Before loading, ensure documents are not smaller than 148 x 210 mm or larger than 297 x 432 mm. Do not load carbon paper, coated paper, onion skin, wrinkled, curled, or torn paper. Remove all staples and paper clips.

Step 1. Flex and fan the edge of the stack of originals to separate the pages.

Step 2. Load the originals face up in the DSDF. Make sure the back edge of the stack lines up with the paper size marked on the document input tray.

Step 3. Adjust the document width guides to fit the paper size.

The standard tray can hold up to 1,040 sheets of plain paper. The process is the same for trays 1, 2, 3, and 4 (optional dual cassette feeder).

Step 1. Squeeze the handle and pull the tray out.

Step 2. Squeeze the paper length guide and pull it to the end of the tray.

Step 3. Squeeze the paper width guide and pull it to the end of the tray.

Step 4. Flex and fan the edge of the paper stack to separate the pages.

Step 5. Load the paper with the print side facing up.

Step 6. Adjust the paper length guide to the desired paper length and fix it using the locking switch.

Step 7. Pinch the paper width guide and move it toward the stack of paper until it lightly touches the side. Do not push it too tightly, as this may cause the paper to bend.

Step 8. Ensure the paper stack is below the maximum paper capacity guide inside the tray.

Step 9. Insert the tray back into the machine.

The multi-purpose tray is useful for printing on special media like postcards, envelopes, and colored paper. Here are some tips:

Load only one type, size, and weight of print media at a time.

Do not add paper while the machine is printing.

Load media face down with the top edge going into the machine first.

Flatten any curls on postcards, envelopes, and labels before loading.

To load paper:

Step 1. Open the multi-purpose tray and pull out the extension if necessary.

Step 2. Flex or fan the edge of the paper stack to separate the pages.

Step 3. Load the paper with the side to be printed on facing down.

Step 4. Squeeze the multi-purpose tray paper width guides and adjust them to the width of the paper without forcing them too much.

When printing on special media like envelopes, transparencies, labels, or card stock, follow these guidelines for the best results:

Envelopes:

Use well-constructed envelopes with sharp, well-creased folds.

Ensure the paper weight does not exceed 90 g/m2.

Do not use stamped envelopes, or envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, or self-adhesive seals.

Avoid printing over the area where the envelope’s seams meet.

Transparencies:

Use only transparencies designed for use in laser printers.

Place them on a flat surface after removing them from the machine.

To avoid smudging, handle them carefully.

Do not leave unused transparencies in the paper tray for long periods.

Labels:

Use only labels designed for use in laser printers.

Ensure there is no exposed adhesive material between labels.

Labels must lie flat with no more than 13 mm of curl in any direction.

Do not run a sheet of labels through the machine more than once.

Card Stock/Custom-Sized Paper:

Do not print on media smaller than 98 mm wide or 148 mm long.

In your software, set margins to at least 6.4 mm away from the edges.

Letterhead/Preprinted Paper:

Must be printed with heat-resistant ink that will not melt or release hazardous emissions at the machine’s fusing temperature.

Performing a Basic Print Job (from Windows)

Step 1. Open the document you want to print.

Step 2. Select Print from the File menu.

Step 4. To use advanced features, click Properties or Preferences to open the Printing Preferences window.

Step 5. To start the print job, click OK or Print in the Print window.

Canceling a Print Job

If the print job is waiting in the print queue or spooler, you can cancel it in one of the following ways:

Double-click the machine icon in the Windows task bar to open the print queue, right-click the job, and select Cancel.

Use the Cancel Print option from the Samsung Printer Status program window.

To access the Printing Preferences window for your SAMSUNG MULTIXPRESS X760X, open a document, go to File > Print, select your printer, and then click on Properties or Preferences. The window contains several tabs with various settings:

Step 4. Enter the desired number of copies on the numeric keypad or use the + / – buttons on the control panel.

Step 5. Tap the Start button from the control panel to begin copying.

To cancel the current copy job, tap Stop, then tap Job Status on the control panel. Then delete the job you want.

The ID Copy feature allows you to print both sides of a small original, like a business card or ID card, onto one side of a single sheet of paper. The original must be placed on the scanner glass for this feature.

Standard ID Copy:

Step 1. Tap ID Copy from the home screen or Apps.

Step 2. If necessary, adjust settings such as Print Layout, Original Size, Paper Source, etc.

Step 3. Place the front side of the ID card on the scanner glass where the arrows indicate, then close the scanner lid.

Step 4. Tap Start. The machine will scan the front side.

Step 5. Place the back side of the ID card on the scanner glass where the arrows indicate, then close the scanner lid.

Step 6. Tap Next. The machine will scan the back side and print both sides on one sheet.

Manual ID Copy:

This feature allows you to customize the layout to print 1 to 4 originals on one sheet.

Step 1. From the home or Apps screen, tap ID Copy > Manual.

Step 2. Select a Template and Paper Source. You can also create and edit templates.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to place each original and scan.

Follow these steps to scan your original documents:

Step 1. Tap Scan & Send from the home screen or Apps.

Step 2. Place the originals face up in the DSDF or place a single original face down on the scanner glass and close the DSDF.

Step 3. Adjust the settings in the Send tab and More tab as needed (e.g., brightness, color, resolution, file format).

Step 4. Tap the From field to input the sender’s information.

Step 5. Tap to add a destination. You can enter an email address or fax number directly, or select a destination by tapping the + Me, Email, SMB, FTP, Box, USB, PC, or Address book buttons.

Step 6. Tap the Start button from the control panel to begin the scan.

To cancel the job, tap Stop, then tap Job Status on the control panel, and delete the job.

To send a fax from the control panel, follow these steps:

Step 1. Place the originals face up in the DSDF or face down on the scanner glass.

Step 2. Tap Scan & Send from the home screen or Apps.

Step 3. Adjust the document settings in the Send tab or More tab if necessary.

Step 4. Tap to open the fax screen. Enter a fax number directly using the on-screen keypad. Alternatively, you can use your Favorites, Recent, Groups, or Contacts to select a destination.

You can send a fax to up to 50 destinations at once.

To insert a pause, tap ‘P’ while entering the number.

To use On Hook dial, tap the On Hook icon and enter the number while you hear the dial tone.

Step 5. Press Send to start the process.

You can also send a fax directly from a Windows or Mac computer by installing the Samsung Network PC Fax driver and selecting it as the printer in your application.

You can store, edit, and delete fax numbers, email addresses, and server addresses using the Address book app on the control panel.

Storing an Individual Address:

Step 1. Tap Address book on the home screen or Apps, then tap the add icon.

Step 2. Tap the Name field and enter the recipient’s name.

Step 3. A Speed Dial number is automatically assigned. You can change it if needed.

Step 4. Tap the Email, Fax, SMB, or FTP input boxes to enter the contact information.

Step 5. Tap OK to save the information.

Editing an Individual Address:

Step 1. Tap Address book > Contacts.

Step 2. Tap the name of the individual you want to edit, then tap the edit icon.

Step 3. Tap the input field you want to change and type in the new information.

Step 4. Tap Done to save.

Deleting an Address:

Step 1. Tap Address book > Contacts or Groups.

Step 2. Check the boxes of the addresses you want to delete.

Step 3. Tap the Sub menu (action overflow) icon > Delete Contacts.

Step 4. Tap OK in the confirmation window.

You can also manage address groups by navigating to the Groups tab and using the add, edit, and delete functions similarly.

If you experience frequent paper jams or printing problems, you should check the remaining lifespan of supplies and replace parts if necessary.

From the Machine’s Control Panel:

Step 1. Tap Settings > Management > Supplies Life from the main screen.

Step 2. The screen will display the life of the supplies, such as the toner cartridge and imaging unit.

It is recommended to prepare new supplies when they have used over 90% of their average yield.

You can directly print supported file types (TIFF, JPEG, PDF, PRN) from a USB drive.

Step 1. Insert a USB Drive device into the USB port on your machine. The machine will automatically detect it.

Step 2. Tap Box > USB from the home screen or Apps.

Step 3. The machine will show all files on the USB Drive. Touch and hold the folder or document you want to print.

Step 4. If the file is secured with a password, you will be prompted to enter it.

Step 5. Tap the menu icon > Print > Print Options.

Step 6. Select the appropriate options such as Copies, Paper Source, and Auto fit.

Step 7. Tap the print icon to begin printing.

Step 8. After printing is complete, you can safely remove the USB Drive device from the machine.

When the toner cartridge is near the end of its life and you see white streaks or light printing, you can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the remaining toner.

Step 1. Open the front door of the machine.

Step 2. Pull the corresponding toner cartridge out from the machine.

Step 3. Thoroughly shake the cartridge five or six times to distribute the toner evenly inside.

Step 4. Hold the toner cartridge and align it with the corresponding slot inside the machine. Insert it back into its slot until it locks in place.

Step 5. Close the front door. Ensure that the door is securely closed.

Caution: If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash the clothing in cold water. Hot water sets toner into fabric.

When the toner cartridge is empty, the status LED will turn red and a message will appear on the display screen. Follow these steps to replace it:

Step 1. Open the front door.

Step 2. Pull the corresponding used toner cartridge out of the machine.

Step 3. Unpack the new toner cartridge from its bag.

Step 4. Thoroughly roll the new cartridge five or six times to distribute the toner evenly inside.

Step 5. Carefully remove the cap from the toner cartridge or pull the sealing tape out.

Step 6. Hold the new toner cartridge and align it with the corresponding slot inside the machine. Insert it back into its slot until it locks in place.

Step 7. Close the front door securely. If the door is not completely closed, the machine will not operate.

When the life of the waste toner container expires, the display screen shows an error message. At this stage, it needs to be replaced.

Step 1. Open the front door.

Step 2. Push the left/right locking levers and push outward as shown, then remove the full waste toner container.

Step 3. Remove the new waste toner container from its package.

Step 4. Insert the new waste toner container until it locks in place.

Step 5. Close the front door. Ensure that the door is securely closed.

By selecting the correct media types, most paper jams can be avoided. When a paper jam occurs, refer to the next guidelines.

Ensure that the adjustable guides are positioned correctly.

Do not overload the tray. Ensure that the paper level is below the paper capacity mark on the inside of the tray.

Do not remove paper from the tray while your machine is printing.

Flex, fan, and straighten paper before loading.

Do not use creased, damp, or highly curled paper.

Do not mix paper types in a tray.

Use only recommended print media.

Ensure that the recommended side of the print media is facing up in the tray, or facing down in the multi-purpose tray.

When a paper jam occurs, a warning message appears on the display screen. To avoid tearing the paper, pull the jammed paper out slowly and gently. The procedure depends on the location of the jam:

Original Jam in Scanner: Open the DSDF cover, remove any remaining pages, and gently remove the jammed paper. If necessary, open the DSDF input tray to access other areas. Close all covers when finished.

Jam in Tray 1 or 2: Open the right door and gently pull the jammed paper straight out. If you cannot see the paper, pull out the corresponding tray and remove the paper from there. Close the door and re-insert the tray.

Jam in Tray 3 or 4 (Optional): Open the right bottom door of the dual cassette feeder and gently pull the paper out. If not visible, pull out the tray to remove the jammed paper. Close the door and re-insert the tray.

Jam in Multi-Purpose Tray: If paper is not feeding properly, pull the paper out of the machine. Open and close the front door to resume printing.

Jam Inside the Machine (Fuser/Duplex Path): The fuser area is hot. Be careful. Open the right door, and gently pull the jammed paper straight out. Close all doors securely to resume operation.

Jam in Exit Area: Gently pull the paper out of the output tray. Open and close the front door to resume printing.

Note: Dimensions and Weight are measured without other accessories.

Step 4. Reinsert the waste toner container and close the door.

Scan Unit:

Step 1. Prepare a soft, lint-free cloth.

Step 2. Open the scanner lid.

Step 3. Wipe the surface of the scanner glass, document feeder glass, and the underside of the scanner lid (white sheet) until they are clean and dry.

Step 4. Close the scanner lid.

General:

Keep them in a cool place with no humidity.

Keep them covered so that dust cannot accumulate.

Keep them out of water.

Machine:

When moving the machine, do not tilt or turn it upside down to avoid toner contamination inside.

When moving, ensure at least two people are holding the machine securely.

Toner Cartridge / Imaging Unit:

Do not remove the cartridge from its package until it’s ready to use.

Store cartridges in the same environment as your machine.

Keep it on a stable, flat surface.

Paper:

Store print media in its ream wrapper until you are ready to use it.

Place cartons on pallets or shelves, not on the floor.

Do not place heavy objects on top of the paper.

Keep it away from moisture.

Store in temperatures between 15°C – 30°C and humidity between 10% – 70%.
