Backup batteries provide power during power outages to preserve your settings and data memory. Follow these steps to install them:

1. Open the battery cover.

2. Install two AAA batteries (not included) as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside.

3. Replace the battery cover.

• Replace the batteries when the LED display dims or the sound becomes weak or distorted.

• Dispose of batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them.

• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.

• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (alkaline or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.

• If you do not plan to use the radio for a long time, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts.

Connect the supplied AC adapter barrel plug into the DC IN jack on the back of the radio, and plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet. The LED displays the time.

To charge a portable device, connect it to the USB Charging Port using a USB charging cable (not included).

In standby mode, the time is shown using a 12-hour clock with a green PM indicator.

1. Press and hold TIME for 2 seconds to enter time-setting mode. The hour digits flash.

2. Press + or – to set the hour.

3. Press TIME. The minute digits flash.

4. Press + or – to set the minute.

5. Press TIME to confirm and exit.

1. Press and hold FM for 2 seconds to turn on the radio. The red FM indicator lights.

2. Press ◀ or ▶ to tune a station, or press and hold ◀ or ▶ to scan for available stations.

3. Press + or – to increase or decrease the volume.

1. Press FM to switch to Bluetooth mode. The blue Bluetooth indicator flashes.

2. Activate your device’s Bluetooth function (refer to your device’s user’s guide).

3. When your device locates RS1201682, select it. When paired, the blue indicator lights steadily.

4. Turn on the audio source. You can control your radio through your device or with the radio’s ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆, ◀ and ▶, and +/- buttons.

• If you receive a call, you can answer the call by pressing the ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆ button and speaking into the microphone.

• To reject an incoming call, press and hold the ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆ button for 2 seconds.

Note: When your device receives an incoming call, the Bluetooth connection is suspended and playback will pause.

Many Bluetooth-enabled devices remember the most recently paired source and automatically reconnect. This can prevent you from connecting to a new source like your radio. If you can’t pair your radio, you may need to disconnect it from its previous source device.

To disconnect the paired device, press and hold the radio’s ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆ button for 2 seconds. The radio will start searching for another Bluetooth device.

For an audio device without Bluetooth technology, use a ⅛ in. audio cable (not included) to connect it to the radio’s AUX IN jack. “AUX” will appear on the display.

Notes:

• Bluetooth or FM radio mode is automatically deactivated when AUX IN is connected.

• Use the controls on your connected device to control playback.

You can set one or two alarms (AL1 or AL2).

1. Press and hold AL1 (or AL2) for 2 seconds to enter alarm-setting mode. The hour digits flash.

2. Press + or – to set the hour.

3. Press AL1 (or AL2). The minute digits flash.

4. Press + or – to set the minute.

5. Press AL1 (or AL2), then press + or – to set the alarm source: b (Beep) or F (Radio).

6. Press AL1 (or AL2) to confirm and exit. The amber AL indicator lights.

7. Press AL1 (or AL2) once to review the alarm time, and press it again to turn the alarm on/off.

When the alarm sounds:

• The respective Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 indicator flashes.

• The alarm will sound for 1 hour at the set time, and the volume increases gradually to the maximum level.

• When the alarm time expires, the alarm will sound again the next day at the same time.

To control the alarm:

• To temporarily pause (snooze) the alarm for 9 minutes, press ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆. The alarm indicator continues flashing. You can repeat snooze up to 7 times from when the alarm first sounds.

• To stop the alarm, press the respective alarm button (AL1 or AL2).

Press the ►II/snooze_dimmer/✆ button to toggle the LED display brightness between high and low. Note that this selection is disabled in Bluetooth or snooze mode, or when the alarm is sounding.

If this equipment causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, you are encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
