What warnings and precautions should I be aware of when using my foldable device?
Please observe the following precautions:
• Your Samsung device contains magnets. Keep it away from credit cards and devices that may be affected by magnets. Keep your device more than 6 in./15 cm away from medical devices. If you suspect interference with a medical device, stop using your Samsung device and consult your medical provider.
• Do not press the screen or the front camera with a hard or sharp object or apply excessive pressure. Doing so could result in scratching or puncturing the screen.
• This device is not dust resistant. Exposure to small particles may cause damage to the device.
• When using the speakers do not place the device close to your ears.
• Be careful not to expose the camera lens to a strong light source. If the camera lens is exposed to a strong light source the camera image sensor may be damaged. A damaged image sensor is irreparable and will cause dots or spots in pictures.
• If you use the device with its glass or acrylic body broken, there may be a risk of injury.
• Fold the device before putting it in a bag or storing it. Do not store the device unfolded as another object could scratch or puncture the screen.
• Do not fold the device toward the back side. The device will be damaged.
• When folding the device, do not place any objects, such as cards, coins, or keys, on the Main screen. The screen may be damaged.
• You may notice a crease at the center of the Main screen. This is a normal characteristic of the device.
• For the Z Flip6, be careful not to drop the device on the floor, as it could damage the screen itself or the area where the screen folds.
• For the Z Flip6, when using a wireless charger or NFC, fold the device and place the center of the device’s back on the center of the wireless charger or NFC tag.
How do I use Adaptive flex mode on the Galaxy Z Fold6?
Take advantage of both screens for your preferred viewing and camera experiences. Adaptive flex mode is only available for supported apps.
• Flex mode: Open the phone and set it on a flat surface. Adjust one of the halves of the inside screen to a comfortable viewing angle. The video or viewfinder moves to the top half of the screen, while the controls appear on the bottom half.
• Tent view: Prop your device up on a flat surface using the edges of the screen and watch video on the cover screen.
• Cover view: Watch videos on the cover screen by setting the other half of the phone on a flat surface and adjusting the cover screen to a comfortable viewing angle.
How does Flex mode work on the Galaxy Z Flip6?
When the device is opened at an angle, the screen automatically adjusts the top and bottom halves for optimal usage. For example, while using the Camera app in the Tabletop layout setting, the preview moves to the top half of the screen, and the shooting options move to the bottom half.
Note: Flex mode is only available in supported apps.
What is the Flex mode panel and how do I enable it?
The Flex mode panel allows you to keep an app open on the top of the screen and get additional controls on the bottom of the screen while your phone is folded upright. A button will appear on the navigation bar that lets you show and hide the Flex mode panel.
To turn it on:
From Settings, tap Advanced features > Flex mode panel to turn the feature on.
Note: Flex mode panel is only available for apps that support multi window. Auto rotate needs to be enabled to use Flex mode panel.
How do I set up my device for the first time?
Your device uses a nano-SIM card. A SIM card may be preinstalled, or you may be able to use your previous SIM card. This device is also compatible with an eSIM.
1. Install SIM card: Place the SIM card into the tray as shown.
2. Charge your device: Before turning on your device, charge it fully.
Network indicators for 5G service are based on your service provider’s specifications and network availability. Contact your service provider for more details.
How do I maintain the water resistance of my device?
The device is not impervious to water damage in any situation. It is important that all compartments are closed tightly. Follow these tips carefully to prevent damage to the device and maintain water resistance performance:
• Rated IP48: Resists solid particles >1 mm; tested for submersion in up to 5 ft. of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Rinse residue/dry after wet.
• Any device which uses accessible compartments or ports that can be opened should have these sealed or closed tightly to prevent liquid from entering the system.
• If the device has been immersed in water, the touchscreen or other features may not work properly. If the microphone or speaker is wet, sound may not be heard clearly during a call. Use a dry cloth to dry the device thoroughly before using it.
• Do not expose the device to water at high pressure.
• If the device is dropped or receives an impact, the water resistant features of the device may be damaged.
CAUTION: To avoid electric shock and damage to your device, do not charge device while it is wet or in an area where it could get wet. Do not handle device, charger or cords with wet hands while charging.
NOTE: Liquid other than fresh water may enter the device faster. Failure to rinse the device in fresh water and dry it as instructed may cause the device to suffer from operability or cosmetic issues.
How do I charge the battery?
Your device is powered by a rechargeable battery. A USB Type-C 3A cable is included. Wall charger sold separately. Use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. To avoid injury or damage to your device, do not use incompatible, worn or damaged batteries, chargers, or cables. Using other charging devices and batteries may not be covered under warranty and may cause damage.
While charging, the device and the charger may become hot and stop charging. This usually does not affect the device’s lifespan or performance and is in the device’s normal range of operation. Disconnect the charger from the device and wait for the device to cool down.
How do I use Wireless power sharing?
You can wirelessly charge your compatible Samsung devices using your phone. Some features are not available while sharing power.
1. From Settings, tap Battery > Wireless power sharing.
2. Tap Battery limit and choose a percentage. Once the device you are charging has reached this level of charge, wireless power sharing automatically turns off.
3. Tap the switch to turn on the charging feature.
4. With the phone face down, place the compatible device on the back of the phone to charge. A notification sound or vibration occurs when charging begins.
For best results, please note:
• Remove any accessories or cover before using the feature. Depending on the type of accessory or cover, Wireless power sharing may not work properly.
• The location of the wireless charging coil may vary by device, so you may need to adjust the placement to make a connection. When charging starts, a notification or vibration will occur, so the notification will help you know you’ve made a connection.
• Call reception or data services may be affected, depending on your network environment.
• Charging speed or efficiency can vary depending on device condition or surrounding environment.
• Do not use headphones while charging with Wireless power sharing.
Note: Wireless power sharing works with most Qi-Certified devices. Requires minimum 30% battery to share. Speed and power efficiency of charge varies by device. May not work with some accessories, covers, or other manufacturer’s devices. If you have trouble connecting or charging is slow, remove any cover from each device.
How do I turn my device on, off, or restart it?
Use the Side button to turn your device on. Do not use the device if the body is cracked or broken. Use the device only after it has been repaired.
• To turn the device on: Press and hold the Side button.
• To turn the device off: Press and hold the Side button and Volume down button at the same time, and tap Power off. Confirm when prompted.
• To restart your device: Press and hold the Side button and Volume down button at the same time, and tap Restart. Confirm when prompted.
Tip: To learn more about powering off your device from Settings, tap Advanced features > Side button > How to power off your phone.
How do I transfer data from an old device?
Use Smart Switch™ to transfer contacts, photos, music, videos, messages, notes, calendars, and more from your old device. Smart Switch can transfer your data using a USB cable, Wi-Fi, or computer.
1. From Settings, tap Accounts and backup > Transfer data for device setup.
2. Follow the prompts and select the content to transfer.
How do I lock or unlock my device?
Use your device’s screen lock features to secure your device. By default, the device locks automatically when the screen times out.
Use the Side button:
• Press to lock.
• Press to turn on the screen, and then swipe the screen to unlock it.
How do I use and customize the Galaxy Z Flip6 Cover screen?
When your device is folded, use the touch screen to access shortcuts without opening the device.
Available Shortcuts:
• Press Side button or double tap to wake the cover screen.
• Swipe right to display notifications.

– To add a widget, touch and hold the screen, swipe left to the last screen, and tap Add widget.

• Wallpaper: From a Home screen, touch and hold the screen, and then tap Wallpaper and style. You can change wallpapers for the Home and Lock screens, and choose a color palette.
• Themes: From a Home screen, touch and hold the screen, and then tap Themes. You can preview, download, and apply themes for your Home and Lock screens, wallpapers, and icons.
• Icons: From a Home screen, touch and hold, then tap Themes > Icons to preview and apply different icon sets.

How do I use the Taskbar on the Galaxy Z Fold6?
Display the Taskbar on the bottom of your screen for a PC-like experience. Open apps and app pairs quickly.
1. From Settings, tap Display > Taskbar.

• To include recently opened apps on the Taskbar, tap Show recent apps or suggested apps.
How do I use Multi window?
Multitask by using multiple apps at the same time. Apps that support Multi window can be displayed together on a split screen.

2. Tap the app icon, and then tap Open in split screen view.
3. Tap an app in the other window to add it to the split screen view.
• Drag the middle of the window border to adjust the window size.
Tap the middle of the window border for controls to rotate the windows, swap windows, or create an app pair shortcut.

Configure Multi window features to launch with swipe gestures. From Settings, tap Advanced features > Multi window for the following options:
• Swipe for split screen: Swipe two fingers across either screen from the side or bottom to change to Split screen view. Swipe again to switch apps.

• To zoom, tap a zoom magnification number at the bottom of the screen (rear camera only).
• To change shooting modes, swipe the screen right or left.

2. Tap Record to begin recording a video.
• To take a picture while recording, tap Capture.

How do I use the Gallery app?
You can edit and manage pictures and videos stored on your device in the Gallery app.
• Open pictures: From Gallery, tap Pictures. Tap a picture to open it. Swipe to see others. You can display on a TV via Smart View, use Bixby Vision, add to favorites, or access more options like Details, Copy, Set as wallpaper, etc.
• Edit pictures: Tap a picture, then tap Edit. You can use Photo assist, Transform, Filters, Tone, Decorations, Tools, and more.
• Play video: Tap a video to open it. You can add to favorites, use Audio eraser, or access more options like Details, Open in Video player, Create GIF, etc. Tap the play icon to play the video.
• Edit video: Tap a video, then tap Edit. You can preview, adjust speed, trim, transform, add filters, adjust tone, add decorations, adjust audio, and more.
• Share pictures and videos: Select items, tap Share, and choose an app or connection.
• Delete pictures and videos: Select items and tap Delete.
How do I take a screenshot?
Your device will automatically create a Screenshots album in the Gallery app.
• Button method: From any screen, press and release the Side button and Volume down button simultaneously.
• Palm swipe method: Capture an image of the screen by swiping the edge of your hand across it, from side to side, keeping in contact with the screen. To enable this, go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture, and tap the switch to enable.
How do I use the Screen recorder?
Record activities on your device, write notes, and use the camera to record a video overlay of yourself.
