You can access and control menu options and functions using voice commands. Examples of voice commands include “Live TV”, “HDMI1”, or “USB”.

On the Samsung Smart Remote, press and hold the Voice Interaction button, say a command, and then release the button to run Voice Interaction. When you press the button, the Enter Voice Command Guide menu appears at the bottom of the screen.

The supported languages and features for voice interaction may differ depending on the geographical area.

Note: The items’ colours and shapes may vary depending on the models. Cables not included can be purchased separately. Check for any accessories hidden behind or in the packing materials when opening the box.

Warning: Screens can be damaged from direct pressure when handled incorrectly. We recommend lifting the TV at the edges, as shown in the user manual diagrams. Do not touch the screen.

To connect the One Invisible Connection cable to the One Connect and your TV, follow these steps:

1. Connect the specific TV-end connector of the One Invisible Connection cable to the TV. Then, connect the connector with the arrow icon to the One Connect box.

2. Connect the One Connect AC power cord to the One Connect box and then to a power outlet.

The One Invisible Connection contains a power circuit. Be careful with the following actions:

• Do not bend, twist, pull, or press on the cable.

• When connecting the One Invisible Connection, use a Bending Cover to prevent the cable from being bent at a 90-degree angle, which could cause damage.

• Pay attention to the shapes of the connectors to ensure they are connected correctly. Failure to do so may cause a product malfunction.

• Be careful not to twist the cable of the One Invisible Connection. This can cause performance degradation or damage to the cable.

• This is a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT. Do not stare into the beam. Do not bend or cut cables excessively, place heavy objects on the cable, or disassemble the connector.

Make sure you have all the accessories shown in the user manual, and that you assemble the stand following the provided assembly instructions.

If you mount this TV on a wall, follow the instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is correctly mounted, the TV may slide or fall and cause serious injury or damage.

1. For models providing wall mount adapters, install them as shown in the user manual figure before installing the wall mount kit.

2. Refer to the installation manual included with the Samsung wall mount kit for detailed instructions.

Important Notes:

• You can install your wall mount on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. For surfaces other than plasterboard, contact your nearest dealer.

• If you are installing a third-party wall mount, the length of the screws is shown in column C of the VESA specifications table.

• When installing a wall mount kit, it is recommended to fasten all four VESA screws.

• Do not install your wall mount kit while your TV is turned on. This may result in personal injury from electric shock.

• Do not use screws that are longer than the standard dimension or do not comply with the VESA standard screw specifications. Screws that are too long may cause damage to the inside of the TV set.

• For wall mounts that do not comply with VESA standard screw specifications, the length of the screws may differ.

• Do not fasten the screws too firmly, as this may damage the product or cause it to fall.

• Do not mount the TV at more than a 15-degree tilt.

• Always have two people mount the TV onto a wall.

When you install your SAMSUNG QE55Q8FN and One Connect, maintain a distance of at least 10 cm between the TV and One Connect with other objects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure proper ventilation. Failing to maintain proper ventilation may result in a fire or a problem with the product caused by an increase in its internal temperature.

Whether you install your TV with a stand or a wall mount, we strongly recommend you use parts provided by Samsung Electronics only.

Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV may cause the TV to fall. To add stability and safety, you can install the anti-fall device as follows:

1. Using the appropriate screws, firmly fasten a set of brackets to the wall. Confirm that the screws are firmly attached. You may need additional material like wall anchors depending on the wall type.

2. Using appropriately sized screws, firmly fasten a set of brackets to the TV. For screw specifications, refer to “Standard Screw” in the VESA table in the user manual.

3. Connect the brackets fixed to the TV and the brackets fixed to the wall with a durable, heavy-duty string, and then tie the string tightly.

• Install the TV near the wall so that it does not fall backward.

• Connect the string so that the brackets fixed to the wall are at the same height as or lower than the brackets fixed to the TV.

Refer to the figure in the user manual to detach the stand cover.

You can use the Control Stick on the bottom of the SAMSUNG QE55Q8FN instead of the remote control. The screen may dim if the protective film on the SAMSUNG logo or the bottom of the TV is not detached. Please remove the protective film.

While watching TV:

• Press the up/down directional buttons to change the channel.

• Press the left/right directional buttons to adjust the volume.

Control Menu:

• Press the center button on the Control Stick to display the Control menu.

• To run an item, press the directional buttons to move the focus, and then press the center button to select.

• Press center button: Display the Control menu / Select or run a focused item.

• Press and hold center button: The running function is terminated.

• Up/Down button: Changes the channel.

• Left/Right button: Changes the volume.

The Control Stick is located on the bottom of the TV.

This remote has Braille points on the Power, Channel, Volume, and Select buttons for visually impaired users.

• POWER: Turns the TV on and off.
• SOURCE: Displays and selects available video sources.
• Number buttons (0-9): Gives direct access to channels.
• . (dash): Used for selecting digital channels.
• PRE-CH: Returns to the previous channel.
• + VOL –: Adjusts the volume.
• MUTE: Turns the sound on/off.
• ^ CH v: Changes the current channel.
• Smart Hub button: Launches Home Screen and displays the main on-screen menu.
• CH LIST: Launches the Channel List.
• SETTINGS: Displays the settings menu.
• GUIDE: Displays the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG).
• REC: Records whatever you are currently watching (not available in all geographical areas).
• INFO: Displays information about the current programme or content.
• Arrow buttons / (Select): Moves the cursor, selects on-screen menu items, and changes values.
• RETURN: Returns to the previous menu or channel.
• EXIT: Exits the menu.
• A, B, C, D (Colour buttons): Use these buttons according to the directions on the TV screen.
• PIC SIZE: Changes the picture size.
• PICTURE: Changes the picture mode.
• AD/SUBT.: Displays the Accessibility Shortcuts.
• TTX/MIX: Selects Teletext mode.
• Playback control buttons: Use these buttons with specific features according to the directions on the TV screen.

• (Power): Press to turn the TV on or off.
• 123 (Colour/Number button): Displays coloured buttons window and virtual numeric pad alternately. Use coloured buttons for specific features. Use the numeric pad to enter numeric values. Press for 1 second or more to see the TTX menu.
• (Voice Interaction): Press and hold to say a command, then release to run.
• (Ambient Mode): In TV mode, press to enter Ambient Mode. If pressed when the TV is off, the TV turns on in Ambient Mode. Press for 1 second or more to show the Shortcuts menu.
• Directional pad (up/down/left/right): Moves the focus and changes values on the TV’s menu.
• Select: Selects or runs a focused item. When pressed while watching content, detailed programme information appears.
• (Return): Returns to the previous menu. Press for 1 second or more to terminate the running function. When watching a programme, it returns to the previous channel.
• (Play/pause): Shows playback controls for media content.
• (Smart Hub): Returns to the Home Screen.
• VOL (Volume): Move the button up or down to adjust volume. Press the button to mute. Press for 1 second or more for the Accessibility Shortcuts menu.
• CH (Channel): Move the button up or down to change the channel. Press the button to see the Guide screen. Press for 1 second or more for the Channel List screen.

The battery size is AAA.

1. Gently pull on the battery cover’s notch and then remove the cover completely once it comes loose.

2. Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries, making sure to align the positive and negative polarities correctly with the symbols in the compartment.

3. Place the battery cover on the remote control and insert it into the remote.

4. Slide the battery cover in the order shown so that it is completely attached to the remote control.

Note: Use the remote control within 7m of the TV. Bright lights may affect performance.

Alkaline batteries (1.5V AAA type) are recommended for longer life.

1. Press the ▲ button at the top rear of the Samsung Smart Remote. The body will pop out slightly from the body cover.

2. Turn the remote over, and then slide the body of the remote upwards until the battery compartment is revealed.

3. If there are batteries in the remote, press the ► and ◄ buttons on both sides of the battery compartment to remove them.

4. Insert two new batteries, making sure that the polarities (+, -) are oriented correctly.

5. Slide the body of the remote until it is nearly in its original position.

6. Turn the remote over, press and hold the ▲ button on the top rear, and then slide the body of the remote down into place.

When you turn on the TV for the first time by pressing the (Power) button on the Samsung Smart Remote, the TV automatically pairs with it.

If the Samsung Smart Remote does not pair to the TV automatically, point it at the remote control sensor of the TV, and then press and hold the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or more.

The Samsung Smart Remote can only be paired to one TV at a time. It is recommended to use the remote at a distance of less than 6m.

You can control external devices connected to the TV using the remote control. To do this, you need to register them by following the on-screen instructions.

Navigate to Source > Universal Remote to begin.

• This function may not be supported depending on the model.

• You can also use the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) function to operate external Samsung devices without any additional setup.

• Certain external devices may not support the universal remote feature.

• Do not place any obstacles in front of an external device, as it may cause signals from the remote to be transmitted improperly.

• The TV memorizes both the external device and its connection port (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.).

When you turn on your TV for the first time, it immediately starts the Initial Setup. This allows you to configure basic settings like broadcast reception, channel search, and network connection.

• Before starting, be sure to connect external devices first.

• To use the TV’s smart features, the TV must be connected to the Internet.

You can also start the Initial Setup manually from the TV’s menu: Settings > General > Start Setup.

Follow the instructions displayed on the Initial Setup screen to configure the TV’s basic settings to suit your viewing environment.

Connecting the TV to a network gives you access to online services such as the Smart Hub and software updates.

Network Connection – Wireless

Connect the TV to the Internet using a standard wireless router or modem. The TV will detect wireless networks and you can select yours and enter the password during the initial setup or via the network settings menu.

Network Connection – Wired

There are three main ways to connect your TV to your network using a LAN cable (not supplied).

• Connect a LAN cable from the LAN port on the wall to the LAN port on your TV.

• The TV does not support network speeds less than or equal to 10Mbps.

• Use a Cat7 (*STP Type – Shielded Twist Pair) cable for the connection.

Changing the input signal:

Go to the Source screen. When you select a connected external device, its output is displayed on the TV’s screen.

Editing external devices:

You can change the port name for a connected external device or add it to the Home Screen.

1. On the Source screen, move the focus to a connected external device.

2. Press the Up directional button. The following functions become available:

• Edit: Rename the port with the name of an input device or a desired name to make it easier to change the input mode.

• Information: View detailed information about the external device connected to the TV.

• Add to Home: Add the port of an external device to the Home Screen for quick switching.

• Make sure that the AC power cord is securely plugged in to the TV and the wall outlet.

• Make sure that the wall outlet is working and the power indicator at the bottom of the TV is lit and glowing a solid red.

• Try pressing the Power button at the bottom of the TV to make sure that the problem is not with the remote control. If the TV turns on, refer to troubleshooting for the remote control.

• Make sure the connection to the external device is correct and that all cables are fully inserted.

• Remove and reconnect all cables connected to the TV and the external devices. Try new cables if possible.

• Confirm that the correct input source has been selected (Source).

• Perform a TV self-diagnosis to determine if the problem is caused by the TV or the device (Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Picture Test or Start Sound Test).

• If the test results are normal, reboot the connected devices by unplugging each device’s power cord and then plugging it in again.

• If you are not using a cable box or satellite box, and your TV is receiving signals from an antenna or a cable wall connector, run Auto Tuning to search for channels (Settings > Broadcasting > (Auto Tuning Settings) > Auto Tuning). Note: Auto Tuning Settings may not appear depending on the model or geographical area.

• Your Samsung TV conforms to the CI+ 1.4 standards.

• Where a CI+ Common Interface module is incompatible with this device, please remove the module and contact the CI+ operator for assistance.

• Check if the power indicator at the bottom of the TV blinks when you press the remote’s Power button. If it does not, replace the remote control’s batteries.

• Make sure that the batteries are installed with their poles (+/-) in the correct direction.

• Try pointing the remote directly at the TV from 1.5 ~ 1.8 m away.

• If your TV came with a Samsung Smart Remote (Bluetooth Remote), make sure to pair the remote to the TV.

Programme the cable box or satellite box remote control to operate the TV. Refer to the cable box or satellite box user manual for the SAMSUNG TV code.

The TV is in the Retail Mode. Change the Usage Mode in the General Menu to Home Mode.

Go to: Settings > General > System Manager > Usage Mode > Home Mode.

• Make sure the TV has a network connection (Settings > General > Network > Network Status).

• Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.

• Check the distance between the TV and the Modem/Router. The distance should not exceed 15.2 m.

• Reduce interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the Modem/Router. (The Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

• Change the DNS to 8.8.8.8. Select: Settings > General > Network > Network Status > IP Settings > DNS setting > Enter manually > DNS Server > enter 8.8.8.8 > OK.

• Reset by selecting: Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.

The Eco Sensor adjusts the brightness of the TV automatically. This feature measures the light in your room and optimizes the brightness of the TV to reduce power consumption.

If you want to turn this off, go to Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

• If the screen is too dark while you are watching TV in a dark environment, it may be due to the Ambient Light Detection function.

• The eco sensor is located at the bottom of the TV. Do not block the sensor with any object, as this can decrease picture brightness.

• If a sticker was attached to the TV screen, some debris can remain after you remove it. Please clean the debris off before watching TV.

• The exterior and screen of the TV can get scratched during cleaning. Be sure to wipe the exterior and screen carefully using a soft cloth to prevent scratches.

• Do not spray water or any liquid directly onto the TV. Any liquid that goes into the product may cause a failure, fire, or electric shock.

• To clean the screen, turn off the TV, then gently wipe away smudges and fingerprints on the panel with a micro-fiber cloth. Clean the body or panel of the TV with a micro-fiber cloth dampened with a small amount of water. After that, remove the moisture with a dry cloth. While cleaning, do not apply strong force to the surface of the panel because it can damage the panel.

• Never use flammable liquids (benzene, thinner, etc.) or a cleaning agent. For stubborn smudges, spray a small amount of screen cleaner on a micro-fiber cloth, and then use the cloth to wipe away the smudges.

When you shut the TV off, it enters Standby mode. In Standby mode, it continues to draw a small amount of power. To decrease power consumption, unplug the power cord when you don’t intend to use the TV for a long time.
