The intended use of the SCHEPPACH DWS90X power tool is the sanding of large areas of drywalls with suitable sanding sheets as a preparation before painting or wallpapering. This power tool is not suited for the preparation of small areas, corners, and edges, nor for the removal of wallpaper, wet grinding, or the grinding of ceilings without the proper split pin attachment.

To assemble the SCHEPPACH DWS90X, fold the front sections together and tighten the locking screw. To mount the suction pipe extension, insert the extension into the connection for the suction tube extension and lock it into place. You can adjust the length of the tool with this extension to work more comfortably.

Sandpaper Selection: The grain of the sandpaper is indicated on the back. Smaller numbers indicate coarser grain. Use coarse grain for rough sanding and fine grain for finishing. It is recommended to use sandpaper with aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, or other synthetic abrasives.

Attachment and Replacement: Secure the sandpaper to the grinding plate using the Velcro backing. Align it evenly and press it on. To replace, simply pull the used sandpaper off the grinding plate and attach a new sheet.

The SCHEPPACH DWS90X generates a large amount of dust during operation. To manage this, insert the hose adapter into the dust extraction connection and lock it. Connect the suction hose to an extraction unit or a vacuum cleaner. Always use a dust separator and ensure the vacuum cleaner is suitable for use with power tools. The tool features a brush edge that helps contain dust and prevents crescent-shaped indentations on the work surface.

Switching On: Press the ON/OFF switch. For continuous operation, secure the ON/OFF switch with the locking knob.

Switching Off: Briefly press the ON/OFF switch.

Setting the Speed: Use the speed setting buttons before starting work. Press the (+) button to increase speed and the (-) button to reduce speed. Use low speeds for coarse grinding and higher speeds for fine work.

Step 1: Attach a suitable sanding sheet and select the appropriate speed.

Step 2: Hold the SCHEPPACH DWS90X securely by the gripping surfaces and switch it on.

Step 3: Wait until the tool reaches full working speed.

Step 4: Guide the grinding plate as parallel as possible to the wall and place it with the brush edge first onto the surface.

Step 5: Apply pressure on the grinding head to bring the sandpaper into contact with the work surface.

Step 6: Move the tool over the surface with even movements. Do not hold it in one place for too long to avoid uneven results.

Step 7: Lift the grinding plate from the surface before switching off the tool.

Step 8: Wait until the attachment has come to a complete standstill before putting the tool down.

When working on a ceiling area with the SCHEPPACH DWS90X, you must fix the grinding head in place using the split pin provided in the scope of delivery.

Cleaning: Keep protective devices, ventilation openings, and the motor housing free of dust. Wipe with a clean cloth or blow off with low-pressure compressed air (max. 3 bar). Clean the tool immediately after each use. Do not use cleaning products or solvents that could attack plastic parts.

Maintenance: Check the tool and accessories for wear and damage before and after each use. If the grinding plate or brush edge are damaged or badly worn, have them replaced by a qualified specialist. If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person.
