The PRORUN PHB2444 is a portable gardening device designed for “DIY” use by non-professional operators. Its intended use is for the movement and accumulation, by blowing, of leaves, grass, and debris of various limited weight and modest dimensions.

Improper use of the PRORUN PHB2444 includes using the machine for the accumulation of inflammable or explosive products, hot embers or combustion material without a flame, lit cigarettes, pieces of glass, sharp objects, metal objects, stones, and any other object that could be dangerous to the operator and others. Examples of improper use also include:

• Aiming the air shot towards persons and/or animals.

• Allowing an object to enter the suction grid.

• Using the machine without the accessories specifically supplied by the manufacturer for specific uses, or use of accessories in a way not intended in these instructions.

• Use of the machine by more than one person.

The symbols on your PRORUN PHB2444 are placed on various parts of the machine to remind you of the main precautions to be taken. Their meanings are:

• **”O” Stop, “I” Start**: Operate the engine switch. Flipping the switch to the “O” position immediately stops the engine.

• **Warning Triangle**: Warning! Danger. Failure to use this machine correctly can be hazardous for oneself and others. Read the instruction manual before using the machine.

• **Person Kept Away**: Keep all persons away from the work area while using.

• **Goggles and Hearing Protection**: If you are using the machine every day in normal conditions, you can be exposed to a noise level of 85 dB (A) or higher. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection.

• **Gloves and Footwear**: Wear gloves and protective footwear!

Before using the PRORUN PHB2444, perform these preliminary operations:

• **Wear Proper Clothing**: Always wear slim-fitting protective clothes, anti-vibration gloves, protective goggles, a half-mask respirator, protective earplugs, and anti-shear safety boots with non-slip soles. Never wear scarves, shirts, necklaces, or any flapping accessory. Tie your hair back if it is long.

• **Handle Fuel Safely**: Petrol is highly flammable. Keep fuel in approved containers. Add fuel outdoors using a funnel and do not smoke. Add fuel before starting the engine, never while it’s running or hot. If you spill fuel, move the machine away and wait for vapors to dissipate before starting. Always replace fuel caps securely. Start the engine at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from the refueling spot.

• **Inspect the Machine**: Check that the throttle trigger moves freely and returns to its neutral position. Ensure the engine stop switch moves easily. The spark plug cable must be in perfect condition. The machine handgrips and protection devices must be clean, dry, and well-fastened. The guards and rotor must not be damaged.

• **Prepare the Work Area**: Thoroughly inspect the whole work area and remove anything that could be projected by the machine, such as stones, branches, iron wire, bones, etc.

When using the PRORUN PHB2444, follow these safety guidelines:

• Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can develop.

• Work only in daylight or with good artificial light and visibility.

• Maintain a firm and well-balanced position. Never run, but walk carefully.

• Ensure nobody is within at least 50 feet (15.25 meters) of the machine’s range of action when you start it.

• Do not change engine settings or over-speed the engine.

• Keep your hands away from the intake grille and the air outlet, and do not obstruct the air vents.

• Stop the engine when mounting or removing accessories, whenever you leave the machine unattended, before refueling, and when moving between work areas.

• Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug cable before checking, cleaning, or working on the machine, or if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally.

• To avoid fire risk, do not leave the machine with a hot engine on leaves, dry grass, or other inflammable material.

For proper maintenance and storage of your PRORUN PHB2444:

• Before cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the spark plug cap. Wear proper clothing and protective gloves.

• Never use the machine with worn or damaged parts. Always replace faulty parts with original spare parts.

• Keep all nuts and screws tight to ensure the machine is always in safe working condition.

• Do not store the machine with fuel in the tank in an area where fuel vapors could reach an open flame, a spark, or a strong heat source.

• Allow the engine to cool down before storing the machine in any enclosure.

• To reduce fire hazards, keep the engine, exhaust silencer, and fuel storage area free from sawdust, branches, leaves, or excessive grease.

• If the fuel tank has to be emptied, do so outdoors after the engine has cooled down.

• Store the machine out of the reach of children.

Whenever the PRORUN PHB2444 is to be handled or transported, you must:

• Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug cap.

• Only hold the machine using the handgrips and position the tubes so that they do not obstruct.

• When using a vehicle to transport the machine, remove the tubes and position it so that it can cause no danger to persons. Fasten the blower firmly in place to avoid it from tipping over, which may cause damage or fuel spillage.

To use the PRORUN PHB2444 as a blower, assemble the tubes as follows:

1. Align the protrusions of the first blower tube (1) with the air outlet nozzle compartments (2), then push the tube until it is fitting firmly in place.

2. Align the compartment of the second blower tube (3) with the protrusion (4) of the first tube, push the tube in and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise to one of the two positions, until it is fitting firmly in place.

To remove the first tube (1), insert the scrench / multi-tool included in the kit into the hole (5) and press firmly until you can slide the tube out from the air outlet nozzle.

Before starting work with your PRORUN PHB2444, please check the following:

• Check that all the screws on the machine are tightly fastened.

• Check that the air filter is clean.

• Check that the handgrips are well fastened.

• Prepare accessories according to the type of work (as blower) and make sure they are correctly mounted.

• Fill with fuel as indicated.

The PRORUN PHB2444 has a two-stroke engine and requires a 50:1 mixture of petrol and lubricating oil. Using petrol alone will damage the engine.

1. **Petrol**: Only use unleaded petrol with a fuel grade of at least 87 (AKI). Do not use gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol (E10) or E85 ethanol. Use fresh petrol, as petrol older than 2 months can create deposits.

2. **Oil**: Only use top quality synthetic oil specifically for two-stroke engines that meets either JASO M345 FD or ISO-L-EGD requirements.

3. **Mixing**: To obtain the proper 50:1 mixture, mix 2.6 fluid ounces of 2-cycle oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline into an approved container. Then gently agitate the container to thoroughly mix the gasoline/2-cycle oil.

Always prepare the mixture in a safe place, away from any flames or heat sources. Never smoke while preparing the mixture.

To prevent serious injury from fire, follow these steps to refuel your PRORUN PHB2444:

1. Fill the fuel tank in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources. If the engine is hot from use, shut the engine off and wait for it to cool before adding fuel. Do not smoke.

2. Clean the Fuel Tank Cap and the area around it.

3. Unscrew and remove the Fuel Tank Cap.

4. If needed, fill the Fuel Tank to about 1 inch under the fill neck with the pre-mixed unleaded gasoline/2-cycle oil mixture.

5. Then replace the Fuel Tank Cap.

6. Wipe up any spilled fuel and allow excess to evaporate before starting the engine. To prevent FIRE, do not start the engine while the smell of fuel hangs in the air.

A “cold” start is for an engine that has been off for at least 5 minutes or after refueling. Follow these steps:

1. Before starting, place the machine on stable ground and make sure the blowing tubes are not crushed.

2. Operate the choke lever (2), moving it to the «CHOKE» position.

3. Press the primer device button (3) 7 to 10 times to prime the carburetor.

4. Hold the machine firmly with one hand on the hand grip (6) to avoid losing control.

5. Pull the starter rope slowly for 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) until you feel some resistance, then tug it evenly and firmly a few times until you hear the engine turn over.

6. Switch the lever (2) to the «RUN» position.

7. Pull the starter grip again and press the throttle trigger all the way (4) until the engine starts as normal.

8. When the engine has started, press and release the throttle trigger (4) to allow the engine to run idle. Rev the engine a little to warm it up before use.

To hot start the engine immediately after it has stopped, follow steps 2, 3, 4, and 6 of the cold start procedure, making sure the primer (3) is activated 2-3 times only.

The rotor rpm must be proportionate to the type of work and is regulated by the throttle trigger (4) located on the upper handgrip. The throttle trigger can be held in any required position by engaging the throttle setting device (5).

To stop the engine:

• Turn the throttle setting device downwards (5).

• Release the throttle trigger (4).

• Press and hold the switch (1) in the «O» position until the engine switches off, then release the switch which will automatically move to the «I» position ready for the next start procedure.

When using the PRORUN PHB2444 as a blower, the machine must always be firmly gripped with your right hand on the upper handgrip during work. Engine speed should be adjusted to the type of material to be removed:

• Use the engine at low speed for lightweight material and small bushes on the lawn.

• Use the engine at average speed to move grass and lightweight leaves on pavement or solid ground.

• Use the engine at high speed for heavier materials like fresh snow or voluminous dirt.

Always pay the utmost attention to prevent removed material or dust from injuring people or animals or damaging property. Always assess wind direction and never work against the wind.

Cleaning the air filter is essential and must be done after every 8-10 working hours. Do not work with a damaged filter or without a filter.

1. Loosen the knob (1), remove the cover (2) and the filter element (3).

2. Wash the filter element (3) with soap and water. Do not use petrol or other solvents.

3. Leave the filter to dry in the open air.

4. Replace the filter element (3) and the cover (2) and tighten the knob (1).

Periodically remove and clean the spark plug using a metal brush to get rid of any deposits. Check and reset the correct distance between the electrodes to 0.020 – 0.030 inches (0.6 – 0.7 mm). Replace the spark plug and fasten it firmly using the supplied wrench. The spark plug must be replaced with one with the same characteristics whenever the electrodes have burnt or the insulation has worn, and in any case every 50 working hours.

If the machine will not be used for a period of more than 2-3 months, follow these procedures to avoid difficulty when you wish to use the machine again and to prevent permanent damage:

• **Storage**: Empty the fuel tank. Start the engine and run it idle until it comes to a halt, so that it uses up all the fuel that is left in the carburetor. Allow the engine to cool down and remove the spark plug cap.

• **Restarting work**: When you wish to start using the machine again, replace the spark plug cap and prepare the machine as indicated in the paragraph entitled “Preparing for work”.

If the engine of your PRORUN PHB2444 will not start or keep running, check for the following potential issues and their corrective actions:

• **Incorrect starting procedure**: Follow the instructions in chapter 3.

• **Dirty spark plug or incorrect distance between the electrodes**: Check the spark plug as per chapter 5.

• **Air filter clogged**: Clean or replace the filter as per chapter 5.

• **Carburation problems**: Contact your Dealer.

• **Intake grille open**: Close the grille.

• **Blower tube not fitted**: Fit the tube.

If your PRORUN PHB2444 engine starts but is lacking in power, consider the following:

• **Air filter clogged**: Clean or replace the filter as instructed in chapter 5.

• **Carburation problem**: Contact PRORUN Customer Service.

If the engine runs irregularly and lacks power when revved, perform these checks:

• **Dirty spark plug or incorrect distance between the electrodes**: Check the spark plug as per the instructions in chapter 5.

• **Carburation problems**: Contact your Dealer.

If the engine on your PRORUN PHB2444 is producing too much smoke, check these possible causes:

• **Incorrect composition of the fuel mixture**: Prepare the fuel mixture according to the instructions in chapter 2.

• **Carburation problems**: Contact PRORUN Customer Service.

If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally due to damaged or loose parts, take the following steps:

1. Stop the machine and disconnect the spark plug cable.

2. Inspect for damage.

3. Check for and tighten any loose parts.

4. Contact PRORUN Customer Service with any questions or issues.

The following intervals apply to normal operating conditions. If your daily working time is longer or operating conditions are difficult (e.g., very dusty work area), shorten the specified intervals accordingly.
