To prevent the TV from toppling, follow these steps:

1. Install the TV so that the TV’s Table-Top Stand does not protrude out from the TV stand (not supplied). If it protrudes, it may cause the TV set to topple over, fall down, and cause personal injury or damage.
2. Secure the TV using a strong cord (not supplied) and a screw (not supplied).
3. Use an M6 screw (not supplied) to attach to the TV’s rear cover. The length of the screw into the TV rear cover should be between 8 mm and 12 mm.
4. Use a screw (not supplied) to secure the cord to the stand or wall.
5. Ensure the cord is tensioned to 1.5 N·m {15 kgf·cm}.

The TV has control buttons located on the back or side, depending on the specific model within the series:

Power Button:

• When the TV is off, press the Power button to power it on.
• When the TV is on, press and hold the Power button to power it off.
• Press the Power button repeatedly to change the function, then press the (+) or (-) button to adjust the volume, select the channel, or select the input source.

Sensors and LED:

• Remote Control sensor / Light sensor / Illumination LED: Located on the front bezel. The illumination LED lights up or blinks according to the status of the TV. Do not place anything near the sensor.

The remote control features the following buttons and functions:

• Input select/Text hold: In TV mode, display and select the input source. In Text mode, hold the current page.
• TV standby (Power): Turn on or turn off the TV (standby mode).
• DIGITAL/ANALOG: Switch between digital and analogue input.
• TV/RADIO: Switch between TV or RADIO broadcasts.
• EXIT: Return to the previous screen or exit from the menu. When an Interactive Application service is available, press to exit from the service.

• APPS: Access various services and applications.
• BACK: Return to the previous screen.
• HOME: Display the TV Home Menu.
• Volume (+/-): Adjust the volume.
• Jump: Jump back and forth between two channels or inputs.
• Mute: Mute the sound. Press again to restore the sound.
• PROG (+/-): Select the channel. In Text mode, select the next or previous page.
• AUDIO: Select the sound of multilingual source or dual sound for the programme currently being viewed.
• Media Controls (Play, Pause, Stop, etc.): Operate media contents on the TV and connected BRAVIA Sync-compatible device.
• Subtitle setting: Turn subtitles on or off.
• HELP: Display the Help menu. Help Guide can be accessed from here.
• REC: Record the currently viewed programme on the USB HDD.
• TITLE LIST: Display the Title list.
• Microphone: Use voice search (requires internet connection).
• EXT.BOX MENU: Display the connected External Box (cable/satellite box) menu.

Audio Output:

• Supports 3-pole stereo mini jack only.
• To listen to the TV’s sound through connected equipment, press HOME, select [Settings] > [Sound] > [Headphone/Audio out], and then select the desired item.

HDMI Connections:

• HDMI IN 1/2/3/4: Can transfer digital video and audio on a single cable.
• HDMI IN 2/3: To enjoy high quality 4K 50p/60p contents, connect a Premium High Speed HDMI cable and set the [HDMI signal format] to [Enhanced format].
• HDMI IN 3 ARC (Audio Return Channel): Connect your audio system to HDMI IN 3 to route TV audio to your audio system. If your audio system does not support HDMI ARC, an additional connection with DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) is necessary.

Other Connections:

• CAM (Conditional Access Module): Provides access to pay TV services. Do not insert the smart card directly into the TV CAM slot; it must be fitted into the Conditional Access Module provided by your authorized dealer.
• USB: Connect USB devices. USB 3 (blue port) allows HDD recording. Note that connecting a large USB device to port 1 may interfere with other connected devices beside it.
• IR BLASTER: Use your Sony remote control to control your External Box. Connect the IR Blaster Cable to the IR Blaster port on your TV.

For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that you use Sony accessories, specifically the Wall-Mount Bracket SU-WL450.

• Only qualified service personnel should carry out wall-mount installations.
• Be sure to use the screws supplied with the Wall-Mount Bracket when attaching it to the TV set. The supplied screws are designed to be 8 mm – 12 mm in length when measured from the attaching surface of the Wall-Mount Bracket.
• The diameter and length of the screws differ depending on the Wall-Mount Bracket model. Use of other screws may result in internal damage to the TV set or cause it to fall.
• Prepare the TV for Wall-Mount installation before it is installed on the wall by following the Setup Guide.
• If detaching the Table-Top Stand, place the TV with its screen facing down on a level and stable surface covered with a thick and soft cloth (for specific models) to prevent damaging the LCD display.

Note: Three or more people are required to detach the Table-Top Stand.

1. Remove one side of the Table-Top Stand at a time. Firmly hold the Table-Top Stand securely with both hands while other people lift up the TV.
2. Repeat the previous step and remove the other side of the Table-Top Stand.

Caution: Do not use excessive force while detaching the stand as it may cause the TV set to fall. Take care when handling the stand to prevent damage to the TV or personal injury.

For issues like black screen, no sound, frozen picture, TV not responding, or lost network:

1. Restart the TV: Press the power button on the remote control until a message appears. The TV will restart. If it does not recover, try unplugging the mains lead. Then press the power button on the TV and wait for two minutes, and plug in the mains lead.
2. Check the Help Menu: Press HELP on the remote control.
3. Software Update: Connect your TV to the Internet and perform a software update. Select [Update Now] when prompted. Do not unplug the mains lead during the update (up to 15 minutes).
4. Visit Support Website: Refer to the Sony support website provided in the manual.

Count how many times it flashes (interval time is three seconds). Reboot the TV by disconnecting the mains lead until the illumination LED stops flashing in red, then turn on the TV. If the problem persists, disconnect the mains lead and contact your dealer or Sony service centre with the number of times the illumination LED flashes.

Enter 9999 for the PIN code and select [Change PIN code].
