You can charge your SPRINT SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 using the included AC adapter or by connecting it to a PC.

Charge Using the AC Adapter:

It is recommended you fully charge the battery before using your device for the first time. For fastest charging times, use the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger that came with your device.

1. Plug the USB cable into the USB charger/accessory port on the bottom of your phone.

2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the charging head.

3. Plug the charging head into an electrical outlet.

4. After charging, disconnect the phone from the charger by unplugging the charging head from the outlet and removing the micro USB cable from the phone and charging head.

Charge Using a PC Connection:

Before using a PC connection to charge your phone, ensure that the computer is turned on.

1. Insert the small end of the USB cable into the USB charger/accessory port on the bottom of your phone.

2. Insert the large end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.

3. After charging, remove the USB cable from both the phone and the computer.

Note: This phone has an integrated battery that cannot be removed by the user. Use only charging devices approved by Samsung.

Turn Your Phone On:

Press and hold the Power/Lock key.

Your phone will power on. Depending on the settings, you may see the lock screen. The first time you turn the phone on, you will see the startup screens.

Turn Your Phone Off:

1. Press and hold the Power/Lock key to display the device options menu.

2. Tap Power off to turn the phone off.

Your phone will power off. Your screen remains blank while your phone is off (unless the battery is charging).

Your SPRINT SAMSUNG GALAXY S6’s touchscreen lets you control actions through a variety of touch gestures:

• Tap: When you want to type using the keyboard, select items such as application and settings icons, or press buttons, simply tap or touch them with your finger.

• Touch and Hold: To open the available options for an item (for example, a contact or link in a Web page), touch and hold the item.

• Swipe or Slide: To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen.

• Drag: To drag, press and hold your finger with some pressure before you start to move your finger. While dragging, do not release your finger until you have reached the target position.

• Flick: Flicking the screen is similar to swiping, except that you need to swipe your finger in light, quick strokes. This finger gesture is always in a vertical direction, such as when flicking the contacts or message list.

• Rotate: For most screens, you can automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by turning the phone sideways. When entering text, you can turn the phone sideways to bring up a bigger keyboard.

• Pinch and Spread: Pinch the screen using your thumb and forefinger to zoom out or spread the screen to zoom in when viewing a picture or a Web page.

Depending on your account and how you purchased your phone, it may be ready to use or you may need to activate it.

• If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is probably activated and ready to use.

• If you received your phone in the mail for a new Sprint account or a new line of service, it is designed to activate automatically. When you turn the phone on for the first time, you should see a Hands Free Activation screen. Follow the prompts to continue.

• If you are activating a new phone for an existing number on your account (swapping phones), you can activate on your computer or directly on your phone.

Activate on your computer:

Go to sprint.com/activate and complete the online instructions to activate your phone.

Activate on your phone:

1. Turn on your new phone. (Make sure the old one is turned off.) Your phone will automatically attempt Hands-Free Activation.

2. Tap Activate to override auto-activation and start the manual activation wizard.

3. Follow the prompts to complete the activation process.

To confirm activation, make a phone call. If you are having difficulty, visit sprint.com/support.

The setup screens help you set up certain features and preferences on your phone. Once your phone has been turned on, you will see a Welcome message.

1. From the Welcome screen, select a language and tap Start. You can tap Next or Skip to bypass sections.

2. Follow the prompts to complete each section:

• Wi-Fi: If prompted, sign in to an available Wi-Fi® network. You will need a password for secured networks.

• Terms and Conditions: Read any applicable agreements and tap Next > Agree to continue.

• Personalize your phone: If applicable, enter your first and last name and tap Next.

• Protect your phone: Activate device protection features to prevent others from using your phone without permission.

• Google services: Select your Google location and service options and then tap Next.

• Samsung account: Sign in to your current Samsung account or tap Create account to set up a new one.

• Easy mode: Switch between the default screen layout and a simpler layout with larger text and icons.

3. Tap Finish. Your setup is now complete.

You can use your phone’s power and home keys to capture screenshots.

Press and hold the Power/Lock key and Home key at the same time to capture a screenshot of the current screen.

The screenshot will be captured and stored in the Screenshots album in the phone’s Gallery. From home, tap Apps > Gallery.

Follow these instructions to display your phone’s wireless phone number:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > About device.

2. Tap Status > SIM card status.

You will see the number listed under “My phone number.”

Airplane mode turns off all functions that emit or receive signals, while leaving your phone on so you can use apps that do not require a signal or data.

To turn on airplane mode:

Pull down the status bar and tap Airplane mode > Turn on.

Your phone is now in airplane mode. You will see the airplane mode icon in the status bar.

To turn off airplane mode:

Pull down the status bar and tap Airplane mode.

Your phone’s wireless connection features are now restored.

You can type on your phone using the touchscreen Samsung keyboard or Google Voice™ typing.

Samsung Keyboard:

The keyboard appears automatically when you tap a text entry field. You can use these options:

• Delete: Tap to delete incorrect characters. Touch and hold to delete a whole word or field.

• Shift: Tap to change the case of the text. Tap twice to switch to all capitals.

• Symbols: Tap to switch to a symbols keyboard.

• Keyboard settings: Touch and hold to open an options menu for Voice input, Clipboard, Emoticons, or Keyboard settings.

• Spacebar: If you have more than one language selected, swipe your finger over the Spacebar to switch between languages.

Google Voice Typing:

1. While entering text, open the notification panel and tap Select keyboard > Google voice typing. Alternatively, touch and hold the Keyboard settings icon on the Samsung keyboard and tap Google voice typing.

2. Speak into the microphone and watch your text being entered onscreen.

3. If the text is incorrect, tap Delete.

4. Once you have completed entering your text, tap Exit. The keyboard will reappear.

Your phone provides several options to make text entry easier. Touch and hold text to highlight it, and then select from the following options:

• Select all: Highlights all the text in the field.

• Cut: Removes the selected text and saves it to the clipboard.

• Copy: Copies the selected text to the clipboard.

• Paste: Insert the last copied or cut text into the current field.

• Sharing: Send the text with others using a variety of sharing methods.

• Clipboard: Display the clipboard to choose previously cut or copied text.

• Dictionary: Access your personal dictionary.

• Assist: Perform a Google search on the selected term.

You need a Google Account to access several phone features like Gmail and the Google Play store.

Create a Google Account Using Your Phone:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > Accounts > Add account.

2. Tap Google, and then tap Or create a new account.

3. Follow the prompts to set up your account. This may include entering your name, choosing a username, setting a password, and adding recovery information.

4. Tap Finish setup.

Sign In to Your Existing Google Account:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > Accounts > Add account.

2. Tap Google, and then enter your email.

3. Enter your Gmail address and password, and then tap Next.

4. Complete any additional screens if prompted.

When you sign in to a Google Account on your SPRINT SAMSUNG GALAXY S6, Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is turned on. FRP prevents other people from using your device if it is reset to factory settings without your permission. If your device is lost or stolen and a factory data reset is performed, only someone with your Google Account username and password can use the device.

Enable Factory Reset Protection:

Adding a Google Account to your device automatically turns on the FRP security feature.

Disable Factory Reset Protection:

To disable FRP, you must remove all Google Accounts from the device.

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Accounts > Google.

3. Tap More > Remove account.

Caution: You should remove your Google Account before shipping your device for service and before resetting the device to factory settings.

You can find and install new Android apps, books, movies, and more from the Google Play Store.

1. From home, tap Apps > Play Store.

2. When you open the Google Play store app for the first time, accept the Terms of Service to continue.

3. Browse through categories or search for an item. To search, tap the Google Play search field, enter the name or type of app you are looking for, and then tap the search icon on the keyboard.

4. Tap an app to read its description and user reviews.

5. Tap Install (for free applications) or the price (for paid applications).

6. If you agree to the app’s required permissions, tap Accept (for free apps) or Accept and then Buy (for paid apps) to begin downloading and installing the app.

Request a Refund for a Paid App:

If you are not satisfied with an app, you can ask for a refund within 15 minutes of the purchase.

1. From home, tap Apps > Play Store.

2. Tap Menu > My apps & games.

3. Tap the app you want to uninstall for a refund.

4. Tap Refund, and then tap Yes to confirm. The app will be uninstalled, and the charge is canceled.

Update an App Directly:

1. From home, tap Apps > Play Store.

2. Tap Menu > My apps & games.

3. Tap the app you want to update, and then tap Update.

Uninstall an App:

1. From home, tap Apps > Play Store.

2. Tap Menu > My apps & games.

3. On the Installed screen, tap the app you want to uninstall, and then tap Uninstall > OK.

Turn the Screen Off When Not in Use:

To quickly turn the screen off, press the Power/Lock key. Pressing the key again or receiving an incoming call will turn the screen back on and show the lock screen.

Turn the Screen On and Unlock It:

1. To turn the screen on, press the Power/Lock key.

2. Swipe your finger across the screen to unlock it. If you have set up a screen lock, you will be prompted to draw the pattern, enter the password or PIN, or scan your fingerprint.

You can download and apply updates for your phone’s software, user profile, and Preferred Roaming List (PRL).

Update Your Phone’s Software:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > System Update.

2. Tap Download updates manually.

Your phone automatically downloads and installs any available updates. You may be required to power your phone off and back on to complete the upgrade.

Update Your Profile:

This option automatically updates your online user profile information.

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > System Update > Update Profile.

2. Follow the prompts. The phone will download and install the profile update.

Update Your PRL (Preferred Roaming List):

This option allows you to download and update the PRL automatically.

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > System Update > Update PRL.

2. Follow the prompts. The phone will download and install the PRL update.

The notification panel provides access to notifications and quick settings.

Open the Notification Panel:

Pull down the status bar by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen. To check notifications, tap an item in the list.

Close the Notification Panel:

Slide the notification panel up from the bottom of the screen, or tap the Back key.

Notification Panel Quick Settings:

The Quick Settings list at the top of the panel lets you quickly access frequently used settings. Scroll left or right to display all settings, and tap an icon to turn the feature on or off. You can customize which settings are available by tapping Expand > Edit.

S Finder:

Search your device for apps, contacts, messages, email, files, settings, and more.

1. Open the notification panel by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap Expand > S Finder.

3. Tap the Search field and enter search criteria.

4. Tap an item to view or launch.

Quick Connect:

Quickly connect wirelessly to nearby devices that support Quick connect, Wi-Fi Direct, Screen Mirroring, and devices that can share media using Wi-Fi.

1. Open the notification panel by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap Quick connect.

3. Your device scans for nearby available devices. Tap a device and follow the prompts to connect.

The Multi Window™ feature lets you multitask by using multiple applications at the same time on the same screen.

Activate Multi Window:

1. From any screen, tap the Recent apps key.

2. Tap two apps that support Multi Window to open them in split screen view.

Alternatively, you can launch recently used apps directly into Multi Window view:

1. From any screen, touch and hold the Recent apps key.

2. Recently used apps that support Multi Window have a Multi Window icon in their title bar. Tap the Multi Window icon to launch an application in split screen view.

3. Tap another app shortcut to add it to the split screen view.

Window Controls:

Select an app window, and then tap the Window controls circle in the middle of the window border to access options like switching windows, dragging content, minimizing, maximizing, or closing the app.

You can customize your Home screen by changing the wallpaper and adding shortcuts, widgets, and folders.

Change the Wallpaper:

1. From home, touch and hold an empty space, and then tap Wallpapers.

2. Tap an option to select the wallpaper (Home screen, Lock screen, or Home and lock screens).

3. Select a wallpaper and tap Set as wallpaper.

Add Shortcuts to the Home Screen:

1. From home, tap Apps.

2. Touch and hold an app icon.

3. Drag the icon to an empty location on one of the home screens.

Add Widgets to the Home Screen:

1. From home, touch and hold an empty space, and then tap Widgets.

2. Touch and hold a widget icon.

3. Drag the icon to an empty location on one of the home screens.

Add Folders to the Home Screen:

1. From home, touch and hold a shortcut you want to place in a folder, and then drag it on top of another shortcut and release it.

2. A new folder is created. Type a name, and then tap the Back key.

Wi-Fi Calling uses Wi-Fi networks to help improve voice and data coverage, especially in areas with poor cellular reception.

Set Up Wi-Fi Calling:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Wi-Fi Calling and follow the prompts to set it up.

Enable or Disable Wi-Fi Calling:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > Wi-Fi Calling.

2. Tap On/Off to turn Wi-Fi Calling on or off.

You will see a Wi-Fi Calling icon in the status bar when the feature is active and connected.

Make a Call Using the Phone Dialer:

1. From home, tap Phone. If necessary, tap Keypad.

2. Tap the number keys on the keypad to enter the phone number.

3. Tap Dial to call the number.

4. To end the call, tap End.

Answer an Incoming Call:

When a call arrives, slide the Answer icon to the right to answer it.

Reject an Incoming Call:

When a call arrives, slide the Reject icon to the left to reject it.

Reject a Call and Send a Text Message:

When a call arrives, slide Reject call with message up from the bottom of the screen and tap one of the preset messages to send it to the caller.

You can place calls to 9-1-1 even if the phone’s screen is locked or your account is restricted.

To call 9-1-1 when the screen is locked:

1. From the lock screen, swipe the Phone icon up, and then tap Emergency call.

2. Tap 9-1-1, and tap Dial.

To call 9-1-1 normally:

1. Unlock the screen.

2. From home, tap Phone > Keypad.

3. Tap 9-1-1, and tap Dial.

Important: Always report your location to the 9-1-1 operator when placing an emergency call. Some emergency call takers may not be equipped to receive GPS location information from your phone.

While you are on a call, you will see a number of options:

• Add call: Tap to initiate a conference call (3-way call).

• Merge: Join two currently active calls (conference).

• Swap: Switch between two active calls (call waiting).

• Extra volume: Increase the call volume.

• Bluetooth: Route the phone’s audio through a connected Bluetooth headset.

• Speaker: Route the phone’s audio through the speakerphone.

• Keypad/Hide: Toggle the appearance of the onscreen keypad to enter additional numbers.

• Mute: Mute the microphone during an active call. Tap again to unmute.

• End: End the current call.

• More: Tap during a call to display additional features like accessing Contacts, sending a Message, creating a Memo, or viewing the Calendar.

You should set up your voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your phone is activated.

Voicemail Setup:

1. From home, tap Phone > Keypad.

2. Touch and hold the 1 key to dial your voicemail number.

3. Follow the system prompts to create your passcode, record your name announcement, and record your greeting.

Set Up Visual Voicemail:

Visual Voicemail allows you to easily access and select which messages you want to review.

1. From home, tap Apps > Voicemail.

2. Tap Personalize now and follow the system prompts to create a password, record your name, and record your greeting.

Review Visual Voicemail:

1. From home, tap Apps > Voicemail.

2. Tap a message to review it.

Call Waiting:

When you are on a call, Call Waiting alerts you to an incoming call with two beeps. To respond, slide the Answer icon to the right. This puts the first caller on hold and answers the second call. To switch back to the first caller, tap Swap.

Conference Calling (3-way calling):

1. While on a call, tap Add call and dial the second number.

2. Once connected to the second party, tap Merge. Your conference call is now in session.

3. To end the three-way call, tap End.

Call Forwarding:

This lets you forward all incoming calls to another phone number.

• To activate: From the phone keypad, tap *72, enter the area code and phone number, then tap Dial.

• To deactivate: From the phone keypad, tap *720, then tap Dial.

You can add, edit, delete, and manage contacts from various sources.

Add a Contact:

1. From home, tap Apps > Contacts.

2. Tap Add (the plus icon).

3. Select a location to save the contact (Device, Google, or Samsung account).

4. Enter the contact’s information, such as name, phone number, and email.

5. When finished, tap Save.

Edit a Contact:

1. From the Contacts list, tap a contact to view its details.

2. Tap Edit.

3. Add or edit the information, and then tap Save.

Delete a Contact:

1. From the Contacts list, tap a contact to view its details.

2. Tap More > Delete.

3. Tap Delete again to confirm.

Import/Export Contacts:

1. From the Contacts list, tap More > Settings > Import/Export contacts.

2. Tap Import or Export and follow the prompts.

You can send and receive instant text messages and multimedia messages containing pictures, videos, and more.

Send a Text Message (SMS):

1. From home, tap Apps > Messages.

2. Tap Compose.

3. Enter phone numbers in the Enter recipients field or tap the Recipients icon to select from your contacts.

4. Tap the Enter message field and compose your message.

5. When done, tap Send.

Send a Multimedia Message (MMS):

1. Follow steps 1-4 for sending a text message.

2. Tap the Attachment icon.

3. Select a file attachment type (e.g., Camera, Gallery, Audio, Video).

4. Select the file you want to attach.

5. Tap Send to send the MMS message.

You can send, receive, and manage your Gmail messages directly from your phone.

Create and Send a Gmail Message:

1. From home, tap Apps > Google > Gmail.

2. In the Inbox, tap Compose.

3. Enter the recipient(s), subject, and message, and then tap Send.

Manage Gmail Messages:

From the Gmail Inbox, you can manage your messages:

• Use Labels: Touch and hold a conversation, tap More options > Move to, and select a label.

• Archive Threads: Touch and hold a conversation, then tap Archive.

• Mute Threads: Touch and hold a conversation, then tap More options > Mute.

• Delete Threads: Touch and hold a conversation, then tap Delete.

• Report Spam: Touch and hold a conversation, then tap More options > Report spam.

Switching Between Gmail Accounts:

1. In the Gmail app, tap Menu.

2. Tap the icon for the account you want to view from the list at the top of the menu.

You can set up personal (POP3/IMAP) and corporate (Exchange ActiveSync) email accounts on your phone.

Set Up an Email Account:

1. From home, tap Apps > Email.

2. If no account is set up, a popup will appear. Enter your email address and password and follow the prompts.

Add Another Email Account:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email.

2. Enter the Email address and Password for the account and tap Sign in.

3. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

Create and Send an Email Message:

1. From home, tap Apps > Email.

2. Tap Compose.

3. Enter the recipient(s), subject, and message. To add an attachment, tap Attach.

4. Tap Send.

Your phone’s camera can take high-resolution pictures and record high-quality videos.

Take a Picture:

1. From home, tap Apps > Camera.

2. Aim the camera at your subject and then tap the Capture picture icon.

Record a Video:

1. From home, tap Apps > Camera.

2. Aim the camera at your subject and then tap the Record icon.

3. Video recording begins. You can tap Pause to pause recording and Resume to resume. Tap Capture to take a picture while recording.

4. Tap Stop to stop recording.

Shooting Modes:

On the Camera screen, tap MODE to choose a shooting mode. Options may include Auto, Pro, Selective focus, Panorama, Slow motion, Fast motion, Video collage, Live broadcast, and more.

You can view and manage your media files using the Gallery application.

View Pictures and Videos:

1. From home, tap Apps > Gallery.

2. Tap an album (such as Camera) to view its contents.

3. Tap an image to view the picture or video. The picture opens or the video begins playing.

Edit Pictures:

1. In the Gallery, tap the picture you want to edit.

2. Tap Auto adjust to automatically enhance the picture’s color, brightness, and saturation.

3. To rotate a picture, tap More > Rotate left or Rotate right.

4. To crop a picture, tap Edit > Adjustment. A crop box appears. Drag the edges to resize the box and drag the box to position it. Tap Apply to save.

5. For more advanced edits, tap Edit to access the Photo Editor, which includes tools for adjustment, tone, effects, and more.

You can share pictures and videos using various methods like email, multimedia messages, Bluetooth, and social media apps.

1. From home, tap Apps > Gallery.

2. Tap an album to open it.

3. Tap the picture or video you want to share. To select multiple items, touch and hold an image to enable multiple select mode, then tap all the items you want to include.

4. Tap Share.

5. From the Share menu, select a sharing method (e.g., Email, Messages, Bluetooth, YouTube, etc.).

6. Follow the prompts for the selected method to complete and send the share.

You can use the supplied USB cable to connect your phone directly to your computer to transfer music, pictures, and other files.

1. Connect your phone to your computer using the supplied USB/charging cable.

2. Pull down the status bar on your phone to display the notification panel. You will see a notification like “Connected as a media device”.

3. The files on your phone can now be accessed using your computer. For most transfers, you will want to use “Connected as a media device”.

4. On your computer, navigate to the detected device (e.g., through My Computer) and open it.

5. Select a folder (for example, Music for songs and albums) and copy files to or from it.

6. When you are done, disconnect your phone from your computer.

You can connect to wireless internet access points or “hotspots” using your phone’s Wi-Fi feature.

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Wi-Fi.

3. Tap the switch to turn Wi-Fi on. You will see the names and security settings of in-range Wi-Fi networks.

4. Tap a Wi-Fi network to connect.

5. Enter the password (if it is not an open network), and then tap Connect.

Your phone is now connected to the Wi-Fi network, and you will see the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar.

Hotspot allows you to share your phone’s mobile data service with other Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Set Up Hotspot:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Hotspot and Tethering > Hotspot.

3. Tap the switch to turn Hotspot on.

Connect to Hotspot:

1. On the other device, enable Wi-Fi and scan for available networks.

2. Select your phone’s hotspot from the network list.

3. Enter the passkey (password) provided on your phone’s Hotspot page.

4. The device will connect to your phone’s Hotspot.

Note: Use of the Hotspot feature may require an additional subscription.

You can connect wirelessly to Bluetooth devices like headsets, car kits, and computers.

Enable the Bluetooth Feature:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Bluetooth.

3. Tap the switch to turn Bluetooth on.

Pair Bluetooth Devices:

1. With Bluetooth enabled, your phone will scan for nearby devices.

2. Nearby devices will appear in the “Available devices” list.

3. Tap a device from the list and follow the prompts to pair with it. You may be required to enter or accept a passkey.

Connect to a Paired Bluetooth Device:

Once a device is paired, it will appear in the “Paired devices” list. Tap a device from this list to connect to it.

A factory data reset erases ALL data from your device, including Google or other account settings, system and application data, downloaded applications, music, photos, and other files. This action cannot be undone.

Important: Before resetting, back up any information you want to keep. If Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is turned on, you must enter the username and password for a registered Google Account to regain access to the device after the reset.

To reset your device:

1. From home, tap Apps > Settings.

2. Tap Backup and Reset.

3. Tap Factory data reset.

4. Tap Reset device and follow the prompts to perform the reset.

5. When the device restarts, follow the prompts to set up your device again.

You can monitor battery usage and enable power saving modes to extend battery life.

To access battery settings, go to Apps > Settings > Battery. Here you can find the following options:

• Battery usage: View battery usage since the last full charge.

• Power saving mode: Save battery power by limiting device performance, vibration feedback, and location services. Tap to turn on and configure.

• Ultra power saving mode: Save battery power by applying a simplified grayscale theme to your Home screen and limiting the number of usable apps. Tap to turn on.

• Percentage on status bar: Display the battery charge percentage on the Status bar.

• Fast cable charging: Enable to charge the battery more quickly.

Problem: Phone freezes/operation is unstable.

Solution: Turn the phone on again. Data that was being edited is erased after your phone is powered on again.

Problem: Operation is unstable after a new application was installed.

Solution: The newly installed application may be the cause. Uninstall the application in Safe mode. To turn the phone on in Safe mode:

• Press and hold the Power/Lock key > touch and hold Power off, read the disclaimer for safe mode, and then tap OK.

• After turning the phone on in Safe mode, “Safe Mode” appears at the lower left.
