To cancel the demonstration display on your SONY XAV-AX3200, follow these steps:

1. Press the HOME button, then touch [Settings].

2. Touch [General], then touch [Demo] to set it to [OFF].

3. To exit the setup menu, touch the back button twice.

The main unit of the SONY XAV-AX3200 has the following controls:

1. Display/touch screen: The main interface for the unit.

2. HOME: Displays the HOME screen.

ATT (attenuate): Press and hold for 1 second to attenuate the sound. To cancel, press and hold again, or press VOL +.

3. VOL (volume) +/-: Adjusts the volume. The VOL + button has a tactile dot for easy identification.

4. Receptor for the remote commander: Receives signals from the remote control.

5. Previous/Next: Functions differently depending on the source:

– [Radio]: Select a preset station.

– [SXM] (SiriusXM): Select a preset channel.

– [USB]/[Bluetooth]: Move to the previous/next file.

Press and hold to:

– [Radio]: Tune into a station automatically (SEEK+/SEEK-).

– [USB]/[Bluetooth]: Fast-reverse/fast-forward.

6. OPTION: Displays the OPTION screen.

VOICE: Press and hold to activate the voice command function for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™.

The RM-X170 remote commander controls the audio functions of your SONY XAV-AX3200. The button functions are as follows:

7. OFF: Turns the source off.

8. MONITOR OFF: Turns off the monitor. To turn it back on, press the button again.

9. EQ (equalizer): Selects an equalizer curve.

10. Number buttons (0 to 9): Used for direct input.

11. CLEAR: Clears input.

12. ATT (attenuate): Attenuates the sound. Press again to cancel the attenuation.

13. ►II (play/pause): Plays or pauses the current media.

14. Previous/Next / Fast-reverse/fast-forward:

– Tap to select a preset station (Radio), a preset channel (SiriusXM), or move to the previous/next file (USB/Bluetooth).

– Press and hold to automatically tune to a station (Radio) or fast-reverse/fast-forward (USB/Bluetooth).

15. Folder/Channel navigation arrows:

– [Radio]: Select a preset station or tune automatically.

– [SXM] (SiriusXM): Select a preset channel or move to the previous/next channel.

– [USB]: Select a folder or move to the previous/next file.

ENTER: Enters the selected item.

16. SRC (source): Changes the source. Each time you press this button, a selectable source is displayed in a popup on the current display.

17. MODE: Selects the radio band.

18. VOL (volume) +/-: Adjusts the volume.

Before first use, remember to remove the insulation film from the battery compartment.

Status Indications:

ATT: Lights up when the sound is attenuated.

SXM.: Indicates the signal strength of the connected SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner.

Bluetooth icon: Lights up when the Bluetooth signal is on. It flashes when the connection is in progress.

A2DP icon: Lights up when an audio device is playable via Bluetooth audio streaming.

HFP icon: Lights up when handsfree calling is available via Bluetooth.

Phone signal icon: Indicates the signal strength of the connected mobile phone.

Battery icon: Indicates the remaining battery status of the connected mobile phone.

Screen Layouts:

Playback screen:

– … (source option): Opens the source option menu. Available items differ depending on the source.

– Application specific area: Displays playback controls, indications, or the unit’s status.

HOME screen:

– Clock: Displays the time.

– Instruction for smartphone connection: Displays instructions for connecting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or WebLink™.

– Return to playback screen: Switches from the HOME screen back to the playback screen.

– Sources and Settings select keys: Changes the source or makes various settings. Flick to select different icons.

OPTION screen:

– Sound select keys: Changes the sound.

– Standby: Turns the unit to standby mode (USB charging is still available). Press any button to resume.

– Monitor off: Turns off the monitor. Touch any part of the display to turn it back on.

– EXTRA BASS: Changes the EXTRA BASS setting.

– EQ10/Subwoofer: Changes the EQ10/Subwoofer setting.

When connecting a Bluetooth device for the first time, you must perform a mutual registration called “pairing”.

1. On the SONY XAV-AX3200, press HOME, then touch [Settings] → [Bluetooth] → [Bluetooth Connection] → [ON] → [Pairing]. The Bluetooth icon will flash while the unit is in pairing standby mode.

2. On your Bluetooth device, perform the pairing procedure so it detects the SONY XAV-AX3200.

3. Select your model name (XAV-AX3200) on the display of your Bluetooth device. When pairing is complete, the Bluetooth icon will stay lit.

Note: If a passkey is required on the Bluetooth device, input [0000].

To update the firmware on your SONY XAV-AX3200, visit the Sony support site and follow the online instructions provided. It is important that you do not remove the USB device during the update process.

When the battery becomes weak, the range of the remote commander becomes shorter. To replace it:

1. Release the tab to slide out the battery tray from the remote commander.

2. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2025 lithium battery with the + side facing up.

CAUTION: There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type.

Notes on the LCD Panel:

– Do not get the LCD panel wet or expose it to liquids, as this may cause a malfunction.

– Do not press down hard on the LCD panel, as this can distort the picture or cause damage.

– Clean the LCD panel with a dry soft cloth. Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or antistatic spray.

– If your car was parked in a cold or hot place, the picture may not be clear initially. It will become clear after the temperature in your car becomes normal.

– Some stationary blue, red, or green dots (called “bright spots”) may appear on the monitor. This is normal for LCD technology and will not interfere with your viewing.

Notes on the Touch Screen:

– This unit uses a resistive touch screen. Touch the screen directly with your fingertip.

– Multi-touch operation is not supported.

– Do not touch the screen with sharp objects like a needle, pen, or fingernail. Operation with a stylus is not supported.

– Do not let any objects other than your fingertip contact the touch screen, as the unit may not respond correctly.

– Keep other electrical devices away from the touch screen as they may cause it to malfunction.

The SONY XAV-AX3200 is compatible with the following iPhone models:

iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s.

To use an A/V device, installation of a mini-jack A/V cable (not supplied) is required.

1. Connect the installed mini-jack A/V cable to the Video Output terminal of the A/V device. Do not connect it to the Video Input terminal.

2. Press HOME on the SONY XAV-AX3200, then touch [A/V IN].

CAUTION: Be sure to use a mini-jack A/V cable (not supplied) for wiring. Using other cables with different wiring positions might result in disturbed images and sound.

When using the steering wheel remote control connection cable (XAV-AX3200 only):

1. To enable the steering wheel remote control, select [General] → [Steering Control] → [Custom] → and follow the prompts to make the registration. When the registration is complete, the steering wheel remote control becomes available.

When using an adaptor for the steering wheel remote control:

Depending on the type of car, you can use an adaptor for the steering wheel remote control (not supplied).

1. Set [Steering Control] in [General] to [Preset]. The adaptor for the steering wheel remote control is enabled.

When replacing the fuse, be sure to use one that matches the amperage rating stated on the original fuse (10 A).

If the fuse blows, check the power connection and then replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again after replacement, there may be an internal malfunction. In such a case, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
