Please follow these precautions when using your foldable device:

• Do not press the screen or the front camera with a hard or sharp object or apply excessive pressure. This could cause scratching or puncturing.

• The device is not dust resistant. Exposure to small particles may cause damage.

• When using the speakers, do not place the device close to your ears.

• Be careful not to expose the camera lens to a strong light source, as it may damage the camera image sensor, causing dots or spots in pictures.

• If the device’s glass or acrylic body is broken, there may be a risk of injury.

• Fold the device before putting it in a bag or storing it. Do not store it unfolded, as another object could scratch or puncture the screen.

• Do not fold the device toward the back side, as this will cause damage.

• When folding the device, do not place objects like cards, coins, or keys on the Main screen, as this may damage it.

• You may notice a crease at the center of the Main screen. This is a normal characteristic of the device.

• Be careful not to drop the device on the floor, as it could damage the screen or the folding area.

Adaptive flex mode on the Galaxy Z Fold6 allows you to take advantage of both screens for different viewing and camera experiences. NOTE: This mode is only available for supported apps.

• Flex mode: Open the phone and set it on a flat surface. Adjust one of the halves of the inside screen to a comfortable viewing angle. The video or viewfinder moves to the top half of the screen, while the controls appear on the bottom half.

• Tent view: Prop your device up on a flat surface using the edges of the screen and watch video on the cover screen.

• Cover view: Watch videos on the cover screen by setting the other half of the phone on a flat surface and adjusting the cover screen to a comfortable viewing angle.

When the device is opened at an angle, the screen automatically adjusts the top and bottom halves for optimal usage. For example, while using the Camera app in the Tabletop layout setting, the preview moves to the top half of the screen, and the shooting options move to the bottom half. NOTE: Flex mode is only available in supported apps.

Keep an app open on top of the screen and get additional controls on the bottom of the screen while your phone is folded upright. A button will appear on the navigation bar that lets you show and hide the Flex mode panel.

To turn the feature on:

From Settings, tap Advanced features > Flex mode panel.

NOTE: Flex mode panel is only available for apps that support multi window. Auto rotate needs to be enabled to use Flex mode panel.

To avoid electric shock and damage, do not charge the device while it is wet or in an area where it could get wet. Do not handle the device, charger, or cords with wet hands while charging. The device is not impervious to water damage in any situation. It is important that all compartments are closed tightly.

Follow these tips carefully to prevent damage and maintain water resistance performance:

• Rated IP48: Resists solid particles >1 mm; tested for submersion in up to 5 ft. of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Rinse residue/dry after wet.

• Any device which uses accessible compartments or ports that can be opened should have these sealed or closed tightly to prevent liquid from entering the system.

• If the device has been immersed in water, the touchscreen or other features may not work properly. If the microphone or speaker is wet, sound may not be heard clearly during a call. Use a dry cloth to dry the device thoroughly before using it.

• Do not expose the device to water at high pressure.

• If the device is dropped or receives an impact, the water resistant features of the device may be damaged.

NOTE: Liquid other than fresh water may enter the device faster. Failure to rinse the device in fresh water and dry it as instructed may cause the device to suffer from operability or cosmetic issues.

You can wirelessly charge compatible Samsung devices using your phone. Some features are not available while sharing power.

1. From Settings, tap Battery > Wireless power sharing.

2. Tap Battery limit and choose a percentage. Once the device you are charging has reached this level of charge, wireless power sharing automatically turns off.

3. Tap the switch to turn on the charging feature.

4. With the phone face down, place the compatible device on the back of the phone to charge. A notification sound or vibration occurs when charging begins.

For best results:

• Remove any accessories or cover before using the feature.

• The location of the wireless charging coil may vary by device, so you may need to adjust the placement to make a connection.

• Call reception or data services may be affected, depending on your network environment.

Use the Side button to turn your device on.

• To turn on: Press and hold the Side button.

• To turn off: Press and hold the Side button and Volume down button at the same time, and tap Power off. Confirm when prompted.

• To restart: Press and hold the Side button and Volume down button at the same time, and tap Restart. Confirm when prompted.

Use Smart Switch™ to transfer contacts, photos, music, videos, messages, notes, calendars, and more from your old device. Smart Switch can transfer your data using a USB cable, Wi-Fi, or computer.

1. From Settings, tap Accounts and backup > Transfer data for device setup.

2. Follow the prompts and select the content to transfer.

When your device is folded, use the touch screen to access shortcuts without opening the device. The following shortcuts are available:

• Press the Side button or double tap to wake the cover screen.

• Swipe right to display notifications.

• Swipe left to display widgets.

– To add a widget, touch and hold the screen, swipe left to the last screen, and tap Add widget.

– To delete a widget, touch and hold the widget, and then tap Delete.

• Swipe down to access Quick settings.

• Swipe right to answer or left to reject an incoming call.

You can customize the shortcuts assigned to the Side button.

Double press

Choose which feature is launched when the Side button is pressed twice.

1. From Settings, tap Advanced features > Side button.

2. Tap Double press, tap the switch to enable this feature, and tap an option: Camera (default) or Open app or function.

Long press

Choose which feature is launched when you press and hold the Side button.

1. From Settings, tap Advanced features > Side button.

2. Tap Long press for the following options: Digital assistant (default), Bixby, or Power off menu.

You can set up your voicemail service when you access it for the first time. Options may vary by service provider.

1. From the Phone app, touch and hold the 1 key or tap Voicemail.

2. Follow the tutorial to create a password, record a greeting, and record your name.

• Tap: Lightly touch items to select or launch them. Double-tap an image to zoom in or out.

• Swipe: Lightly drag across the screen to unlock the device or scroll through Home screens or menu options.

• Drag and drop: Touch and hold an item, and then move it to a new location. For example, drag an app shortcut to a Home screen.

• Zoom in and out: Bring two fingers together or apart on the screen to zoom.

• Touch and hold: Touch and hold items to activate them, like opening a pop-up menu of options.

You may navigate your device by using either navigation buttons or full screen gestures.

Navigation buttons

1. From Settings, tap Display > Navigation bar > Buttons.

2. Tap More options to customize the button order or position (Galaxy Z Fold6 only).

Navigation gestures

1. From Settings, tap Display > Navigation bar > Swipe gestures to enable the feature.

2. Tap More options to customize gesture sensitivity or block gestures with S Pen (Galaxy Z Fold6 only).

• Add an app icon: From Apps, touch and hold an app icon, and tap Add to Home.

• Remove an app icon: From a Home screen, touch and hold an app icon, and then tap Remove. (This does not delete the app).

• Change wallpaper: From a Home screen, touch and hold the screen, then tap Wallpaper and style to choose a picture, video, or preloaded wallpaper.

• Set a theme: From a Home screen, touch and hold the screen, then tap Themes to apply a new theme to your Home and Lock screens, wallpapers, and app icons.

• Add widgets: From a Home screen, touch and hold the screen, then tap Widgets. Swipe to the widget you want, tap it, and then tap Add.

Use Galaxy AI features with compatible Galaxy apps on your device to unleash your productivity, enhance your communication, and create epic images. To use these features, go to Settings > Galaxy AI, and sign in to your Samsung account.

• Call assist: Get real-time translation during voice calls.

• Writing assist: Change the writing style, get spelling and grammar suggestions, and translate messages.

• Interpreter: Live translation of spoken conversations available as voice or text output.

• Note assist: Automatically format, summarize, correct, and generate covers for your notes.

• Transcript assist: Transform recordings into text transcripts and summaries.

• Browsing assist: Get simple summaries and translations of webpage text.

• Photo assist: Edit images by repositioning, removing, or resizing people or objects.

• Drawing assist: Transform simple drawings into works of art.

• Audio eraser: Eliminate distracting noise in videos.

App continuity allows your apps to transition between the cover screen and the large display seamlessly. For the Galaxy Z Fold6, you can choose which apps you want to continue using on the cover screen when you close your device.

From Settings, tap Display > Continue apps on cover screen, and tap apps to enable this feature.

Multitask by using multiple apps at the same time on a split screen.

1. From any screen, tap Recent apps.

2. Tap the app icon, and then tap Open in split screen view.

3. Tap an app in the other window to add it to the split screen view.

• Drag the middle of the window border to adjust the window size.

To take pictures:

1. From Apps, tap Camera. You can also double press the Side button to open the Camera app.

2. Set up your shot with the following features:

• Tap the screen where you want the camera to focus. A brightness scale will appear; drag the slider to adjust brightness.

• To switch between the front and rear cameras, swipe the screen up or down.

• To zoom, tap a zoom magnification number at the bottom of the screen (rear camera only).

• To change shooting modes, swipe the screen right or left.

3. Tap the Capture button to take a picture.

From the Camera app, swipe the screen right and left to change shooting modes.

• Portrait: Adjust the background of your shots for portrait photos.

• Photo: Allow the camera to determine the ideal settings for pictures.

• Video: Allow the camera to determine the ideal settings for videos.

• More: Choose other available shooting modes. Tap Edit to customize the modes tray.

– Pro: Manually adjust ISO, exposure, white balance, and color tone.

– Pro video: Manually adjust video settings.

– Night: Take photos in low-light conditions without flash.

– Panorama: Create a linear image by taking pictures in a horizontal or vertical direction.

– Slow motion: Record videos at a high frame rate for slow motion viewing.

– Hyperlapse: Create a time-lapse video by recording at various frame rates.

– Single take: Capture multiple pictures and video clips from different angles.

1. From Camera, swipe right or left to change the shooting mode to Video.

2. Tap Record to begin recording a video.

• To take a picture while recording, tap Capture.

• To temporarily stop recording, tap Pause. To continue recording, tap Resume.

3. Tap Stop when you are finished recording.

The Gallery app is where you can find all visual media stored on your device.

Open Pictures and Videos:

1. From Gallery, tap Pictures.

2. Tap a picture or video to open it. Swipe left or right to display other pictures or videos.

Edit Pictures:

1. From Gallery, tap Pictures.

2. Tap a picture to open it, and then tap Edit to access tools for transforming, filtering, adjusting tone, and adding decorations.

Edit Videos:

1. From Gallery, tap Pictures.

2. Tap a video to open it, and then tap Edit to use tools for adjusting speed, trimming, transforming, and adding visual effects or audio.

Take a screenshot:

From any screen, press and release the Side button and Volume down button simultaneously. Your device will automatically create a Screenshots album in the Gallery app.

Palm swipe to capture a screenshot:

Capture an image of the screen by swiping the edge of your hand across it, from side to side, keeping in contact with the screen. To enable this, go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture.

Screen recorder:

Record activities on your device, write notes, and use the camera to record a video overlay of yourself.

1. From Quick Settings, tap Screen recorder.

2. Choose a sound setting, and tap Start recording.

3. A three-second countdown runs before it starts recording. You can tap Skip countdown to begin immediately.

4. Tap Stop to finish recording. Recordings are automatically saved to the Screen recordings album in the Gallery.

• Access the Apps list: From a Home screen, swipe the screen upward.

• Uninstall or disable apps: From Apps, touch and hold an app, and tap Uninstall/Disable. Some preloaded apps can only be disabled, which turns them off and hides them from the Apps list.

• Search for apps: From Apps, tap Search, and enter a word. Matching apps and settings will appear.

• Sort apps: From Apps, tap More options (⋮) > Sort to arrange apps alphabetically or in a custom order.

• Create folders: From Apps, touch and hold an app shortcut and drag it on top of another app shortcut until it is highlighted. Release to create the folder.

Make a call:

• From the Phone app, enter a number on the keypad and tap Call.

• From the Recents tab in the Phone app, tap a contact and then tap Call.

• From the Contacts app, swipe a contact to the right to call that contact.

Answer a call:

On the incoming call screen, drag the green Answer icon to the right.

Decline a call:

On the incoming call screen, drag the red Decline icon to the left to reject the call and send it to voicemail.

From the Call screen, you can tap an option:

• Record: Record calls and save them in the Voice Recorder app.

• Text call: Use the voice assistant to convert text into voice.

• Add call: Make another call while a call is in progress.

• Video call: Use your camera during a call.

• Bluetooth: Listen to the call using a Bluetooth device.

• Speaker: Listen to the call using the speaker.

• Mute: Turn off the microphone.

• Keypad: Display the keypad while on a call.

Wi-Fi:

1. From Settings, tap Connections > Wi-Fi, and then tap the switch to turn on Wi-Fi.

2. Tap a network from the list, and enter a password if required.

3. Tap Connect.

Bluetooth:

1. From Settings, tap Connections > Bluetooth, and then tap the switch to turn on Bluetooth.

2. Tap a device from the list and follow the prompts to connect.

NFC and payment:

Near Field Communication (NFC) allows you to communicate with another device without connecting to a network. From Settings, tap Connections > NFC and contactless payments, and then tap the switch to turn it on.

You can control the sounds and vibrations used for notifications, screen touches, and other interactions.

• Sound mode: From Settings, tap Sounds and vibration, and choose a mode: Sound, Vibrate, or Mute.

• Volume: From Settings, tap Sounds and vibration > Volume, and drag the sliders for each sound type (ringtone, media, notifications, system).

• Ringtone: From Settings, tap Sounds and vibration > Ringtone to customize your call ringtone.

• Vibrations: From Settings, tap Sounds and vibration and tap options to customize call vibration, notification vibration, and system vibration intensity.

• Dark mode: Switch to a darker theme to keep your eyes more comfortable at night. Go to Settings > Display and select Dark.

• Screen brightness: Adjust the screen brightness by going to Settings > Display > Brightness. Drag the slider or tap Adaptive brightness for automatic adjustment.

• Motion smoothness: Get smoother scrolling by increasing the screen’s refresh rate. Go to Settings > Display > Motion smoothness and select an option.

• Eye comfort shield: This feature may help you sleep better and reduce eye strain. Go to Settings > Display > Eye comfort shield to enable and customize it.

• Screen timeout: Set the screen to turn off after a set amount of time. Go to Settings > Display > Screen timeout and choose a time limit.

You can secure your device and protect your data by setting a screen lock.

Set a secure screen lock:

It is recommended that you secure your device using a Pattern, PIN, or Password. This is necessary to set up and enable biometric locks.

1. From Settings, tap Lock screen and AOD > Screen lock and biometrics.

2. Tap a secure screen lock type (Pattern, PIN, or Password) and follow the prompts.

Biometric security:

Use biometrics to securely unlock your device.

• Face recognition: Go to Settings > Security and privacy > Screen lock and biometrics > Face recognition and follow the prompts to register your face.

• Fingerprint scanner: Go to Settings > Security and privacy > Screen lock and biometrics > Fingerprints and follow the prompts to register your fingerprint.

Check the status of your device’s battery, storage, and memory. You can also automatically optimize your device’s system resources.

• Quick optimization: This feature improves device performance by identifying apps that use excessive battery power, deleting unnecessary files, closing background apps, and scanning for malware. From Settings, tap Device care > Optimize now.

• Battery: Review how battery power is used. From Settings, tap Device care > Battery to access power saving options, background usage limits, and more.

• Storage: Review your storage capacity and usage. From Settings, tap Device care > Storage.

• Memory: Check the amount of available memory and close background apps to speed up your device. From Settings, tap Device care > Memory.

You can reset device and network settings, or reset your device to its factory defaults.

• Reset all settings: This resets everything except security, language, and account settings. Personal data is not affected. From Settings, go to General management > Reset > Reset all settings.

• Reset network settings: This resets mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth settings. From Settings, go to General management > Reset > Reset mobile network settings.

• Factory Data Reset: This action permanently erases ALL data from the device. Before resetting, ensure you have backed up any important information. From Settings, go to General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
