1. MULTI-FUNCTION CONTROL WHEEL (TOP): The control wheel serves many functions:

Power: When the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) is off, press to power the unit on. When the unit is on in any source, press to power it off.

Volume: When the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) is on in any source, rotate clockwise to increase the volume level and counter-clockwise to decrease the volume level.

Snooze: Press to engage Snooze when the alarm sounds. An icon will show on the display when Snooze is active. The Snooze time is fixed at 10 minutes. Pressing the Snooze button again while still in Snooze mode will re-set the Snooze timer back to 10 minutes. While the alarm is sounding, press and hold down the Snooze button to turn off the alarm and the unit, or press the respective alarm button.

2. LCD: This display shows time, source, reception level, and other status icons.

3. TUNE +/-: In DAB mode, use these buttons to show all available DAB/DAB+ stations. Use the +/- buttons to highlight specific stations, and the highlighted station will tune automatically after 3 seconds, or you can press the Enter button on the remote. In FM mode, press the Tune +/- buttons briefly to Auto Scan to the next detected station.

4. SLEEP: Press repeatedly to activate the amount of time the radio will play before it turns off automatically. You can also press the Select button on the remote to choose the time. A small clock face icon will show on the display when the Sleep timer is active. To cancel Sleep, press the Sleep button until the display shows “Off”.

5. BLUETOOTH: Press to enter Bluetooth mode. Press and hold the Bluetooth button to clear the memory of all paired devices. The display will show “Memory Cleared”.

6. SOURCE: Press repeatedly to change sources (e.g., DAB, FM, Auxiliary, Bluetooth).

7. ALARM 1 AND 2: Press to set the desired wake time for either alarm. This automatically sets the alarm to wake.

8. ALARM KNOB: After pressing an Alarm button, rotate this knob to set the hour and push the knob in to Enter. Then, do the same for the minutes and press the knob in when done. The alarm time will also set automatically after 3 seconds. The alarm will be set to wake.

1. 12VDC/1500mA: Use this input to operate the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) with its included external power supply. Use only the provided power supply. The connector is 5.5 mm/2.1 mm center positive.

2. EXTERNAL ANTENNA: An external telescoping antenna is affixed to this input and is not intended to be detached. Adjust it for the best reception.

3. HEADPHONE OUT: Connect a headset (not included) to this variable stereo output for private listening. The headset will mute the primary speaker. The volume is adjusted using the control wheel or the remote. This output accepts a 3.5 mm stereo male mini connector.

4. AUX IN: To hear audio from another device (like a CD player, MP3 player, etc.), connect its audio output to this stereo input and change the source to Auxiliary. This input accepts a 3.5 mm stereo male mini connector. You may need to adjust the volume level differently for an auxiliary device than for radio listening.

5. HANDLE: The integrated carry handle also serves as a storage compartment for the remote control.

6. BATTERY COMPARTMENT: Houses the Lithium-ion battery pack.

1. POWER: Press briefly to power the unit on or off.

2. MUTE/SNOOZE: Press to mute audio. Press again or adjust volume to restore sound. When the alarm sounds, press to mute it for 10 minutes (Snooze).

3. ALARM: With the unit on, use the ▲/▼ and Select buttons to adjust and set the alarms.

4. SLEEP: Press repeatedly to activate the sleep timer. Press the Select button to confirm the time.

5. SOURCE: Press repeatedly to change sources.

6. INFO: Press repeatedly to cycle through available information for the current source.

7. PRESETS 1-5: Press and hold to store the current station. Press briefly to recall a stored station. There are 5 presets for each band (DAB and FM).

8. VOLUME +/-: Press + to raise volume, press – to lower volume.

9. ▲/▼ / TUNE +/-: Use to adjust menu items. In DAB mode, use to show available stations. In FM mode, press briefly to Auto Scan to the next station.

10. ► / ◄: The right arrow (►) duplicates the Select button. The left arrow (◄) moves you to the previous page in certain menus.

11. MENU/SELECT: Press and hold to enter the main menu. Press briefly to select items within the menu.

12. STAGE: Press to change the Wide/Stereo/Mono setting. Only FM mode can be changed to Mono.

13. BACK: Press to go back to the previous menu page.

Note: With the radio in standby, you can turn the display off by briefly pressing the ▲ arrow button twice. While off, press ▲ once to turn the display on for 10 seconds.

In DAB mode, press and hold the Menu button on the remote to enter the main menu. Use the ▲/▼ buttons and the Select button to change items. Use the Back button to navigate back. The menu will time out after nine seconds of inactivity.

1. AUTO SCAN: Searches the entire frequency range. Perform a new scan if you move the unit to a new location.

2. TIVOLI EQ: Adjust Bass, Treble, and Loudness. You can select pre-set EQ settings (e.g., Flat) or use “User EQ” for your custom settings.

3. MANUAL TUNE: Use the ▲/▼ buttons to manually tune specific DAB/DAB+ frequencies.

4. DRC (Dynamic Range Control): Changes the sound level of stations to make quiet passages louder, useful in noisy environments.

5. SETTINGS (A-F):

A. ALARM: Accesses alarm settings.

B. TIME: Manually set time/date, choose an auto-update source (DAB, FM, or any), and set 12/24 hour format and date format.

C. BACKLIGHT: Adjust the Timeout (how long until the backlight dims), On Level (brightness when active), and Dim Level (brightness when dimmed).

D. LANGUAGE: Set your preferred language.

E. FACTORY RESET: Restore factory defaults and cancel personal settings like presets and language.

F. ID: View the product’s ID number.

In FM mode, press and hold the Menu/Select button on the remote to enter the main menu. Use the ▲/▼ buttons and the Select button to change items. The menu times out after nine seconds of inactivity.

1. SCAN SETTING: Choose between “Strong stations only” or “All stations” for auto scans. “All stations” increases sensitivity but may stop on noise.

2. AUTO SCAN: Enable or disable Auto Scan. When enabled, pressing the Tune +/- buttons automatically tunes to the next received station. When disabled, the Tune +/- buttons navigate frequencies manually.

3. RDS: Enable or disable the display of FM RDS text.

4. TIVOLI EQ: Access the same equalizer settings as in the Digital Radio menu.

5. SETTINGS: Access the same general settings as in the Digital Radio menu.

In Auxiliary mode, press and hold the Menu/Select button on the remote to enter the main menu. The menu times out after nine seconds of inactivity.

1. TIVOLI EQ: Access the equalizer settings.

2. ALARM 2: Disable Alarm 2 if you do not expect to use it.

3. SETTINGS: Access the general settings menu.

4. VOLUME LIMIT: Reduce the maximum volume level to 26 or 22 (default is 30). This will also reduce the level of the alarm’s volume.

5. BLUETOOTH LEVEL: Select “Low” to reduce the range of the Bluetooth signal if you only plan to use it in very close proximity. The recommended setting is “Normal”.

1. With the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) powered on, access the alarm settings by pressing the alarm button on the remote, or by pressing and holding the Menu button on the remote. Once in the Menu, select “Settings” and then “Alarm”.

2. Alarm 1 is shown first. Use the ▲/▼ and Select buttons to choose between Alarm 1 and Alarm 2.

3. Use the ▲/▼ and Select buttons to set the alarm on or off.

4. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to set/change the hour, then press Select. Repeat this process for the minutes, followed by AM/PM (if time is set to 12-hour format), then press Select.

5. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select the source you wish to wake to (DAB, FM, tone), then press Select. If you select DAB or FM, use the ▲/▼ buttons to select a station preset or the last listened station, then press Select.

6. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to set how often the alarm should occur (e.g., Daily, Weekends), then press Select.

7. Lastly, use the ▲/▼ buttons to set the volume level of the alarm, then press Select.

8. Repeat this process for Alarm 2 if desired.

Note: Your settings will not be saved unless you complete the entire process and the display shows “Alarm Saved”. If you set the alarm source to a DAB station that is unavailable at the alarm time, the alarm will default to the tone.

The alarm sounds with a gradual volume increase. When the alarm sounds, you can either activate Snooze or shut the alarm off.

Snooze: To activate Snooze while the alarm is sounding, press the Snooze button on the remote, or briefly press the Multi-Function Control Wheel on top of the unit. The Snooze time is not adjustable and is set for 10 minutes. While the alarm is sounding, you can press and hold the Snooze top wheel to turn off the alarm and the unit.

Alarm off: To stop the alarm while it is sounding, press the Alarm button on the unit or remote, or press and hold the Multi-Function Control Wheel on top of the unit. You can also press the Power button on the remote.

Alarm Quick Set: With the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) in Standby, you can repeatedly press the alarm button on the remote briefly to toggle each alarm on or off.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The alarm cannot sound if the unit is off and not connected to the external adapter.

The alarm volume will ramp-up over time. It will take several seconds to reach the volume level set in the alarm menu.

Should power be lost or the battery become discharged, the alarm time will be saved, but the alarm cannot sound without power.

Before pairing, ensure your device supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR A2DP and is not connected to any other Bluetooth product.

1. Press the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS)’s front panel Bluetooth button or change the source to Bluetooth. This will power on the Bluetooth feature. Turn the volume up about ¼ to start. Also, turn up the volume on your source device.

2. Turn on the Bluetooth wireless technology on your enabled device.

3. Select “Tivoli Bluetooth (Not Paired)” when it appears on your device’s screen to start searching. Some devices may prompt you for a PIN. If so, enter “0000”. “Tivoli Bluetooth” will change from “Not Paired” to “Connected”.

4. You will hear a ring tone from the unit confirming the connection, and you can begin playing your music wirelessly. Adjust the volume level on your device.

Note: You should not have to pair your device again. Depending on your device, you may need to make multiple attempts at pairing, but allow adequate time between attempts.

The installed Li-Ion battery pack is partially charged. To charge it, connect the provided external power supply to the radio and plug it in. A full charge takes approximately 12 hours, while 2-3 hours provides about a 75% charge. The display shows the charging/battery status only when operating on battery power.

Icon shows fully charged

The flashing plug icon means the battery is charging, while the steady plug icon means the adapter is connected.

Keeping the adapter connected after the battery is fully charged will do no harm. Partial charging is preferred over full charging of a very low battery pack. Playback time varies by volume level and material. When operating on battery-only power with the unit turned off, all power is cut to preserve battery power; therefore, the remote control, Sleep timer, and Alarms will not operate.

CAUTION: Danger of fire or explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with a genuine Tivoli Audio replacement battery pack of the same type. Dispose of spent batteries according to your country’s regulations.

The included external antenna provides good reception. In strong FM signal locations, reducing the antenna’s length may improve reception.

If you are listening to a noisy FM station, press the Stage button on the remote until an “M” appears on the display. Placing the tuner in Mono may make noisy FM stations more listenable.

Buildings made with concrete, steel, or aluminum siding will hinder reception. Household appliances, computers, and other electronic devices can also adversely affect reception or inject noise. If you experience this, move the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) further from the offending device or plug it into an electrical outlet not shared by another device.

Note: When moving the TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) to a location with different DAB stations, it is recommended to perform a factory reset to initiate a new scan and refresh the DAB station list.

Secondary Services: Secondary stations will be indicated by a >> symbol next to the station name. These services may not be available in your area.

“?”: If this symbol appears next to the station name, it means the station is invalid or inactive.

“Not Available”: This is shown when tuning a DAB station with an insufficient signal.

RDS (Radio Data System) is a service for the FM band only that transmits text data along with the audio broadcast. Not all FM stations use this service, so text may not be present for some stations. For stations that do broadcast RDS, the text might not appear or might appear scrambled if the signal is too weak. In such cases, experiment with the position of the FM antenna. If RDS is being received, you can repeatedly press the Info button on the remote to see the available information. The content of the RDS text is determined by each individual FM station.

Placement:

Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Do not obstruct the rear bass ports for proper bass and ventilation. The unit is not video shielded and should be kept at a minimum of 127 mm away from a computer monitor or television. Placement in a bookcase, cabinet, or close to walls or corners may inflate the bass, creating an unnatural sound.

Cleaning:

Never use any harsh cleansers or solvents on your radio.

Handling:

Do not allow water or other liquids or objects to get inside the rear port tubes. The unit should not be immersed in water or held under running water. It should not be exposed to extreme temperatures. The TIVOLI AUDIO MUSIC SYSTEM THREE+ (THREEPLUS) is designed to be portable but is not indestructible. Do not drop it, throw it, or subject it to strong impacts. Always grip the unit using the integrated carry handle to reduce the chance of it slipping.
