The TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L is a versatile power supply for Audiocom intercom systems. Its key features include:

11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

1. Combine/Isolate Switch: In the ‘Combine’ position, it combines the audio signals of the two channels into a single channel for all users to intercommunicate. In the ‘Isolate’ position, it creates two completely independent user groups.

2. Channel Status Indicators: These indicators are green for normal operation. They turn red when there is an overload or short circuit. The circuitry will automatically reset once the issue is fixed.

3. Universal AC Power Input: This input accepts any power in the range of 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

4. Intercom Channel Connectors: When the switch is set to ‘Isolate’, each channel connector is powered separately with separate audio. When set to ‘Combine’, each channel is still powered separately, but the audio signals are combined.

5. BAL/UNBAL Selector Switch: This switch configures the TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L for use with either an Audiocom® (BALANCED) or Clear-Com (UNBALANCED) system. It adjusts channel connector pin-outs, power requirements, and call signaling. The default setting is Audiocom® (BAL).

BAL/UNBAL Switch:

This switch is located on the rear of the unit and is set to the Balanced (Audiocom) position from the factory. To change it to the Unbalanced (Clear-Com) mode, use a pointed object like a pen to push in the switch.

Combine/Isolate Switch:

This switch is on the front of the unit and can be changed at any time using a pointed object. When in the ‘Combine’ position, all users on both channels can intercommunicate. In the ‘Isolate’ position, channels 1 and 2 cannot intercommunicate.

When connecting intercom stations to the TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L, you must determine the total current for all stations on each channel. The total current per channel should not exceed 1.0A. If this limit is exceeded, an overload indication will appear, and the power supply output will turn OFF. Once the overload is corrected, the indication will disappear and the power supply will turn ON again. Note that if you are using DC wallpacks with some intercom stations, you do not need to add the current consumption of those stations to the total current.

Desktop Use: Install the four supplied rubber feet to the bottom of the unit. Ensure you do not obstruct the cooling vents when using the TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L on a desktop.

Rackmount Use: To rack mount the unit, use an optional Audiocom Rackmount Kit. Several kits are available to meet different system requirements. Follow the assembly instructions that come with the rack mount kit.

“Y” CABLE WIRING

For “Y” cable wiring, use a second drain wire if available, or add an extra section of wire.

Standard cables are generally constructed with a male connector on one end and a female on the other. Audiocom power supplies use a 3-pin male Neutrik connector for each channel.

To provide a greater capacity on each channel, you can use two TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L power supplies. One unit will be dedicated to Channel 1 and the other to Channel 2.

1. Set the Combine/Isolate switch on both PS-2001L units to ‘Combine’.

2. Connect the “Channel 1 Power” PS-2001L to half of the stations on channel 1.

3. Connect the other “Channel 1 Power” output to the master station’s channel 1 input.

4. Connect the “Channel 2 Power” PS-2001L to half of the stations on channel 2.

5. Connect the other “Channel 2 Power” output to the master station’s channel 2 input.

This setup effectively doubles the power available for each intercom channel.

1. Plug in any DC wallpacks that are being used with individual intercom stations. NOTE: If you plug in DC wallpacks after applying power to the PS-2001L, you may get an overload indication because stations will draw current from the unit until their own wallpack is connected. To correct this, simply plug in the DC wallpacks first.

2. Plug in the AC power cords for any connected TELEX AUDIOCOM PS-2001L Power Supplies. The channel status indicators should turn green.

3. If a channel status indicator turns red during operation, locate the short or overload causing the problem. Once corrected, the Power Supply will reset itself, and the overload indication will go away.
