Assembly and Location:

When assembling the vacuum, be careful not to catch your fingers or hands in the movement fold of the handle.

Operational Safety:

If there is a gas leak or combustible spray used nearby, do not touch the power outlet and open the window for ventilation to avoid explosion or fire.

If the product makes a strange sound, emits a smell, or produces smoke, turn it off immediately and contact a Samsung service center.

Keep body parts like hair and hands away from moving or spinning parts.

When cleaning walls or ceilings, use both hands to prevent wrist damage or dropping the vacuum.

Do not use the vacuum cleaner on easily scratched objects like monitors or stainless steel appliances.

Check the brush wheels for foreign matter before use to prevent floor scratches.

Do not touch the spin brush inside a brush when it is working.

Do not use the vacuum in direct sunlight or high heat.

If an accessory motor stops due to a blockage, turn the vacuum off, remove the foreign matter, and turn it back on.

Static electricity may occur depending on humidity, temperature, or floor material. If it happens repeatedly, contact a Samsung service center.

Do not use the brush or tools in one spot for a long time to avoid damaging the floor.

Do not use Pet Tool + in a small area for a long time or let it keep spinning in one place, as damage may occur on sensitive materials.

Do not use the Combination Tool on hard materials like leather or wood while the bristles are not extended.

Please follow these precautions during maintenance:

Storage:

After use, lay the vacuum cleaner down or place it on the Clean Station to store. The product may fall and cause injury or damage. Do not store the vacuum cleaner inside a car.

Storing the product in sunlight for long hours may cause parts to deform or discolor. Store the product in the shade.

Cleaning:

Before removing foreign matter from inside the product, turn off the product first.

When cleaning the exterior, turn off the product first and wipe with a dry towel. Do not spray water directly or use volatile materials like benzene, thinner, or alcohol.

When cleaning washable parts, do not use alkaline detergent, acid, industrial detergent, air freshener, acetic acid, etc., as this can cause plastic breakage, deformation, or discoloration.

After cleaning the dustbin, Metal Mesh Grille Filter, or Washable Micro Filter with water, dry them completely in the shade. Applying heat can cause deformation.

For safe operation of the Clean Station, please adhere to the following:

Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not touch the power plug with wet hands, as it may cause electric shock or fire.

Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequately rated current.

If there is dust or water on the power plug pin, wipe it carefully.

Do not use a damaged power plug, power cord, or loose power outlet.

Unplug the Clean Station from the outlet before servicing.

Do not expose the Clean Station to high temperatures or moisture.

Do not plug the Clean Station into a power source with the incorrect voltage or into a multi-plug outlet or power strip.

If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by a Samsung authorized service center.

Ensure charging terminals of the vacuum and Clean Station do not contact conductors like bracelets, watches, or metal rods.

The Clean Station is designed only for the Samsung Jet cordless vacuum cleaner. Do not use it for other appliances.

Do not allow children to cling to or push the Clean Station.

Do not charge the product near a window, heater, toilet, or bathroom.

Do not attempt to open the Clean Station. Repairs should only be carried out by a qualified Samsung service center.

Do not bend the power cord with excessive force or place heavy objects on it.

Before plugging or unplugging the Clean Station, turn off the vacuum cleaner and ensure the plug pins do not contact your hands.

Proper battery care ensures safety and longevity. Follow these guidelines:

Do not mutilate or incinerate batteries as they will explode at high temperatures.

Do not drop or strike the battery or subject it to a sudden shock.

Do not disassemble the battery or create a short circuit across the terminals.

Use the battery only for this product. Do not use it for other electronic appliances.

When purchasing a new battery, check for the correct model name (VCA-SBTC97, VCA-SBTC97S, VCA-SBTD95) and the genuine SAMSUNG logo.

If liquid from the battery gets on your skin, wash the area quickly with water. If it gets in your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention.

When attaching the battery, insert it until you hear a click to ensure it is firmly attached.

If not using the vacuum for a long period, unplug the Clean Station and detach the battery. The battery will slowly discharge when not in use.

To protect the motor and battery, the product may not operate when the temperature is lower than 5 °C or higher than 45 °C.

Dispose of dead batteries in compliance with local regulations. Do not dispose of them with other household waste.

WARNING: To remove the battery, contact an authorized service center. You must not attempt to remove the battery on your own. For your own safety, do not attempt to remove the battery on your own or dispose of it in fire. Do not disassemble, crush, or puncture the battery.

Follow these steps to install the Clean Station:

1. Run the power cord of the Clean Station along the round groove at the bottom.

2. Make sure the power cord is correctly placed so that the Clean Station stands without tilting.

3. Before plugging in the Clean Station, arrange the power cord neatly.

4. When plugging in the Clean Station, the START/STOP button turns blue for 5 seconds and then goes off, indicating it’s ready.

The vacuum cleaner’s dustbin will be emptied automatically when you place the vacuum cleaner on the Clean Station. The Auto Empty function is enabled by default.

You can press the START/STOP button on the Clean Station to manually start or stop the emptying process at any time.

If the vacuum is placed back on the Clean Station within one minute of being removed, the Auto Empty function will not operate, even if enabled.

NOTE:

If clumps of dust, hair, etc., prevent the dustbin from emptying, repeatedly press the START/STOP button until the dustbin is empty. If the issue persists, clean the dustbin manually.

If the auto dustbin lid closer is stained, wipe it with a wet tissue.

Properly place the vacuum on the Clean Station. If not, it may not charge and the Auto Empty function may not work. If the dustbin cannot be opened, the START/STOP button turns red.

When the Auto Empty function is enabled, the Auto Empty LED indicator turns white. You can press the Auto Empty button to enable or disable this function.

After emptying, a self-diagnosis process starts for optimal performance. Wait for it to complete before using the vacuum again.

The initial default suction mode is ‘AI’. The self-diagnosis function starts if you have used the ‘AI’ mode for more than 5 minutes before docking.

Setting and Canceling Network Connection:

Refer to the ‘SmartThings app’ section for network connection settings. To cancel the network connection after entering AP mode, press and hold the Auto Empty button for 5 seconds.

Resetting the Network Connection:

If the network connection fails, press and hold the Auto Empty button for 5 seconds to enter AP mode. Then, press and hold the Auto Empty button for at least 10 seconds to reset the network connection settings. The AP mode will be canceled.

Allowing or Blocking the Network Connection:

To allow or block Wi-Fi, press and hold the Auto Empty button for at least 15 seconds until the Auto Empty LED and Wi-Fi LED blink simultaneously.

Factory Reset:

It is recommended to perform a factory reset to protect your privacy if you sell the product. Press and hold the Auto Empty button for 5 seconds to enter AP mode. Then, press and hold the Auto Empty button for at least 15 seconds. The AP mode will be canceled and the network settings will be reset.

When the battery level indicator turns red or the ‘Low battery’ message appears on the display, you need to charge the battery. The vacuum cleaner cannot be used while charging.

1. Place the vacuum cleaner on the Clean Station.

2. Make sure the back of the battery is correctly placed onto the vacuum charging part.

3. Check that the battery level indicator is displayed while charging.

4. When charging starts, the battery level indicator turns on (red, orange, or yellow depending on charging progress), rises gradually, and changes to green when the charging is complete.

Inserting the battery:

Push the battery into the handle of the vacuum cleaner until you hear it click into place.

Ejecting the battery:

Press the battery release button at the rear of the handle to eject the battery.

CAUTION:

Before ejecting the battery, the vacuum cleaner must be turned off. Forcibly ejecting the battery while the vacuum is operating may cause a malfunction.

Be careful not to drop the battery, as you may injure yourself or damage the battery.

To charge the additional battery, use the provided battery cradle:

1. Firmly push the battery onto the battery cradle.

2. The battery level indicator on the battery will turn on and change color from red, to orange, and then to yellow as it charges.

3. The battery level indicator will turn green when the battery is fully charged.

To get the best performance and lifespan from your batteries:

To use the batteries longer, use the vacuum cleaner with a lower suction power setting.

It is recommended to alternate the use of the main battery with an additional battery.

If an additional battery is fully charged and will not be used for an extended period, remove it from the charger and store it at room temperature.

The vacuum cleaner has a battery protection mode. If it detects a danger to battery use, it may suddenly stop operating.

If the battery level indicator blinks red 30 times, you must wait for 30 seconds before you can use the vacuum cleaner again.

If the battery level indicator blinks red 5 times, the battery is no longer usable and must be replaced with a new one.

01 Display: Shows the current mode (‘MIN, AI, MID, MAX, JET, or WET’) or alert messages.

02 Power Button: Press to turn the vacuum cleaner on or off. When turned on, it starts in ‘MID’ mode, ‘WET’ mode if the Spray Spinning Sweeper is attached, or ‘AI’ mode if the Active Dual Brush or Slim LED Brush+ is attached.

03 Suction power control (+ / -):

Press +/- to change the suction power mode (‘MIN, AI, MID, MAX, or JET’).

In ‘AI’ mode, the vacuum automatically adjusts suction power and brush rotation speed based on the floor type. This mode is only available with the Active Dual Brush or Slim LED Brush+.

In ‘WET’ mode, press the + button to spray water once, or press and hold for up to 2 seconds to spray continuously. Only the + button works in this mode.

While the vacuum is on the Clean Station, press and hold the + button for 5 seconds to enable or disable the Energy Saving mode.

The brush may cling to the floor or not turn properly on certain materials like carpets or mats. If this occurs, change the suction power mode to ‘MIN or MID’.

Selecting the language:

1. Press and hold the + button for 3 seconds to enter or exit the language setting.

2. Press the + or – button to select a language.

The vacuum cleaner displays messages to help you inspect or clean certain parts. Here is a guide to what they mean and what to do.

Close the dustbin	Check the dustbin and close it if it is open.

Self-diagnosis Messages:

Detaching accessories:

To detach any accessory, press the release button on the back of it. Before detaching, it is recommended to operate the vacuum in ‘MAX’ mode for 10 seconds to clear any remaining foreign matter inside the accessory.

Combination Tool:

Use to remove dust from curtains, furniture, sofas, etc.

Extension Crevice Tool:

Use to remove dust in grooves of window frames, narrow gaps, corners, etc.

Flexible Tool:

Use to clean hard-to-reach places such as the upper or rear parts of furniture or ceilings. You can connect the Combination Tool or the Extension Crevice Tool to the Flexible Tool.

Spray Spinning Sweeper:

Use to clean a wooden or linoleum floor with a wet pad. This tool does not have dust suction.

Using the reusable wet pad: When attaching the wet pad, make sure the pad is in the center of the spin disk.

Using the disposable wet pad: Attach the disposable pad to the front side (Velcro side) of the attachable pad on the spin disk. Discard after use.

Detaching/Attaching the water tank: Press the lower part of the water tank to detach. When attaching, insert the front end first. Do not use groundwater or polluted water.

Replacing the dust bag:

If the START/STOP button on the Clean Station turns red, check if the dust bag is full. If not full, check for a clog in the vacuum’s dustbin, pipe, or brush.

1. Pull the front cover release lever to open the front cover.

2. Remove the full dust bag.

3. Slide the new dust bag into the guide until it stops.

4. Close the front cover until it clicks.

You must dispose of the used dust bag; it is not re-usable. It is recommended to replace the dust bag every one to two months during periods of high temperature and humidity.

Cleaning the Premotor Filter:

Use the handle to lift the filter out and shake it over a bin to remove dust.

Cleaning the Fine Dust Filter:

Remove the filter and shake it over a bin to remove dust.

Cleaning the Dustbin/Washable Micro Filter:

1. Press the dustbin release button to detach the dustbin.

2. Remove the Washable Micro Filter and Metal Mesh Grille Filter assembly from the dustbin.

3. Separate the Washable Micro Filter from the Metal Mesh Grille Filter.

4. Press the dustbin lid release button to open the dustbin and empty it.

5. Wash the dustbin, Washable Micro Filter, and Metal Mesh Grille Filter with water.

6. Dry all parts completely in the shade for more than 24 hours before reassembling. Using a wet filter can cause an odor. Heat can cause deformation.

CAUTION: Do not unscrew the screw (A) on the cyclone assembly. Be careful not to press the dustbin lid release button when cleaning the dustbin and Washable Micro Filter.

Cleaning the Fine Dust Filter:

Make sure the product is turned off before cleaning.

1. Turn the Fine Dust Filter toward the unlock icon to disassemble it.

2. Remove the dust. For best performance, clean the filter with water once a month.

3. Dry it completely for more than 24 hours in the shade before use. Using it while still damp can cause odors. Applying heat can cause deformation.

4. To reassemble, turn the filter toward the lock icon.

CAUTION: A flat-head screwdriver is required for full disassembly. Be careful not to injure your hands. Do not allow water to contact the detached control panel.

Active Dual Brush:

1. Press the brush release button to detach the spin brush.

2. Use scissors to remove any tangled foreign matter like hair or string.

3. Wipe the brush clean with a dry cloth.

4. Re-insert the spin brush until it clicks.

Slim LED Brush+:

1. Press the brush release button to detach the spin brush.

2. Remove foreign matter with a wet tissue or dry cloth. Do not clean the brush with water.

3. To prevent bristle compression, dry the spin brush vertically on the floor.

4. Properly insert the spin brush back into its slot until it clicks.

Slim LED Brush+ Roller Wheels:

Use a small screwdriver to disassemble the front and rear roller wheels. Remove any tangled foreign matter, then reassemble. For the front wheel, align the marked line on the wheel to the line on the brush body.

Spray Spinning Sweeper:

Wash the reusable wet pads. If the spin disk does not work after cleaning, the motor’s overheating prevention device may have been enabled. Wait 30 minutes or more for it to cool down.

Pet Tool +:

Cut any tangled hair or fur with scissors, then use a vacuum cleaner to suck up the pieces.

Extension Crevice Tool / Telescopic Pipe:

Insert a long thin stick and rotate it several times to clean the inside.

The SmartThings app is only compatible with models that have a Wi-Fi function.

STEP 1: Setting up the wireless router

Your vacuum cleaner supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n, Soft-AP). IEEE 802.11n is recommended.

It supports DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Ensure the DHCP server option is activated on your router.

It supports WEP-OPEN, WPA-PSK/TKIP, and WPA2-PSK/AES protocols. WPA2-PSK/AES is recommended.

Confirm your router has a unique SSID and password.

STEP 2: Downloading the SmartThings app

Download and install the “SmartThings” app from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Samsung Galaxy Store.

The app is compatible with Android 8.0 or later (at least 3 GB of RAM) and iOS 14.0 or later.

STEP 3: Setting up a Samsung account

You must sign in to a Samsung account before using the app. Follow the directions in the app to set one up.

STEP 4: Registering the device to the SmartThings app

1. Connect your smartphone to your wireless router.

2. Open the SmartThings app.

3. If a pop-up appears saying a new device has been found, tap ADD NOW. If not, select ‘Stick vacuums’ under the ‘Home appliances’ category and select your vacuum cleaner. You can also scan the QR code at the bottom of the Clean Station.

4. The connection will proceed automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions for authentication.

5. The connection to your wireless router will then proceed automatically.

6. When registration is complete, the Stick vacuum device card will be added to your app.

The app allows you to check and control your product remotely.

If the vacuum cleaner does not work, please check the following:

Check the battery level and charge the battery if needed.

Check that the product is turned off, and then press the Power button to turn it on.

Make sure the battery is properly inserted into the vacuum cleaner.

Check whether the Telescopic Pipe, the dustbin, or the brush is blocked.

Check that the Washable Micro Filter is inserted correctly.

If the vacuum cleaner has not been used for a long time, charge the battery.

If the battery is dead, replace the battery.

Check if the battery protection mode is activated (blinking red light). Refer to the section ‘How to use the batteries optimally’.

If an accessory’s spinning part is not moving, try these solutions:

If the ‘Check Brush’ message appears on the display, turn off the vacuum cleaner and check if the brush is clogged with foreign matter. If so, remove the foreign matter and restart the vacuum.

Turn the vacuum cleaner off and then on again.

For the Slim LED Brush+ and Spray Spinning Sweeper, the accessory’s motor may have an overheating prevention device. If it has been enabled, it may take about 30 minutes for the motor to cool down before it will work again.

If you notice an odor from the air outlet or filter, consider the following:

As your vacuum cleaner is a new product, it may have a slight odor for the first 3 months after purchase. This is normal.

If you use the vacuum cleaner for a long period, accumulated dirt in the dustbin or dust on the filter may generate an odor. Empty the dustbin and clean the filters frequently.

Replacement filters are available at your local Samsung service agent if the odor persists.

If the vacuum cleaner cannot be charged, check the following points:

Make sure the vacuum cleaner is properly placed on the Clean Station.

Make sure the Clean Station is properly plugged in.

Confirm that the voltage provided to the Clean Station matches the requirements of the Clean Station.

Check that the vacuum cleaner is turned on, and then check that the LED of the battery level indicator is turned on.

Check if there is foreign matter (dust) on the charging terminals. Remove any foreign matter with a cotton swab or soft cloth.

Check if you have turned the ‘Display and lights’ option off in the SmartThings app, as this affects the charging indicators.

If the dustbin emptying and self-diagnosis functions are not working, try these steps:

Make sure the Clean Station is properly plugged in.

Make sure the vacuum cleaner is properly placed on the Clean Station.

Check if you have enabled the Auto Empty function in the SmartThings app.

Check the Bluetooth connection. Press and hold the Clean Station’s START/STOP button for 5 seconds. It blinks red if not connected, and blue if connected. To connect, hold the START/STOP button for 5 seconds until it blinks, then press the Auto Empty button. On the vacuum, press ‘+’ and ‘-‘ simultaneously, then press and hold ‘+’ and ‘-‘ for 3 seconds until ‘Connecting to Bluetooth’ appears on the display.

Make sure the battery is properly inserted into the vacuum cleaner.

If the vacuum is placed back on the Clean Station within a minute of being removed, the Auto Empty function will not operate.

If you set the default suction power setting in the SmartThings app to a mode other than AI, the Clean Station will not perform self-diagnosis after emptying the dustbin.

The product has an overheating prevention device for the motor, which will stop operation temporarily under the following conditions. After correcting the cause, turn the product on again.

When the vacuum cleaner operates with a full dustbin.

When the vacuum cleaner operates with a brush, pipe, or tool that is clogged.

When the Extension Crevice Tool is used for long hours.

If the suction power suddenly drops and the vacuum vibrates, please check for blockages:

Check whether the brush, dustbin, or Telescopic Pipe is clogged with foreign matter and remove it.

Check whether the dustbin is full. If it is, empty the bin.

Check whether the filter is dirty. If it is, clean the filter.

Here are solutions for common SmartThings app issues:

App cannot be installed: The app requires Android OS 8.0 or later, or iOS 14.0 or later. Normal installation is not guaranteed on rooted devices.

Fails to connect with the Clean Station: Refer to the ‘SmartThings app’ section in the user manual. Check the Bluetooth connection by pressing and holding the Clean Station’s START/STOP button for 5 seconds (blinks red for not connected, blue for connected).

Cannot log into Samsung account: Check your ID and password on the screen of the Samsung account.

Wireless router not detected during registration: Cancel the registration, open the app again, and retry.

Entered wrong Wi-Fi password: Cancel the registration, open the app again, and retry. On your phone’s network list, press and hold the router you want to connect to and delete the network to initialize the password.

Registration failed message: Try the procedure again by referring to pop-up messages or the ‘SmartThings app’ section. If it keeps failing, restart the app and try again.

Clean Station not connected to Wi-Fi: Check the settings of your wireless router.

Cannot operate product from smartphone: Turn the app off and run it again. Disconnect the smartphone from the router and reconnect. Turn the Clean Station off and on again, then retry.

Clean Station appears offline: Check your router’s internet connection. The Clean Station may be too far from the router. Close the app and restart it. If the connection cannot be resolved, try registering the product again. If the SSID/password of your router has changed, register the product again. Check if you have blocked the network connection in the settings (hold Auto Empty button for 15 seconds to allow).

Delayed response when controlling: If your smartphone is not on the same network as the Clean Station, a response delay can occur depending on the network environment.

Charging and cleaning time may differ depending on the type of brush and the conditions of use.
