When preparing for installation of your RADIOSHACK 49-105, please consider the following:

• Carefully plan the camera position and cable route.

• Select a dust-free location providing a clear view of the area you want to monitor, and that is not in a strong light source such as direct sunlight.

• Do not install the camera in a location exposed to high humidity or rain.

• Select a location for the camera that has an ambient temperature between -4°F (-20°C) and 122°F (50°C).

• Plan the cable’s route so it is not close to power or telephone lines, transformers, microwave ovens, or other electrical equipment that could interfere with the system.

• If you plan to install the camera in a location with harsh conditions, consult with a professional installer and consider using a camera cover or housing (not included).

• Before permanently mounting the camera, first setup and hold the camera in the desired location and check its performance on the monitor.

• To illuminate the camera’s viewing area beyond that of the nightvision, we recommend a small incandescent flood lamp.

Follow these steps to mount the cameras for your RADIOSHACK 49-105:

1. Use the wall mount bracket to mark the locations for the two mounting screw holes.

2. (Optional) To run the video cable behind the mounting surface, drill a third hole at least 14 mm in diameter.

3. To mount the camera, loosen the screw from the base of the camera’s neck, and insert the camera onto the arm of the wall mount bracket. Secure the camera by tightening the screw.

Note: If mounting to a drywall, drill the drywall anchor holes just large enough to insert the anchors firmly, then follow the steps above.

To connect your RADIOSHACK 49-105 system, follow these steps:

1. Position the camera for the desired recording view.

2. (Optional) Connect the camera plug into the 59-foot cable socket then connect the 59-foot cable plug into the mini-DIN sockets CAM1 and CAM2 on the back of the switchbox.

3. Connect the supplied video cable to the video sockets of your TV or monitor (matching yellow to yellow and white to white).

4. Connect the adapter (supplied) into the DC 15V jack on the back of the switchbox. Then connect the other end of the adapter to a standard AC outlet. After the connection is completed, the green POWER indicator lights when the switchbox is powered on and it sounds two beeps.

Important! You must use a Class 2 power source that supplies regulated 15V DC and delivers at least 500 mA. Its center tip must be set to positive and its plug must fit the switchbox’s DC15V jack. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the switchbox or the adapter. The correct orientation for this power unit is in a vertical or floor mount position.

Always connect the adapter to the switchbox before you connect it to AC power. When you finish, disconnect the adapter from AC power before you disconnect it from the switchbox.

To set the trigger sources on the RADIOSHACK 49-105 switchbox:

• Slide the switch to PIR to set the switchbox triggered by motion in the camera viewing areas.

• Slide the switch to AUDIO to set the switchbox triggered by sounds in the camera viewing areas.

• Slide the switch to PIR+AUDIO to set the switchbox triggered by both motion and sounds.

• To turn off the auto-trigger function, slide the switch to OFF.

To set the alarm status on your RADIOSHACK 49-105, slide the alarm switch to ALARM to turn it on. The yellow ALARM indicator lights and the switchbox buzzes when a signal is received from the camera sensors.

The RADIOSHACK 49-105 switchbox enables 2-way communication between the cameras and switchbox. To talk, press and hold INTERCOM on the switchbox. The red AUTO/MANUAL indicator lights. To listen, release INTERCOM.

To adjust the alarm time from 5 to 30 seconds, rotate ALARM TIME on the right side of the switchbox.

You can set the sensitivity level of the audio trigger from low to high for the input of each camera separately on your RADIOSHACK 49-105.

• To set the sensitivity level for the input of camera 1, rotate AUDIO SENSITIVITY 1 on the right side of the switchbox.

• To set the sensitivity level for the input of camera 2, rotate AUDIO SENSITIVITY 2 on the left side of the switchbox.

On your RADIOSHACK 49-105, press AUTO/MANUAL to toggle between auto scan and manual-scan mode. Press CAMERA SELECT to switch between the two cameras in the manual scan mode.

Note that while in the auto-scan mode, the switchbox automatically switches the monitor to view the area covered by the camera which triggered the alarm. The switchbox will not automatically switch camera views while in manual mode, regardless of a triggered alarm.

The switchbox for the RADIOSHACK 49-105 is preset to auto scan mode, and the scan time is preset to two seconds. Follow these steps to change the scan time:

1. Press and hold CAMERA SELECT until the green AUTO/MANUAL/INTERCOM indicator flashes steadily, and the scan time changes from 2 to 5 seconds.

2. Press and hold CAMERA SELECT again until the green AUTO/MANUAL/INTERCOM indicator flashes quickly, and the scan time changes from 5 to 10 seconds.

3. Press and hold CAMERA SELECT for the third time until the green AUTO/MANUAL/INTERCOM indicator lights, and the scan time changes from 10 to 2 seconds.

To care for your RADIOSHACK 49-105, follow these guidelines:

• Keep the system dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Use and store the system only in normal temperature environments.

• Handle the system gently and carefully. Do not drop it.

• Keep it away from dust and dirt, and wipe it with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.

Modifying or tampering with the system’s internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. If your system is not performing as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
