The SONY BRAVIA KD-50X80K comes with the following manuals:

Sony strongly recommends taking measures to prevent the TV from toppling over. Follow these recommended measures:

Secure the Stand for the TV: Ensure the stand can support the weight. Use two angle braces (not supplied). Attach one side of the angle brace to the wall stud and the other to the Stand.

Secure the TV to the Stand: Use optional hardware (not supplied): M6 machine screws (screwed into the TV’s rear cover) and a screw or similar to attach to the Stand.

Anchor the TV to the wall: Use bolts, a wall anchor, and a chain (or rope). Use M6 eye bolts (not supplied) attached to the VESA holes on the rear of the TV. The length of the M6 machine screw differs depending on the rope or chain diameter (10 mm – 12 mm).

General Safety:

1. Secure the TV to a wall and/or Stand.

2. Do not allow children to play or climb on furniture and TV sets.

3. Avoid placing or hanging items on the TV.

4. Never install the TV on slippery, unstable, or uneven surfaces.

5. Install the TV where it cannot be pulled, pushed, or knocked over.

6. Install the TV so that the Table-Top Stand does not protrude out from the Stand.

7. Route all AC power cords and connecting cables so that they are not accessible to curious children.

The remote control functions are as follows:

Power: Turn the TV on or off.

TV: Display TV channel list or switch to input.

Quick Settings (Gear icon): Display Quick Settings.

Input (Arrow into box icon): Display and select the input source.

123 (Control menu): Display the Control menu.

Navigation Arrows / Enter: On screen menu navigation and selection.

Back: Go back to the previous screen.

Home: Go to the Home menu.

Google Assistant / Microphone: Use Google Assistant (requires Internet).

Volume (+ / -): Adjust volume.

Mute: Mute sound. Press and hold for accessibility shortcut.

Channel (CH + / -): Select the channel.

Play / Pause: Control media playback.

Guide: Display the digital program guide of TV or Cable/Satellite box (setup required).

App buttons: Launch specific applications directly.

To enable the built-in MIC, turn on the BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH located on the TV unit. Press the Google Assistant button on the remote control and follow the on-screen instructions. Note that power consumption will increase when the built-in MIC is enabled as it is always listening.

Your SONY BRAVIA KD-50X80K can be mounted to a wall using a suitable Wall-Mount Bracket (not supplied). Follow these steps:

1. Remove the screws from the rear of the TV.

2. Attach the Wall-Mount Attachment (supplied with the TV) to the rear of the TV to make it parallel with the wall.

3. Attach the Wall-Mount Bracket (not supplied) using the screws (not supplied).

Note: The wall-mount hole pattern for the SONY BRAVIA KD-50X80K is 200 x 200 mm. The required screw size is M6 (10 mm – 12 mm length depending on bracket thickness).

To detach the Table-Top Stand:

1. Remove one side of the Table-Top Stand at a time. Firmly hold the Table-Top Stand securely with both hands while other people lift up the TV.

2. Repeat the previous step and remove the other side of the Table-Top Stand.

Note: Three or more people are required to detach the Table-Top Stand. Do not use excessive force to avoid damage or injury. Do not remove the stand for any reason other than to install corresponding accessories.

If the TV does not respond, has a black screen, no sound, or a frozen picture, try the following:

1. Restart the TV: Press the power button on the remote control for about five seconds. The TV will restart. If it does not recover, unplug the AC power cord, press the power button on the TV and release it. Wait for two minutes, and plug in the AC power cord. Alternatively, press the power button on the TV for about 40 seconds until the TV turns off.

2. Check the Help menu: Press Input on the remote and select Help.

3. Update Software: Connect the TV to the Internet and perform a software update.

4. Factory Data Reset: Perform a factory data reset through the settings.

To force a factory data reset:

1. Unplug the AC power cord.

2. Press and hold the Power button on the TV.

3. While holding the button, plug in the AC power cord.

Warning: This reset will clear all customized settings, including the parental lock setting.

If you have forgotten the parental lock password, enter 4357 for the PIN and then enter the new PIN.

If the remote control does not function:

1. Replace the batteries.

2. Point the remote control directly at the IR sensor located on the TV.

3. Make sure no objects are blocking the path between the remote control and the IR sensor.

4. Fluorescent lamps can interfere with the remote control; try turning off fluorescent lamps.

5. Reinsert the batteries and ensure they are correctly inserted.
