT damage the fluoropolymer coating on the inside of the barrel.

To prevent scratching or peeling of the coating, please note the following:

• DO NOT place cutlery in the inner pot or use the pot as a wash bucket.

• DO NOT use brushes or dishwashing dryers for cleaning.

• DO NOT wash with stain removers, bleach, etc. Always wash with a neutral kitchen detergent.

• DO NOT clean with abrasive surfaces like steel wool or the abrasive side of a sponge. Use the soft surface of a sponge.

• Even if the coating on the outside of the barrel is scratched, it will still work properly. When using the barrel, you can put a rag underneath to protect the bottom of the inner pot from scratches.

Note: Never use this product at altitudes above 2,000m.
