How do I use the microphone holder and stand adaptor (SAD-34/SAD-35) with the SONY ECM-778?

The microphone holder is used when attaching your SONY ECM-778 to a microphone stand (sold separately). If the microphone holder cannot be attached directly to the microphone stand, attach the stand adaptor (SAD-34/SAD-35) to the microphone holder.

When should I use the different wind screens with the SONY ECM-778?

If wind noise or breath noise is noticeable with your SONY ECM-778, attach the wind screen.

If strong wind noise persists even with the foam wind screen, use the fur wind screen instead.

How do I use the microphone spacer with the SONY ECM-778?

The microphone spacer is used when attaching the SONY ECM-778 to a camcorder microphone holder (sold separately) or a similar device. If you still notice vibrations after attaching the microphone spacer (molded type) to the unit, use the microphone spacer (sheet type) instead. To do this, remove the two release sheets and wrap it directly around the unit.

What is the function of the LOW CUT switch on the SONY ECM-778?

Slide the LOW CUT switch on your SONY ECM-778 to “ON” to cut low-frequency sounds and reduce noise.

How do I power the SONY ECM-778 microphone?

The SONY ECM-778 is for use with an external power supply only. Connect the microphone output of the unit to the microphone input of an external power source (such as an AC power supply, an audio mixer, or a camcorder). For the connection, use the microphone cable.

Note: Before connecting this unit to an external device, ensure that the device has a microphone input compatible with 44 V to 52 V. Unbalanced cables cannot be used with this unit. Always use a balanced cable.
