What are the best practices for placing my SONOS MOVE?
To get the best sound from your SONOS MOVE, follow these placement guidelines:
• The speaker is designed to provide powerful sound anywhere. Its auto Trueplay tuning feature periodically balances the sound for its location. For this to work, the microphone must be on. If you usually keep it off, turn it on for a few minutes whenever you move the speaker to a new location.
• SONOS MOVE sounds great even when placed next to a wall or on a shelf. For best performance, leave at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space around the back of the speaker.
• Do not use or store your SONOS MOVE upside down.
How durable is the SONOS MOVE?
The SONOS MOVE is designed to be ultra durable. It features a tough outer shell and an IP56 rating, which means it is built to withstand falls, bumps, moisture, dust, UV rays, and extreme temperatures. While it can handle moisture, it should not be left out in a soaking rain storm. The included charging base is for indoor use only.
What is Automatic Trueplay on the SONOS MOVE?
Automatic Trueplay tuning is a feature that optimizes the sound of your SONOS MOVE for wherever you are and whatever you’re listening to. The speaker’s microphone is used to detect the environment, allowing auto Trueplay to make periodic tuning adjustments to deliver the best sound. If you don’t want the microphone on all the time, be sure to turn it on whenever you move the speaker. Your SONOS MOVE starts retuning when you pick it up and continues to adjust the sound for a few minutes after you place it in a new location. Note that auto Trueplay is disabled while you’re using Bluetooth if Google Assistant is set up as your voice assistant.
How do I control the microphone on my SONOS MOVE?
The microphone on the SONOS MOVE is used for voice control and for auto Trueplay tuning. Touch the microphone icon on the speaker to turn it on or off.
When the microphone light is on:
• If you have a voice assistant, voice control is on and your voice assistant is ready to respond.
• Auto Trueplay tuning is enabled so the SONOS MOVE can automatically adjust its sound for your surroundings.
When the microphone light is off:
• If you have a voice assistant, voice control is off.
• Auto Trueplay tuning is disabled.
